Came here whilst in the area . I had the mince and dumplings ( more gravy than mince , watery mash ) , my wife had the chicken and ham pie ( she wasn't impressed with that either) . When asked about the dessert list, I was told there's a menu on the bar , and basically, go get it yourself . I had the cheesecake, which was OK ( to much middle and not enough top to make the tast of the cheesecake stand out , the wife had the sponge with custard which the sponge was cold , obviously just heated up in the microwave . Will not go here ever again.

What has happened to the Shiremoor house farm. Called in for an evening meal the food was almost inedible. Uncooked nan bread, curry sauce clearly from a jar and cold sloppy pak choi and to think this cost money, when this was mentioned to a member of the management team he carried on cleaning tables and his reply was “I will pass it on” Needless to say I will surely pass on the Shiremoor House Farm

We had a great Sunday lunch here recently. We booked a table as it can get quite busy, and we were glad we did! It was very busy which was a good sign. However, we ordered quickly and settled in to wait with a couple of pints of lager. My wife had the roast beef option and I had the trio of meats – chicken, pork and beef. Both plates were enormous: lots of roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, veg and gravy. £19 for the beef and £21 for the trio – good value for the amount of food really. We also had a refreshing bottle of Pinot Grigio to wash it all down. The staff were very pleasant and made us feel very welcome. A really enjoyable time for both of us!

Went for restaurant week today and was pleased to see lots of vegan option available on the menu. I ordered the koftas and then a bbq beef skillet- the vegan alternative. Really disappointed that the vegan alternative for the kiftas was so dry and they did not have a vegan yoghurt alternative. Worse still was the main. I was given cabbage and peppers in a bbq sauce served with rice and chips, essentially they just took the beef off the dish. I challenged this as it was mostly cabbage and rice! They then brought a new skillet with just more peppers in it which were not even cooked. I hate places that say they offer a vegan alternative when what they mean is they will serve you the meal without the meat. The waiter was lovely but food terrible and the experience was made a million times worse by the fact we waited nearly 40mjnutes for starter and a further 20minutes for the mains.

Extremely Disappointing Visit. Having not been to Shiremoor House Farm for around 3 years, we were eager to revisit and enjoy a meal. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of disastrous. Upon arrival, we were vaguely directed towards our table with no real sense of welcome. We were then met with an incredibly long list of unavailable menu items, which was a huge disappointment. To make matters worse, the table was sticky, and the seats were covered in food remnants - clearly not cleaned to an acceptable standard. The service was equally appalling. Despite the pub not being overly busy, no one came to take our order. I queued at the bar to attempt to order, only to be told it was table service and someone would be over shortly. I returned to the table and waited... and waited... and waited. Completely fed up, we decided to leave. This was a truly disappointing experience. The lack of cleanliness, the extensive unavailable menu, and the non-existent service made for an incredibly frustrating visit. Based on this experience, we will definitely not be returning.

First time visiting here and the place is beautiful inside, the menu varied and the food mostly fab. The roast meat sandwich with Yorkshire pudding was very nice. Had the yorkie been hot it would have been even better. The halloumi burger was very nice. The only meal that wasn't was the been with crispy noodles. It looked delicious, however the beef was very tough, and not nice to keep trying to eat, the chillies in abundance made it more abou the chillis than the meal and the noodles were not crispy at all, just normal noodles in the sauce. When we mentioned this to the staff they were lovely and removed the meal from the bill. We would go back.

It used to be a farm and was converted into a pub (with food serving). I just think the location, in the middle of nowhere, is amazing. I was happy to see that this pub is still around. I haven't visited this place since 1997. It hadn't changed so much really, which is great. But I do miss the old "Beware of bull" sign on the outside. I believe it was on a fence or something, don't recall. So they most have taken the sign away or I just didn't see it. I thought it was a nice touch. The location is really huge and has got a great atmosphere. A bit of a cottage/farm cozy vibe, very relaxing. The staff are very helpful and smiling. Selection of drinks is great and food also. I would love to come back one day.

Went out with my girlfriend and her grandparents for dinner while I was in Newcastle. The place looks very nice and the food was decent but service was less than adequate. We ended up waiting the best part of half an hour even to get our drinks ordered, and the food took a while longer than to be expected as well - desserts especially which we ended up waiting for almost an hour by which time it was getting on in the evening. That being said, when we seldom saw the staff, they were very friendly.

This was the first time in a long while that we visited for food. On entering the building, I noticed a table with 3 customers had dirty pizza plates on it. They were still there when we left an hour later. We found a table and decided to order fish, pizza and a side of fries. The menu on the table was grubby and the table wasn’t very clean. The food arrived quickly and the pizza was very tasty. The side of fries was very small and definitely not worth the £4 we were charged. They had a salty seasoning which was not mentioned on the menu or at the till when we ordered. There were approximately 25 fries in the basket, making the cost of a single fry, 16p and quite a few were scraps. My husband said his fish was nice. There was no lemon with his meal, the mushy peas were dry and half of his chips were scraps. We did not receive a satisfaction check and waited 15 minutes for someone to come clear the plates. When they didn’t clear the table, we left. The experience was very disappointing.

This was always a firm favourite or ours for Sunday lunch, was always busy and enjoyable. We haven’t been for a little while but called in yesterday. So disappointing. Firstly for a Sunday lunchtime the place was extremely quiet. Over the years you would always struggle to get a walk in seat. It’s now virtually £20 for a roast beef dinner which for what you now get is a total rip off compared to other places. We however decided to give it a try … well the first plate went straight back … cold and the beef was as tough as shoe leather. The replacement meals were brought with a timid apology and whilst they were hot the meat was still not good. We left them and sadly won’t be returning. The management seriously need to look at this place and ask why are people no longer coming. We often go to The Twin Farms which is a sister pub. Totally different.

But not wanting to write this place off , we decided to to give it another go , entered the car park & knew nothing had changed , Empty which at one time you couldn’t get parked , entered the building & could pick any seating area , again never known . Looked at the menu & immediately thought £20 for a Sunday lunch , which has nearly doubled in price in a few years , along side the portion sizes being dramatically being reduced. Unfortunately im not sure what is going on with the farm but the management really need to address this quickly !!!!

We visited today, as a group of 12 for lunch. There was a varied menu as well as a selection of specials. A large blackboard was set up with a few Gluten Free options. We’d booked in advance and a large table was reserved for us. I have complex food allergies and was assisted by Abbie, who provided the allergy information as well as consulting with the chef. A meal was identified and adjusted to ensure it was safe for me. The rest of the group ordered from the specials and main menus. The order arrived in good time, all well presented and served professionally. The portion sizes were good and for those that had gravy, this was served in individual jugs. Everyone really enjoyed their food. My meal was excellent and I’m grateful for a very tasty meal that had variety. The staff checked all was fine for us twice throughout our meal. After the table was cleared we were able to relax and take our time before leaving. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The cost was extremely reasonable. The entire experience was very good and a return visit will definitely happen.

Visited here with my partner. What absolutely awful food and awful service. I ordered a sizzling plate. It arrived in a sauce, something which was not stated on the menu, otherwise I simply wouldn't have ordered it. It got sent back and I was offered a replacement, which was a kebab with rice. It came with chips. I deiced not to complain again and just deal with it. We paid for the meals but realised that we had been charged for 3 as the sizzling plate had not been taken off. After speaking to a member of staff we were told that since there was nothing wrong with the meal we would have to pay for it. Despite me explaining that it was in a sauce which it didn't say on the menu. Only to then be told that "every sizzling plate I've ever had, has come in a sauce". We asked to speak to the manager, got told he wasn't in but gave us a number. We left after realising that this was going absolutely nowhere as this member of staff was very confrontational. My partner then rang them multiple times. Eventually got through and spent 30 minutes on the phone to basically be told we will not be getting a refund. Due to being treated this way we have not been back since and this was well over a year ago now, which is a shame as we would go at least once a month. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anybody as many people I know have said this place has really gone down hill lately, which just proves my point.

I went here with my family for Sunday lunch. I opted for the meat free dinner. I do like meat but tend to go veggie when I'm out for meals. If you like green veg then this will be perfect as there was green beans, green mangetout and green cabbage, all a bit too green for my liking. There was also carrots and mashed turnip, (not green thank goodness!!). However there was no broccoli or cauliflower, that would have been preferable instead of the other green veg. The saving grace came from the huge yorkie, roasties and gravy which were lush. To be honest, considering all this cost £12, in my opinion it was overpriced for what there was. The other point I want to mention is that we wanted the sticky toffee pudding but with custard instead of whatever it mentioned on the menu. Considering the price was £7.50, my husband was going to be charged extra to have custard. This is not on. £7.50 it extortionate anyway without charging extra when swapping from one thing to another. After making it known he wasn't happy at the prospect of being charged extra our pudding eventually arrived with sauce on and a tiny jug of custard. It all tasted lovely but again, not worth the price. I have been here before and will be back in future.

After a big morning of festive shopping I headed the SHF with memories swimming in my head of freshly cooked, piping hot dishes like beef stotties with gravy, chicken curry with rice AND chips, sizzling hot plates of beef fajitas flying out of the busy kitchen; so I was really looking forward to lunch. Instead, I was brought burnt scampi with burnt (but cold) chips/potato wedges (£14), accompanied by a ‘winter slaw’ (which sounded delicious but was served the same size dish ketchup gets served in), and tartare sauce. The scampi was swapped, but the chips / wedges were returned on the same plate. Genuinely one of the worst plates of food I’ve ever been served with a straight face. My mother was served sausage and mush… I mean mash (£14?). Again, absolute rubbish. Oily smash, poor quality sausages and yesterday’s veg. What a fall from grace. Business must be totally reliant on the reputation of the old business.

Gone massively MASSIVELY downhill! Service was so neglectful it was a joke. Table of 7 of us and just forgot about when the place was dead!!! Not interested in our custom so won’t be returning. Dreadful Xmas night experience

Absolutely dreadful, clearly didn’t want our custom. Ignored our table of 7 practically all night. Desserts were all mixed up and dry! Xmas dinner was lovely but very small portions

Had a meal here this afternoon the chips came burnt and had multiple bones in thw fish and out of 5 meals at our table only 1 meal was deemed satisfactory the staff that cleared our table agreed that we should of not been served these meals offered to give free drinks or a dessert instead and we didn't want it and charged us full price anyway but won't be going back I am autistic and I have a fear of choking on bones

Gave table to other people so had to sit in room on our own. Forgotten about having to wait for food forever. Was here for for a total for 2hrs 30 mins. Wouldn’t recommend for a quick meal out. Nachos were bussing but tandoori chicken was tandoori-less and dry. Overall experience took too long and not worth your money. Took off the price of tandoori chicken and cold black pudding still cost a total of £85 not impressed.

First visit from us, we will definitely be back. The food was superb. Can't fault the service. The signage could be better as we almost missed the restaurant. Could do with signage on the main road.

I booked a late Sunday lunch for my family, 8 in all, coming from both sides of the river. I paid the requested £80 deposit, noting that it would be forfeit if I gave them less than 48 hours notice of cancellation. The weather following a heavy snowstorm during Saturday night was bad enough for me to cancel our booking early Sunday morning not wanting my husband or I or our children and grandchildren risking travelling in such appalling conditions. I was horrified to be informed by Shiremoor that I would lose my deposit as we hadn't given them the required 48 hours notice! I pointed out that the weather didn't give us 48 hours notice either! As someone on a fixed income £80 is a lot of money to lose. No amount of calls or emails seem to want to make them change their mind. Company policy! Shan't be going there again.

I went here for work face to face training so didn't get any service or food and didn't experience the atmosphere. But gave it 4 stars for the directions even though there was a quicker way to get there should have given me the same directions going as it did coming home. much faster and less complicated.

We have been going to Beaches & Cream for years and always love it. Today was really disappointing. We arrived at 2.30, nobody greeted us, we had to ask if we could sit down, there were several tables dirty despite 5 staff and lots of empty tables. When we approached the counter to order, we were told the kitchen was closed. You’d think they’d tell customers this before they sat down. One girl was taking orders and having to prepare the order and take it out, whilst 3 other visible staff were chatting, this caused unnecessary wait times. One waiter was hovering around tables, too close, making conversation uncomfortable. It was a really disappointing experience and not what we have come to expect from past experience, we travel over half an hour to go there and wish we hadn’t made the effort. I’m not sure why the kitchen closed so early, if we had known, we could’ve gone elsewhere, but more importantly, we should’ve been told as soon as we came in.

Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. I’m gluten free and they have nice gluten free options. I had the shepherds pie; honestly the best shepherds pie I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend 😊
