This is a little gem of a beachside cafe that serves a great choice of vegetarian food. It also has a view over the sea that always makes the world a better place . I always find that my gluten free requirements are never too much trouble which is also a huge plus for me! And the staff are kind, understanding and happily answer any questions.

A little gem of a cafe. Beautiful location on the beach, nice and tidy seating area. Delicious food, I chose the Reuben Sandwich on my last visit and it was one of the best I've had, it's always my favourite. Super friendly owners and staff. Very dog friendly, pay them a visit 💯

Went for lunch with a group of friends on a blustery day, one friend is gluten intolerant, one vegetarian and one just plain fussy! Richard went above and beyond to ensure our requests were met! Food was delicious and I had a really decent cup of tea. Definitely will return!

Edited to add, I gave you £12:20 for a £12:10 bill, I thanked you when I collected our food and when I collected my friends drink, I did not thank you when I left because you had been petty and put less filling in my roll because I’d dated query your pricing, I am NOT an awful person but I do expect a decent amount of customer service, im sorry you were already having a bad day, that is not your customers fault. The customer service at this place is atrocious, they made me feel unwelcome from the start, it’s not obvious that is a vegan place as the menu for sausage baguette or brioche bun was was written in a way that would lead you to believe there were 3 options available! After I queried paying £1:60 for a £1:00 price marked can of drink they argued that it was a recommended retail price and started ranting about their overheads and not being a big business, then adding that they’d picked up the wrong ones anyway, good customer service then would have been to graciously sell it for the £1:00 it was priced at as a price marked item is not a recommendation, they did say they would then charged full price, when I queried again they reluctantly gave me the difference back, the worst part of this interaction was when the food arrived they were obviously so petty that they put one tiny sausage in the bun, this is disgusting customer service, I did not give them the satisfaction of challenging them but instead they can have this review! It’s a real shame they behaved that way as that could be a great little business if only they knew how to treat people, it’s also a shame as the food was actually nice but they will NOT be getting my custom again.

The café now opens on a more regular basis when the weather is good. The vegan fish & chips (banana blossom) was the best anywhere but has not been popular. The food, cakes and vegan sausage roll is different to others they are lovely and the messiest to eat ones are very popular. You can visit from West St. Leonards Rail station or cycle from Ore Hastings, Bex Hill the cycle route is lovely and this is a perfect stop off. The bathing hut café is the most calming place, and it hosts other food pop-ups sometimes. I usually bring my own mug, pictured and the toasted sandwich was when Plant the Seed ran a pop-up.

The food was....edible but barely better than something you'd buy in Iceland. The place is hidden away and I imagine that it doesn't get too many tourists passing through. The service was grumpy at best. Honestly, I will probably just buy a sandwich and sit on the beach next time.

Lovely spot, could be so much better! We have ate here in the past and it’s been fine but so disappointed today to spend £8.50 on what was described as a “Reuben” sandwich but was filled with some kind of Marie Rose sauce 🤢 loads of cheese, a tasteless vegan pastrami and a few strands of sauerkraut. Very disheartening as we bought two. Won’t be returning ☹️

Cool place to stop and refuel whilst walking along the beachfront between St Leonards and Bexhill. Right on the beach, so great views. Had sausage and onions in a baguette, which was good (I believe all food options are veggie....but the sausage was great). Coffee was a bit average tbh....would probably go for a straight black coffee. But as I say, sunshine and a great view cancels out bland coffee!

We were using our son’s beach hut for the day and he said “if you get hungry there’s a cafe nearby”. About 2pm we did become hungry so I set off to the cafe expecting to buy a couple of sandwiches. The cafe is an open air area with a few tables on artificial grass and a superb sea view. Service is from a shed or trailer (I didn’t look that closely at the structure because I was so astonished by the menu). No sandwiches here. Instead an imaginative range of salads and light eats with a Mediterranean feel. We had two salads comprising slow roasted aubergine with black olives, falafel, hummus, cherry tomatoes and rocket and instensely flavoured vegan sausage rolls. All home made and very very tasty. No need to take a picnic to St Leonard’s beach ever again.

I love the setting of The Bathing Hut. They are open in lockdown, provide benches to sit on while waiting for the takeaway, and hang out, in the open air, over the beach. They more than try with vegans too. Had a vegan tofu thing yesterday...adapted from the haloumi burger that was on the menue...it was lovely...I do like it when cafes are flexible. I don't rate the coffee...but the rest is so redeeming it still has a 5. The bill came to £14...that was for a tea, an oat milk coffee, my tofu thing and a haloumi burger

I've been visiting The Bathing Hut a fair few times, looking for the flag that indicates they are open. The food is excellent and unusual too, a fave is halloumi, leafy salad with baby tomatoes, avocado on sourdough toast. The coffee is excellent and the cakes v moorish. Fully recommend this place as a stop when walking my dog to Bulverhythe beach, rocks and bridge. A quaint cafe not selling the usual fry ups, v enjoyable food. Thank goodness for this little gem of a spot that we stumbled upon on a hot sunny day. We arrived in good time, hot freshly baked sourdough bread had just come out the oven and I ordered some drizzled in olive oil and topped with avocado....so so delicious, it's been three days later and my toddler (who doesn't usually like avocado on bread) asked " can we go back to the place with the hot bread?" We also orders a sweet potato sausage roll, fresh homemade elderflower cordial and a flapjack...all was superb! The owners were so welcoming and friendly and genuinely happy to serve their great food. We are local to St Leonard's and will definitely be back!

My partner and I came here for a date night to go for their meal for 2 - Rib Eye steaksand chips on a Saturday for £35. Alicia and Siobhan made sure to make our night very tailored and catered to, and our food came out promptly and cooked exactly as per our specifications. As a local in Hastings I can easily recommend this place for an enjoyable night out for couples. The meal comes with a bottle of house wine, and chunky chips and a portobello mushroom, well cooked and seasoned. Good value for money but by far the main selling point for this venue is the customer service and catering as the staff are very attentive and caring.

Both me and my daughter was starving so put that to the side. Got home and both chicken and chips very oily. The last couple of days both me and my daughter have had severe diarhea which (sorry for tmi) smells of the fried chicken. Avoid at all costs!!
