Would definitely not recommend this place for a roast No flavour, very bland , the cauliflower cheese was tasteless and Yorkshire pudding full of oil

Have been couple of times for the carvery. Staff have always been welcoming. As you would expect for a carvery it is help yourself to the veg. Each time veg selection has differed. They serve you plenty of meat. My only critism is I felt potatoes were under cooked and not hot enough. If you asked my husband they were as he likes them. Will continue to visit for Sunday lunch

After having enjoyed a Christmas meal at a nearby restaurant, we headed here to continue the festivities. Someone had informed us that an Elvis tribute act was taking place, and as all of us were fans, we headed down. All of us were in good spirits and were still relishing in the recent secret Santa exchange. Unfortunately, however, this was short-lived and ruined by just one individual. The Beach Bar was relatively dead, with a dozen or so people scattered around the pub. We were over by the pool table; having a drink, laughing, and all about to take part in a group game of killer. The pool table hadn’t provided us with all the balls, due to some getting lodged in the mechanism... as can sometimes happen. (Although, this was the second time it had happened). One of our group members gingerly lifted one edge of the table, to help ease the removal of said missing balls. After no luck, he gently lowered the table back down. Shortly after a random guy came storming in from outside. “What the bloody hell do you boys think you’re doing?!”. An extreme overreaction. After having just flown off the handle, he then aggressively ranted on, stating that the floor was uneven and that a lot of time and money had been spent to ensure that the table was “perfectly level” and that lifting it would ruin everything, due to our lack of intelligence. After bellyaching at us to go and ask the landlady to sort it out, rather than taking matters into our own hands, he marched back outside and resumed smoking. Dire attitude. Bewildered and to be honest, extremely irritated by the interaction, I asked the barmaid if the landlady could come and remove the dislodged balls. Whilst waiting for her, my friend highlighted that one of the pool legs was stacked up on a wedge of beer coasters. Evidently, A LOT of hard work had gone into the levelling aspect. We ended up leaving shortly after, as everyone was aggravated by the way we’d been addressed. Nor did we want to spend any more of our hard-earned money, in an establishment that addresses customers in such a way. I can only assume the guy in question was the landlord. Possibly the landlady’s squeeze. Either way, his customer service was diabolical and extremely unprofessional.

Had a lovely 2 course meal. The food was hot, very tasty and very well presented. Soups were great with lightly toasted good quality bread. The halumi was amazing. The fish and chips was very good and the fish we think was steamed and was lovely. The batter was also very different and seemed very healthy so possibly not deep fried. The vegan curry was lovely and surprisingly filling.The bar man Robbie was very friendly and helpful. We always feel at home when we go here. Nothing is too much trouble but at the same time is very laid back. This pub is very homely and definitely a must to visit. They often have live music on a weekend.

Had a lovely meal at the Beach today. Staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was welcoming and calm. The range of meat for the carvery was as expected with a good vegetable choice overall standard of the food good. We will definitely go there again.

Lovely pub with extremely friendly, helpful staff. The food was plentiful and very good. Great vegan choices also and dog friendly. Would visit again.

I have read some bad reviews about this pub,but we went for the sunday carvery and from the moment we walked in the staff was very friendly and could not do enough for us.The rost carvery was great with a choice of four meats.great home made yorkshires and crispy potatoes..Pleanty of different veg and gravy and sauces..We really enjoyed are meal and judging how busy it was must be poular.We will be going back for more.Please try it and dont judge by the bad reviews.

I visited for the first time this Sunday. I fancied trying the Carvery out as it smelt and looked amazing. I noticed that all the tables had names and times of the reservations. So I asked Someone if I could still eat. I was very pleased with the response and I was found a table straight away. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. I paid less than £15 for a Carvery with 4 meats on my plate, stuffing . Yorkshire pud and as much veg and gravy / sauces as you liked and a pint .After my lunch there was live music and roast potatoes on the bar which took me back to the good old days. I would highly recommend The Beach bar not just the food but how I was felt very welcomed and plan to eat here every Sunday and possibly in the week on a regular basis. Popped in here as the cafe was shut. Ended up having a full English too Staff were exceptionally friendly and made a fuss of my dog Monty. Food was excellent and even though I was alone did not feel uncomfortable. Would definitely return again if in the area

never trust other opinions..... visited today for Sunday Roast, the meat selection.... don't select the turkey. Carrots were uncleaned just cut and cooked, but was still undercooked. Cauliflower was undercooked and no favour to the cheese. Cabbage was over steamed. Gravey was just water with a brown colour. Everyone has their own opinion but ours is don't bother go elsewhere.....

Great staff, nicely decorated and food was great after Connor plus liv opened it up even though it was closed.

If you see some of the actual reviews of this place, you will understand that this is a horrible place to go to. The staff along with the owner have no manners and need some basic training about customer service. Seems like a bunch of grumpy and miserable family business owners who only care about sucking on their sausages and taking our covid frustration on their customers. I'm glad we walked out of this terrible place, even the ice cream van man confirmed that these people are horrible and lots of people complain about them. Hope you shut down for good. My advice to newcomers to this place is to bring your own breakfast/food or walk down the beach and get snacks from there or there is a Tesco at the end of the beach, avoid these amateurs.

I will never set foot in this place again, after being attacked personally on Facebook by the owner. It was shocking and very upsetting, and she hasn’t even been big enough to apologise to me- despite other customers calling for it. . They have lost my custom, and I will be making sure that all my family and friends know how badly I’ve been treated.

My first venture out to a pub since March and felt really nervous, however I needn’t have worried, felt very safe in the pub with distancing, masks and face coverings as recommended. The Sunday roast was delicious, will definitely come again, maybe with the dog next time. Thankyou

The dog and his humans were made to feel very welcome here. I always like to check if the dog is allowed in with the bar staff just in case Google is wrong, but there was no question here! Dog water bowls and toys, he even got brought his own home cooked treat! We only had sandwiches but they were lovely and fresh and very filling. Service was friendly and quick.

Good night .. good band .. lead singer very entertaining .. the staff at this pub are friendly .. remember you and your tipple .. have some great nights, and days for that matter, here

Booked breakfast here, superb plateful, not just in size but quality too, clearly butchers sausages not supermarket etc etc, unlimited tea and coffee. Great way to start the day

Great meal, friendly staff all the family was very content with a perfect fish and chips (even one with gluten free flour)

Went to The Beach Bar last night to see a band called Glamstar (glam rock style band). The landlady and landlord were really accommodating in find us seating and making us feel welcome. They also sorted us a cab home. Great pub great atmosphere. Definitely will be going back.

From the moment we arrived the lady was friendly, arrived and we were given water and Turkey for the dogs. Ordered food and arrived in good timing and tasted amazing. Would recommend

Had a lunchtime visit, our dog was made welcome, water bowels and play toys available. We chose the all day breakfast, really well presented and tasty. Evening entertainment seems varied, will definitely go again.

Busy, lovely afternoon weather. Stopped for a small bite to eat.Served at the bar straight away, ordered food and sat down.Been in here a few times - never an issue with anything food came out lovely - like the attention ti detail. After being declined from 2 pubs who declared dog friendly , found this warm & friendly venue . Lovely food for a late lunch with wonderful staff . They truly were dog friendly who offered biscuits and fresh water. Worth a visit for all .

The owner of this place is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.

Had a couple of really good meals late afternoon at the Beach excellent home cooked meals. All produce sourced locally (a plus). Going to try carvery as it looks lovely. Landlady and husband friendly. Entertainment good fun. Enjoyed our visits and will go back as warmly welcomed.

I don't know what it is about this place but it doesn't ever seem to get it right and it's in such a great position!

We both had cod and chips and it cost shy of £20, the fish was of average size and lovely and white, but full of bones, the chips were home made and with the skin on cut very thinly, frozen peas and tarter sauce which was the strangest tarter sauce we had ever had, didn't like it at all.
