Went to a special Halloween event , children’s disco with Wednesday Addams. It was beautifully set up and so well organised. Plenty to entertain the grandchildren for the 2 hours . We were well looked after, all the staff are so welcoming and take care to ensure you have everything you need . Thank you to all the staff at The Fuel Tank and to Wednesday Addams of course!

We hired the Balloon Bar for a last minute 60th birthday party. It was the perfect venue in a beautiful setting. I can't recommend this place enough it was an amazing night all arranged in a week by Lotte, along with her her team they were understanding and went out of their way to make it a very special night. Thank you!

What an amazing experience this was! To begin with, the actual Balloon bar itself is stunning, so the entrance as you walked in was really lovely and the bar is a sight to behold on its own with all the balloons hanging from the ceiling. On arrival we were shown to our table. The tables were thoughtfully set up for the children into character tables. We were on the Elsa table. All of the children were able to sit around the table and there was room for the adults to squeeze on if they wanted to, or to stand around the middle tables to watch them. I thought this was a nice idea as the children all got involved together with the different activities (frozen colouring in, snowmen cards) and the adults were able to make conversation too which meant there was a really relaxed and chilled atmosphere about the event keeping both children and adults entertained. Elsa entertained the children the entire time which was really impressive, reading the frozen story was great, sing alongs and dancing. The afternoon tea itself was fantastic. It was presented really special for the children with a choice of ham or cheese sandwiches, crudités, brownies, flapjacks and mini frozen style cakes, just perfect and really good value for money I thought. Elsa and the whole team really made all of the children feel so special and the whole event was just magical for them from start to finish. Adults also got a choice of any hot drink on arrival and there was a gift from Elsa at the end for the children (a little charm bracket and sweets). Picture opportunity at the end with Elsa also. I have visited the Balloon Bar several times since it first opened and have always felt that something was missing from this quirky little place on my doorstep. The weather was great on Saturday, so we decided to head down for a few drinks and discovered a Jazz singer 'Charlotte Porter' was playing there too. OMG we had a fantastic evening seated in one of the booths and we also discovered what was missing wasn't anymore: The bar ran like clock work with Lotte hosting the evening, managing orders and providing excellent customer service, backed up by Tom and Jamie behind the bar who were on top of everything. Thank you for a great evening.

I visited the balloon bar last month with some friends, it was very busy. We were seated at a table by who we thought was the bar manager Aron, he gave us the menus and my friend wanted the cocktail menu and he suggested the gin bloom and was presented and tasted amazing. I had a pint of Atlantic which was cold and crisp just what I needed on a hot day. Our second round was made by Finn they were a Japanese blossom and an Atlantic presented to a high standard like previously. Shame we couldn’t stay longer than two hours, we will definitely be back to this beautiful venue. Thanks guys for making our experience welcoming.

I have visited the Balloon Bar with friends, twice in the last month. We had pre-bioked a booth which was sanitized ready for us upon our prompt arrival. Hand sanitizer was readily available and we were greeted within seconds of arriving. We were very well looked after by Arron. The cocktails were amazing, even the alcohol free gin! The sharing platter was awesome. We will be returning!

Yesterday evening (4/9/20) I visited the Balloon Bar for the first time following an invitation from friends who had previously visited and returned with high praise. I’m glad to say they weren’t wrong. What a lovely atmosphere, so fabulously quirky and quaint! They had an acoustic band playing in the corner, just the right amount of volume to create a lovely, chilled out vibe, yet not intrusive enough to disrupt conversation. We were seen to by a lovely gentleman who introduced himself as Arron. He was extremely informative and enthusiastic when it came to explanation of the cocktail menu, so clearly well experienced and very natural. To be welcomed by a member of staff who can laugh and smile whilst speaking with customers will always earn an extra point from me. Thank you very much for a lovely evening, and I will most certainly be returning soon, as will my friends.

Awful Experience today, we’d say avoid. Travelled 45 mins specifically for the balloon bar and had a table booking. On arrival the one man working the entire bar said ‘yeah just sit here’ pointed to a table and walked off. He never approached us again. We rooted around and sourced our own menus. We then went upto the bar to order where the same man ignored us for a while never said a word and then proceeded to tell us in the entire bar there were no cocktails. Needless to say we left. Rude staff and would have been good for a cocktail bar to let people know pre arrival or on arrival they have NO cocktails. 🙄 (Upstairs in the fuel rank was equally as awful, chaotic staff running everywhere, long ques and staff just walking around screeching names for unclaimed orders and then customers proceeding to complain they’d been waiting 45 mins for orders. )

What a lovely place to sit and have a drink , well it would be if you could get a drink , we arrived to notice it wasn’t very busy which was fine , after asking the waitress if they did cider on draft she went to have a look but unfortunately didn’t come back and when I went to the bar after waiting about 10 minutes I got snapped at by the barman saying i had to wait as he had other orders to do , baring in mind I’d been watching him for 10 minutes flirting with the waitress and not doing a lot more , eventually we got our drinks which to be fair where very nice , so after about 30 minutes I thought I’d go to the bar and see if I could get another drink , the barman took my order and I returned to my seat , and waited and waited ,watching the barman literally do nothing after 20 minutes a customer who I presumed was a local and probably had a Porsche parked outside held his pint glass up and yelled to the barman he wanted another drink , I thought good luck as I’d been waiting 20 minutes at this stage but to my annoyance the barman took him a drink to his table and then went back flirting with the waitress and completely ignoring me and my order , at this stage we went to pay for our 1 drink we had managed to get and the barman actually said was it just the 1 drink you’ve had , I felt like saying yes but not want trying to get another , I don’t know if we were ignored because my wife looked like she didn’t actually need Botox or lip enhancing like the other women in the place or because I didn’t turn up in a Porsche or Range Rover , or if it was literally because the staff are that useless , untrained and ignorant to the fact that there job is to serve drinks to customers, rich or poor , I am a local business man who regularly entertains prospective customers but I would literally take them to McDonald’s for fillet of fish than go back to this pretentious place, also very covid ignorance

I’ve visited the Balloon Bar a few times recently and have always had great service; friendly and timely. You are greeted at the bottom of the stairs and shown to your table to look through the drinks menu by the bartender Aaron. They have an extensive list of local and unusual gins - I am currently making my way through them! A particular favourite has to be the Gin Bloom cocktail. After a very hot bike ride to Belvoir last week the air conditioning and ice cold drinks were just what I needed. Unfortunately the whole site had lost internet so the preferred card payment was not an option, Aaron was quick to get a cash float ready to allow myself and other customers to still enjoy their trip to the Engine Yard.

Amazing decor, great cocktails but service and management could be seriously improved. Returned “post covid” and no measures in place- no changes implemented. No track and trace, no table cleaning between customers.

They lost our booking, but we were still given a seat. They didn’t take our details for track and trace so failed a basic test. Very poor and rude service. The only saving grace was the pleasant ambience and good quality drinks. We just stayed for one drink as there was no incentive to stop for longer. Such a pity, but it’s the staff that make any destination.
