If you combine value, choice and quality you have a solid 5 star place. Where else can you order pheasant burgers? And get a minted lamb burger with home made bread for under £10? A brilliant place!

We have been a few times to The barn at Turville and I would always have recommended this in the past. However, on this occasion, my friend ordered the food and they were not very pleasant to her, even though we had booked in the food when it came was not up to standard in anyway at all, the coffee was extremely bitter chips, undercookedoverall very disappointed and it is absolutely beautiful place

We had a nice lunch here, but it's an odd place. Firstly it's not easy to find. Secondly it does not have a car park, so you have to park about 300M away. We had made a reservation, but this does not mean you have a table reserved. We were just told to pick one. The barn is where you will eat. Looks very old and rustic. Had a very good heater that we sat beside. You have to go into another building to order your food and drinks. The menu is not extensive, but as long as you like burgers or pizza there will be something for you. The staff are very young and not well trained. When I asked which Bitters they had, she was completely bamboozled. She started to tell me about their lagers, and when I explained what I wanted, she started to tell me about their lagers again. Very odd. The Dexter beef burgers were good, and I had a vegetable and bean stew. Prices are reasonable, so good value for money. Toilets are basic.

Hadn't visited here since pre covid and so wasn't aware of the booking system. Unfortunately that meant I hadn't booked but the place was not busy so I politely enquired with young man whether the bookings was for food only or whether my friend and I would be able to get just drinks. He informed me it would be better if I had booked. Well I'll know for next time! My friend and I carried on with our walk and 150 to 200 metres down the track I heard a bike coming fast behind us. We moved over to let the enthusiastic mountain biker past, only to realise it was a man in an apron. He wanted to know our names and why we were complaining about his booking system. I was taken off guard and very intimidated. He kept telling my friend he was called Chris which was a bit weird. I hadn't complained about his booking system in the slightest. If places can afford to turn away good custom in the current economic climate then good for them. I did not however appreciate being chased down the lane by a seemingly angry man in an apron for simply asking a polite question. Its quite honestly the most strange thing I've ever had to write about on trip advisor. I'm glad I wasn't on my own for this altercation. But partly I'm intrigued as to what lengths this man would actually go to if someone were to actually complain abut his booking system. For a saturday lunchtime the place seemed rather empty. I wonder why?

We got a hartly welcome, although it was rather busy, so that already gave u a good feeling from the beginning. We sat outside, which was a nice view, and although it was busy staff did an extra effort to bring us the food at our table. The misses had only a soup, kids a very good pizza with extra toppings and I had a very good vegeterian goulash. Not very big dishes, but on the other hand great quantity doesn't always mean great quality... You order in the barn, food is prepared outside in an adjecent covered area, everything very visible, nothing to hide (open kitchen). I had the impression they were working rather improvised, with the means and the help they could get, we found it very charming. I don't know if they always rely on the same people to help them out, but they all were very friendly and helpfull hardworking men and women. Very fair priced, you certainly get value for money. Bookings required, and since I was aware of this by my landlord from last year we booked very well in advance. When we are back in the region we'll certainly book again.

You have to prebook so they don't get too busy. Service was very quick and friendly. The food was simple but delicious. Good choice of beers too. The setup is rustic, so don't go expecting a fancy gastropub style. You either eat in the farmyard or in the barn. l loved it!

Haven't been here for a while and wish we hadn't bothered. The place seems to have experienced a personality change. The rudeness with which we were addressed by the lady serving implied she wanted to keep the locals sweet and cyclists had to book - what a joke. I checked with the male owner who said it was OK to come in. The egg rolls took 30 minutes.... won't be coming back. The woman obviously has a thing about cyclists

Clearly there has been some historical issues between the cafe owner and locals, NIMBY’s and the like with regards to parking, so we were told where we couldn’t park. We came for our pre-booked slot. The place was dead, no atmosphere and a few butchered classic cars, hence my comment about being twee. It is expensive and even though we were the only people there we were told that there was no waitress service, not a huge issue but hardly inclusive for a parent with young children or anyone with mobility issues. Two breakfast baps and coffees were north of £17 and Heinz sauce ( Stokes or Tiptree is the sauce to have if it is meant to be premium pork products). Bizarrely the “sausage” is a burger al La McDonalds, it tasted ok but recently we had three hot drinks, three breakfast buns with a choice of two fillings in them for £18 -an hour up the road in rural Buckinghamshire on a working farm, so for me won’t be going back. Expensive and all a bit twee, I expect tourists love it.

We visited yesterday on a gloriously sunny day. We booked for 11.45 coffee and 1pm lunch and were delighted with both. The welcome from the hostess was brilliant - friendly and efficient. Excellent coffee served in good-sized mugs (hand-crafted?). After a short circular walk we returned for our lunch - vegan spicy veggie burgers - which were generous and delicious. Service was a little slow, particularly for taking orders, but the staff are so friendly you don't really mind too much. Warning: if you're approaching from the north, having turned off the M40, Google maps takes you down a track which ends in a footpath which means you have a 5-minute walk through the wood.

I found the barn on trip advisor and liked the fact it's a bit remote and likely to be safe place to take the family and we were not disappointed today we fed 5 adults and 5 children with soft drinks for £71 pretty good value the food is made to order and the staff are really friendly, you can see your food being cooked in the open kitchen outside in the yard. It's nice the owners have made a business using what they have on the property.Dont be put off as there is no car park because you can park 5 minutes walk and there are loads of roads where you could park, The website does not advertise this very well because the page is under construction.Bring garden games with you kids will play for hours in a safe location. We will come again soon.

What a lovely find! Make The Barn your walking destination on a pleasant summer day and enjoy lovely woodland surroundings, friendly, efficient service, smiles from other walkers and cyclists, and simple, reasonably priced, great quality food. The place was buzzing when we visited last Sunday and we were asked if we minded a wait for food. We didn't mind at all - we only had to wait half an hour and it was a pleasure to sit outside and enjoy the view. Despite being busy, The Barn didn't let their standards slip. My hubby was delighted by the quality of his bacon roll, I was delighted with my tasty broccoli & stilton soup, and we were both delighted by the crispy chips. All served with a smile. Delightful.

Stumbled onto this wonderful cafe in the Chiltern Hills. So out of the way and unadvertised that only tripadvisor and locals know about it. "The Barn" is well worth the effort of finding. The meats are all raised on the farm and delicious - we had a minted lamb burger and a pheasant burger. A shout out to Danny who was behind the counter and very friendly. Robin, the owner/farmer, was so gracious. He gave us a wonderful tour of the farm history - probably the oldest structure in the area with walls from the 1300's and beams from Henry VIII's boats. Amazing!!! The ultimate tour is something you'll have to ask Robin about, but we were the first Americans he took on it.

A friend doesn't live too far away from The Barn and suggested it for a Sunday get-together as she'd been wanting to try it for a while and it's dog-friendly (inside and out), so she could take her time and not worry about getting back for her dog. It was a bit of a trek for me but completely worth it. It was overcast but not too nippy to sit outside and we were lucky to find a table (I can imagine that it's even lovelier in the summer, when the weather's nice enough for a blanket on the grass). We had a variety of burgers (beef and lamb) with chips and it was all absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. They were very busy and there was a little bit of a wait (20 minutes) but we were warned in advance. Cakes (Victoria sponge and chocolate brownie) were also lovely. Tea is served in proper mugs but the food was on paper plates. I think that when they're very busy, it's probably easier than dealing with the dirty crockery (at one point the cutlery tray was empty), but it would be nice if they were able to get rid of the disposable items at some point in the future.

What a fantastic find! The Barn is at Turville Heath, close to the tourist traps of Fingest, Turville and Skermitt, but in a much more tranquil location. Numerous paths run past the door, you have to park and walk and the place is optimised for those on two or four legs with places to secure your horse, a bucket of dog biscuits inside the door and gourmet sausages for dogs on the menu. As the name suggests the cafe is in a lovely old barn, on one of the many charming Chiltern farms, the menu includes enticing local produce, soup, baps, burgers and chips and tempting cakes. On our first visit the barn was shut but the help-yourself honesty horse-box was open with tea, coffee and a range of cakes and snacks. On our second visit we sampled the falafel burger and gourmet dog sausage - both delicious. A definite one-off and a must-stop-pit-stop for bike or horse riders and ramblers in the area

Got there just before closing but were warmly welcomed, burgers are freshly cooked to order and lovely, all followed by cake which as we were walking back were fully justified. One of our party was struggling with an injury so the staff gave her a lift back, this was extremely kind but I’ll stress not a regular offer. This historic barn housing a café is tucked away down a lane - and you'll need to leave your car about 400m away and walk either up a tarmacked track or along a footpath through the common. Bikes and horses can come right up to it though, its just that there is no public parking at the barn. But the walk is easy and more than worth it! Tasty juicy burgers from the homebred cattle, sausages from the homebred sheep and piggies, but also a veggie burger and a falafel burger., and goulash soup... Also lovely cakes and coffees/teas... the menu might not be long, but its got all you need. You can sit in the barn but outside on the common is much nicer if its good weather. A friend and I were out for long walk and stumbled upon this hidden gem. We had a self service coffee ( weekday) and sat in the sun, though had it been raining there were interesting inside seats. With bluebells at their peak at the end of April beginning of May I strongly suggest you make a walk with a coffee or lunch stop here. So lovely without traffic and just a unique place. We will be back at a weekend to sample the locally sourced food......just don't tell too many people it's there!!!!!

A friend and I stopped in with our horses on Sunday as were riding in the area. Location is great and the bicycle signs were a great help as it is set back from the main road. We were impressed to see the tie ups with head collars for the horses and a mounting block! We got there about 11:30 and it seemed that they were still opening up but kindly provided drinks and food. The menus are displayed on slate boards around the counter area which looks great but does mean that you missed seeing everything on offer especially those displayed on the floor. We really enjoyed visiting and will definitely go again!

A fantastic place of the beaten track. It's a rough and ready barn that does hot drinks, soup and goulash all of which is excellent and very good value. It sells bike inner tubes so is very cyclist friendly. All in all a superb place for a rest on a walk/bike ride/horse ride.

Located off the main drive road in Turville Heath - short walk from main road towards The Manor House behind the beautiful woodlands in the open common - this café is new and rather eccentric in its design and set-up. Very nice owners who also own the farm. Welcome stop for walkers, bikers, family and dogs - for a hot drink and snacks in the middle of nowhere. Homemade hot drinks, soups, cakes, snacks in a great setting - go and take a look and enjoy. :-)

Our first visit and a great place to meet up for coffee and cake (very good cake indeed). My wife was delighted with the gluten free chocolate brownie (I pinched a bit and have to say it was one of the best brownies I've tasted!!!!). Friendly and helpful staff and a lovely venue, especially as it is dog-friendly.

Usually get coffee from the well known golden arches but the coffee machine was broken, so we chose Hatch Coffee. It was actually the best outcome, one of the best tasting black americanos I've had! Other half was equally as pleased with her latte. Definitely be back 😃❤️
