Went there with family, we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! Sunday roast is very good and my little one loves his chicken nuggets and brownie! We will definitely come back again

A very tasty, well cooked carvery which was made even better by the cheese and tomato mash added to the selection of vegetables. All served by very friendly, helpful staff.

Excellent Sunday carvery with vegan option. Apple pie with vegan custard - delicious! Very reasonable prices, friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

I love this place and have been both dining and entertaining at the Friendship Lunches for a few years now.. From Management to floor staff, the service is brilliant.. I’m an OAP now and decided that I deserve to go out to dine every Sunday lunch and I’m so glad I do.. Thank you so much to Ollie, for looking after us yesterday, although he’s part of a great team.. Good food, good staff and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Love it

8 of us had a Sunday carvery to celebrate joint birthdays. We were a little nervous having read one or two poor reviews but we need not have worried. Could not fault the quality and value of the food on offer, plenty of choice, everything piping hot and cooked to perfection. Service was polite, efficient and friendly. Will definitely revisit.

No podía faltar la calidad y el valor de la comida que se ofrece, un montón de opciones, todo caliente y cocinado a la perfección. El servicio fue educado, eficiente y amable. Sin duda volveré a visitar.

We had the Sunday roast and it was lovely! Everything cooked beautifully and it was very tasty.

The food here is great, and the staff have always been lovely and as a result we have been several times over the years now, but on the last two occasions it's not been as smooth sailing. On the first occasion we booked a table but it it ended up double booked. On the second occasion we booked a table online and it was only when we entered the door was it revealed that they have a no dogs on Sundays policy, which was really disappointing as we had family from Birmingham travel up for the day with their dog.

Everything was amazing, hospitality at it's finest. Excellent service and food. Andy was very welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

Arrived just before 2pm for a drink with my kids. Sat my kids at a table and went to the bar. Out of nowhere a member of the bar staff, loudly told us to move from the table because it was reserved. We had no idea it was reserved and there wasn't any reservation message on the table. He offered us no alternative besides "we are full". I found him very rude and unprofessional. We decided to leave because we didn't feel welcome.

Lovely local carvery. Do decent pizzas and burgers. Sports shown on screens and staff are happy to put on rugby or whatever of you ask. The staff are warm and friendly, and prices are reasonable. See you again soon George, Andy, Jonny, Polly, Isobel, Dylan and Chris!

We paid £60pp on Christmas Day to be treated like an inconvenience. We waited over 40 minutes for our booked table- people sat there not eating just playing on their phones - to then be asked to order our drinks quickly as they were cashing up - they also ran out of meat and from the carvery we could only choose turkey. I complained by email to receive this response “we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service, so we are disappointed to hear that your visit with us was anything less than satisfactory.” I absolutely have no words £360 wasted and Christmas Day ruined ..

The team here are very friendly. Andrew is both friendly and helpful, and great to talk to particularly about food. Nothing is to much trouble for George and Louise. A good place to take the family for a carvery. The pizza is good too.

The whole place needs an update. It is clean enough but looks tired and old. Food quite good but other Stonehouse are better.

I go often to the venue either for breakfast or Sunday lunch. On this occasion, it was buffet breakfast. The service was not up to its usual high standard. Some of the food was luke warmn̈, also some items were missing or in short supply.

Very good service, my server was a gentleman named Johnny and he was very kind and effective at communicating. My disabled friend found it very easy to access which is a big deal for us. Would recommend to anyone considering going!!

Así que es la primera vez que nuestra familia ha comido en el día de Navidad y decidió reservar la taberna de crosspool. Al entrar nos recibieron y nos mostraron a la mesa número 6, que estaba muy bien establecido como lo hacemos en casa cada año. Nos sirvieron bebidas y no se apresuraron y nos hicieron muy bienvenidos. El entrante era un agradable cóctel de gambas con un ligero filete de salmón , muy agradable y sabroso justo el tamaño de porción adecuado Luego fuimos por nuestro carvery que tenía 4 carnes para elegir (beef&turkey ) y posiblemente cada verdura allí es una muy buena amplia elección. He visto algunos informes negativos y levantar una ceja porque nuestra familia de 8 en nuestra opinión pensó que era excepcionalmente bueno de toda la comida al personal muy trabajador que renuncia a su Navidad para que podamos disfrutar de la nuestra. Escuchamos algunos gemidos esperando una cena fija, pero después de todo esto es un pub carvery, así que ¿qué espera la gente? Así que gracias taberna crosspool y el personal por todo el trabajo duro en el día de Navidad y espero que la generosa propina que dejamos fue compartida en consecuencia. Definitivamente consideraremos volver el próximo año.

Booked a table for boxing day. Very disappointed there were no real ales available. Food was very good starter main and dessert for me and my partner top notch!

All the staff were extremely friendly and made our Christmas feel extra special. The food was amazing, we really couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you to all the staff for giving up their Christmas, it's appreciated more than you could know ❤️. We love the carvery so tried Christmas day fir the first time last year and enjoyed it so much we will be having our Christmas dinner every year here now 😋😋😋

Great pub, great food and atmosphere

We came here for our Christmas Day dinner. So glad we did. Absolutely beautiful food for all 3 courses. The bar and waiting staff were all very friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough even though it was very hectic for them. Louise Jonny and Polly were the ones who waited out table so would like to give them a shout out but truly all the staff were amazing. Well worth the money and thoroughly enjoyed

We booked breakfast with Santa at 9.00 am. and was told to arrive 15 minutes before our booking time. At 9.05 am we were still waiting outside a locked pub! We were told, they were running late and to sit down and someone would tell us when they were ready. At 9.20 am we were still sat there. The table had not been decorated or laid correctly and , there was not enough seats at the table or cutely for our party of six. I went up to the bar and asked if we could now order drinks and food as we had to be at the cinema for 10.40. The barman/manager? did not seem to know what he was doing and had to put the transaction through twice before I was allowed to pay. I asked about Santa and was told he was running late, I had to say do you need to know my nieces name and he said yes! It was only because another barman had asked this and we hadn’t been which I thought was strange. The breakfast itself was lovely but it did take 3 attempts to find a working pepper! No-one was serving at the buffet so we didn’t need to produce tickets and no one explained what we were to do. There were no small plates so children just had the same size as adults. Santa didn’t seem to get dressed properly, his own curly brown hair was handing out of the back of his hat for all the little children to see! We finished our breakfast and left and no one said bye or thank you. It was as though we had been invisible the whole time we had been there.

We came here for a family Christmas meal and had a great time - Louise and Johnny were excellent hosts, and had amazing Christmas jumpers! Since my Dad died, we've been bringing my Mum here for a meal at least once a week. The food is very good, (particularly the pizzas) but it's the staff who make the place. Shout out to Louise, Izzy, George and Andy and all the others (sorry, I don't know all your names) who are all really friendly and give a fantastic service! Highly recommended.

Best carvery ever! Jonny, Leni, Ben, Rich, Joe and Kyan were amazing.

Very fine establishment, lovely place. Staff are to die for, Jonny, George, Andy, Lou and countless other great souls. Had wonderful interactions with chefs such as Richard, Ben, Kyan, Joe, Alex, Leni and sue.

Place has a really nice atmosphere and really helpful staff. Can’t fault the place, food is class too.

11 of us went for my partners daughters birthday and Johnny, Lou and Eleasha couldn’t do enough for us , I will admit over the years the service hasn’t been the best (not these 3) but praise where praise is due absolutely fantastic.

Crosspool Tavern were really great at accommodating such a large group of us with only 2 days notice! The food was amazing, and the service was amazingly quick given there are just under 45 of us. Big thanks to Louise, George and Johnny for their help tonight!

A lovely traditional pub with a lovely atmosphere. It's wheelchair accessible from the carpark which is free . Staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. They serve a daily carvery and a full menu. I went for the roast and my husband had fish and chips . Both meals were expertly cooked and tasted great !

Best place I’ve been for a carvery, food was amazing and staff went above and beyond really nice atmosphere, first time I’ve been here and I’ll definitely be back
