In terms of a local pub that serves good quality food at a competitive prices The Ball has it all. Wide selection of drinks and also large selection of sports that are shown on the televisions throughout the pub.

Nice pub beer expensive good outside area's.

Early bar on a foul winters evening with four of us determined to eat as soon as possible. we arrived around six pm and the pub was quiet but felt comfortably inviting. The lady serving behind the bar could not have been more helpful explaining the menu and serving our drinks. The menu is pretty straight forward with a surprising range on offer at really reasonable prices. Our order was placed and our food arrived pretty quickly and I have to say we were all really impressed. I suppose theres a low expectation of “its a pub, what can you expect”, but actually the food was really nice. Its a big old pub for a local, and we were only there to eat really, but it felt like the kind of pub that you would always be welcome at and the kind of place that wouldn’t mid if you sat and nursed a coffee for an hour or took a group of mates for a session. Its not an area that I visit often, but if Im back in that neck of the woods then Ill be sure to call at The Ball.

No había entretenimiento, un Santa se sentó en una silla, no hay juegos / crayones y papel / canciones, nada. Entonces el “regalo” de Santa era simplemente risible: un paquete de botones de chocolate. Gran peligro de asfixia y encantadores bocadillos saludables para los niños pequeños. Sé que sólo costó 5 libras, pero esperaba algo por esas 5 libras...

The staff at The Ball are incredibly friendly and service is always good. The pub has a good atmosphere, has some great offers for food and drink. The burger and a pint for £10 is good value for money. We have always enjoyed our visits to The Ball and it's always a very welcoming pub.

We were quite a large group celebrating a birthday. We were well looked after by all the staff who were very welcoming. We had food and drinks and they were all very good

Was told ALL the tables were reserved from 7.15 this was @ 6.30 but if we were done by then we could use the table ! 5 of us went to the Indian across the road instead !

Busy pub, good choice of food and drinks quick service and clearing up

Me and my family had recently gone to The Ball for the first time and from our perspective it was quite disappointing. Our visit had originally started of great. The ambience was amazing, the music set the mood and ordering our drinks served little to no problem. Everything had been going smoothly until it came to the wait for our food. The time we had ordered was around half past 12, and the pub was fairly empty so we assumed that the food would come quickly. The first 15 minutes past and there had been no sign of food, yet we sat through the wait regardless. About 20 minutes the only starter we ordered had finally come and we were already skeptical of when the mains would arrive. Long story short, the mains had taken over 30 more minutes to arrive. The dissapointing part of the whole experience was, firstly, when the wait for our mains had taken so long that we had to take further action and question when our food would come. In response to our query, we were met with the rude toned excuse of if we did want our mains we had to make them aware we were ready. We had not been told this information and this made us feel more grumpy about the whole experience; bearing in mind it had been about a whole hour of waiting. Eventually we did get our food. It really wasn't worth the whole 1 hour, 15 minute wait and cost, especially when we had noticed that others had recieved their food before us, Diabolical!. Overall if you're looking for a Pub to have a drink alongside a nice ambience this is the may be the place for you, yet if you're looking for a place to have brunch I would NOT recommend. This experience for us was unfortunately terrible and we will not be coming back.

Went to meet family last Friday afternoon 9th Friendly greeting from staff (only spoke to one and she had a good sense of humour) don't normally touch green king pubs due to lack of good real ales ... This surprised us with a good choice of beers on. Never had food, Clean WC which is always a plus Would definitely go back when we meet up again

Always a good time in the ball, however on the England game M.Lee went above and beyond to make sure customers (including us) were looked after and had a good seat for the match. Top lad, highly recommend this pub. All the staff were lovely despite it being packed and could easily have been stressful at times! Thanks to the whole team 💕😌 Food also top scran on a very busy day

Had a big family gathering there so to speak. Staff are so nice. Really enjoyed my afternoon there. Euros on multiple tv's, good music, really nice pub. Definitely going back for another go!

Couldn’t have been more accommodating! Called to book a table in the morning and they took my number to call me back, called and offered us tables in two different areas of the pub for food/a show. Then picked out a table for us that would have the best sound quality for the televised show we wanted to watch! Unbelievable service considering it was a busy Saturday night. :) thanks so much!

Had steak and cheese sandwich, it was cooked perfectly (medium) lovely helpful staff.

Noisy, dark and a small gluten free menu. Very disappointed. The toilets were smelly and dirty. Won’t be going again. I had Hunters Chicken as very little choice but it wasn’t good.

Lovely pub great food and choices of drinks. I went in and recently had the katsu curry and it is more than value for money. Lovely staff and efficient service. I remember being served by Chloe I believe and she was very friendly and very quick in service, despite busy times and many people to serve Would definitely recommend if you want a good place to have some food and socialise. Came in for the footy yesterday, the pub atmosphere is amazing and they show all different matches so everyone has something they can watch. Shout out to chloe who was really friendly and helped me with my drink selection despite it being really busy.

Went with friends to watch football on Easter Sunday - the place was heaving mid afternoon and seemingly full of people who’ve never been to a pub before, noisy and blocking the walkways. Greene King beer as expected with some ok guest options.

I bring my gran to the monthly friendship lunch and I would just like to say thank you so much to the ball! It has really helped her out of her shell to meet new people and help her out of the house. A 2 course meal, live music, bingo, raffle and a great atmosphere for only £7.50 each isn't a bad deal at all, drinks are reasonable priced and we are always greeted with a smile and the staff are happy to chat with us, check up on how my gran is etc. It really shows they care and go the extra mile. For anyone who is struggling alone and would maybe like to meet a few others, get out of the house and have a good time or if you know anyone that could do with meeting some new people in a friendly environment, this is the place to go. It's on the first Tuesday of every month from 12pm. Again thank you so much to all of the team at The Ball for making my grans life a little brighter

Went for the first time for NYE, booked a table online no issues. Ordered food just after 9pm the Katsu Curry was amazing! The service was great of course it was busy and they looked run off their feet but nothing missed or slow, definite 5 stars.

Christmas Day catch up with family, usually go here for a pint or two before Christmas Lunch at home. A chance.to catch up with family 😁👍🏼🍻

Nice pub with great selection of beers on tap. Great for having a pint while watching sport, but I prefer pubs without tvs on every wall.

Always a lively place. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Plenty of good craft beers suit me. Lager drinkers seem to be happy too. Only arrive late in the evening so can't comment on food. Noise a bit excessive for me(old git) and tv's very intrusive.

Very popular pub, went during Christmas time and it was very busy. Reasonably priced and had a selection of games to play as well. The only thing that put me off was the horrific mould in the first stall of the ladies toilets, which could definitely be a health hazard if you have a compromised immune system.

Good pub to go for a few drinks and a meal. The food is hearty, and the drinks are a party. Nice atmosphere and staff. They do raffles, quizzes, and other community events. Maybe they should think about getting a stand-up comic as well. The pub is a decent size and nicely decorated, and they have a beer garden if you wish to sit outside. Would definitely come again.

I’ve just recovered from the flu this week and I simply didn’t want to cook. I am still on work leave. Anyway this week I went in to The Ball Inn for their vegetarian brunch and I wanted to pop in again. I eat at The Ball Inn whenever I can. The staff are so friendly and there is always a fantastic crowd. Sadly through my own fault I didn’t make it in time for 12:30 which is the deadline for a brunch order. I had to place an order for something else. I got the menu and this kind lady told me that there is another vegetarian menu. I had a look at it and chose the vegan pulled burger. I am glad I did! It arrived a few minutes later and like the vegetarian meals I had that week it was cooked to perfection as the photo shows. Chef had clearly made those onion rings on site. They were not out of some freezer pack. These were made on site. The burger was divine. That bun again had been made on site. It was far too fresh to be bought from a supermarket. Clearly the Ball is making its own bread on site. The onions were a delight to eat. They were as crisp as you can imagine. The burger looked just like the burger in the photo in the menu. It was plump, juicy and incredibly tasty. I am getting hungry again just typing this! The chips were as crisp as you like. Clearly chef has got the potatoes, cut them in the kitchen and cooked them fresh. This was a meal that looked just as good as the photo in the menu but it tasted better! So, was it worth the money? Absolutely. Would I go there again? Any day of the week. Would I recommend The Ball inn to anyone else. Of course.

I love this place! They've got something for everyone! Came in Friday night for a few before going into town and we ended up staying a lot longer than planned. The atmosphere was electric and the DJ was absolutely brilliant! The staff were quick to serve, even when the bar was full we never really had to wait for our drink. The decor was absolutely brilliant, they've done a great job with getting ready for Christmas, even if it is a bit early IMO. I saw posters all around advertising events, so guess I now have a bottomless brunch to go to! If you're ever in the area definitely pop in, a great place in a good area.

Had a great sunday lunch here. 2 had the turkey sunday lunch. I had the Beef Sandwich Special. Generous portions, great value for money. Also a great choice of breakfasts. The 2-4-1 breakfasts are brilliant value and my Dad loves their Bacon Sandwiches. They also, currently, have a fabulous festive menu on for the festivities. Staff are very friendly. Great pub.

Popped in for a meal on a Sunday after an event nearby and was so pleasantly surprised. We both had the Sunday roast with turkey and beef and it was fantastic, really good portions, incredibly fresh veg and tender meat. Service was also fantastic and very friendly would happily return.

I have frequented this establishment on several occasions, and it consistently lives up to my expectations. The staff is amicable, and the pricing is notably reasonable.

Saturday afternoon family meal with two kids. Both adults had the Katsu Curry which came with rice and fries. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids had Big Meals from the kids menu which includes a drink and dessert. They loved the tacos. All washed down with a nice real ale.

Been in last 2 days for breakfast great food lovely staff

Went in this weekend on the Saturday afternoon and got a couple of booth tables for 9 of us in total - 4 kids on one, 5 adults on the other. Kids were happy as Larry - loads of board and card games available to play and all food was consumed. Us adults also enjoyed our meals, but I forgot to order one of the dishes which I realised when the food turned up and we were one short. No problem said the waitress. She took the order at the table, opened a tab for us so we could pay after, and the forgotten dish turned up pretty quickly. She was very helpful and smiley. Keep up the great service Olivia and team. Dad is a regular here for their OAP friendship club in the week some time and absolutely loves it. Great value, service and atmosphere. Top marks.

Writing this off the back of a 13 hour session in here bank holiday Sunday. Back in again, and will continue to do this every Saturday. Great staff, great beer, great company. I for one am always happy to see landlord Michael welcome me with open arms and give us great chat. What a man. What a pub.
