Great choice and perfectly cooked. With a view out to sea it's a perfect location. Saved the hassle of finding places to eat in town too, Would recommend eating in!

Visited the Bay Tree for 3 nights. Very enjoyable stay with lovely room and great food. Bay Tree is just 5/6 minutes walk into the centre of Broadstairs. Easy to walk into Ramsgate along the beach at low tide. Margate is further but passes along some good beaches. Happy to recommend Bay Tree to all.

I had a most lovely dinner at the Baytree Hotel restaurant before the dastardly coronamania situation reared it’s terrible head. We enjoyed a delicious cauliflower cheese with new potatoes, veggie nut-roast & salmon ceviche whilst my companion gazed longingly out to sea watching the waves before subtly whispering into my ear “Your sesquipedalianism is really obfuscating your pellucidity”. I must say it was the high point of our holiday to the wonderful Broadstairs (-: Delicious food. Recommended!

Dear Robert and all the Bay Tree team We took advantage of your Christmas delivery service and ordered Lunch for Christmas Day and your Boxing Day Box. What a BRILLIANT idea! Our meal was delivered exactly on the time we requested by a very pleasant chap, laden with all sorts of bags and boxes for us. The food we had yesterday was excellent- really beautifully prepared, the main course was HOT too. Today we enjoyed the cold cuts, cheeses, lovely home made chutneys etc- There was plenty for my Wife and I to eat and we ordered ‘For ONE person’ We have yet to finish all these goodies! So a BIG Thank You to you all for coming up with this great idea- saved having to think about and prepare quite a complicated meal- and hope you might do this again some time??? It made our Lockdown Christmas really enjoyable 🎅🏻🙂

While staying at the hotel we had our breakfast and one evening meal in the restaurant. The breakfast room is well laid out and can easily accommodate guests socially distancing, if the weather is good there is also a terrace in the front of the hotel. A full English breakfast is cooked to order with juice, fruit and toast also on offer, and this is included in the room rate if you book directly with the hotel. We also ate here on our first evening, pre ordering our meal when we arrived, we both opted for the fish and chips which was excellent. There is a well-stocked bar at reasonable prices. Alistair and Robert were both very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

We had an incredible lunch for 12 last summer for a special occasion (a bit late in writing this but better late than never!). We had drinks on the terrace first with the incredible view and then a first class meal in a beautiful setting overlooking the sea. Generous interesting and well presented delicious food with the friendly young chef coming to talk to us afterwards as a bonus. It really was faultless.

I visited The Bay Tree Hotel with a friend for an afternoon tea. Considering i was using a Wowcher offer I expected a lesser offering but this was definitely not the case. The staff were friendly and we were sat at the table by the window with a beautiful view of the sea. There was no one else there as we were there quite late in the afternoon but the place still had a nice atmosphere and the Harry Potter themed front room is fascinating. The afternoon tea consisted of sandwiches (lovely and fresh) and the biggest scones I think I have ever seen with a pot of jam and fresh clotted cream. There was also a little dish of Eton mess as well as a lovely cupcake. It’s always nice when they have decaf offerings as well as so many places don’t have decaf tea. It was all delicious and we both struggled to finish it all so took the cupcake home! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will certainly be looking to go back to experience one of the menu tasting evenings. The chef seems extremely passionate and was very friendly. Having read positive publicity in a local magazine about this hotel we decided to book for a meal there on Bank Holiday Sunday. We arrived in good time and noticed there was only 1 couple in the restaurant. As nobody greeted us we wandered through into the reception area where one of the owners was sitting in his office. He suggested we might like to have a drink in the lounge first and so we ordered a bottle of rose which was brought to us by a young waitress who we believe hadn’t been trained. She placed the bottle and 2 glasses in front of us and left. The bottle was warm (it had been a scorching hot day) and still had its cork and wrapper in place! A corkscrew was nowhere to be seen.

We had booked 3 nights B&B; at the Bay Tree and chose to eat in the restaurant on our first night. We had high expectations but they were not met. It was a Monday night and only one other couple was eating so the atmosphere wasn't great (no one's fault just a fact). However my complaint is with the food. My starter was asparagus with duck eggs (plural) and hollandaise sauce. I was told there were no duck eggs so it would be hen eggs. Not the same and there was only one. My "posh" fish and chips comprised two small pieces of cod which were barely warm (not the whole fillet I was expecting) and the "triple cooked" chips looked, well, "single cooked" as they were pale and not very crisp. It certainly wasn't the standard I was expecting. When I told one of the owners about the cold fish he seemed uninterested and just said "I'll tell the chef". I then heard him in the kitchen saying in a loud voice "No 7 table said her fish was cold". Nothing offered to put the situation right. Not at all professional especially for a boutique hotel that has a high opinion of itself. We did enjoy a very nice bottle of wine and my husband had a better meal experience as he enjoyed his starter and his fish was hot but, like me, felt it was overrated and overpriced and wouldn't recommend or return. I've done a separate review for the B&B;.

A brilliant choice , beautifully presented, extremely tasty and the egg was just runny! I followed this with sea bass on a bed of samphire and crushed potatoes surrounded by freshly cooked mussels over which had been poured a delicious sauce. Definitely a winner. The rest of the party were full of praises about their dishes venison, fish and chips, beetroot gnocchi. All of these were accompanied by two bottles of an excellent Rioja. Visited using a very reasonably priced Travelzoo voucher. To be honest it’s probably 3.5 stars so I’ve been generous with the marking. Our party had hake (delicious, highly recommend), lamb (delicious too) and 2 fish & chips. The latter were small portions which suited the diners but were not the large servings given to another table. Rather odd. I’m told the fish was lovely but the chips were hard. Deserts were ok but there was no wow factor. So a mixed bag. From an aesthetic point of view we found the presentation of the property to be excellent unlike other reviewers. Clearly someone has worked hard and spent a lot of money. Service was friendly but a bit haphazard. Would we go back? Maybe. 2 of us enjoyed it, 2 not so. Tried to be fair with this review.

Booked lunch for 1pm with a lovely sunny day ahead. Arrived but noone around to meet & greet us... Guy appeared with duster in hand! Didn’t seem to know what to do and admitted he had only just started. Sat in a room of mishmash chairs which we presumed was part of the hotel? Our expectations suddenly plummeted... taken to restaurant and sat wherever we wanted as there were no other people in there! Expectations plummeted even more... but...menu sounded good. Guy arrived to take order and we chose scallops ( with roe on as we asked for) then Hake and Confit Duck. Very nicely cooked, we enjoyed the food. Criticism is that we had nothing to nibble on whilst waiting for starter... no bread, breadsticks or olives... if we had bread it was chargeable! Chef came to talk to us and very pleasant person. Would we go back? No don’t think so.

An excellent Sunday Roast Dinner in a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the service was first class. Superb location right on the Seafront with un-restricted sea views.

I had never been to the Bay Tree before and did not know what to expect. It was like having Sunday lunch in my own dining room. This is a big positive as it made you feel at home. Floyd was front of house and was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. I am a big fan of linen table cloths and proper napkins and the Bay Tree had both.

I have no idea what it’s like to stay at the Bay Tree, however, I can tell you that there’s a new chef in the restaurant who really knows what he’s doing. Sunday Lunch included the crispiest roast potatoes, tender roast beef, melt in the mouth hispi cabbage and wonderful Yorkshire pudding. The cherry and basil soufflé was impossibly light with a crisp outside and a rich, deep taste. This is real cooking, made from scratch, freshly prepared with true passion.

One of if not the best roast dinner I've had in a long time. This hotel is beautifully renovated to a stylish but still warm and welcoming. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the chef Volodymyr Slobodyan is truly talented and I hate to say this but will surely be 'discovered ' and whisked away to greater things. Get in quick!

We had breakfasts and dinners and the quality of the meals was superb. During our six-week holiday in Europe, I would rate our meals at the Bay Tree as highlights. The restuarant is beautifully decorated and the service was excellent.

Wasn't expecting this . Charming situation overlooking the sea from the cliffs . The restaurant is a part of the hotel which is bright and clean . The staff seem very pleasant and knowledgeable . The menu is a little on the small side but as it is new i think they are trying to do what they do do well . The food was lovely . We never had wine , just beer which was from a local brewery . If you are looking for somewhere new in Broadstairs I suggest you should give this a try . Would have given 5 stars but so new im sure they will get better ( not sure how )

Was staying at the hotel so decided to eat in the restaurant. The room is bright and colourful and looks straight out over Viking Bay. On the second night when the weather was better they had the doors open which was great. The food on both nights was excellent, but on the second night I said I wouldn’t have a pud and they asked my why. I said because nothing appealed. The chef asked me what I liked and I said cherries, and offered to make me a cherry soufflé then and there (not on the menu). What came was an absolutely perfect cherry souffle with a scoop of elderflower sorbet. Impressive. Breakfast was also excellent. One of the best places to eat in the town and very friendly.

Although we only had breakfast in the restaurant on each of the three mornings of our stay the choice and quality was second to none, situated overlooking the sea on a bright summers morning what more could you ask for!

Went in on Sunday for our 1.30pm booking for three of us. Young man appeared in hallway, we said we had booked, he checked, came back and asked if we would like drinks, (no drink menu offered) ordered 2 Pinot Grigio, and Slimline Tonic with Ice and a slice lemon in tall glass. We were shown into a lounge. A few moments later, he re-appeared....sorry run out, so re-ordered Chardonnay, which arrived a little while later, but Tonic water arrived later still in a wine glass, along with the Sunday Lunch Menu, which we ordered from. Two Tempura Veg, and a Scallops & Crab Panna cotta to start, two belly Pork, and a Lamb Tagine for Main. We were shown to a nice table in the Dining room, which had lovely sea views. The food was really tasty, (loved the home made bread), and well presented, although too large a portion, would have been nice to have veg in a separate dish, so could take what you wished. The Cointreau cheesecake was disappointing, and we were not charged for these. Overall, had a very pleasant Lunch, and would return.

We booked an evening meal after reading about the hotel in the local magazine .We preordered our meal as required and arrived at the appointed time. There was no one around so after about a 10 min wait we rang a bell and one of the owners appeared who seemed to have forgotten our booking!! The restaurant was empty so we had a drink on the patio and saw the other owner arrive from a walk with his dog.We went in the restaurant and 5 mins later our meals were served by the guy who just walked in.We heard the microwave ping and our fish pie was basically fish soup ! When we asked for the bill the other owner asked us if we had any drinks even though he served us half an hour before? there was only 2 other people in the restaurant.

A nice spot to stop for a hot or cold drink and ice cream. The service was good and we although not playing at the time of our visit we believe music is played here at various times.

Went for lunch with a friend Have been here before for tea and cake Sat at a table in the sun decided to move when one with a sun shade became free as I got up my brand new trousers caught on 2 prices of the plastic wicker chair that had come losses and were sticking out. I hadn't noticed this when sitting down as I couldn't pull the chair out fully due to lack of space. My trousers were damaged. I informed the waiter who just said sorry, and he would remove the chair. This wasn't done until as we left, I told another member of staff. If I had had bare legs, I would have had a nasty cut. We ordered jacket potato with chilie and salad. Which was quite nice . However my friends coffee was cold. Informed the same male member of staff who said the machine was playing up he took the cup and returned the same half drunk coffee to the table it had obviously just been put in the microwave. Sadly, I now have a damaged pair of trousers that I will have to pay to be mended, and we were not even given a full cup Of fresh coffee. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Watery ice cream - yuck. Unfortunately I think the proprietors forgot to add the ice cream powder to the liquid today. Within 30seconds of having the cones the “ice cream” was melting and it was very watery tasting. It is advertised as Jersey ice cream which surely means it should be creamy?

The QC is a super, traditional pub tucked away in a historic little street in Ramsgate. It is very quirky, friendly, and atmospheric. Well worth a visit for a good pint of Ale.
