The Beach Hut in Scarborough

Compré helados aquí. Tenemos 2 hijos que son celíacos. Las opciones sin gluten aquí eran excelentes. No solo tenían conos de GF, sino que la persona que servía abrió nuevas tarrinas de helado para los niños para garantizar que no hubiera contaminación cruzada.

Great little shop at the bottom of the 199 steps, loads of options of ice cream to choose from (including a vegan range). Very friendly lady and really reasonable prices.

Amazing range of ice cream flavours and lots of unusual flavours too! I had a vegan ice cream which I’d not found in other places in Whitby. Nice treat and stop after exploring the abbey and the 199 steps! We took ours down to the beach and ate it there. Beautiful!

We have an autistic teenage daughter who spotted The Beach Hut as we walked down the steps from the abbey. We were deciding what to have when she noticed this new craze of blue-sprinkled cones everywhere and she was simply put off. This happens, we're used to it. Any parent of an autistic child will tell you, it's our life. The simplest of things to us, can be big things for her. But to have the woman at the serving hatch then scoff smirking and then shake her head at my daughter was incredibly disrespectful and offensive. I wanted to tear a strip off her but was directed away from the place, fortunately. We'll never attempt to visit you again and I expect that's no big deal to you. But do have a think about how you treat others. Your look is not a pleasant one.
