The Bakery Ashtead in Mole Valley

This was the worst experience of a bakery I've had, I ordered 2 bacon rolls, asked for well done bacon , the lady looked at me funny and had the hump over this, on receiving my rolls both bacon was just cooked I would say raw, the food my friend had was tasteless and he threw his in the bin, I would not class this as even dog food , disgusting experience

I have been here a few times, staff are always miserable and unfriendly. Not what you’d hope for from a local bakery. Don’t expect a smile or hello if you pop in!

Popped in here for a roll; Not as large as a baguette, but longer than a round roll. Asked for lettuce, tomato, onion with may. £3.80 this little baby cost me, which i have to say i thought expensive, but however with no prices to be seen anywhere that I could see what was done was done. Few miles down the road, stuck in M25 traffic, thought id have a bite whilst watching the world pass by. Sadly instead of having my very simple 3 chosen items, i had lettuce tomato and cucumber, and I loath cucumber. How can someone get such a simple filling wrong.

£5.25 for a breakfast baguette including (allegedly) two bacon two egg two sausage. Sloppy construction, only one and half small barely cooked flavourless sausages, oily eggs with fully solid yolks, the bacon was okay, but not really full rashers. My first breakfast baguette in Ashtead since the pandemic closed down Munchies Cafe across the road. A disappointment that is 30% more expensive. I'll not be making that mistake again

Why has the independent privately owned bakery not made the listings well it has now. Been coming to this bakery for about 20+ years now under both owners, never a dull moment the staff get to know you and what you want to eat and drink, or advise you according to new products and special offers etc. The two lovely ladies Teresa & Mary here are so well switched on in this shop, knowing customers names and needs even if it's slightly of the normal,in my book is very hard to find these days please don't change it, good old customer service at its finest 10/10. Various sandwiches/rolls are premade or made for you by request if different without any questions, inc hot stuff. Other cakes & favourites are also available, along with a good selection of hot and cold drinks. Always look forward to walking through the doors and that greeting "good morning'
