Empire Kitchen in Fareham

In a word - sensational. When I first considered ordering from Empire Kitchen around a year ago now, I was a little apprehensive as it wasn't a 'pure Indian', it had a grill attached too. I needn't have worried. The curries here are like nothing else I have ever experienced, and Empire Kitchen quickly became my takeaway provider of choice, probably after the first mouthful. I'm not exactly sure why, but the food here is just SO flavourful. Perhaps a critic of Indian restaurants would have a simple or critical explanation for this - I simply do not care. I regularly frequent traditional Indian restaurants and for flavour, only the very best come close to EK. If I were to be placed on death row and given one last meal, a lamb madras, pilau rice, and a keema naan from Empire Kitchen would undoubtedly be my choice. If you ever get the privilege, the honour to do so, then please consider ordering from this gem of a food outlet. A credit to Fareham.

Don't normally like to give bad reviews but ordered here because of the good reviews on a Sunday night, spent £50 and honestly was awful, ordered a spicy sag which wasn't spicy and really greasy, a vindaloo which had really dry chicken, a chef special curry which was so greasy and a biryani which was bland , wish I took photos but really not good

Awesome family, once they have fed you, they treat you as one of their own, always pleased to see you return.

I have ordered food from here plenty of times. The food is delicious and always arrives hot. The customer service is amazing.

After six brilliant orders, I thought it's time to post a review... We've tried the Indian dishes, shakes, burgers, dirty fries and it has been spot on every time. We always order directly with them and pick up to get the discount, never had any issues. The standard has been consistently high and they have a top hygiene rating- if they keep it up, we won't be ordering takeouts anywhere else.

Just had my 3rd takeaway from E.K and was as good as the first 2 the wife and I have 6 different dishes all very good , would recommend this to anyone best Indian takeaway I have had, great job chiefs

Tried here for first time tonight and went and picked up delivery and got 10% off got back home and wow ……absolutely beautiful Indian food with huge portion sizes and very well priced too . Best Indian I’ve been to in a long time value for money and very very tasty too . Will be back again !!

Ordered at 830. By 1030 no food so phoned the restaurant. Was given the run around and told it would be with me soon. Waited another hour so cancelled the order. They still tried to deliver 45 mins after that. Because its Deliveroo policy of delivery is attempted there is no refund. Had I have been made to wait at a restaurant that length of time I would have walked out. The staff on the phone were extremely rude. And refused me a refund. I’ve since taken Deliveroo to small claims court and got my money back. Avoid these guys. Much bttter service from other take outs. 1/10 overall. I’m not joking.

I have been eating Bangladesh/ Indian food for over 60 years. It's very difficult to find a good takeaway these days! Most use a new style of cooking using very few spices and different style of gravy .! Not boiling chickens for stock. The dishes I've had from this takeaway are meat bhuna ( don't be worried when you see meat on the menu. It's normally mutton which in my opinion when cooked properly is very tender and tasty ) also chicken curry. I used to eat vindaloo but these days I prefer medium. Nice Rice and Nann bread. Worth a visit

I believe in Honesty So when it's Advertised as a WHOLE GRILLED CHICKEN That's what you should get Well on New year, returning from a flight from Lapland we decided to try this takeaway We recieved two boxes containing a thigh and a leg. I phoned and said we ordered a whole chicken 🐔 They said that's how it comes ???? Well I'm confused as its not what is Advertised on the menu So please check before you order. Adding to this to chips where dry and the chicken was scarcely on the bone. So not a place for us again. JASON

Lovely peri peri chicken but the King prawn madras was way to hot!!!! I love a bit of heat but this WAS a vindaloo it was way to hot for me and I could not eat it!!!! Won’t order again as I asked about how hot there madras was and apparently it was medium I feel like I was stitched up!!! This isn’t my first rodeo with curry’s lol 😂 sorry you have lost my custom

Like another reviewer we moved from London around 14 years ago. Would you believe it's taken this long to find a curry house as good, if not better than the ones we used to enjoy. Finally! Food was A1. Thankyou 🙏

Outstanding food, delivery was quick, food arrived hot. Plenty of flavour on the food, dirty fries could easily feed two people, it's good to see a decent size portion of dirty fries full loaded, nothing was skimpt on my order. Well worth the money. Delivery driver was very friendly and arrived with a smile. Will definitely be back again that's for sure!

The best part of this experience was the delivery, the onion Bhaji felt like they were heated through and very chewy. The chews Nan bread lost heat quickly and folded over with the cheese melted in between and not in the bread it’s self also very chewy and the lamb was not tender but chewy and tuff. Not a good experience at all.

Tried it for the first time, being Indian from London, I haven’t found something that hits the spot. Until today. I cannot fault the food, tried the vegan jalfrezi and omg, it was a surprise and delicious 😊

Great food . Had a problem with the order that they resolved with a hasty delivery. After problem was resolved I received a phone call with a sincere apology and the offer of a voucher. The fact the owner is bothered enough to phone me to apologise tells me everything I need to know about this resteraunt. Just a great service.

What a very enjoyable experience staff very helpful and friendly food was delicious and very well prepared to the fussy eater we had a mixture of grill menu and Indian portion sizes were enough for 2 people and kids definitely enjoyed the ice cream and milkshakes will definitely go again. Definitely somewhere I will be recommending to friends and family.
