The pub was just opened again like one month ago , their food is amazing , i’m dying for it !!! The place is overall nice and staff are friendly, accessible prices! I really recommend the food! Thank you guys

Poor. Limited drinks and snacks available when visited saturday night.) One draft beer (Carling) and limited bottled drinks available. No bar snacks (crisps or nuts,) available as "awaiting delivery" Only good points are multiple TVs for watching sports

Really run down, new year was tragic, water coming through the ceiling and the DJ puking out the front. Worse place in Wellington

Came out for a New Year’s Eve bash with my mates. Ended up witnessing the worst DJ I have ever seen! Atmosphere DJ sucked! Licked the sound of his own voice. Playing pre made mixes and interrupting some half decent tunes is not how you DJ! We left and then after midnight while walking past to go home, the DJ had obviously imbibed in too much alcohol and was happily sitting on the outside of the venue vomiting his stomach contents up. Very professional. Think the venue need to rethink who they hire. Also the Door Staff dancing on to the dance floor is not brilliant, let alone a member of the public having to tell them that there is an issue going on outside.

Well done out. Neat and tidy. With new pool 🎱 table, great and friendly staff. Great to see it's een reopened again, after all this time doing up and repairing the place. It's a shame that they only now sell 4 different draught beers.good verity of bottled beer and refreshments.

Me and my 2 friends went in, even though it was mostly filled with old men, as we didn’t have too many places to go in wellington one of my friends needed the toilet so asked where they were and we were all immediately kicked out. I don’t know if this specific bar man hated young people or people who used toilets but either way I will never be going back and wouldn’t recommend you do either.

Absolutely shocked to say how AMAZING Sunday Lunch was today with friends. Carvery was brilliant. Atmosphere really chilled. Owners friendly. I was so not expecting it but they are really trying to turn this place around

Will not eat or drink there again. Dreadful service. Very poor attitude by staff who were incredibly rude to diners. Apparently you aren't allowed to point out that the meat they were serving on the carvery was cold. You have to be a very special chef to be able to do that. He and the and the staff are lacking in customer service training. I feel very sorry for the landlady. She should contact Indeed for better staff as the current staff are putting her business at risk.

Very warm welcome, lots of seats, cosy-feeling, wide variety of drinks, reasonable prices. Darts, tv's, pool table. Clean and tidy. Well decorated for Xmas too.

Bardzo fajne miejsce. Ma swój charakterystyczny klimat. Duży wybor drinków i alkoholi kazdy coś dla siebie wybierze. Dużo miejsca dla gości w budynku jednak jedno zastrzeżenie dotyczące bardzo głośnej muzyki doprawdy ciężko się porozumieć.

Lovely pub friendly staff and reasonable prices

Large pub. Lots of televisions dotted about so perfect for watching live sports. Lots of seating areas. Friendly staff. Pool table available. Drinks are cheap (compared to down South - Kent). Pub is tired and dated but I hope they can turn things around as the Manager and staff were really making an effort. Spent a good few hours in here on a weekend break. Not much else to do with the rain pouring down.

Fancy a value meal at lunchtime and watch big screen sports, the beacon is ideal. They offer a basic meal at reasonable cost and tasty. Not many staff but the young lady was very pleasant and polite who served the drinks and delivery of the meals. The quality was good and hot. We chose steak pie mash and peas.

Called here on a Saturday evening before going elsewhere for a meal. Was rather quiet, apart from the rather loud televisions showing usual TV programming. Prices are reasonable, service was ok, beer was ok too. Tables rather sticky. Looks like it needs a bit of a revamp as the decoration is showing signs of wear. Not that sure if I'll be back in a hurry though.

The staff makes you feel uncomfortable and feel like they are talking behind your back and no child friendly in any way

Called in xmas rve about 8..only one behind bar ???...but he was very fast at serving..pub was quite empty despite having a dj on. Told shutting at 9.30 agajn very odd..few who was in there started leaving at 9 so for xmas eve it really was not very exciting . Beer was good and we left about 9.15.

Slow service with lots of foul language from customers. Not a welcoming experience. Gave two stars because the drinks were cheap, much like the decor.

poor service, took far to long to get two simple drinks, music was shocking, not very busy, clearly wasn't to anyones taste , wouldn't visit again anytime soon.

This was a working visit so I didn't try the food or beer but the staff were great.

Not really that great sadly! The manager seems nice enough, the staff are lovely but, drinks (specifically the pink gin, tastes watered down) and the clientele leaves a LOT to be desired!

Very quiet for such large pub with no one at bar for ten min stints lager was not cold as should be and did not seem have lot sparkle there were 2 at bar waiting over 5 mins so gave up walked out ...the were no more than half dozen in .very poor bar service i fin drink and walked out cant see myself going back...far better places to spend money and its not cheap

Called in fri lunchtime place was practically empty but thats the borm and as its by train st it was better alternative to withys where by time you get served youve missed the train. The lager wasnt up to much and there was no atmosphere as it was empty . How they survive is beyond me.

Just popped in to this pub as near train station for a quick drink. 2 single sorts.... £14!!!!!! Are you kidding me! Wellington pub prices are usually cheap, this was crazy or we just got ripped off. Will not go here again knowing other pub prices near by

A large pub close to Wellington railway station, which could be good BUT not a pleasant almosphere - to get in you have to go past smokers! and when inside I was very disappointed with the choice of beers. Just the usual national chain stuff and no local real ale. Service was surely so I wont be going again. It really needs to improve service, choice of beers and get rid of some of the smokers by the door.

There is a lurch of a woman working behind the bar. I watched her scowl at any young lady that walked into the place. Very bitter old trout. Many people are put off by her. It was surprisingly quiet for a bank holiday Monday too. Maybe she is the reason. Food was mediocre, ok at best. Toilets were 11 miles up stairs and customers were generally young. NOT planning on returning but would stop off if it was raining and LURCH was out shopping for a new coffin.

Enjoyed the music but bar staff need some training

Called in sun 1st april while waiting for a taxi and this place is massive yet on this sun it was empty at 3 pm...well about 15 in service was fast..only us at bar..place was nice clean but then no one to dirty it. Wasnt best pint ide had and glad taxi came as theres something i dont like about sitting in big pub thats empty..theres a lot competion within few mins walk and think its struggling a bit

I am here with a view to watching the football. When we arrived all tv screens showed the rugby. We asked for the football....and they tuned into bolton verses villa.......really...... after then asking for liverpool...... 15 minutes later we finally got the screens switched over. We are now at half time and everyone is sat with their coat on. Dont think they know what heating is........apparantly its broken but that doesnt help....... the new management clearly have no idea on how to run a pub. Wont be returning in a hurry.

Why bother advertising food all day everyday and then don't even have any being served. We went in for two things on an evening 1. To watch the football. 2. To have a meal. We spent about 10 minutes sitting at the table looking at the menu that was put out on every single table that says food served all day every day, then went to pay and order to hear 'we don't serve food'. Just about time for kick off and 80% of the TVs get switched from the channel the game was on (bt sport) to adverts. The staff are rude and the food/entertainment is non existent. I remember it being shocking a few years back, clearly it hasn't changed. Don't even bother going in

Called in quick beer waiting for train so had 40 mins spare. It was 13.30 but hardly anyone in still had wait get served looks like its had refurb so looks clean not lot to say other than the wetherspoon up rd was very busy as they do fish friday so really think the beacon is struggling for trade

Beacon ...the food is amazing and there is always service with a smile. At night it is friendly warm place to drink and at the weekend a party atmosphere...good music and a place to socialise Well bouncers make it a safe place to be

went in Saturday evening after having an enjoyable night with my parterner we fancied a laugh and some good music hearing that the Beacon had a DJ and the environment is always good and inviting, we have not visited the pub since the last managers where there that left the back end of September, we would always have a night to remember when the managers still had it, since going back in Saturday night to try out what it was like since the new managers have taken our it was poor, empty fridges, lack of spirits and ales, DJ was good but the pub had the most of 70 people in which is unseen of on a Saturday night, I remember the pub always been full well managed and well cleaned and maintained, the ladys toilet door was open due to it being broken, toilet roll left all over the floors, bottles and glasses left, one young man behind the bar who was really kind and apologised out the lack of stock, will never go back in there until yet again there will be new managers,, would not of had this experience is the old managers where still there. Really disappointed , sad ending to a what was a good evening. :(

Nice small pub with a decent size bar soo don't have to wait long to be served. There was a live dj playing when I was there with a dancefloor. There's a few tables around for people to use.

No atmosphere. Walked in and walked straight out. No one, customers or staff, seems to care about anything.

8 of us (all pensioners) tried this pub for something to eat and drink. The men ordered pints of Doombar Amber and enquired about meals. We were told there were no meals that night. The men tried their beer and all found it to be off. They asked for a refund and were told the manager would have to be spoken to. So they asked to see the manager. He refused to come down and said the beer was fine. Appalling attitude. Not surprised only 4 other people were thete. Avoid at all costs.

High pub from wellington Town. Good ambiance and lot of TV (maybe more ambiance when football game or a other sports on tv). A place to try to have a beer or more with his friends.

La comida era terrible y no hay mucha variedad y experiencia para lo que era. Pies pegada al suelo en la zona del bar. Los inodoros estaban sucias. No volveremos!

Stopped here during our walk round Wellington, friendly staff,we did not eat here although the food smelled delicious and quite a few in eating and the prices looked ok and similar to say Wetherspoons menu , quite a large pub, sky sports etc on the tellies not doubt can get busy on a nite time or weekend, only let down was that it could do with a refurbishment as it looks dull and tired, possibly take out the carpets and replace with wood flooring just that would make a difference

Love this pub and a great night out at the weekend. Moved into the area about 6 months ago, and during this time, out of 5 toilets in the ladies, only 1 has a lock! Time to sort it out!

Me encontré con un amigo allí otra noche y pedimos mojito. Era Agua con zumo de limón (creo) y bacardi. El peor mojito nunca. Incluso no mojito. . . Muy decepcionada.

Great place great atmosphere and great music

Visitamos aquí durante nuestra estancia en un hotel cercano. Fue uno de los pocos lugares abiertos en Wellington y parecía acogedor. No nos decepcionó. El personal es encantador, buen servicio y comida sabrosa. Gracias a Dios que están abiertos los domingos! !

Went into watch a game of football they said it would be on then turned off after buying drinks only to be told it wouldn't be put back on. Asked to speak to manager after speaking to very obnoxious member of staff. The manager was extremely rude and called me liar in front of others and called our group a small little group who wouldn't affect her business. This is the second time I have a bad experience at this establishment would not advise anyone going here the staff are badly trained and rude and the manager is just as bad.

Well it seems the Beacon now has new owners and as been refurbished as when I called in it all looked very clean and bright.Even got served straight away and the beer was good and quite cheap at under 2 quid for pint of John smiths being a tues every where was quiet but are told trade is quite good there Thurs to sun.In all a very much improved pub with friendly staff will use now more often.

Large Town centre bar, good for sport watching. Cheap drinks on certain days, lively with DJ on Thursday and Saturday.

Very nice pub though the outside cigarette bin was on fire when i visited and this smelled very bad.

In massive need of improvement. Ear-splitting music, rough crowd. No food on a Saturday evening because the chef hadn't bothered to turn up for work.

We came here a few months ago and it seemed very friendly and welcoming but it seems most of the staff have changed and it's horrible. Half the time no one is behind the bar and when they are they are just rude and ignorant. Also the place is dirty and disgusting. I don't know if the owners have changed or not but I can say for sure I will never visit here again.

Once again we walked in and it was empty just a handfull folk ..even bar staff had gone home ..well they wasnt behing the bar...lolWe and our mates...walked out...again..see my last review
