What a beautiful little spot. Was a very windy/cold day on the front but once inside it was very cosy and warm and welcoming. Looks great on the eye. Nice decor inside. All the ladies running the place were so nice also. Food was all spot on. Can imagine this being an amazing spot on a hot summers day.

Such a shame to write a negative review, especially as the food is just glorious here! The chefs are fantastic, so please rest assured, you will get a decent meal here. The views are stunning, no matter the weather. The thing that lets this special little place down, is the front of house staff. Unfortunately, they are not polite, and struggle with their customer service skills - if you get a smile then you are incredibly lucky. I do not consider having my drink slammed down in front of me kind or professional. When asking where your drinks are after 15 minutes, despite the place not being terribly busy - you don't, as a paying and returning customer, expect to be frowned at or told they have to ask whether or not I made the order - simply advise me you'll get it and then check my bill! It's not rocket science! There are a few members of staff who begrudgingly work here it feels, as they talk in a robotic manner, say 'have a nice day' when they look like they want to slap you. My daughter (3 years old) was actually worried the last, and final time we went here, as she felt so bad for taking a seat when there was a queue. We hadn't realised as had come up from the ramp with her bike, and there is no sign facing that way to say 'please wait here to be seated'. And on previous occasions, we have been advised to take a seat when we want to sit outside. We did so and got into trouble. I wish I'd left then, as it was not a pleasant lunch after this due to the shocking behaviour of some staff members, who frightened my daughter and made her feel so uncomfortable. Caution here also, as they don't always show you the bill, they just tell you price and expect you to do a contactless payment... We won't be returning and won't recommend this place, as we have done, to our friends and families. Service is part of the experience, and this is somewhat lacking, and very pathetic.

Just popped in for a couple of lattes, they sat on the bar for ages before being brought over, by which time they were cold.

We stumbled on this place this morning totally by accident so went in for breakfast, the food is awesome! I had the classic breakfast and my wife had the poached eggs with avocado on sourdough toast and crispy bacon. it all looked fantastic when it came out and tasted even better. All that with 2 pots of tea for 28 quid, well worth the price. A fantastic hidden gem with beautiful veiws across the sea.

I ordered decafe white coffee. They brought a black coffe with milk on its side. It wasn't what I expected. I asked a couple of times and they confirmed it was decaffeinated. It costed me a sleepless night and unsettled heart rate. I can't take any caffeine! 😡😡

2022 Christmas dinner exceeded at the Beach Deck and staff were impeccable. This year we all felt very let down. Possibly a different chef as the food was now way up to the standards as expected. Turkey was tasteless very thick and had lots of fat on it?? The beef was VERY fatty and seemed double cooked as it was very tough. The food wasn’t great at all. The deserts were served before the table was cleared for mains. We had to ask the staff to clear our table on several occasions. The service felt very rushed and the staff seemed to want customers to eat up and leave as quick as possible. It was not a relaxing Christmas dinner or service as we expected like the year before. For a family of 9 we felt very disappointed, considering the amount of money we paid.

I've been here a few times and it's been great. My friend and I decided to go there for Christmas lunch. The staff were really friendly and efficient as always, but we were rather disappointed with our lunch. The sauce was split in our scallop starter and the turkey main was rather dry and tasteless with a rather unsavoury sausage that neither of us has more than one bite of. The tarte tatin dessert and prosecco sorbet palate cleanser were very tasty though. Will be back, just not for Christmas.

Stroll along the front with my pooch and came across this place! Great decking area which I sat on as a sunny day with great views of the coast. Inside was very clean and young staff on very friendly and made sure my pooch was ok. Opted for cod and chips and peas and a coke and coffee for afters. Food was brilliant big cod, lovely fat chips and bowl of peas. Tasted great and service was fantastic with waitress coming over halfway through to see if everything was ok,which it was. Will make a beeline for this place again with my pooch when down again although I bet during the summer it's packed despite having a big indoor outdoor area. SUPERB ATMOSPHERE THANKS STAFF.

Great location on a sunny day to enjoy the sea and coast. Great coffee, cake and a varied menu. Freindly staff and dog friendly. Easy to park nearby or walk in from the promenade.

Table for two at 1300hrs on a Monday. Quite busy, nice welcome, seated straight away. Good view of the sea, very warm inside. Acoustics are not brilliant - very noisy. The food and service were excellent. Prices are sensible. Would recommend this place.

Great busy place , lovely food and staff

Service delightful and setting is beautiful, I’d revisit. Atmosphere good indoors (it’s winter so no one was on the deck) but sound/noise echoed around the room making it tricky to hear each other unless we leant over the table. Menu was good, but fairly starch/carb heavy food, not much on menu for salad lover or lighter meals or lower fat options.

Delicious Chowder as always 😋 looked short staffed yesterday, clients complaining they hadn't had their bills, tables being cleared before new clients could be seated, long wait to be seated.

Excellent spot for food and drinks. Highly recommended. Fish and chips was by far the best I’ve had in a long time. Service friendly and very helpful. And the view is excellent as well.

Good place to stop with your dog as they are allowed inside. Nice scone and cream very yummy. Gave the dog a water bowl. Definitely recommend.

This is a lovely place to eat whilst walking along the sea front.

Just dropped in for a much needed coffee. Very noisy! Decor is not designed to minimize noisy echoes. Coffee reasonable price and good flavor although food prices on menu and looking at what people are eating seems quite pricey. Nice view of the beach. Not going to be a regular visit.

We having been lunching here for years when visiting Eastbourne, but sadly our visit this week was very disappointing. I would advise people to stick to breakfast or brunch, it’s no longer a real dining venue. I very much doubt a chef was anywhere near the food that was frankly ‘plonked’ in front of us. They had no olives!

amazing place with great service and delicious breakfast. We tried on Sunday morning, it was a bit crowded but they still managed very well.Halloumi, avocado and egg with garlic bread.

We have visited this place a few times. Our last visit was spoilt by The Beach Deck allowing dogs at the tables. There were dogs barking and some smelly dogs near us. It spoilt our Sunday lunch. Perhaps they could have two separate sections, one where dogs are allowed and one where they are not.

I went here to have brunch with my family and as soon as we arrived a young girl came over and wished us good morning which made us to feel that we gonna have a great experience. The place was nice and clean airy and right on the seafront which was beautiful to look out across the sea. We went there 2 times, one for a breakfast and another a quick brunch. The breakfast and brunch were beautifully presented hot and very tasty. I would recommend this place to friends and family ,the staff couldn't do enough and everyone was smiling and polite. Five stars brilliant I will be going back .Also, its very good value for money.

Fantastic food! Lovely coffee. A bit of waiting for a table during Sunday morning (15-20min). We discovered this place 10 years ago. Most beautiful place to eat and relax with amazing view.

The food, environment, view and staff were very lovely. The quality of the food was exceptional and I would definitely come back again.

It’s a very nice location right on the beach. There was a queue of about 20 people waiting to be seated but the staff were really slow to seat them even though there were enough empty seating to accommodate everyone! Once we were eventually seated the service was reasonably swift & good.. On the pricey side.

The Beach Deck is, in every way, the perfect seafront dining venue. The friendly, attentive staff are excellent. No amount of checking which items contained allergens was too much. Ample seating inside and out, the interior is bright, open, inviting, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean (including the lavatories). The outdoor seating provides a stunning view of the beautiful Eastbourne shoreline and sea beyond for you to enjoy while you eat an outrageously delicious, incredibly fresh meal. A gem of a place. Highly recommended.

I have been here before and was impressed then. What a lovely cafe,staff,food and service were excellent. Views over the beach are brilliant. We were able to take our dog inside the cafe too.

Went here for breakfast on our first morning in Eastbourne and had to queue, so obviously popular. Not disappointed, sat overlooking the sea and had a really tasty British cooked breakfast. Wife had pancakes and said that they were very good. So went back again the next day and received the same service.

Great food, poor service. Lots of young waitresses making themselves coffee while I wait for mine! Having to ask again.

Tasty food, great service and superb views

First visit since schools went back. Very busy but service was prompt and pleasant. First choice of burrata and beetroot salad , no burrata available, replacement was goats cheese. Declined this and chose roasted cauliflower and quinoa salad which should have been served with avocado and cashews. Cashews were replaced with pistachios without notification! Whole meal was bland, wet and really not very enjoyable. Will return but definitely not for this menu choice.

Our friend who we were visiting, who has just moved to Eastbourne recommend we eat here as the food is so good and she wasn't wrong. Loads of seating on the decked area over looking the promenade and the sea which has clear glass so your views are not obstructed, great for people watching. There was also plenty of seating inside if you prefer. Good variety on the menu from nibbly bits, fish and chips and huge burgers. Extensive drinks menu to. All the staff that worked there were super friendly and really helpful. Great atmosphere, great spot, great food. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful place. So helpful with my son food allergies and went that extra mile to ensure he had a cooked meal. I will be coming back from Kent to eat here again, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What an amazing restaurant, we were served by Jasmine who we found to be informative about the food on the menu. Jasmine helped us out with our sons food allergies and helped improvise the way the cod was cooked to ensure our son had a cooked meal. The food was outstanding and our full respect to the chefs who went that one step further for us. The restaurant itself was beachside with wonderful views and the ambience was something to be experienced. Thank you all at The Beach Deck. We will be back soon.

Big portion sizes and variety of options. Staff friendly and welcoming

The Beach Deck is the ideal location to have breakfast, lunch or dinner or any snack with a backdrop overlooking the beach and great views of the beach and the sea. This is a busy establishment, but its busyness does not impact the service, the service is impressive, the servers are attentive, friendly and provides quick quick service, all the areas are cleared quickly and effectively. The food on offer is varied, check out the menu, my chosen choice is the full English, has to be chosen, the food is cooked to perfection and the portion size is generous and is tasty and freshly prepared and cooked, my stomach was very happy. With great views and outside seating this is a great to eat and relax

We went in for a drink in the early evening. The restaurant was quiet but is busy during the day.

Visited here on our walk back from the Airshow. I understand it must have been a busy weekend for the staff but there is no reason for such attitude. Service was also very slow even though it wasn’t even half full. The staff would prefer to literally stand in front of you chatting, rather than serving people. Stopped for a bite to eat and drink, but we didn’t bother eating after our experience of the staff attitude and local of attentiveness. Has the potential to be good, but with such young staff, this place will not succeed.

I had an incredibly enjoyable experience at The Beach Deck in Eastbourne! The service was fantastic, with the staff going above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The Moules Frites were an absolute standout - cooked to perfection with a generous portion size. What really made the experience special was the fact that we were able to enjoy our meal overlooking the stunning beachfront. It truly felt like a slice of paradise. All in all, I highly recommend The Beach Deck for anyone looking for delicious food and a beautiful atmosphere.

Lovely setting. There is a car park next door but make sure you have change as you cannot pay by app. I had a burger and my sister had scampi. I had asked for my burger well done but it wasn’t so it put me off. Staff very young but friendly. Chairs inside very uncomfortable.

Our first visit to The Beach Deck will certainly not be the last! On a busy summer lunchtime, the venue appeared to be pretty much full but it didn't take long for us to be seated and, given the number of customers, service and the speed with which our meals were served was really impressive. Our meals were generous, tasty and well presented. There were plenty of helpful, cheerful staff. There was a great atmosphere and the view out to the sea and the sailing boats added to our enjoyment. We were there on the recommendation of a friend - I can see why they were happy to share their discovery of The Beach Deck.

We usually can’t fault the food but disappointed with our meal this week. Poorly presented burger with chips that looked like they’d ben chucked on the plate certainly not like the photos Service still great

Lovely location, great food-Dod friendly! We went here for lunch on a rainy day with our son and dog. A lovely welcome and a table with a great view of the sea and sailboats. Good menu choice. Chowder was spot on, great taste. Fish and chips were fresh and tasty. Service with a smile and fast. I will return on a sunny day to enjoy the large outside terrace. Overall a friendly place for all with great food and views - what more do you need!?

Lovely brunch, reasonably priced. Quick service

Lunch on a wet day but food was good and prompt. Had to look for waiting staff even when things quietened down following the main rush which was a shame. Keen to go again on a sunny day and sit outside with that great view of the beach and ocean. Moules were very good, Burger ok but I wish I had tried other things like fish and chips or calamari or the fishcakes. You cannot book, they seat as you arrive based on availability. Straight in because it was wet but can be quite a queue on a busy day.

We travelled up from France 🇫🇷 and enjoyed the best fish and chips we've had for years. We had our dog with us and she was given a water bowl.

Very nice warm welcome and nice environment with lovely view.Staff were friendly but not attentive,we had to walk up to them/the bar various times to ask for something or to order after waiting for a long time for table service.Sadly we didn't enjoy the food:Chicken burger was very tough-I could hardly cut through it with a knife,and the salad was bland (needs dressing).I would not say the food is worth the cost but I'd go back for a coffee with a lovely view.

£27.80 - for barely warm chowder for two and a cup of coffee. Our order was taken quite quickly, and food came quickly - obviously too quickly ! The bowls were not warmed and the chowder was not heated through enough. Plenty of haddock pieces but they were almost cold in their centre. The chowder was very thin compared to any creamy and thick chowder I have had anywhere else. Fat was floating on the surface. Liquid butter was disgusting ! It just ran out of the wrappers. When the waitress asked if everything was ok she walked away muttering when I didn’t answer. ( I had a mouthful). The only good thing was the skinny fries which were very good, even though a very small portion for the price. We did tell the waitress that the food had not been hot, and the butter was liquid. Nothing was said, no apology forthcoming. Being disabled means I can’t run around trying to find staff. I couldn’t see a disabled toilet and really struggled in the tiny tiny cubicles. Afterwards I asked if there really was no disabled loo, the waitress shrugged it off with “when we fitted the new door nobody bothered to put the sign on it”. Well……………. I had had two bad experiences here, but as they were long ago and I thought I should give the place another chance. It was a special treat for my husband to have a chowder. It was an expensive mistake !!! I will never return or recommend again. It’s a shame they can’t get simple things like heating plates and making sure the food is hot, as it’s position provides a lovely atmosphere.

Lovely friendly service. This place was recommended by the receptionist at our hotel as we wanted fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. We braved the windy outside deck with an amazing view and it was worth it. Also excellent choice of ice creams and...

Came here for a quick bite to eat with some friends. The service was quick and friendly, we were served by 2 different waitresses as the first time we weren't ready to order. The food came quickly and was good. My partner and I shared the ham and cheese panini. Uts wasn't too busy and the veiw of the sea was lovely. We are looking forward to coming back and trying it the seafood! Will review again.
