Quex Barn in Thanet

We went for lunch on Sunday: it was very busy, staff were rushed off their feet. We had a long wait in noisy restaurant, when food arrived it was very ordinary - not worth the price. Would not recommend.

Popped in for lunch and a quick bite. Ordered the sausage sandwich and a jacket potato. The sausage sandwich came with red onion marmalade and was tasty but huge and so didn't get through it. My jacket potato was a little firm in the middle and the skin was soft. There was a huge amount of beans and a small amount of cheese. It tasted like a microwaved potato rather than done in the oven. Overall it was OK. Wouldn't go rushing back but the food is good enough.

Our first visit here in ages for breakfast. Our food, a full English breakfast and 2 breakfast sausage sandwiches were faultless. Delicious, high quality ingredients and excellent service made for a very enjoyable experience.

If you like your pizza thin and crispy then this is the place for you. I chose the mushroom one and my partner the pepperoni. We loved them!

We ordered via the website for collection. Fairly large order, of 5 pizzas, garlic bread and dough balls. The service was quick and efficient and the food was all delicious. We will definitely be back

Best pizza, cooked as I like them, with a thin homemade dough and only tasty ingredients. The Margherita was always my favourite, then tried it with mushrooms at " Perfect Pizza" and never looked back! 😇 😋 The "Tartufina" is so delicious with its amazing combo of exotic mushrooms, a touch of cream and the tasty truffle that I have it as a treat far too often! 😋😋 as I keep going back and cannot help myself! 😱🪄 Thanks Alberto and Thomas for always make me feel welcomed 😃 The New Belgium Bar doesn't help matter with its great choice of beers also...🍺🍺🍺😃

Went to Quex Park Restaurant for a family Birthday celebration - The Food was absolutely excellent - service from the staff was 100% with nothing too much for them and they were so very helpful & friendly - the room had been arranged to accommodate all of us and everything was just perfect - A big Thankyou to Ian and your staff for a lovely afternoon. Have been to Quex Park before and found whether it’s just for coffee and cake / lunch / or as with a large family celebration the quality of the food and the service is consistent and excellent.

Very disappointed! I am a local and have been coming to Quex park for years. We come for lunch today was about to sit on a table to which I was told not there any other table the only other 4 was dirty so I asked if it could've been wiped over. We sat for 20 mins at the dirty table waiting for A. Someone to take our order and B. Someone to wipe our table. An elderly couple come in 5 mins after us and got served before us whilst we got ignored. I then had to ask for someone to please come over and take our order. Another 15mins later a lady come and I ordered the steak, blue cheese and walnut salad I asked what the home made dressing was to which she told me honey and mustard. I asked if I could have balsamic glaze instead because it was on the menu for something else to which I got told no I can't. I don't know what's happened but it used to be a lovely place to come too and it's gone very downhill.

Oh wow what a great local business. We came for a Mothers day lunch and it was epic, beef was amazing and the veg was fantastic. we finished with a pudding that was the best ever. Thanks so much Quex for providing great local food to people who enjoy food. Oh and the bread rolls are the best ever, sublime!

Absolutely lovely restaurant and food ! I had a club sandwich and it cones with chips and salad, all included in the price ! Think the chips were homemade aswell.. everyone I went with thoroughly enjoyed their meals , the food was just so good . The waitress and waiter were absolutely lovely, I highly recommend the sandwiches. I highly recommend the restaurant too , and absolute pleasure going there ! Thumbs up to the owner and the waitresses :)

Delicious Sunday lunch. The pork was amazing! The only slight gripe was the frozen Yorkshire puddings, home cooked ones would have made all the difference!

We booked the barn restaurant for our Staff Christmas afternoon tea. We were promised a nice table in the warm and cosy Christmasy restaurant but what we got was the back room of the back room that was where they stored the children’s chairs and was the entrance for the kitchen. We were greeted by a couple of grumpy members of staff who could barely bring themselves to serve us we were then served all at once a cold scone full of raisins, a shop bought mince pie, and a slab of Victoria sponge no variation whatsoever three plain sandwiches and that was our afternoon tea. it was absolutely awful. The entire experience was dreadful, and when I called the manager to explain that we were not happy he called me an old lady and nobody gives a $h1t about what you think. Go else where, so many nice places around Thanet - give your money to someone who cares about their customers!!

Food was fine but quite overpriced but was absolutely ruined by the unpleasantness of the staff. We were made to feel like we were in the way and the staff sat around us staring as if waiting for us to leave - not one smile between them. Such a shame as the farm shop is lovely especially the friendly girl at the cheese counter.

An amazing selection of vegan pizzas for me, and the same of non-vegan options for my partner. We usually pick up as we are local, and the staff are always very friendly and lovely when we drop by. I always order the vegan truffle mayo as it is so delicious and they give you a good amount for the cost! If you have room for dessert, the vegan chocolate pizza with cashew cream and cherries is an amazing choice! If you are able to get them delivered to you or are nearby to pick up, I would highly recommend!

Lovely location just on the edge of Birchington. The Barn is a lovely building. Great choice of produce. The restaurant was nice. We went along for Saturday breakfast. The bacon was only just shown some heat, I prefer my bacon to look cooked and as such we left it, such a waste but I dare say we could have asked for it to be cooked some more. A little disappointing.

A lovely little restaurant in a great setting. All of the food was reasonably priced and the portions/quality of the food was amazing. Really impressed with every aspect of the experience and can’t wait to come back!

I can’t rate Quex Barn pizzas highly enough, they are absolutely delicious! We had many friends and family over for the Easter weekend and decided to order ( in advance) pizza for everyone on the Saturday night. We had 20 pizza’s ordered and everyone was so happy with their order. The truffle pizza is my favourite especially with the delicious truffle mayo!

First time visit not impressed the all day breakfast was so small could have been for a child and was over cooked unlike the chips on my and my daughter’s plate they were still raw inside with just a little effort could have been so much better very pricey for what they served

We arrived and it wasn’t very busy. We were told there was no fish but we could have a beef sandwich or hunters chicken .We ordered from a very limited menu. 2 all day breakfasts and 3 macaroni cheeses with chips . My Mac and cheese was cold in the middle it had been warmed in the microwave and I don’t think it was macaroni It was hard dry cold pasta where it had been left made and then heated with grated cheese on the top. it was very dry I told the staff they took it away and brought it back reheated again in a microwave I got a sorry about that . The chips had a taste of potatoes that had been part boiled and left then fried .we asked to see the puddings and were told we have apple crumble with cream or ice cream take your choice . I have been before and had a nice meal but I don’t think I will go again was very disappointed with choices and food . The barn has a good selection of meat ,cheeses, and vegetables so why are they not using them in the restaurant to show off local produce and quality food Instead of the poor quality food that was served for lunch today .

Used twice They have a great menu and vegan choices also as well as meat so we only need one stop for our family needs Delivered on time and they are tasty with great dough Also the olives stater and on the pizzas are fresh in oil so not salty like brine ones You can eat in when the quex barn is open otherwise delivery

My wife and i went here for breakfast recently, we ordered the small breakfast each,and tea for two,the cups were not very clean,nor was the cutlery,we wiped them with the provided napkins,and let it go,our breakfasts arrived,1 sausage,1 rasher of bacon,1 fried egg (overcooked) 1 mushroom (diced) a spoonful of baked beans,half a small tomato,and a slice of toast,I must say it was all very tasty,but unfortunately only luke warm,we both ate it though. The cost was £8 each for the breakfast,and £4.80 for the tea. I personally think that for over £20 for two small breakfasts,you should not be charged that much for 2 teabags,some hot water,and a small jug of milk.paid the bill and left,but wont be going back,many many places to eat breakfast in the area,but for much less of the cost.

We come to this restaurant many times , but are aware the short dark haired lady isn't always pleasant and today was no exception, in fact she was very rude. She rushed us through our order, barking at us that she still didn't understand what we wanted after we repeated it to her again. There were other people nearby that noticed her throwing things around and that she obviously didn't want to be there, this is the last time we will go there.

My friend and I are regulars for lunch at Quex, largely due to our friendly waitress who looks after us every week.Nicky is friendly, funny and attentive. Our lunches are always good and their hand cut chips are the best in Thanet.The cod is superb.

As an Italian myself I can safely say that quex makes the best authentic italian pizze in Thanet.

I go into the restaurant every 2 weeks to meet with a friend. Food is locally sourced and of a high quality. The staff are all always friendly (particularly Nicki). And the environment is warm and welcoming.

Went 20 th oct.asked for a window seat but was told no that's a table for six although diner was empty..pot of tea leaked all over table.no sugar or mayonnaise on the table....for 25 quid I would go elsewhere

First time ordered a collection, base was soft and crisp, sauce tastes authentic (my wife is Italian so I should know) and generous topping. Nice server slash cook who was helpful too. Buying again and driving for collections too as love too far away but will be worth it.

Quex barn is my favourite breakfast in Thanet ! My first bad experience which I was really surprised 😮 was a Sunday afternoon it was busy but not to extent where would have to wait for just under a hour .. I ordered a all day breakfast which is my favourite I asked the waitress if I may have pouches egg like I always do! She said they can’t do the pouched egg has the pans have been washed up ! Ok I said yea will gave Fried which I really couldn’t understand why but wasn’t in the mood to take it further as I was very hungry I ordered a pizza for my daughter form the new pizza restaurant in the shop ..we waited very patiently for 50 mins for the food I could see other tables with looking very much the same as me waiting for a long time .. All they had to say there is 50 minutes wait for food then I am sure customers would understand no communication the staff where awful .. The pizza came out with no knife to cut no plate I asked the waiter if I could I have a box to takeaway the pizza that was left I was ignored!!! The pizza wasn’t great the cheese was like rubber the sauce was to spicy has it was only a margarita.. very disappointed ☹️. My breakfast came out with chips it I asked the waitress why have I got chips on my breakfast I didn’t order them she said that’s how it comes which I know it doesn’t as had breakfast many times at the quex !

loved it best pizza I've ever had the whole family really enjoyed the meal.

Mixed experience. Chaotic and inattentive service. Appeared that no one was managing the covers. The person who served drinks almost managed to spill the drinks across the table. Had the service been better, the pricing would seem fairer for basic but good food. Sufficiently dissatisfied to not want to bother with the farm shop. Always frustrating to see independent business with so much potential missing the mark.

I ordered from here on the 'Just Eat' website a few times and it is so wonderful to find delicious authentic pizzas that are vegan too. They are 'AMAZING' and so unusual. My favourite is the aubergine and the creamy mushroom. The garlic bread is great too. They are really big and incredible value for money in comparison to what is available elsewhere. They do regular meat and cheese versions too. Great option if you have a vegan coming over and don't know what to give them :-)

I have been to this place quite a few times as we live local, each time you feel like you are in the way. We stayed onsite for a few days and went to have breakfast. We had rude staff and in the end left to go to somewhere where we knew we would actually get a smile! Never done a negative review but after multiple times I’m sick of their attitudes and will not be trying again!
