Lovely food and service. Highly recommended

Food was bland, tasteless. Woke up with gut rot. Won’t be back. Unfortunate as the staff are really nice.

Delicious, allergy and coeliac friendly food. I ordered over the telephone to be certain to convey my dietary requirements. My server was extremely understanding and attentive of my allergies, ensuring he spoke directly with the chef to ensure they could meet my needs. After writing down the allergens he read them back twice. After placing my order he spoke with chef once again to ensure it was safe. The chef cooked a chicken Korma from scratch and a tarka dahl. Both absolutely delicious. Their poppadoms are gluten free and was assured they are fried in a separate fryer from everything else. I knew it would be a while but well worth the wait. As promised, my food was labelled especially with my name so as I did not get mixed up with other dishes. A rare and delightful treat for me to have a takeaway meal. Excellent service, although higher price than average it's worth it for the extra care and quality.

I was surprised how nice the food was considering I’m south asian myself. I didn’t have high expectations but the food was very nice and the chef was super accommodating to my taste.

Reasonable food at a reasonable price

Was recommended this location by a friend. Generally the good was very good, but just lacked that wow factor dropping a star from me. We would go there again and try different dishes. Staff were pleasant.

Ordered food on Deliveroo. The Korma (Kurma as the app puts it) was what appeared to be watered down cat-sick. The Bhuna was oily and watery at the same time and was thrown away immediately. The onion bhaji was not even warm. The mint sauce was essentially tasteless water. When I rung the restaurant to inform them of the disgraceful quality of the food, they apologised and said they would contact Deliveroo to authorise / permit a full refund. I have just spoken to Deliveroo and they have no record of this - thus meaning that the restaurant are liars as well. Absolutely disgraceful restaurant who should hang their heads in shame and the disgraceful nature with which they treat customers.

As an origin indian,the food was not good and the quality was not to best. Good service but lack of authentic Indian food taste. When restaurant says authentic Indian that means the food should follow the Indian taste as india have legacy of preparing delicious food

We have been visiting this establishment for many years and never let down. This evening the food was simply exceptional, so tasty, first class service as always, going to be difficult to beat. Thank you for another great meal.

Had a fantastic sit down meal here for my twin daughters birthday this evening. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, so friendly and they had decorated out table and even gone out and purchased a cake and candles for after. Really looking forward to going back. Thankyou so much.

Had a pleasant experience at Basmati Locks heath! Took the staff out for a group meal and everything was perfect, great food and the service was very friendly. Would recommend for sue.

We received our order tonight.. mega quick I have to say .. I’m confused as to why the whole meal was Luke warm at best as it was so quick! It was really tasty ( if you like Luke warm /cold food) very disappointing.. this is the second time our food has arrived cold.. bearing in mind we live 5 minutes away tops! On top of that there was no meat in the keema naan . We won’t be ordering from there again.. twice bitten 3rd time shy !!

Went here last night for a meal. We had chilli Shaan chicken, chicken tikka jalfrezi, mushroom rice, Keema naan and Tarka daal. All was absolutely delicious and made to feel very welcome.

What a great find. Unassuming Indian restaurant but does all its dishes really well. When entertaining overseas visitors they ask us to take them to this Indian restaurant. Can't say I blame them. N B ask for a recommendation never been disappointed with the flavours!

Had my birthday meal here last night, over 23 people on a busy Saturday night. Tito was great at helping me organise everything (including keeping my birthday cake in their fridge!). Everyone loved their food, this was my third time eating in here and will definitely be coming back again. Thanks to all the team for helping create a memorable night!

Attended a birthday meal here as a group of 20+ and the service was excellently organised, food was delicious and the staff were very accommodating and kind despite the many special requests and large orders.I definitely recommend this restaurant!

I never write reviews but this was so bad I had to. Ordered a passanda take away, it looked revolting and tasted confusing. Not actively discusting but competently unappealing like plain ready oats. I tried to call to complain but after not getting through 5 times I gave up and here I am. Ohhh and I tried adding curry powder as a last ditch attempt at salvation but it couldn't be saved.

Ordered a birthday meal for my family, two hours later it had not arrived. The excuse was that they were busy...they were no busier than any other Friday night and their flippant attitude and continual lies stating the order would arrive in two minutes were infuriating. They are utterly disorganised and unaccountable.

Had a lovely early birthday meal here. The atmosphere was lovely and you wouldn't know you were in a shopping centre. The meal was really quick and it was so tasty. We will definitely be returning as it is so convenient for us to walk to and it was a lovely evening.

Had a takeaway got home just up the road from there and it was cold they were busy but no excuse for cold food

I will give 0 stars if I could. I have been meaning to write this for a while but thought will give then another chance before I make this decision to write. Ordered a takeaway again couple of days ago. Worst food that's out there. Chicken dish with some fancy name was some thick substance with some chicken pieces without any spice or salt. Ordered Tandoori Naan and Roti, to be honest they were not edible and went straight into the bin. They have not been inside a tandoori oven and I doubt this place even has one! Half cooked and soggy. Same story with the veg dish, boiled vegetables in flavoured water. I could have done a better job boiling veggies. I honestly don't know how this place survives. I am sorry to say, whoever is the chef there don't have a clue what's he or she is cooking. Chucking all ingredients and mixing is not cooking. You do need to make an effort and cook good food for people to return. Mind you this is not the cheapest of places and I have had edible and better food at less expensive restaurants. I am out, never again and won't recommend either. Visit at your own risk.

I never write reviews but I have to say this has the most amazing food and the greatest customer experience I’ve ever had. You know it’s good when you travel from London and order twice. I also went with my wife and noisey kids and they were so patient and understanding. Also, the bathrooms are clean and tidy. These things matter for children. Thank you to the waiter Forid and the master chef, Nessa.

Brilliant food, and it being local you don't have to wait for ages for delivery and you can walk to collect it.

Have had take aways from here before and always great food. Decided to have a Meerkat meal in the week and had a lovely evening. Will definitely go back soon.

I have literally never tasted a worse meal. Rice with raw onion floating in water. Sag paneer with no cheese and jalfrazi that tastes of nothing but water and dry and a dry old bits of chicken. Onion bahji's like two little tiny dried up things like little old doorsteps. Absoloutetly vile and I usually eat anything. My meal literally tasted like water with onions and wet watery ricr. Any good reviews must be very old. Its not even the worst takeaway ive had, its the worst thing ive ever tasted

Now been to this restaurant twice. They do Tandoori Prawns to die for. They are awesome. Had Bombay Pots with them - last time I had salad which was weird and had peas in - the Bombay side dish was fantastic. Naan bread tasted like a proper Naan and was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend and the service was second to none.

After moving into the area recently and this restaurant came with raving reviews and recommendations. How disappointed I was 2 orders later they got both orders wrong despite ordering on line and double checking our order. When I called to complain I was offered a refund for our meal but had to wait for the payment line 12 HOURS LATER !! Despite payment taken 3-5 mins earlier. Let’s hope they call me back or I will be giving them a wide berth !! Any more recommendations for Indian curry in locks heath area that know what they are doing please. Any suggestions appreciated. Worst customer service I have ever received, live a few minutes away and managed to be over an hour late, was lied to twice when asking how long it’d be, food finally turns up, cold and downright atrocious, daughter provides better sandwiches at her tea parties, to call yourselves an Indian is a joke. NEVER ORDER FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TIME WASTED AND YOUR TASTE BUDS DISAPPOINTED!

Mint sauce was spicy should not have been spicy at all . chicken was not nice .so both meals was not that nice tonight .what a let down.

The best restaurant for miles around excellent staff and service

Overcharged us and the manager was rude, pubani restaurant in botley and hedge end give me and my partner a better service and the food has alot less oil in it . I would not reccomend the basmati

We love it, however we dont eat out here for the views as it is windowless, it's for the very good food and friendly guys who serve. Booking with the automated system or the aged patron 24hrs beforehand might present a problem but its well worth it and if you still struggle ask for Titu on arrival, he might wangle something for you. Turns out the aged retainer is nearly 20 years younger than me! Call me sir (or not) if you wish but please not “Young Man” or refer to my wife as “Young Lady” it’s offensive.

currently our most regular indian because of the meerkat offer. I had the saag jolokia curry, Punjabi saag aloo and a naan, my wife (who is super fussy) had a chicken biryani. all the food was really nice. very good value (full menu prices are reasonable anyway). lovely big chunks of tender chicken in our curries. i didnt think much of the tilapia curry but all the other meals went down well. there were 9 of us this time but service is always good and we didn't have to wait long for our food.

We order a takeaway from Basmati every Sunday evening and to be fair normally very good indeed but must point out not consistent.. This week however (3rd December) our takeaway meals fell well below standard, one was butter chicken curry and the other a chicken jelfrezi, both came with so little sauce they I would discribe as only "moist .. Next Sunday we will try another local Indian takeaway, I feel very disappointed.

First of all, ordered all 4 types of poppadom sides and only received 2 so that's minus a star straight away. The beer whilst we wait was flat, minus another star. And finally I personally thought the food was bland and tasteless. I won't be returning in a hurry which I'm really disappointed about

Not keen on the food here. Seems slightly bland to other restaurants locally. Only the Chon Chola is worse... Interior decor okay. Staff seem a little remote and not really that customer friendly.

Have eaten here many times before, both in the restaurant and to takeaway. Never been disappointed with the quality of food, service and affordability. The gentlemen that work here are so friendly and welcoming, the food is always top quality and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Couldn't recommend enough.
