The staff here are wonderful, the food was excellent and inexpensive. Really enjoyed our meal. Definitely one of the best places in Swindon

terrific menu, the food tastes as good as it looks as did the beer, pool tables, footie on tv, country playing & dogs.. an all round cosy environment, we travel from Cirencester it’s that good staff always polite & respectful as are the punters 🍻

There was 27 of us for my birthday. I pre ordered the food. Everyone had all different dishes. The food came out all together, no mishaps. The food was lovely. Everyone enjoyed it. Really is a lovely bar, the staff are great.

I've visited this place twice in the space of a month, may not sound like much to regular pub goers but for me who generally doesn't eat out alot to hit the same place that often in a month must say something. I came with my family and daughter. The significance of separating my daughter in that sentence I shall explain in a moment. The food came out pretty quick, I ordered a cowboy burger, which really hit the spot! The patty was nice and, dare I say it, moist! The cheese super melted, and the food was piping hot. My daughter had nachos and cheese and garlic bread from the children's lunch menu. Really good portion size for her, and she ate it all up. The only negative was we found a short black hair in the dish in which the garlic bread came in, but I didn't complain because he bread wasn't touching it, and I'm not one to split hairs! The dessert my daughter had was a Knickerbocker Glory and completely wolfed it down, who can complain about one of those. Now the importance of mentioning my daughter is that whilst she was enjoying all the fun and games on the wall that children can do if they are waiting on a nice day for their food to be freshly prepared, she had too much fun and was sick all over the turf. After telling staff they completely understood and dealt with the problem straight away. The girl who cleaned it up was so friendly and engaging with my daughter that she made sure she was OK and made her feel better about the awkward situation. Additionally, when she came out for the final time of cleaning she gave my daughter a toy from the pound machine which was so nice and was a great example about how this staff can go above and beyond in customer service. Easy location to get to just off from the m4, A419, and for anyone in the town centre location. I felt this needed as many reviews as possible for they could easily get overshadowed by The Hall and Woodhouse pub round the corner. Couldn't fault this place and the service they provided, especially around the sick issue, and therefore, I felt the need to leave a nice review on here!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our main meals- one BBQ jackfruit and one knockout burger. They both came with a generous portion of chips and onion rings. All served at a reasonable temperature. We both had the chocolate praline tart, mine by choice, my husbands by default as both his previous choices were not available (lemon muffin cheesecake and chocolate crownie). Although it wasn't his first choice he was happy as the tart was not over-sweet and the portion was a decent size but not huge. We had booked in advance but it wasn't over busy-just comfortable sitting in the pub so I guess we could have just dropped in. The tables were socially distanced in keeping with covid regulations, all staff were wearing facemasks, sanitiser was freely available and menus were one use only. We felt safe on our first meal inside a restaurant especially as the tables and floors were spotless on arrival and as we left we could see the staff cleaning our table down. The staff were all friendly and attentive (not over intrusive though).Toilets had hand sanitiser dispensers outside the door and appeared to be kept clean and in good order. It was all very impressive and we will probably return soon on our future walks via East Wichel.

Lovely, fast, friendly service Great, high-speed charging for EV Food was tasty Very safe in terms of Covid Over all, clean, pleasant experience. By the time the last morsel of food had been eaten, the car was charged.

We went to the pub as a pre booked party of 8, we had two tables of four and were positioned near to each other as requested on our online reservations. Staff were very attentive right from the beginning and nothing was too much for them.The food choices cater for all tastes and are good value with generous portions for all. Not one bad meal was served and all the party left the restaurant content. Will definitely recommend and visit again

On arrival you had hand sanitizer plus the young lad who booked us in and showed us to the table, drinks order was perfect and the food very well cooked and presented well on plate,overall 10/10 well done I will be back.

On arrival we had to wait to be seated to our table and there was a hand sanitiser on the wall as you walk in. You have to go to the bar to order your drinks and food which is fine as there are markers on the floor where you stand to queue to keep a safe distance from everyone. The food was good i had the mixed grill. You get a lot of food for your money! I had the chocolate sundae for dessert. On the menu it states it included ice cream, chocolate pieces, cream, chocolate sauce and a flake. All we got was ice cream and sauce and a bit of cream on top, there were no chocolate pieces in it, little bit disappointing but at least the ice cream was yummy! The reason i marked it average is because the waiter didn't have a face mask on or anything. When collecting our plates i especially felt on edge as he was stood right next to me collecting the plates. Little unsure as to why a face mask wasn't worn? The same when glasses were collected.

I think staff were initially daunted by the idea of 10 children and 4 adults but they were fantastic! All food came out together, no wrong dishes! Food was all nice, lots of it! Good measures in place for covid as well!

Excellent pub, very clued up on allergies, great 2 for 1, lovely cooked food. We would definitely recommend to friends and family.

This used to be a fairly nice place to eat but the last time we visited everything we wanted to order was not available so we left. Today we thought we’d give it the benefit of the doubt. It started off ok with hand sanitiser and one use menus but no one was wearing a mask. I believed it was only once seated you could dispense with one. We ordered our food and were informed that one item was unavailable, so settled on something else. The waitress was lovely and delivered the cutlery and condiments we requested. My sons sausage and mash had no gravy at all and seemed very dry, so I asked her if it was possibly to have some, she quickly went off and returned with a jug. My ribeye steak was inedible, it was so well done it was like shoe leather and gristle. So my lunch was chips and peas not ideal. The rest of my group ordered chocolate fudge cake and ice cream and surprise, surprise there wasn’t any!! Our lunch was 12’ o’clock. I could understand if we were dining later in the day and they’d had a run on it but not at midday. We left and went to Waitrose where there was far more choice. We couldn’t recommend this pub at all and I wonder how anyone could rate it a 5 star experience.

Have been to the Bayberry on numerous occasions always a pleasure food is great staff are always friendly never had a bad meal here and the prices are great 👍

Lovely pub with great and attentive staff. Very covid safe with hand gel as you go in, track and trace being insisted, disposable menus and a one way system. Gardens are lush on a warm day and they show BT sport in one area of the bar away from the restaurant so you don't hear the noise if you are dining. Food is great, highly recommend the pies and burgers!

Visited with my son and his partner and their little boy. Made to feel very welcome and very safe. They had hand sanitizer at the door and 1 use menus. Social distancing was just right. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Would recommend them to everyone.

The service and hospitality at the Bayberry is excellent. Although a limited menu there is plenty of choice, highly recommended.

Mixed grills best we have for ages even had chop bone to take home for dog realy emproved over the last few mounths. Hope coronavirus is sorted soon

Food was fine but the middle aged waitress with a bob slammed the food down on the table and got annoyed when we asked for an extra spoon... leaves a bitter taste in your mouth and ruins your experience. When the pub is only half a dozen tables full and the staff weren’t rushed off their feet you wouldn’t expect that kind of attitude. Maybe hospitality isn’t for her.

Absolutely worth a visit!Whether its for a drink with friends or a family meal. The food is good, the staff are efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is great. Responsibly priced for both food and drinks. Will definitely be trying out the breakfast menu one day soon. Overall very pleasing.

This is one of my new favourite places to visit. You can definitely see they have new people in charge. Lots of new things going on from live singers to quiz nights and much more. I would recommend you take a visit. I have seen an improvement going above and beyond to make this business succeed. Well done Matthew and all the team.

Just had best gammon for ages not to salty realy good size nice and hot best ever had surf and turf last week and that was also superb good drinks and service be back again soon

This site is presently situated in a newly built housing estate. It is signposted really well from the main road. Upon entering it was clean and fresh with staff present waiting to serve you. The fish and chips that I ordered was very nice. A really nice experience will bring my mum next time.

Quite friendly staff but food was very very poor. I had the worst tikka masala in my life. Weak tom sauce with a few bits of chicken and dry rice and floppy naan. How difficult is it to microwave a supermarket takeaway? If you have good standards people will come. But won't be returning any time soon after this

After previous excellent visits we took friends back there,what a let down scruffy manager, mediocre food, lipstick on a glass , definitely will not be returning only given one circle to get report published

On visiting the Bayberry today (13th October 19) for a child's 4th birthday family meal to celebrate we encounter real issues with the service and food. When ordering we were informed that there was no Pepsi and had very limited soft drinks available. There was no pork belly available nor lamb on the menu for the Sunday roast only chicken or beef. We were then informed when ordering that there would be a 45mins wait for food due to a large amount of people in the pub. Realistically there were only a maximum of 18 people in the pub eating at the same time most of which had food all ready. After a long wait, when the food arrived I have never been served such poor standard of food quality. Half the order was wrong therefore the children had to wait nearly an hour for food. I order the ribs and chicken when it arrived the ribs were all bones and the coleslaw was no bigger than a tsp size. I would have been embaressrd to serve this. Other members of the party ordered a large roast when this finally arrived there was no difference in size to the standard apart from the the large roast was on a bigger plate and cold. My advice would be to stay clear as there is a clear lack of interest from all involved no wonder the pub was near enough empty. On a wet and miserable Sunday I would have expected this pub to have been thriving. There was also a lack of staff present. This could be a nice family pub if only you invested more in developing standards and service.

Visited with my partner on a late Saturday afternoon to find the place completely empty which looking back at it now speaks volumes.

Due to the location and available options surrounding, this Marston's venue could be an absolute goldmine. However.... it seems after my most recent visits that the brewery don't have a clue what's going on here. Previously, over the last few years I have visited this establishment for food and never had a problem getting a table or enjoying my meal. What has happened? There has definitely been management changes. My more recent experiences have now meant I will no longer be visiting the Bayberry. To sum up, on my most recent visit whilst waiting to order at the bar my partner became aware they'd run out of Pepsi, they also had no tonic water (this may have been available but needed restocking), they were out of sausage and mash, there were no Nachos, Once we had established what we could order and they'd taken the money, we sat down to await our meals. Someone came over to the table and advised us there was no Salmon and I advised them I would go with the Cod Loin which turned out to be overcooked. A couple seated nearby were informed they'd run out of eggs and when I asked if what they HAD eaten was ok, they shook their heads and also commented that they would not be visiting again. The bar was also out of one of the ales of which there is limited choice anyway.

Thought we (my wife and I) would have fish and chips on a Friday mid-day visit. Also was considering booking for a party of 13 for a Christmas get-together. Our meal was rather a long-time coming - more than half an hour. On enquiring if our meal was imminent the chap behind the bar dodged into the back, reappeared with the news that the chef(?) didn't know anything about it. Got our money back with no apology. They never had my Pedigree ale (it's a Marston's pub for goodness sake). Will be giving this place a miss me-thinks. Christmas To Shout About Festive Menu - No!

This was a truly awful experience. The attitude of the staff verged on the outright nasty - for example when my work colleague and I asked a team member if there was an entrance through the garden gates and were told with an aggressive stare, "It's. Round. The. Front!" We stood at the counter along with several other groups while one single young member of staff laboriously took orders.

Dipped in with my mother for lunch, and was looking forward to some good pub grub. I wasn't expecting the top end food, but was still disappointed.

This restraurant was very clean the food was hot.All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Devon served us during our time there and nothing was too much for him. We will be going back soon.

Just popped in for a drink and was served by obviously inexperienced staff. Had to settle for a different drink as they don’t stock Elderflower. I was expected to drink from the bottle as I had to ask for a glass.

When you only have one till to order food, do NOT let one of your staff serve his family their drinks at said till. Especially when the other staff member is working his ass off and can’t take meal orders We used to come here at least once a week- We will not return thanks to Chris and his family.

I went to the bayberry for food today and I was massively impressed with the staff and the food and there was one member of staff called Devon that was very helpful and was very Polite and friendly ....

People please realise the Bayberry has a new manager who will need time to settle in to a new pub and new staff. Also he’s been working 12 hours shifts for 14 days without a day off. Give the guy a break. Improvement will happen just give him a chance

We have been waiting for ONE HOUR AND THIRTY FIVE MINUTES for our food. We complained and were given a refund, but the food was CANCELLED COMPLETELY, without telling us, leaving us with starving hungry and distressed children at nine o’clock at night. TERRIBLE DISGUSTING SERVICE. We will never come here again

How about just good service and good food like it was when it first opened and clean up the furniture.

Just been to the bayberry for the first time in a long time. The place was dead, so I was shocked that it took 15 minutes after placing our order to be told there was no halloumi or kids cheesey pasta. Our food took 50 minutes to come out, they forgot the chips which we were told would be right out. They came out 75 minutes after placing the order! We’d already finished so I asked for them to be returned and refunded, didn’t even get an apology from the manager. I’d be more understanding if they were busy but there was hardly any customers.

They offer 2 for 1 but it’s still expensive. Food is just bland frozen rubbish. The bar is looking tired. Shame as it could be a nice place.

Went here with my friend & her two young toddlers for lunch. Walked in just gone 12 when they opened. Was here forever as it took so long for food to come out once we had ordered it. Wouldn’t mind if they was busy but it wasn’t.

We visited on a random lunch with some friends. The burgers were amazing service was awesome. Definitely coming back.

I have been coming tonthis pub since it opened. Its really changed in the last week. The new staff are brilliant. Everything has improved from the cleanliness to the food and service. Then manager and staff took his time to introduce him self.

Manager Dave was very welcoming introduced himself with a very pleasant manor also food was brilliant very warming welcome,will definitely come back! Atmosphere is amazing! Highly recommend. Definitely worth a visit ! Many thanks. Benjamin smart,Swindon.

The new manager Dave was a great help with our night because of the rest of the staff. he has taken the roll of being a manager very well and when the rest of staff let everyone down he raised to the situation and dealt with the problems like a proper manager very pleased with his work not so much for the rest of the staff they all need some serious training not happy with any of them especially the kitchen staff, massively disappointed.

Having read some of the recent reviews I was having second thoughts about eating at The Bayberry. Nevertheless, based on previous good experiences I thought I would try the place for myself. I took my wheel-chair bound, disabled Daughter out for lunch and, as we were shopping in the area The Bayberry was a convenient venue for us.

The only thing this pub has to offer locally, is that it's open all day for food. It has seen numerous changes to the management team and staff over the past 8 years or so.

Having had a lovely week in Somerset, we decided to stop off on the way home and chose The Bay Berry as it was on route. We wish we hadn't.

On arrival we stood at an unmanned bar for 10 minutes, then a reluctant blonde lady got up from a table and came to serve us.

We had a very good meal and the pub was so busy we did expect a wait on food I mean there’s only so much equipment they have to cook on so when it’s busy it’s expected. I mean your paying Wetherspoons prices so your going to get similar quality really. If you want fast food go to McDonald’s.

Awful main meal!!!! Had to send back two meals as burnt! Pea juice on a plate the didn’t order peas. Slimy lettuce and so little of it ! Asked for more and nothing came ! Hair in under cooked chips! Still slightly frozen! Just an awful experience ! No sorry ! Also lady with white short rude. I had to pass chemical spray that was left on the table in children’s reach back to the bar! Just awful all round.

Yesterday, Saturday 20 July , my daughter, grandson and myself were traveling back home after going to RIAT at RAF Fairford, and decided to have a break for an evening meal.

The staff was rude and we waited over an hour for our food on a day that where is wasn’t even busy. I do not recommend this place to anyone

I am very disappointed as I came with my family of 12 . We had a bad experience here a couple of years ago but decided to give it a second chance. We ordered our food and the staff told us it would be 45 minutes, after waiting over 1 hour we complained in a polite way however we got a rude response, they gave us no reason why and no apologies. I witnessed another customer complaining about their food. Very limited amount of staff. There was a large amount of people at the bar waiting to be served with zero staff serving them. A staff member broke down and ignored customers whilst running to the toilets. I asked for a well done steak and it was medium/rare, my onion rings were disgusting all sloppy and greasy. The manager is refusing to come out of the kitchen and a barmaid had to be supported by one of my family members after breaking down. Many other customers complained and two tables walked out after waiting one hour for food and one other customer complained about a raw burger and after the chefs redoing it, it was raw again. Overall, it was a horrible night for me and my family and many other customers. I am very upset and shocked about my evening tonight. I would highly recommend NEVER TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT !

We have visited the pub for food on several occasions and although we don’t expect high end dining we have always been satisfied with the portion size and standard of food.

Visited the Bayberry for Sunday lunch and what an absolute dump, to start Sunday lunch would normally be beef of chicken for which they had none, scaps of Turkey or belly pork but we thought well wer'e here now go for it, cauliflower cheese as an add on lol, no chance, run out, ah well never mind pay bill and wait, Emma, 10 min wait here's dinner, wheres the carrots? Wheres the gravy? Wheres the cutlery? Wheres the mustard? So the manager I called over and thought he was amusing by calling me a whinging brit you weren't, in fact you knew that this place is a dump and you thought by making a joke of things could hide the fact it's a dump it's back fired on you, I'm honest as my views will prove, weatherspoons should look at this site as it's got great possibilities, in the mean time anyone reading this please avoid.

Can’t believe what I have just witnessed, a couple complained because after 20 minutes of a young lad playing football with his father in front of the bar and adjacent to their table pounding the ball against the main menu board - how the ball did not knock over their drinks / they requested the game to be played in the children’s area or garden. The father then abused the couple as he could not understand why it was not acceptable for a 7 year old to play football in a pub.

After being let down in another restaurant this evening, my friend and I went to the Bayberry and weren’t we glad! We chose the steak and wine deal - terrific value for £20. Unfortunately, there was an issue with one of the steaks which was put right without question and the staff couldn’t have been more obliging. It was a really pleasant evening and I have no hesitation in recommending this pub.

We found this place better than a lot of the reviews state, it was a pleasant atmosphere, the drink selection is good, prices are reasonable, we ordered two sharing starters between the 3 of us and they were very good, toilets were clean, outside seating with a covered area for smokers (not me) I did think it was a nice place to sit and have a beer, and the food did look good.

Two steaks and a bottle of wine for £20 Two pints of fosters@ £3.50 a pint one peppercorn sauce@ £2.50 they insisted it was £37 asked them to check price they never got back to me ..

As part of a mountain bike group we use this pub as a finishing point as it is a good start location for local trails. The back garden is Ok , but for a while there was dog mess in the grass. Can't say from who's dog, but the Land-persons do have a dog that constantly whinning from upstairs. They serve a few beers. One of my favourites is Hobgoblin . The beer can be a hit an miss and just lately been on the fousty side. |We have supported this pub throughout the winter rides, However this Thursday we had over 30 riders out and the pub was closed without warning and the reason given was they were preparing a new menu. Talk about turning business away. We all headed to HMW pub down the road, slightly more expensive , but has a nice new garden and patio heaters . Something to keep us warm getting back from them cold winters evening. So looks like the Bayberry might be loosing our trade in the future as well.Not while on a MTB ride , me and a friend met up at the Bayberry for a steak meal. And we had to return our steaks twice and still it came back rare. So we gave up and asked to order something the chef might find a little easier to cook. So good luck with the new menu. Let's hope it will make it a little easier for the chef to not mess it up. Can't say all is bad. As we had a MTB breakfast there and that was good. So I think it may depend on when you go. Late midweek , forget it.Good location, less than average beer, hit and mostly miss food.

Went to Bayberry on route to hospital app. Ordered fish and chips for myself and cheese nachos for my wife. My meal was well presented but on cutting into the fish it was like grey rubber absolutely awful, they did offer to cook another fish but due to appointment couldn’t wait, staff seemed very uninterested, when I said there was no way the fish was fresh I was informed “ it was defrosted this morning” . My wife’s nachos arrive a pot of tomato sauce and a green paste yuk. We will not be going back.

When you have to wait 10 minutes for a drink and there are only 2 people in front of you. One server busy flirting with her boyfriend who has turned up too....

This was our second visit to The Baybury, this time after walking in the Wiltshire hillsides near Hackpen Hill and along the Ridgeway. Again we were not disappointed. An area of the restaurant had been reserved for us. Having given our order of 20 meals (nine choices and it included a special order too!), within half an hour we were all eating. Wow! The food was well presented and delicious. No complaints from the hungry walkers. The staff also checked all was okay. Tewkesbury Walking Club would like to thank Dan Noyes and his team and look forward to returning in September.

Took my granddaughter and 2 friends for a birthday treat meal tonight, 5 adults 3 children, service at the bar was slow, waited about 10 mins to get a drink, ordered our food asking the barman could it all come out together which he replied yes, first 3 meals was out within about 5 mins, and one of the children’s meal was wrong so that was changed, then the other child had lettuce and not cheese on her burger, the next 3 meals came out all at separate times, while 2 of us was still waiting, after asking where our meals was they eventually came out and mine was totally wrong, after complaining I was told that’s the way the order went in the kitchen, to which I explained I didn’t have in front of me what was actually on the menu, didn’t get a apology, more of a grunt, ruined my granddaughters birthday totally, wouldn’t go back again it was a total shambles, terrible service and food was rubbish.

I visited here for the first time in years and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing - big portions and a bargain with 241. The staff were so friendly and I can’t wait to return!

Although I had driven past the pub a few times in the car I hadn’t paid too much attention as I tend to follow friends restaurant recommendations which usually give me confidence in where I’m spending my money - however - we were passing, hungry and expected a cheap meal from what appears a chain pub (not sure if it is) and we assumed that we’d have more space than trying to find than a place in town - when we enquired and the staff were very welcoming and encouraged us to enquire which, after studying the menu, we were happy and quite intrigued. It was a shame as we didn’t manage to take advantage of the two for one offer - there was three of us. However, even not including the +£9 we did save, regardless, I thought our meals were delicious and excellent value for money - I think we must have been lucky with our visiting time as we had free choice of seating in such a large venue with the staff’s undivided attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to assume the focus is on drinks during a busy weekend, however, bearing in mind the price of alcohol and the atmosphere that was conveyed from our lunchtime visit I would love to return more often. I will look forward to a venturing here for a proper night out without going right into town.

booked a party of 12 for for wifes 66th birthday where we had previously enjoyed several parties before, on requesting the normal waitress service we were told to order ourseves at the bar, on receiving the meals they were no longer on a par as before, then suddenly a disco started up with music so loud our whole bodies vibrated despite being towards the other end of the restaurant, then to cap it all one of the guests found a finger nail in their ice cream desert, do I need to comment more.

Popped in for a meal after a lovely day out. We enjoyed Lovely food and drinks which was served very quickly. amazing prices

We had a mid week meal for 4 adults. We sat on 2 couches which were in need of a good clean. There was no serviettes available. The food was average. It was a buy one get one. Cheapest free. But overpriced to start with so not the deal you may think. Would not be in a hurry to return.

Didnt book but got there when it opened. Food arrived within five minutes of ordering. I had a really nice Roast beef sunday lunch. The dessert arrived even quicker. We got good meals at a decent price (two for one on main meals) with great service

Went here Saturday night, booked a table for 7, guy led us to the table it was covered in dirty plates etc even though we were told table was ready. He said sorry and said he would clean it, so we went to the bar to get a drink, the same guy came out to us and asked how he could help having only spoken to us 30 seconds prior and we said your cleaning our table, oh yeh was his reply. We then sat down, seats are stained and need cleaned, but otherwise average inside. We ordered our food and was told 40 minutes, an hour and a half later the food came out. First two meals to come out, waiter was asked for cutlery to which he replied "I can get you some if you want" (umm no we thought we would eat with our hands), he came out another three times with meals and asked each time about cutlery and still none, some dishes had sides missing, peas were stone cold on a couple of meals and two burger meals were cremated, total black burnt crust on the burger and the roll was black underneath, there was about 8 chips, absolutely disgusting. We never complained as I am always wary to complain about food because have heard stories what they do to food if you complain in general this is not this particular restaurant. We then wen to the bar and asked how long desserts would be and was told by a female who wasn't the best at customer service, less than ten minutes. They were sharing a fob between them to open their tills, so she put the order on, guy then took the fob and by time he bought it back the order had disappeared so we had to give it again. The desserts did come out relatively quick, a big DRY piece of cake, dry jam sponge and I had the black forest sundae which to be honest was chocolate ice cream, raspberry sauce and some cream (that is not Black Forest) No apologies given for the delay in food, or the dessert order having to be re-done and quite frankly the very few staff they had on, did not seem to have a clue. Would never eat here again as the food was disgusting and I went home with a bad stomach and the staff are not exactly encouraging for us to want to go back and give another chance. If they got the staff organisation sorted and the food better, the value would be excellent.

Been here before and never had a problem but not the case this last visit. Tables pushed together to seat 12 but there were 16 in total with 3 children and a baby requiring a highchair. Requirements were clearly given at time of booking. It was clear on arrival they had insufficient staff and we had to sort another table and high chair ourselves. Starters were absolutely fine, there was a short wait. Mains arrived after a short wait, and whilst 80% of the food was fine, remaining was not cooked as ordered, burnt or dry. One steak was returned and another appeared in minutes, looking exactly the same! Desserts finally arrived after 40 plus minutes despite us being told after just 5 mins that certain items had sold out!!! Clearly the order had been looked at immediately it was received and judging by the state of them when they arrived made immediately. It took a complaint at the bar about the time it was taking and a request to cancel them before they were brought out. Icecream had turned to liquid, fresh cream had run down sundae glasses!! One dessert was missing which in fairness they corrected immediately but only served to highlight the length of time the others had been left standing in kitchen. A staff member informed us they had a group of 30 turn up unexpected and this was causing the problem. So because management are more interested in profit they run a pub on minimum staff, accept large groups they clearly cant cope with, and ruin the meals of others who have booked. It also seems it is beneath management to address these issues which were put in writing the following day, in fact so far they haven't even acknowledged the email. SO FOR THOSE THINKING OF A GROUP MEAL AT THE BAYBERTY, DONT, THERE ARE FAR BETTER PUBS NEARBY.

Went here for Sunday lunch with family and friends,wish we hadn't bothered! Our food came out late and cold,complained but manager wasn't interested,will not be returning!

Terrible food Avoid and eat somewhere else. Food cold and Disgusting. Such a shame could be a lovely place. Feel ripped off.

Menu looked great for Vegans, but what we were served was so disappointing! Small portions and over priced, warm at best. Have eaten better frozen food at home. It was a real shame it had obviously been sitting out a while despite asking twice for it to come when ready/all together. Bar staff were polite but the food was awful.

Have visited several times and have to say never disappointed. New managers are lovely and bar staff always so friendly. Went for Sunday lunch with family which I highly recommend (best Yorkshire puddings).

This restaurant serves great food at reasonable prices. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Have visited several times and we were never disappointed.

Called in for a meal on a Tuesday evening where you can get a free starter or pudding when ordering off the chefs special menu. Had a really nice Sirloin Steak with a Port and Stilton sauce. There was a good wedge of Stilton on top of the steak which melted into it. Would definitely have it again! Nice pudding too. The only thing I would say is I would have liked a little more custard! A lot of establishments these days only seem to serve custard in those tiny jugs and there’s never quite enough, especially when you’re a custard lover like I am! Staff were friendly as always and checked everything was OK with the meal, so I’m a little surprised at some of the negative comments on here about them. Will be back again soon for another meal.

nice pub ,nice surrounding . ordered and payed meals at bar expected long wait but not to bad for order but had main course before starter (which was nothing life ordered) Food average and small (but you expect that from 2for1) service very poor no follow up , not asked if we would like sweet or coffee and plates not removed when we left ..overall this place has gone downhill so muchi it needs a good shake up

Ordered food at bar , with some instructions of bits not requested , when food arrived with all the bits added was told”I’m only the runner” no shall I take it back or can I do anything, no just a walk away with a roll of the eyes , not very professional. If you work in an establishment surely you take responsibility !! Not impressive was not even busy !!

After my last visit it will be my last! Food was over cooked/burnt, the person preparing the food (can't call them a chef) doesn't know what a rump steak looks like. Everything placed on the table stuck to it. There are far better Marston's outlet than this one. No wonder the nearby H & W is booked ahead!!

Visited for my mums birthday on a weds lunchtime, waited ages to b served at bar although the place was practically empty , barmaid said she would bring the drinks over to the table, she just put them at the end of the table as if she couldn’t b bothered , ordered our food at the bar , waited ages , my mum daughter & myself had fish pie , the prawns were raw , when I told the barman he said “that’s a shame” my brother said I want to speak to the manager the barman said he wasn’t there or didn’t have a phone no for him , our plates were on the table over 30 mins , my daughters wanted dessert , which came a bit quicker than the main so the waitress had no choice but to remove the dirty plates , wouldn’t have minded waiting if they had been busy but there were only about 6 tables occupied the whole time we were in there, which is quite understandable now .

The food is cheap , it’s tasteless and badly cooked or microwaved . The staff are friendly . The place is dirty and needs attention to detail . Sorry won’t be eating here again .

Cheap food of acceptable quality, good beer, friendly staff. Avpity that most of the deserts were not available.

Rubbish service 50 Mins for food and discusting fish and chips that was cooked at least 3 times and was like cardboard will never eat there again. It used to be good but full of rude staff who do not give a damm. This place will not survive as its rubbish. Its a shame but the people do not care and will reap the rewards they deserve which is no customers to use the venue

We visit regularly to eat because it’s convenient

We have been to Marston's Bayberry in Wichelstowe Swindon since it opened a few years ago. Initially it was a favourite of ours. The food was good, the choices varied and any bar that sold Perrone on tap was fine by me, but above all the attention was the 2 for 1 deal that they have on meals. Their courses though more expensive than those of Harvester and Hungry Horse were generally a better meal and the offer balanced out the price difference.

we have been visiting this pub for quite a while now seen managers come and go but have to say as sad as we were to see James go the new managers are finding their feet quite nicely they are putting on new quizzes ,discos for the kids raising money for students to go to Kenya new year eve parties all this and the quality of the food is still as good as ever nothing is too much trouble fast becoming the heart of the community keep up the good work

ordered 2 x meals, 10 mins later told they had run out of fish so re-ordered. Was informed 40 min wait. The table of 4 who ordered after us had been served, eaten and left. Waited an hour, my partner then asked how much longer. We were then told they had no record of our order. Which table did we quote- 15 we replied as clearly stated in the table. No apology given, just told not to “get stressed” over it and it’s not actually a problem!! The poorest customer service ever. Then another member of staff came over to say another table was “kicking off” as their order hasn’t gone through either.

Originally went to have lunch at the newly opened Hall & Woodhouse but unfortunately they were full booked so as the Baytree was only round the corner we decided to have lunch there. Mistake.

Not very busy, but appeared to only have two bar staff and one in the kitchen, no specials on the board as no deliveries, waited 40 minutes for starters and another 15 minutes for our mains. The only saving grace was the food was good when it did arrive. Table next to us had their burgers between slices of bread as they had run out of buns. Will give it a miss for a while especially as a new place opens nearby in a couple of weeks.
