The Balti Cuisine in Cardiff

I recently came to Cardiff for work with my colleagues and let me tell you the food was excellent!. The service was also phenomenal also the atmosphere was excellent too. Thank you Mo for a great time it was a pleasure I will 100% visit again when I come To Cardiff. The Balti Cuisine really is the best restaurant in Cardiff!

The most delicious food we’ve ever had at an Indian restaurant in Cardiff. Very welcoming, attentive staff and clean, comfortable surroundings. Very reasonably priced too, we highly recommend it!

Have visited many times of the past year and can say the standard of food and service has never dropped. The lamb and chicken dishes are always excellent quality - highly recommended.

I came from Bristol with my family and my father has never had a curry, so we chose to balti cusine and it was AMAZING, The service was excellent and the staff were quick with the drinks and papadoms and also the food, the manger Mo and the waiters was very polite , will definitely come again , Best curry house in Cardiff!

Wowwww, just wow. All I can say is that I had the most extravagant meal I have had in a while!!!! No other Indian restaurant can live up to this one. From the warm customer service of the top legends himself Mo, he has been an absolute superstar and is always up for a cheeky laugh. Not to forget his son who knows how to keep everyone smiling. The food itself came out piping hot, had a very cheeky lamb jalfrezi and the chicken biryani was out of this world. And that biryani sauce was something magical. Keep it up lads, will see you next time!!!

Had a family birthday last night and it was absolutely lovely, the staff are excellent and cannot do enough for you. The food is varied with lots of choice of your classics but also a lot of unique dishes with own little twist, everyone thoroughly enjoyed there meals, definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again for sure. 7 of us visited for my Step Daughter’s 14th Birthday and what a great experience! From the service to the food to the value for money, we had a really great meal. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were only too willing to describe and recommend dishes. Even the singing of “Happy Birthday “ was instigated by the lovely member of staff that lit the candles and brought out the cake! Thank you all so much and we will definitely be using your restaurant more often!

Went here for a date night with my partner. The lamb saag was gorgeous and the service was attentive. Restaurant had good atmosphere. We will be coming back again!

Friendly service and consistently great food.

Went to The Balti Cuisine this evening for a meal and chose the House Special Mixed Grill. Wow, a huge sizzling grill plate full of tandoori chicken, lamb chop, King prawns, barbecue chicken, spicy wings, lamb tikka, Phew I exhausted just listing it !!!! Great value for money. Well worth the visit. Will definitely be back. 👍

Had a fabulous meal tonight at the Balti Cuisine. I ordered Chicken Pathia and as I love my dish a little hotter the chef spiced it up and even added 2 chilli’s! Absolutely perfect 👏🏻can’t wait for our next visit ❤️

My favourite curry place in Cardiff. Staff friendly, food leaves you feeling full but not bloated, happy to box up your leftovers, very reasonable prices. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I went with a bunch of friends at last minute and they were more than accommodating. Lovely food and quality service.

Been there many times, and noticed the place was only rated as 21st Indian in Cardiff. What ?!? I've tried a few of the top 10 in Cardiff, and let me tell you, it's on par, if not better than some.

Had a hankering for a Balti and Nan so went for the restaurant with balti in its name. Went for a chicken and mushroom. Absolutely gorgeous, and delivered really quickly. Five stars. Will be back.

We visited here during the 50% off eat out scheme and was so impressed! I thoroughly enjoyed this scheme as I tried new restaurants I may not usually visit, this being an excellent find, where I would definitely revisit! The curry was outstanding, the chicken tikka wasn’t the usual red colour and so tasted a bit different to previous ones I’ve tried but was absolutely divine, nice coconut tastes! All sides of rice, naan, chips and bajis were fab. The drinks were reasonably priced and the staff were so lovely, really attentive and helpful, no complaints at all! Really nice atmosphere, carefully and nicely decorated with a welcoming vibe. Will be coming again for sure!

Solo me encontré con la cocina Balti hace unos 2 meses, pero ya he vuelto unas 5 veces, llamé nuevamente anoche y siempre recibí una cálida bienvenida de Mo y el resto del equipo. Fui por el cordero Methi, era absolutamente de primera categoría, tiene que ser probablemente la mejor casa de curry en Cardiff ya que nunca me han servido un plato malo. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar, échale un vistazo si tienes la oportunidad.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years meals. The food is always delicious, of good quality and never disappoints. The staff are friendly and welcoming. What more do you want?

Had the set menu thinking it was a bargain for 2 people. The poppadoms as extra and naan bread were amazing. Usually love coming here but the drinks were flat and the chicken masala was revolting. No spice and all lemony. Told the waiter who said this is what a masala is.. Not in my book. The lamb was all fatty. Would not have this again.

The food and the service at this restaurant are consistently excellent.We had Salmon Tikka and Lamb chops to start, both were excellent, possibly not choices we would make for a takeway food, so enjoyed trying these dishes at the restaurant. Both were excellent choices, fresh tastes and sizzling to our plates.We chose a Lamb and a chicken dish for main course. I'm normally fussy about the cuts of lamb and wouldn't order out, however, the lamb was absolutely lean, cooked beautifully and fresh.This is a must try restaurant for those loving real quality food..

I had the meat Thali selection. Waiter was good enough to swap prawn for other dish as I'm intolerant to seafood. Service was good, food was excellent and price was good.

Read the reviews and I have been coming her for years whats gone wrong? I was served the worst curry ever it was just a ball of onions supposed to be Lamb Jalfrezi! Take away .....Naan bread should be light fluffy smeared in ghee with coriander but none of that instead lump dough ball which looked like a pancake! It was rubber! Utter rubbish served to me! CTM was green in colour I have never in all my life seen a green CTM,...something gone wrong here maybe head chef away I don't know but on FRiday night I was served utter crap straight in bin check out the grease on the plate just gross!

Visité recientemente para una celebración de cumpleaños familiar. A pesar de ser pequeños, están bien atendidos y se encargaron de todo. El servicio fue estupendo, muy rápido y muy educado. Había un gran menú para elegir y todos los platos eran fantásticos. Llegaron rápidamente, estaban calientes y sabían muy bien. No hay inconvenientes.

Decidimos comer en la cocina balti. Hace muchos años estuve aquí por última vez con un amigo que lo recomendó. La comida era encantadora, poppadoms, peshwari Nan y el pollo Murgi. Muy sabroso con la cantidad justa de especias. Hay muchos restaurantes indios en Cardiff para elegir, pero me alegro de haberlo visitado.

Great time as usual at the Balti Cuisine. Mo and team are always welcoming and nothing too much trouble. I had the salmon al-kass it was delicious. Well worth a visit.

Went as a big party of 20 people for a colleagues retirement. Pre ordered all the meals but one person was poorly and could not attend, the restaurant was told this earlier in the day but the manager said we would still have to pay for this meal (even though we had all paid a £5 deposit), and he openly argued this point in front of other diners, this is not good customer service. We had booked for 7pm but was not served the main courses until 8.45 pm. I can only comment on my food but it looked like it had been left to bake and solidify and the stuffed nan was tasteless. Considering we were a large group spending a considerable amount the customer service was sadly lacking.

Mohamed's Balti Cusine is a shining example of how people will keep coming back if you do everything right. There's always a friendly greeting at the door, everything's twinklingly clean and it always smells fantastic, which is a good sign. The poppadoms are always fresh, hot and crunchy, and the food has been consistently fantastic since I first visited over 20 years ago. There are the usual standards on the menu - Mrs Biscuits is a big fan of the Chana Dhansak, plus lots of things you don't see elsewhere. My favourite (at the moment) is the Methi Murghi with lemon rice. Mrs B and I were vegetarians for many years, and there's a great selection of vegetarian and vegan food to be had too. We've been coming here for family birthdays, family get-togethers and Saturday nights out for a very long time. There's a friendly, happy ambience to the BC, Mohamed always pops over to say hello and ask about my football team, and the food is consistently excellent. What more could you want?

Thanks again guys for being so accommodating to my vegan diet. Everything was delicious and I can’t wait to come back.

Once again a great curry, from popadoms and chutney through starters and main course curries, FAB. It is well worth a visit here.

Stopped in by chance as we happened to be in Cardiff and passing, the service and food were fantastic, by far the nicest we have eaten in a long time if not ever.

Friday evening; filled up quickly.It is obviously a very popular restaurant. Staff are very helpful with a degree of wit and humour; made us very welcome. All the food was excellent and the Fish Biran starter was outstanding.

Tuve que irme temprano porque tuve que tomar un autocar y el camarero se volvió hostil y grosero cuando le pregunté si podía pagar por separado ya que todos los demás se quedaban un poco más. Se volvió grosero y alzó la voz diciendo que no me iba a permitir pagar por separado y que podía poner la factura en la mesa y que podían calcular quién debía qué. Estoy disgustado con el servicio que recibí.

He estado aquí dos veces en el último mes y la comida y el servicio han sido fantásticos. Decidimos pedir una comida para llevar esta noche qué decepción servicio grosero al hacer el pedido por teléfono un pan Nan y una parrilla tandoori mixta sin cordero tikka qué experiencia diferente. Probablemente lo pensaría dos veces antes de regresar.

Also, fair prices and 10% off for students take-aways. Totally clean restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. A wide range of people (age+nationalities) go there. Couldn’t think of any improvement!! I often come here with my girlfriend, we really enjoy the food especially the peshwari naan. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere to match, would highly recommend.

The foods is always amazing. Value for money. The staff are really friendly and helpful. If your not sure what you want, tell them what you fancy and they will make it for you.

this is a wonderful restaurant and in a good location with fabulous food and good selection of drinks friendly staff food out of this world I just love the sizzling beef, the meet in wonderful cooked to perfection and the sauce is fabulous the starters of Mo Mo's were fabulous and the whole meal is out of this world

Visited tonight and the meal was of the highest standard. I have never had a poor meal in this restaurant. The staff are welcoming and attentive. Great place to eat, my favourite is the Chicken Bhoona top quality chicken. Cannot praise enough. Excellent value for money.

Everything seemed fine, decor OK, staff attentive, all ordered our meals and being a vegetarian for the past 30 years I ordered an aubergine curry. When the mains came it all seemed fine until I bit into what I thought was a large aubergine chunk to find out it was chicken! I immediately called the waiter who admitted it was his mistake and they'd get me the correct curry. When the correct food finally came everyone else had finished eating. The aubergine curry was OK but overall experience was not the best and when I said to the staff that I was not happy there was no offer of recompense and they didn't seem bothered. My partner and her friend couldn't eat all their food so asked if they could box this up to take home but the waiter said it was £1 per box and £1 for a bag to put them in to which we refused to pay for as that was extortionate especially as under the circumstances my food was totally wrong and I basically ate alone. After a discussion with manager they did finally decide to discount my meal and the box and bag charges. Will not visit this restaurant ever again.

We’ve visited as a large group on a few occasions and the food, service and prices are excellent. This time I had Methi Chicken which was delicious!

Dropped in here with my son after a rugby match - hadn't booked in advance - and the staff were very welcoming. Food was some of the best I've had and it was very reasonable at about £20 a head. The table of regulars on the next table were certainly singing its praises.

Had another visit to the Balti Cuisine. Food was as good as it has always been. All the staff are just great and friendly. Portions are great. The paneer tikka is awesome

Balti Cuisine is by far one of the best curry houses in Cardiff. The food is delicious and the staff and beyond friendly and accommodating. They can’t do enough for you and it’s fantastic value for money! I’ve visited many Indian restaurants in Cardiff however Balti Cuisine are on another level! Food HEAVEN!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here last night, the staff were really attentive and made my 7 year old nephew feel like a king. He’s already talking about going back. The food was superb, especially the garlic chilli chicken dish - we’ll be back soon. Thanks Mo and team

As a regular since my university days over 25 years ago. The quality of the food and and authenticity from the management towards customers keep me coming back. Amazing tonight as my wife and I tasted the superb green curry fish. Never tried before but it was incredible - and that’s from a hard core curry eater toile me ! Strongly recommended and if you’re new to Cardiff check this place out !!

Serves a great chicken tikka masala (yellow because it doesn't use preservatives). Lamb momo starter is also delicious.

This is one of the best curry houses in the city. The food is absolutely delicious, and a noticeable higher quality that most other curry houses. The lamb in particular is very tender! The staff are also very friendly and welcoming and can accommodate large groups efficiently. Would not hesitate to recommend this place!

We've been coming here often over the years when I realised we had never reviewed it on TripAdvisor! Very friendly place, attentive service and very good food. My personal favourite is Murghi Rezala but the sizzling beef is a close second. Starters and accompanying dishes are great too. Popular with students living locally and other regulars. Good atmosphere. We've never had a bad meal here and parking hasn't been a problem. To be recommended!

Visiting Cardiff for 2 nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. We fancied Chinese first night & hopped on TripAdvisor then walked into the most unlikely place, which we're used to with TA. But only to find, it was really only a takeaway with a couple of Formica tables & paper plates - and we felt decidedly overdressed. So instead we chanced upon The Balti Cuisine a few doors down. And what a superb lucky find it turned out to be. Without question the best Indian / Bangladeshi I've had in many years. Duck meita then sizzling beef for me. Susie more traditional with king prawn puree & prawn balti. All washed down with a couple of glasses of very drinkable house wine. Delicious. Highly recommend!

A there of us went down for a mates birthday.First impression was good,decor etc..Ordered the meal for 1 -4course with a coffee and as I don't won't coffee late in the evening I asked if I could substitute the coffee for a soft drink and that where the rudeness came.You can't swap mate! You can pay for a drink do you want that mate!Wasn't willing to pay more so I didn't Nor did I have a coffee!Starter was nice came out on a sizzling skillet BUT after eating a waiter picked my plate up an while doing so dropped the cutlery on my jumper an stained a little and barely said sorry!The main was interesting as the chicken tikka came out yellow!WTF not seen before Tasted fruity,never have a seen a tikka other than red.Ice cream was just two scoops of average ice cream.
