Visited with friends for lunch. I had tuna mayonnaise sandwich, scone and jam along with a pot of tea. Friends had baked potato and soup. All was fresh and absolutely delicious. We will most definitely be back soon. Lovely cafe xx

Walked in here a tad worst for wear and fancied a roll and square w/bacon. Got one for me and my fellow, rough mate! I got one with red and one with brown sauce. I’d just like to say I have been dreaming about the ‘Bakehoose Bacon’ ever since! It was amazing! My only gripe is, yet again.. a tad worst for wear I went to get me another one of these rolls to find this little gem of a place is not open on a Sunday! I had to opt for a lesser rollshop in the town :(.. gutted!

My Aunt and I had a stunning lunch here. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was so attentive and relaxed. Go... its like having a wee slice of St Andrews without the bill! The classiest cafe in Carluke by a country mile. ☆☆☆☆☆

First time visiting with husband and baby boy. Staff very friendly and breakfast rolls were lovely, plenty of bacon! Interior is very clean and cozy. Waiter even helped us leave with our buggy as there is one little step at thw door and hubby was holding the wee man. We will definitely go back.

This cafe is always overpriced and the service is not very good Today I went for lunch with a group of friends and we all had food but three of us did not buy a tea or coffee. When we went to pay the bill we were each charged 50p for our glasses of TAP water........

Visited here whilst my car was in the garage getting fixed. I stayed for around 5 hours and had breakfast as well as lunch - both of which were excellent. There were lots of regular customers and the cafe had a really nice atmosphere. The owner is lovely, nothing was too much trouble for her and she was really friendly. I'd highly recommend a visit if you ever find yourself in Carluke.

We go here regularly with my mum who has Alzheimers. The staff are all friendly and caring towards us all. They know what my mum likes and how she likes it, meaning we have a stress free and relaxing visit. The homebaking is fantastic - expecially the rhubarb cake.

I dropped in and ordered a simple roll and sausage and was charge 2.50. I thought that's a bit pricey however at that price it's probably good. I was soo wrong. Gristley lumpy boney microwaved grey and disgusting meat. So I took it back and said you can keep this. Honestly wouldn't have fed it to a dog.

Visited with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed potato and leek soup followed by a baked potato with prawns. Substantial and Tasty. My wife had chicken and rice soup with a ham and cream cheese bagel which as usual was superb. Service by Laura and her staff is so friendly and welcoming.

A lovely wee coffee shop selling homemade soups, sandwiches, baked potatoes, homemade cakes and coffee. I had the chicken and rice soup which was one of the tastiest I've ever had along with a piece of sponge cake topped with butter icing and filled with rhubarb jam - yum. It's definitely worth a visit and I'll certainly be returning as the staff too were very friendly.

We walked in for a snack - ordered baked potatoes - chatted with Laura (who runs the cafe) - and became absorbed into the friendly atmosphere among the regular lunchers. And having time to spare, we wandered over to the cake display... We felt like Aladdin when he opened the treasure cave... I asked Laura who supplied the cakes: "We all do," she said... "All home-made." So while Buay selected the toffee, apple and pecan cake, I went for the coffee-&-walnut creation. Thank you, Laura... we enjoyed being introduced to your home-baking...

I have to say...I read some of the reviews and then decided to go in transit, and then found it to be unlike the reviews I'd read. One claimed it was a fusion of Indian cuisine meets Scottish Cafe. However the menu is very simple and unadventurous...the nearest to this description was a mild coronation chicken roll/sandwich.To be honest- it doesn't matter to me if it was adventurous cuisine I'd just like it to be good. This isn't a bad place to eat, it just could be better and coming from the city you typically get better for the same (or even less) for your money. I haven't eaten in any other places in Carluke, so I don't know how it compares. So the verdicts. We had a burger and a sandwich. They came with small sides of salad and crisps. A nice touch but almost too small. The burger and bun were both alright but sort of like the kind I'd expect from a nice burger van. The sandwich was fine, but nothing spectacular.Teas and coffee are limited but ok.Service a little slow.Decor a bit unclear as to what the theme is. Toilets clean.

We had read about this cafe in TA and as we were on route to Shotts we decided to try it. We had leek, potatoe and celeriac soup with sandwiches for my wife a beef panini forme and coffee. On our return journey we had afternoon tea. Everything was first rate and the service friendly. Accessible and with accessible loo, spotless. Wifi. This was the co-op bakery and they have a book of photos of old Carluke plus sepia photos round. First class. Thoroughly recommend for families, business travellers and tourists. You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to the bakehouse cafe at least a few times a month for the past 5 years and have never been disappointed. On arrival the cafe is welcoming, as are the staff. Laura is always smiling, willing to help, recommend something tasty and have a chat. The food is always perfect and their selection of tea/coffee is the best around. I would definitely recommend the cafe.

I was heading back to the motorway and came across The Bake house Cafe in Clyde street Carluke. The staff well all very helpful and attentive with the table's and area clean and tidy. I was introduced to the owner Lorna who seemed very knowledgeable and junior waiting staff seemed all well tutored and were on hand to assistant if it was needed. I live in Glasgow but was brought up in South Lanarkshire with my mother introducing me to the cafe scene from an early age. This cafe reminded me of my childhood, the coffee smell, smiling faces and attention to detail, something sadly missing from many café's I visit these days. The cafe was pretty well full with people seemingly enjoying the same experience as myself, which prompted me to do this review.I don't frequent Carluke much these days but believe this cafe can only enhance the local community. Keep up the good work and hopefully soon I'll find myself back in the area and your wonderful cafe.

The Bakehouse Cafe is now becoming one of our regular places to visit .It is small and is located on Clyde Street which is one of the main roads into Carluke coming from the Clyde Valley ; there is handy parking just across the road adjacent the well known Scotts Jam Factory. We regularly have some of the most tasty soups here as well as superb home baking. There are plently of tables and a very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.Location wise it is not the easiest to find ; indeed it is very easy to drive past without knowing however I can testify that if you go you will not be disappointed.

Have had a few lunches here, over the last year. My wife and kids have probably eaten more times than myself. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to get a seat, but I suppose this adds testament to how popular the place is. Service has always been very good and I certainly wouldn't fault any lunches that we have had. Will certainly visit again.
