Decisión de última hora para 5 de nosotros ir a comer. Como siempre el personal aquí nos hizo sentir bienvenidos (especialmente porque estaba cerca de la hora de cierre). La comida estaba excelentemente preparada y muy sabrosa. Todos teníamos algo diferente y todo tenía un sabor distinto. El personal participó en una buena conversación y bromas. Incluso cuando pedí algunos Bhajis de Cebolla para llevar a casa con mi pareja, así que me metí en problemas, los hicieron por mí como agradecimiento de ellos. El mejor lugar y no puedo esperar para volver de nuevo

Tuvimos una increíble comida familiar y sacamos a los viejos a divertirnos... Partido de 10. Comida increíble. El personal no podría haber sido más atento pero no sofocante como algunos lugares. Como dije la comida era brillante. Y haber estado en la India la comida era auténtica para aquellos que querían eso, así como tradicional. 10 / 10 caballeros! Gracias por hacer una noche tan familiar de primera categoría!

Excellent service, lovely staff super friendly and kind, food was outstanding and restaurant very clean. Would highly recommend for meal or celebration.

We had our meal delivered to home. It was a few minutes later than planned, but being a Saturday evening, that's not a problem. The only thing that let it down was that the starters were not very hot.

I’ve been coming to the Basmati for 20 + years, and it continues to provide great food and service every time. Tito and his team were brilliant throughout, from helping to put together the itenary for the evening, going the extra mile in setting up the restaurant in making it feel special, providing flowers and birthday cake for my wife, and above all looking after us all night, with quality food that we have become use to. My favourite Indian restaurant to go to. I love that they accommodate to any alterations and even better, the food comes out perfect and so tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Always a great night out. You can’t go wrong! Have been a regular customer for the last 15 years but they seem to get better ever time we go.

I visited this restaurant twice in two weeks. The food is really good, I had the Chicken Dahnsak (no idea how to spell it) with a peshwari naan which has delicious. Although the interior is a bit faded I still rate it five stars because of the owners , who are lovely people, they gently guide you through the menu with humour and grace and they make the whole experience complete. Anytime I’m in Southampton I will always eat here.

I had dinner at Basmati tonight in Southampton (15th July) and I couldn't recommend it enough. I had the Lamb rogen josh and the lamb was cooked beautifully and very tender. The rice and naan were also amazing. Overall a fantastic meal. Will return if in Southampton again.

Regularly visit this restaurant, normally great food and welcome. However, the more mature chap that always insists on taking the order was particularly more abrupt and “grumpy” when we visited- I normally ignore, but as the food was mediocre, I felt I needed to comment as there are other Indian restaurants in the area. My chicken Bslti was very sour.

We were visiting friends in the area who had booked this restaurant, none of us had been before. We were are very happy! Lovely food, great service and very reasonably priced - cheaper than most I’ve been too. Would definitely recommend!

I’ve been using Basmati for many years. I’ve dined in the restaurant and had takeaways. Delicious food every time and the best curry house in the area.

We order a delivery from Basmati pretty much every Thursday for movie night and it is always excellent. We have ordered from other local takeaway restaurants in the past but have had to move on after disappointing experiences. We recognise how difficult it is to provide a consistent level of quality, but this team seem to get it right every time and are lovely and courteous to us both at order and on delivery. Love it.

Awful food and overpriced, better off with a Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodle. Was in Southampton for work and was craving an Indian.

Went in early. Excellent menu choice and great food. Staff friendly and you can use Meerkat Deal on given days.

Poor service and average food. The restaurant wasn't busy but we had to wait a long time for everything. The food wasn't great, so we won't be returning.

Wow! Oily prawns, poor quality main…. To the point I had to go and get a steak knife to cut the lamb! Not what I was expecting, having been to the restaurant many times. The samosas were 👌

Visited on a Friday evening to a full restaurant which is always great to see. Given a table god six and orders taken for drinks, after 20 minutes we had to remind waitress we were yet to receive our drinks. After 30 minutes we eventually got some drinks and our food order taken. Another hour goes by after several apologies for delay and food arrived. Food all looked nice but I think the kitchen lost their spices !! Food was very bland and tasteless. It’s a shame because we were looking forward to the night out. May give them a second chance if other reviews improve

Possibly the worst restaurant manager this side of Brick Lane. Ignored us for the good part of 15 minutes, only to tell us to “wait” when we asked if we might order drinks. He is the master of the pointed and raised finger, best put to use when wanting people to be quiet. Blessed be the kitchen because thank God the food was great.

Friday evening visit with family. Despite the restaurant being packed full, we received first class service. The food arrived promptly and every dish we ordered was just right. It was good to see plenty of staff to keep everything running smoothly. Will be back soon.

I have been having curry’s for 50+ years and have had my share of bad curry’s . But tonight takeaway ranks up in the top tier

Food was average and found multiple hairs in my chicken tikka masala, so could not finish my meal. Naan bread was soggy. Overall really disappointing, would not go back EVER.

Ordered Madras and Jalfrezi - both had not flavour or spice - garlic nan had no garlic - very very disappointing

We’re new to the area looking for a new Indian takeaway to try and were hopeful when we saw the good reviews, but we would have been better off going to get a supermarket, microwave Indian. Both curries (Balti and Jalfrezi) lacked flavour, spice and had a greyish tinge to them. The poppadoms tasted like they’d been made 3 days ago and the garlic naan was rubbery with no hint of garlic. Basically, save your money and head to the supermarket, it’ll be cheaper, quicker and have more flavour.

Extremely disappointing, arrived 30mins past delivery time, cold bland and swimming in water. Burnt popadom’s and side dishes. Debatable whether good enough for the foxes. Prices inflated on deliveroo. Better Indian’s in the area.

Terribly disappointed after waiting a long while to have an Indian takeaway from here to see if it had changed much in quality, felt let down. Their Garlic Chilli Chicken and Korai lacked spice and sat a pool of oil on top. Pilau rice was clumped together with partial parts undercooked (hard like pellets) the (Keema + Cheese) naans were ok. Expected more after rave reviews seen online as of late. Really disappointed, will be using Indian Summer in future.

Ordered from here after cracking reviews on a local Facebook site. Unfortunately as soon as the food was delivered we noticed were missing the poppadoms. We called it in and we’re promised free poppadoms and a curry next time. The food overall was ok, although the chicken in the chicken tikka masala was a bit tough and didn’t taste great. The mixed grill was good and the Chana baazi was lovely. In summary, food ok but make sure you check you order... will be back to claim the food we have already paid for (and the free curry!) but not the tikka masala.

Terrible take away from here tonight. Curries were grey, watery and a fine layer of oil on top. The lamb tikka was tough as old boots, the dal was tasteless and too runny. Flavour was missing in every dish.Shame as we used to like eating here. They really need to up their game in lock down !

Not exactly what we were expecting after reading the reviews. We entered and was a bit surprised at the abrupt manner of the waiter. Before we had even got our bums on our seats he wanted to take our drinks order.The menu described the chicken shaan as having 3 of the hottest chillies - I think they forgot to put them in mine. There was no colour to the food and it was totally lacking in flavour and spice. The rice was nothing like it was described on the menu - totally tasteless.Veg biriani wasn't much better - it was hotter than my dish but again lacking in spice.They overcharged us on the bill too.Not in a hurry to return. Atmosphere, service and food bland and tasteless.

Thanks for a fantastic meal last night. Poppadums, chutneys and onion bajis, fabulous, chicken balta and lamb korai... really good..Your restaurant was very very clean, waiters wearing masks and social distancing - we felt relaxed and very safe, a very enjoyable evening out!

Me quedé lejos debido a una discusión en toda regla con el patrón grosero una vez (lo siento, no puedo recordar su nombre) esto fue hace mucho tiempo, pero se dice que ya no está trabajando allí. ! ! ¡Y el simpático joven del bar también lo confirmó! La comida para llevar (tuve el pollo tika shabaz) fue maravillosa, llena de sabor y no puedo esperar a volver y cenar pronto con la familia. Well the takeaway was a 100 out of 100 totally outstanding Staff very helpful and couldn't fault them at all Would definitely recommend all day long and will be visiting again

Basmati is my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. Always deliver great food with top customer service.

We have now had two excellent meals from here during the lockdown while they are offering delivery too. Lovely food and great customer service. Willing to recommend curries to suit our tastes and delivered on time Would highly recommend

We have been going to the Basmati at Locks Heath for a few years and in the past enjoyed the food and experience. We went for a sit down meal in January and had issues with one of the main courses where the meat was really over-cooked, the staff told us it was meant to be like that as it was kebab style. After a while they accepted it was simply over cooked. This put us off a little bit but we put it down to being a ‘one-off’... Last night it was my birthday and, as the weather was too bad to walk to the restaurant, we ordered a take-away. When we got it home it was all lukewarm and needed re-heating, we live a 5-minute drive from the restaurant so this was poor. Both meals were extremely bland with little or no detectable spicing. My King Prawn Rogan Josh meal was ‘gloopy’ and the sauce had literally no taste whatsoever. We should have taken the food back but, honestly, it’s the last thing you feel like doing after settling down for a night in. I gradually started to feel unwell and after 30 minutes was violently sick. That’s it, we are never going back to the Basmati, it definitely has got issues now. I’ve read in Trip Advisor that it only has a one star for hygiene, I feel I’ve been a victim of that now. It’s such a shame that this restaurant has gone downhill.

Been using this restaurant and the takeaway for years, never had a bad meal, excellent variety of dishes. My favourite is the Lamb Dansak, the meat is always tender and just the right amount of spice. Staff always friendly and very good at accommodating food allergies.

Busy tonight but never too busy for a pleasant greeting here. The Lamb Jakfrezi was so tender, this was one of the best we've ever had. Fantastic service as usual, another great evening.

Accompanying friends to their local Indian we were pleasantly surprised as the location was in a shopping centre. However on entering the restaurant it was nicely decorated, had a good busy atmosphere and the staff were really welcoming.The food was really tasty and we couldn’t fault it. We would def return!

Posiblemente la peor comida india que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. Pedimos una comida para llevar y la recogimos a la hora sugerida. Toda la comida tuvo que ser recalentada ya que estaba muy fría, aunque estábamos a menos de 5 minutos de viaje. Al abrir los cartones, los curries parecían insípidos, grises y sombríos. No había absolutamente ningún aroma a especias y, lamentablemente, las comidas eran tan suaves e insípidas como parecían. El pollo estaba duro y seco y las pequeñas gambas del "rey" estaban totalmente recocidas. El arroz pilau y el ajo naan carecían igualmente de cualquier sabor. Llegamos a la conclusión de que era calor y servir comida, directamente de un frasco o un paquete. De cualquier manera, no se repetirá. .

Had a lovely meal at Basmati, menu had lots of choice and reasonably priced. Staff were pleasant and we were given a nice big table which made room for all the dishes. Will be back again as food was great - thanks!

We booked a table online for New Years Eve, we arrived 10 minutes early to be told by a very rude man that we had no booking , I showed him my booking email , he turned away muttering something! Another man said don’t worry we will find you a table! At this point there was only 3 tables being used! We were shown to a table for 2 , and given drink menu , the first rude man then arrived at the table with food menu , asked to hurry up and choose drinks as they needed table back , we ordered our drinks , back he came with them and to take food order, you order quickly we need table he said! I pointed out that we had actually booked and it wasn’t our fault! Food came out very quickly, but was nothing special! We felt hurried and unwelcome , something I pointed out when we paid our bill! But they didn’t seem to care , very unpleasant experience would certainly never return

Thursday is the day for looking after our granddaughter so it's always a pleasure to finish the evening here. Great menu choices, exceptional service and atmosphere.

This place was just odd Service odd Food odd Food Hygiene rating of may have contributed to slightly odd after effects... Didnt expect perfection, but this was not somewhere I will come back to.

Teníamos una mesa para 12 personas reservadas y el personal era muy servicial, habían preguntado si era para una ocasión especial y mencionamos que era para un cumpleaños en la calle 21. La comida valió la pena, tuve un plato de chuleta de cordero y teníamos unos cuantos curry para compartir entre nosotros que estaban muy calientes. Al final, trajeron un trozo de tarta para la cumpleañera que nos sorprendió gratamente. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente!

Excellent service and a great curry! They did not rush you but it came out promptly and hot! Very accommodating with how hot you want it which suited me! Would highly recommend!

I use this curry house on average twice a month and I have never had a bad meal, the staff are really friendly and you get 10% discount on takeaways if you pay cash.

Called in after a day of house clearing and since this could be going on for some time, it seems a good idea to spy out the land!Simple meal of chicken tikka starter followed by chicken korai an channa masala. The chicken in both cases was great, moist and tender. The korai sauce was wonderful, flavoursome and rich. The food was served nice and hot and the portions were, for me good.Definitely on my list to visit again

Hizo un pedido por teléfono, me informaron que estaban muy ocupados y que serían alrededor de 45 minutos. Fuimos a recoger 45 minutos más tarde para encontrar el pedido que ni siquiera había pasado a la cocina; está bien, todos cometemos errores, pero luego mentimos y decimos que alguien con el mismo nombre había recogido su pedido. I don’t usually write reviews for places but I feel a little disappointed and so wanted to pass my feedback in for others to be aware. We were going to go to whiteley to eat for a friends birthday but I pay for a taste card and it said on there, 2 for 1 for up to six people so we decided to book here. When we went to pay though they said we would only have one curry taken off the bill not three, I queried this and they said we would need two taste cards, which we had anyway, but had we not and for other groups I think this is so misleading. I had mentioned I had the card on the phone and again when we arrived checking it was 2 for 1 and at no point was told it was for two people. Also it doesn’t really make much sense that with two cards you get three curry’s taken off but with one you get one? I wouldn’t mind if it was only for one free if that’s what’s advertised but it’s really not and they need to discuss this with taste card I think to make it clear to customers. We have eaten in the Petworth Basmati and loved it, the staff were so friendly, here most of the staff were very pleasant but one was quite rude and didn’t crack a smile all evening, he made me feel really uncomfortable and like I was a nuisance being there. When it came to paying the bill we had been charged for 11 popadoms which came to just less than £9! We had six which were on the menu for 50p each so still no where near £9, having looked on trip advisor they charge you extra for the dips they bring with it. I actually wouldn’t have minded paying but again it’s really misleading for customers and not the first place we’ve been as a big group where they overcharge you and hope you don’t notice. The food was as always excellent (we usually get take away, this is the first time in the restaurant). It is just such a shame it was let down by poor service. I wouldn’t visit again but would get their take away.

We dined as a family, with teenage children. Even the excellent service was surpassed by the outstanding food. Some of the best curries I have tasted. Not a scrap left afterwards..we all enjoyed everything we had.

We went early on a Monday evening and it was encouraging to see a family already eating. A large party also came in before we left. The food was very good but they didn’t spice mine up as requested. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We came having seen lots of great recommendations on the local Facebook page for Locksheath.We were greeted warmly and given a table despite not having booked.Our drinks order was taken quickly and they swiftly returned for our food order.We had onion bhajis and veg samosas. The bhajis were dry but edible and the samosas were a bit tough, neither had great flavour and the mint sauce was bland.My chicken tikka patia was ok, but my plain rice was long grain and not basmati which was just strange for an Indian restaurant. My husband had butter chicken and it lacked flavour.We won’t return which is a shame as it’s the only Indian restaurant we can walk to but I’d rather get the car out.

Just visited this restaurant and was disappointed when we came to pay £3.30 for 2 poppadoms ..their excuse we had pickles.....RIP OFF

Era la segunda vez que utilizaba este lugar y estoy muy decepcionada de que nos hayan mentido por teléfono, nos informaron (a las 20, 45) que la cocina cierra a las 21. 30 (la hora de cierre indicada en la web / menú es 23. 00) y que debemos llegar antes para cenar. En esa ocasión, llevamos una comida para llevar y eso fue genial, sin problemas. Great atmosphere, staff friendly but not overwhelming, prices as expected and food very tasty. Plenty of parking ....with lots of disabled parking close by.

Came here for a meal out with my husband on a rare child free evening.Easy online reservation of the table earlier in the day via their website.Arrived 20 minutes early (hooray for the childcare!) And only had to wait a couple of minutes for them to organise our table which wasn't an issue.Prompt waiters, good quality food and fantastic friendly service from any and all staff we encountered made this a lovely evening.We will be happily recommending this restaurant and probably returning to try the takeaway option at some point.

Enjoyed the curry and accompaniments, good flavour, good portion and nice and hot. Will be back to sample more of the menu.

Had a meal here tonight to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Food was excellent and the staff were very efficient, friendly and obliging. It’s our local Indian restaurant and we continue to go back there as we always enjoy it.

Mi esposo y yo acabamos de tener una excelente comida en el Basmati. Compartimos un plato de kebab mixto que fue seguido por un Korai para mí y un tikka shobuz de pollo para mi esposo, que complementamos con un arroz especial. No pudimos criticar nada de eso, fue absolutamente delicioso. El ambiente es muy acogedor y la música muy relajante. El personal es muy servicial y amable. Bien hecho Basmati sin duda volveremos

Reservé una mesa para dos en el día y conseguí una mesa para la misma noche. El restaurante está muy bien decorado y las mesas tampoco están muy juntas. El personal era amable y respondió a cualquier pregunta que teníamos sobre el menú. La comida llegó rápidamente y estaba muy rica. Los poppodoms y dips fueron algunos de los mejores que hemos tenido y las raciones eran realmente buenas. No pedimos el postre, ya que estábamos tan llenos de nuestros entrantes y platos principales, pero definitivamente probaremos la próxima vez. El estacionamiento es gratuito después de las 6 en el centro comercial de las cerraduras y también ofrece un servicio de cortesía si no quiere comer en el restaurante.

Very good food and plenty of choice at a reasonable price. Best to book as it can get fairly busy, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

Had a takeaway which we ordered in advance! We were able to pick up bang on time. Food was lovely. Would order from here again.

I ordered a take away as my usual is closed for refurb. I am always open to trying a new place so they had an opportunity here..They were accommodating when I ordered a dish off menu and advised 35 min pick up time. I arrived slightly before the 35 mins but then waited about another 20 for my food.Most of the order was ok, not amazing but ok but the naan bread was burnt to an inedible foul tasting crisp and the sag chicken had no taste whatsoever! It was as if the chef forgot to out any spice of flavour in at all.. When they don't deliver and you have to invest further time to go and correct this I just can't be bothered and will not return for a second chance..I have never had such a tasteless dish from any Indian before.. With a popular nearby takeaway out of action for a few weeks you would think they would be out to surpass expectations.

The drunk waiter was more amusing than annoying. He broke a glass when he tried to fill it and asked us if we were ready to order when we were about to pay the bill at the end of the meal. The main problem was that my husband's meal came about 10 minutes after mine. I didn't want to eat my meal while he sat and watched me so instead I waited for his meal to come and ended up eating lukewarm food. Not good. The other problem was that there was a lot of onion in our food - even the rice had onion in it! In spite of all the onion, there wasn't a huge amount of flavour.

My partner and I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening. We chose this restaurant as we wanted a proper leisurely sit down meal to take our time over. We were greeted promptly and taken to our table. Our drinks and papadom order was taken and delivered to us quickly. The restaurant was modern and clean and service was great throughout the evening even when they got busier. Our meal was cooked beautifully, it tasted good and was presented well. It was brought to us in a timely manner so that we weren't waiting too long between courses but didn't feel rushed, they allowed us to enjoy our dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive; present when we wanted something but not hovering over us. This is the best Indian meal that we have had in a long time. We will definitely return. Thank you very much to all the staff who made this a most enjoyable evening.

We booked a table for 8 at 7.15.p.m. on a Friday evening. We were asked about drinks fairly swiftly and ordered some papadoms . They came after about 10 minutes. It was then an hour until they took our food order which was mains and side dishes. The food eventually arrived at 8.45.p.m. one and half hours after we had arrived. Every ones food was good but the wait was atrocious. It was to busy for them. They should reduce the bookings and improve the service. It is the first time ever that I have not given a gratuity. We shall not return which is a shame because the food was good

Picked up a takeaway from here after dropping off a friend after the football. A friendly welcome awaited us as we entered . Restaurant was nicely decorated and seemed to have a nice atmosphere, we were advised of a twenty minute wait so retired to the nearby Strawberry Fields pub for a pint and a wait. Food was ready when we returned and was still piping hot when we got home and we live a good 15 mins away. Good quality food when we did eat it too. If I have to drop my mate off again, I'll return!

Positives: nice atmosphere . Good service Negatives: food is not tasty at all, very bland. Pretty damning given they are a restaurant. Quality of meat is just ok not great. We wouldn’t go back here in a hurry. Problem is that there aren’t any good Indian restaurants in Locksheath /Warsash area, so we always have to drive.

Had Dinner here with family on a Friday night. Located in a shopping centre the restaurant is popular but quite small and caters for both on site and take away dining. Accordingly we needed to book in order to secure a table as the restaurant was full.Given the number of patrons, the staff were quite stressed but worked hard to provide an attentive service. The food was all excellent and the chicken particular soft and succulent. All the food and beers were reasonably priced with a good selection of traditional and specialty dishes available.

I have eaten here a couple of times with my partner and we have found the food absolutely delicious. The service is prompt and efficient, and all dishes and drinks beautifully served. The restaurant is clean and well decorated and the staff smart and immaculate. If I could make one small criticism- the staff seemed a bit cool, not very smiley or friendly, but they were extremely busy on the nights we visited and may have felt harassed. Despite the restaurant being packed to capacity, service was still brisk and prompt. Do try it if you like Indian food, and especially if you are vegetarian as there are many good choices.

Despite living a 10 minute walk away, this was our first visit. There appeared to be an issue with our booking, despite booking through their own website and having the confirmation, they didn’t have an allocated table for us and we weren’t on their list, however this was quickly resolved and we were seated very quickly.Quite an extensive menu and plenty to choose from. The staff were very friendly and it was clear that they were very busy 2 days before Christmas, yet we didn’t have a long wait for each course.Very tasty food with lots of flavour but not too hot or spicy.We will definitely be visiting again, and don’t forget that with the Gourmet Society card it’s buy one main get one free.

We've been a few times and had take away but last night was disappointing. Partners starter was tiny. My chicken bhuna was like chicken with gravy over the top. Partners Lamb lots of fat and gristle and tasted like chip shop pie filling., It was supposed to be lamb rogon well it look or taste like it. I did complain and they said because they were busy that was the reason meal was poor and gave us discount for one meal. But we won't be going there again in the near future even though the only one local to us.

Had another geat evening. All 10 of us enjoyed the lovely food on offe and the friendly, excellent service, all at a very reasonable price. We have been before and will return again. You won't be disappointed with a trip to this restaurant and you can park right outside the door in the Locks Heath Centre car park.

I haven't had a curry in a while, on the basis that there are no curry houses where I live (Whiteley) and therefore getting a takeaway usually consists of driving - or receiving one luke-warm so I was looking forward to going out and trying Basmati as I had heard good things.When we arrived around 19:30, there were a few tables in the restuarant and a nice calm atmosphere. We were warmly greeted and seated. I advised we had a Tastecard and our waiter explained that this would give us the cheapest curry free but recommended we go for their Sunday menu instead which was a starter, curry and rice/naan for a set price (which I've forgotten - sorry). We opted for that. We started with poppadoms. These came with 4 chutneys which were all homemade and so tasty. My partner ordered Prawn Puri and I ordered Onion Bhaji to start. My partner said his was nice and mine was good (however slightly overdone but still had great flavour). For main, my partner asked for a creamy curry with a medium heat and was served one which was a lighter colour than a korma but had no spice. We informed our waiter who was very quick to have spice added to this in the kitchen and it came back in good time. My partner really enjoyed it. I ordered the Chicken Korma which was wonderful. The sauce was nice and thick and sweet. Sadly, I had eaten so much to start - I could hardly eat much of it! We had an Onion Rice and Pilau Rice with a Plain Naan - all hot and tasty. We asked for our bill and I added a tip as we were really impressed with both the service and food. I'd been telling the waiter the whole time how tasty the Mango Chutney was and he came out with two pots for me to take home which was very sweet.This will definitely be our go-to Indian in the future.

We booked for 10 people,We had a very good meal and service was good, but after settling the bill for £326, i asked a member of staff what time they closed and the answer was 11.00pm, this was about 10.30. After about 5 minutes we were then asked to leave because they wanted to go home.It seemed as soon as we paid they had no interest in us and could not wait to get rid of us.A GREAT BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION SPOILED RIGHT AT THE END, I SHALL THINK TWICE ABOUT RETURNING!!

Oredered from here at the weekend as a birthday treat as heard good things. The prices are a little higher than most takeaways but I thought this would be down to quality, I was wrong. I picked up the food and drove home which is 2-3 minutes away, the first thing I noticed was it was all luke warm. We had a couple of tandoori starters which tated nice but were cold and had to be reheated.I had a garlic chili lamb curry which had no heat and certainly no real flavour. The lamb itself was soft and tasteless. I had Keema rice which again had no real flavour to it. The saag paneer tasted nice but the cheese was minimal and was just a bit of cheddar not traditional Paneer so just gave it a stringy look and no additional flavour or texture. I ordered a cheese naan and ended up with a chilli naan so they got that wrong. I could have dealt with that but it was tiny and tasted 2 days old. #The mint sauce with the poppadoms was the only really nice part of the meal to be honest. Small portions, bland cold food, high prices. I really won't be going here again. If you want a nice curry I'd suggest the Park gate Tandoori or Moja, both are near by.

We were in Southampton for the weekend & went to Basmati. The food was amazing & great service. Will be back if we visit again I highly recommend it

We were impressed by the prompt reply when we phoned to place a takeaway order, and the staff member was very polite- this gave a very good first impression. We collected our order after the 35 mins, as suggested, and the food was lovely. The chicken tikka shobuz was especially tasty, and the chicken perfectly tender. We noticed that the restaurant was very busy, which must be a good sign. We are keen to return here, maybe have a sit-down meal next time.

Estábamos lejos para el fin de semana y encontramos este restaurante. El personal era bueno. Decoración muy buena.Siempre tengo un pollo en un restaurante de comida india y Dhansac han hecho durante muchos años. Consiste de un grueso Dhansac lentejas salsa pea chick que es normalmente caliente, dulce y amarga.. Sin embargo, el dhansak en este lugar era como una pasta espesa de salsa espesa no lentejas o chick pea en vista. No tenía ningún sabor. El pollo estaba dura, y apenas cinco piezas. Mi compañero tenía un plato especial de cordero de la sección especial de chefs del menú. Era difícil y comestible. Bhaji de cebolla fueron cremado y el arroz estaba seco como una zapatilla como antiguo.De verdad chicos que necesitas para probar su comida antes posiblemente se pone a sus clientes porque era el peor curry que hemos tenido y creo que yo he tenido algunos en mis tiempos en todo el mundo.Tienes 2 estrellas porque el personal fue bueno.

Mi marido y yo decidimos en una noche romántica cita aquí. Cuando llegamos estaba completamente muerto. Así que al elegir veces les recomendaría ir después de las 7, donde el ambiente es un poco mejor y no es tan raro ser el único Inés en la habitación. . . Pero desgraciadamente más tarde puede venir a un precio con el servicio muy lento.En principio el servicio fue muy rapido y amable, pero como el servicio lento y nos dejó de ser en realidad dos veces por nuestras bebidas. Aparte de eso, la comida era adorable con buena presentación. Con unas pocas bromas raro viniendo de los camareros.Para el primer plato que teníamos de la sheek kebab estaba seco y el cordero era duro con un negro, que era un poco confuso.La principal de chile ajo pollo sabía como no había ajo (así que quizás me dieron mal el uno como tenían que corregirlos nosotros cuando diciendo el nombre de mi plato) y el budín de mal sabor menta parecía jarabe de gris, desde mi experiencia, le daría a este restaurante 2 estrellas principalmente la comida esta abajo.

Excelente relación calidad-precio en un domingo por la noche. Buena comida. Un gran servicio. El curry es bueno (y lo ha sido durante los veinte años que he estado visitando). We only spotted it by accident as it is slightly hidden away. It is worth a visit. £30 bought us a drink each, poppadoms, starter each, 2 main courses, 1 special fried rice and a garlic naan. All were beautifully cooked and tasted excellent.

We decided to eat a takeaway and ordered from the Basmati in Locks Heath. It was utterly delicious, so much better than other takeaways we have eaten.
