Food tasty but insufficient staff levels. Mitchell’s and Butler need to put more staff on. We waited a good while before we were offered drinks. When we asked a question, the waitress said she would need to go & find out and ask. She never did return with an answer.

Family dinner to celebrate the mother in laws 80th birthday. We were superbly looked after by Keira, an absolutely brilliant person. Nothing was too much, she made sure we were kept topped up (well me, great pint of Tribute x 4 😀) sorted out the birthday cake for us, was very polite and helpful for the 2hrs+ we were there. Food was great, definitely recommend the chicken skewers and apparently the roast was great too. Perfect family meal. Thanks guys. We'll be back soon.

Lovely pub but food is awful. Ordered the flat bread which came out so greasy and hard. The prawn and scallop dish was awful. I felt sorry for the staff one man serving so many tables. Lots of complaints we heard too. I’ve eaten here twice now and both times food was so bad.

Great place, amazing atmosphere and the guy behind the bar was very friendly and helpful 10/10 would go here again worth every penny

I wasn’t going to bother but as time goes by I think I ought to make a comment. Recently friends met for lunch. After a lot of pondering I ordered the beef sandwich. I asked for mayo instead of the “beef dripping sauce”. “No problem” I was told. When the dish arrived I was disappointing. The smallest pieces of boring white bread ever. Toasted so it was hard to eat and not actually described that way. A smear of meat paste. No mayo no onions as stated on the menu. Possibly the worst ever meal. And all for £17?? Or 1/2 price so that made it only partially less of an issue? Seriously it was a bad experience. How can a restaurant serve such food.

This is a nice pub but the food over promises and is well overpriced. My husband and I both ordered prawn skewers, feta salad and a side of ticket, onion and asparagus. The prawns were overcooked and dry. I had to ask for garlic butter as there was none on the plate. The feta salad contained approximately one tbsp of feta and literally one cube of what i think was butternut squash. The side salad came with no asparagus so we sent it back. It finally arrived after we’d finished eating?? The prawns and feta salad is being sold for £18.95. This is the same price as the really delicious and generous rainbow salad with chicken across the road at the Cross Keys (we couldn’t get in that day as so busy). The two meals simply do not compare. You can eat a decent meal in central London for the same price. We left disappointed and hungry.

Arrived for pre booked lunch on a Tuesday Was given lunch time menu which offered 2 courses for £19.50. Was immediately told that almost all the starters were unavailable, including soup! Decided to order from the main menus and had 3 fish finger sandwiches and a beef brisket sandwich. 30 mins later we had to ask where our food was … it arrived only to be told that the fishmonger sandwiches had mayo as they had run out of tartar sauce. I had the beef which was just mush served in bone dry toasted stale bread. It was so dry I could hardly swallow it. So disappointed. There were only a few customers so to be told the wait was due to the kitchen being busy wasn’t a good indication of how it would be during a busy evening or Sunday lunch time. Will not be returning in a hurry

This is what a British pub should be. Nice big, well lit car park. A very nice friendly welcome from the land lord. Busy on a Wednesday evening which is a great sign. Fabulous real ales on draft. Nice menu (not cheap but great quality). Plenty history here, real fires in winter. Clean loos. All in all 10/10 from me.

Visited the barge for Sunday dinner. On arrival ignored for 5 minutes before we managed to get seated. Then told no roasts left (it was only 4:30 pm) and so given the general menu but told the pork belly and , after ordering, the calamari also unavailable. Placed order. Starters good but then waited an hour and half for mains. 2 of the mains had to be returned which were still unacceptable second time around. Neither meals were touched. When bill arrived we had been charged for the calamari that was unavailable, the 2 meals that had been returned and the complimentary bottle of Prosecco. Never was an apology even offered. Had to stop at Dominoes on way home for those that had not been able to eat mains. Will definitely not be teturning

Driving here was a breeze despite the forever MK roundabouts. The Barge Inn is nicely situated in a lovely quiet village setting. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We asked for a Pinot Noir that was not on the wine list and to my surprise the landlord offered us something even better than expected. We enjoyed an excellent steak followed by a super pudding and two coffees. Excellent value and quality. We had a great time - Highly recommended! Many thanks indeed to Alison and the landlord!

Came here today with my Husband soon to be 2 year old and baby for lunch. Food was delicious! Stunning pub inside and out! My toddler enjoyed the garden after. The staff were so lovely and prompt service. Run very well for an old boy! I must say. Everything was perfect. Will be back soon. Thank you!

We came back here as we were so impressed with our previous visit and once again had a great time, the food was fantastic and Allison our server once again was brilliant, constant smile on her face and nothing was to much for her. She is definitely a credit to The Barge. We will be back again.

Just back from a Sunday lunch at The Barge. Atmosphere was great and the food was very good. We were a party of 6 and had various choice from the menu and we all had very good food. We were served by Allison and the service was brilliant.. very relaxed and helpful and made our visit very enjoyable to the end.

We had a lovely time at The Barge Inn with friends. The service was fantastic; Alison was so friendly and tended to all of ours and our children's needs. 4 stars as some of the portion sizes were a little smaller than expected for the adults. Welcoming, friendly and overall a lovely atmosphere.

Arrived 12.30. Finally got our first course given to us at 2.20 pm. Is this a record wait? They had a large group in and said there would be a wait but we were fine with that. We got our starters reasonably quickly. Time passed. The large group left. Eventually someone came to ask if we wanted to see the desert menu! We said we were still waiting for our main course. Looking somewhat surprised the waitress went off to the kitchen and about 10 minutes later our food arrived. Had clearly been microwaved to reheat it. One of our party sent their meal back as the sauce on the plate was so congealed it was disgusting. They apologised, took it away and replaced it. Another of our party had the fish. So burnt and black on the underside. Quite why you think it is ok to serve such poor quality I cannot understand. Had to call the waitress over again to order our deserts as were being ignored. Had to ask for the lunch menu of specials as they forgot about it. One of our party said this was the worse meal out he had ever had. Never did get my second mineral water. One of our part ordered a flat white and was served a cappuccino covered in chocolate. By this time we had given up complaining and just wanted to leave. No apology as we left and no bill reduction offered. Shambles. I really cannot recommend this place.

Food and drinks ordered quickly as was empty when we arrived which was great but soon went downhill. After an hour of no food or even an option for a second drink I called over the staff to say we have to leave in 30mins and would the food be out soon , we were assured that it would be within 5mins , 30mins later still no food so we had to cancel and walk out. An hour and a half wasted , Two very hungry kids and a very disappointed wife on Mother’s Day. I understand things must have gone wrong in the kitchen and that happens but to leave us just waiting on food that wasn’t coming even when told there was a time limit on our stay was just wrong Honesty would have gone a long way today and I feel sorry for all the families that have gone and had the same experience as us today.

I have been to this place probably 20 or 30 times. Since the re-vamp, it has lost a lot of its older worlde charm and coziness. It’s also tried to go more modern and upmarket (I don’t think they sell crisps for example- if I’m wrong I apologise and stand corrected) but the quality and standard of the food being sent out of the kitchen is generally not very good, and not up to the standards needed that reflects the prices and building itself. I have mentioned ed it before but to be fair, if you cannot cook an egg then I can’t really help you. Quality control is important, and someone is sending out sub-standard dishes to customers. Frankly I have given up and will be eating at the Cross Keys down the road, which consistently produces quality food. I have tried, but these days I need more.

Enjoyed excellent food, 4 Sunday roasts and 1 sea bass, and great service from the team, especially from Lynda our waitress who was patient and couldn't do enough to make us comfortable given we had two little ones with us.

We came in for breakfast today, the service was exemplary from Jade. She made sure we wanted for nothing. The food was sublime, my partners full English looked amazing and he certainly enjoyed it. I had pancakes and bacon drizzled in maple syrup yum. We got to speak to the chef too, very friendly and talented. Apparently he does amazing poached eggs too!?

The overall experience was pleasant with an enjoyable experience however there was a lot to be desired with a long wait time to order our first drink and our starter which was a while you wait option took 15 minutes to arrive. Isobel had good attention to detail and polite in approach. Overall would come back with room to improve 👍

Booked a table for myself and a friend for a Friday evening meal in the conservatory area. Really relaxing atmosphere and quick service. Allison was our host and she was excellent. She really looked after us. Very happy and down to earth and checked we had everything we needed. The forestiere chicken breast was delicious. Lovely evening - thank you!

Lovely meal with friends, our first time at The Barge for food and felt it was great value for high quality food, the restaurant was busy but there was still a pleasant atmosphere, not loud or appearing rushed which was nice. We were well looked after by the lovely Allison from start to finish, who went the extra mile with ensuring we had everything we needed and checking in on the little ones in at the table. We ordered a mixture of food and all were of very high quality with a decent portion size. Would happily visit again!

Visited the Barge for lunch today . Have to say we were disappointed to say the least . On arrival told only one chef on duty which didn’t bode well . Ordered the Ribeye steak which was served with chips and half a tomato . Mushrooms are extra which we ordered but then as the meal was served where told sorry no mushrooms. The steak was very chewy and tasteless . However the chips were hot and tasty . At no stage did we get a table visit to ask if everything was ok . Ordered the cheeseboard but were told that was unavailable. Gave up at this point . Staff seemed stressed and hurried so could have complained but decided to put it down to experience and will not be returning .

Came here for our team Christmas lunch. Service and food outstanding. Great location for food after exploring Willen Lake. Despite some very challenging circumstances in the kitchen the front of house staff were superb and complemented our wait. Compliments to the team and thank you for a lovely meal.

My partner and I came for a Sunday roast. I had the trio roast with Turkey, Beef and Pork belly - absolutely wonderful. My partner had the lamb rump roast, which was also amazing. Our server was Allison, who was a lovely person and nothing was too much. A special shout to Clare and Paul in the kitchen for one of the best roasts my partner and I have had out. We will most definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommended roast and definitely need to book, not to be disappointed.

Birthday 🎁 meal with the family and all I can say was the food and services was extra special. Very quiet evening but was made to feel just as important as a Saturday full house. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was superb. Chicken skewers with humus and flat breads. 👌and pavlova which my dad has was extraordinary. Wow, I’ve lived in Woburn sands for years and never been. It’s literally 5 mins from here.Such a lovely place, warm greeting, very dog friendly loved the treats and water for the dogs. The place has a friendly, relaxing atmosphere very clean. We had the roast beef, very very tasty, and as much gravy as you like! The service was great and our server Allison was so friendly 5 stars all round. We will be back.

Absolutely fantastic roast pork, proper crackling and a fruit crumble for dessert. Served throughout by Allison, a fantastic Waitress, nothing was to much trouble. Wife had fish n chips and the biggest pavlova I’ve seen. 10/10 food and 11/10 for service.
