My wife and I had an excellent lunch of great burgers fries and salads. So good that we returned 2 days later and had a repeat. The coffee was great too.The staff are really friendly and the restaurant is very attractive with beams and traditional stone floor. The front and back garden seating areas are both attractive too.An all round great and good value place to eat.

¡Aniversario de bodas! Condujimos hasta Broadway. Hermoso pueblo. Bastantes personas. Dimos vueltas mirando las fabulosas propiedades.Encontramos una mesa disponible en The Bakehouse. Buen distanciamiento social.

No volveré.

Visited on one of the town's Christmas late night shopping events. When we asked for a table. Omitting a hospitable welcome and smile, we were told we'd have to be out by a certain time as the place was fully booked up. Although were the only diners at the time there was little interest in providing any flexibility with the arrival of our dishes to accommodate the satisfaction of one of our party who is rather elderly. As everywhere was so busy we risked dining there and although the tapas were tasty we felt very disappointed in the atmosphere and unfriendly service.

I heard about the new Tapas evening menu and wanted to try it out and I am delighted I did. Went in very hungry and was disappointed in myself for only managing 3 dishes as so many more I want to try. I had the hummus and flatbread, pulled lamb and tabbouleh with a nice glass (or maybe 2) of my favourite wine, Chocolate block. What a treat, delicious food and the lamb recommended by Claire was absolutely stunning, so good I wanted to take home a whole plate of it and pretend i'd made it myself. There's so much more to try on the menu that I'm already planning my next visit and deciding who should be lucky enough to join me. The bakehouse is such a beautiful place with the most friendly welcome from people who really care about food and you enjoying yourself. The perception may be that the bakehouse is just a tea room/coffee shop to be enjoyed through the day but it is so much more than that and anyone who appreciates real food which tastes amazing and is prepared with care and freshly for you will find their place here. If you haven't been already during the day and haven't tried the Salt Beef Sandwich then you haven't tasted the best food in Broadway! So I recommend you take your time to relax, have some great food and wine and enjoy the moment. Right who am I taking next???

Visited on the day of the food and drink festival. Should say first of all the place was by no means busy. Walked through the main cafe into a pleasant little courtyard and were given menus by a lovely chap. Ordered two coffees and a frangipan tart (not available at 11am! so ordered a raspberry and custard slice instead) and a warm brownie with cream. Brownie arrived cold and without cream and the coffees arrived five minutes later. When we queried the brownie with the waiter he advised us he hadn't charged for the cream! It would have been nice to be told that without having to ask. Confusion seems to reign at this place. We observed one member of staff carrying an order out, one cup of coffee at a time - do they not have trays here?! Another couple sat near us still had not received their cakes by the time the coffee had gone cold! This place could be brilliant if only the staff were given some direction but unfortunately there didn't seem to be anyone in overall charge. Shame.

Went as a grown up family of 4 on a hot Sunday afternoon for lunch. We did comment on the fact that its outside tables were empty when other places were full, and we soon found out why. The service was slow (45 minutes from ordering to delivery), the food okay but expensive (£10 for a feta salad that was nothing to shout about, roughly the same for smoked salmon pate which was 1 slice of thin toast and a small jar of pate). We had to pay in advance, I was overcharged £5 as the waiter was new and charged for the wrong salad (choice of 2), but was refunded after querying it. Their choice of soft drinks was water, presse, or apple juice. We also saw and heard other patrons comment on the slow service. Might be okay out of season or just for a coffee but I’d choose in future to wait for a table at one of the other establishments over coming back here.

Absolutely LOVE The Bakehouse, situated in the beautiful village of Broadway. It's extremely unique and quintessentially Cotswold, and just oozing character. They serve light lunches that are simply delicious, and unlike the other cafe's in the village, offering your basic classic English food and sandwiches, the Bakehouse reaches outside the box, offering a visually stunning, delicious seasonal menu, that's so rich in flavour, your taste buds will be dancing. They take great pride in offering the finest quality ingredients, all from locally sourced produce, which is wonderful.

The Bakehouse is what it wants to be. Situated in a classically Cotswold building, small, cosy and quirky with 18th Century tables, glowing with candles and adorned with harlequin chairs, it has a modern, approach to food - delivering a small menu with the focus on freshness and quality - no microwave here! There are delicious staples ( the Salt Beef sandwiches / homemade flatbreads with various options / tasty soups and regularly changing hot dishes - all of which are excellent). All other elements - cheeses, charcuterie etc. are provided by local, top-drawer, artisan suppliers.

This place did very good food. Thanks. Hard actually to find any fault with. The problem is that several tables of people who came in after us were served food well before us and indeed we had almost an hour to wait before our meals were served. Which would have have been fine a) but for having young children who cannot wait that long for food when they are hungry and b) for the fact that the food was over 50% cold served- simply meats and cheeses on boards. Also felt like we had been fleeced. The bill was extortionate and to be charged £2.50 for 4 tiny pieces of toast (one slice) for my 3 year old and 50p for butter was an absolute joke. Service was slow and inattentive. Not a lot to recommend this place as there are many better places in Broadway who do things much better and actually make you feel like you are valued. Not a family friendly establishment. Avoid.

I came here for lunch with a friend as we were staying at the nearby Wood Norton hotel in Evesham for the weekend. Broadway is a very pretty, traditional, Cotswold village. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with this cafe. Menu is limited, which is fine as it’s a very small café. However, they are so inflexible and not customer-friendly at all in our view, it’s almost beyond belief!! They didn’t have many veggie options so I asked if I could just have a bagel with Swiss cheese. They had a meat bagel with Swiss cheese so I thought it would be an easy request to accommodate. The waitress was very pleasant and responded that she was sure it wouldn’t be an issue. My friend ordered a smoked salmon bagel (which was on the menu) and we ordered 2 teas. Shortly after our order was taken the waitress came back and advised us that she had been told by the ‘chef’ that they couldn’t spare any swiss cheese for me as they needed it all for their meat option (the Swiss cheese was also included in a meat sandwich on the menu). I found it hard to believe they actually count out every bit of Swiss cheese to ‘match’ the piece of meat!! …….. Unbelievable). I then said I’d leave it and just have the tea and my friend would have the smoked salmon bagel she ordered. Our tea was brought quickly and we sat there for 25 mins enjoying our tea but with no sign of my friend’s bagel arriving. Other customers sitting around us (who had come in after us) were already being served food so when we finished our (leisurely) tea after 25 minutes, we naturally came to the conclusion that it must have been a miscommunication and the waitress thought my friend didn’t want *her* bagel either due to my requested order not being permitted by the chef. At this point I went to the loo and my friend went to the counter to pay where she was then presented with the news that her bagel was ........ nearly ready!!?? My friend explained we’d already sat there 25 minutes having tea; tea was now finished and we wanted to pay for tea but we would not be paying for the bagel. The lady behind the counter became very rude, insisting that we pay for the (long-awaited) bagel. I presume this is the same lady who couldn’t spare a piece of Swiss cheese to put in a bagel for me. In the end we both left without paying as they would not accept the money just for the teas and we were not prepared to pay for a bagel after we’d finished our tea and sat there for that length of time. We then went to the Delicatessen across the road for a takeaway sandwich and they were very accommodating. All I can say about this place is avoid and, definitely avoid if you’re a vegetarian or have any dietary requirement. They are not accommodating in the slightest, even to the simplest of requests.

Sadly no, they don’t do breakfast other than croissants or possibly a bacon sandwich - “I’ll ask the chef” sort of thing. But no traditional offering, such a shame with a lovely location and environment. The Market Pantry just up the road came up trumps. Popped in to get a takeaway sausage roll. Cost £5.50 which is excessive for a fairly small roll, chef was on his phone whilst handling food which was unhygienic. Definitely would not return!

A recently opened restaurant with a lovely selection of home made cakes and delicious coffee. Tried salted caramel loaf and coffee & walnut cake and also toasted teacakes which my husband said were one of the best he had ever tried. The jam was rhubarb strawberry & vanilla - gorgeous and we were able to buy a jar to take home. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to have lunch there but the menu looked enticing. Everything freshly cooked. The owner and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Beautifully decorated and very quaint little place.

Excellent carvery and great puds, especially as only £10 for 2 courses in the day weekdays

Changed a lot since my last review the wine selection is hit and miss but everything else seems the same, except the atmosphere which feels a tad down, still busy though.

We had a great time here after a 2 mile walk on the public foot paths from Buckland on a Sunday afternoon. We were delighted to see the shoe covers for our Wellies as the paths were quite mucky. Pip, our server, was personable, fun and gracious. The views are just stunning! All four of us highly recommend this spot!
