My favourite place in Sherborne for coffee or Lunch. Lovely salads, paninis and toasted sandwiches and first class coffee. Staff are friendly, polite and service is spot on. They serve a spelt blueberry croissant which is amazing. Highly recommend it.

Sunday morning, just ahead of tourist season, but the cake choices were phenomenal, the coffee was excellent, the service was very friendly and prompt and the prices were reasonable. There are a few tables out side, but the interior is spacious and we sat in as the breeze was a bit too cold despite the sun. I had a Malteser cake, my friend had chocolate orange. Americano for me, Tea for him. The cake piece was big enough I brought half of it away with me to enjoy a bit later.

Delightful tea room/cafe which provided us with a late lunch stop on a busy Saturday in September. Very good menu, friendly, efficient staff we managed to get a table outside and after ordering inside we enjoyed our tasty purchases. Coronation Chicken, delicious and my strawberry smoothy was divine. Excellent value for money.

Found this lovely place today, just off Cheap Street in Sherborne, really friendly staff, appealing decor, clean and fresh. The coffee was really good and a nice variety of cakes and treats and a good menu to cater to all appetites. I loved the wooden and slate trays our cakes were placed on was a lovely touch. The tables and chairs are nicely placed so you don't feel crowded. We would definitely return..much nicer than the "chain" coffee shops.

My wife and I had lunch at The Bake Out yesterday: we shared a ploughman's and both had a smoothie (one strawberry and one cookies & cream). Everything was fresh and tasted clean. The star of the ploughman's was the tomato chutney, we could have had a bowl of just that! The smoothies were full of flavour and not watery or sloppy. The service was great too so would definitely recommend this place!

Second time here at The Bake Out and even better than before. Charming and welcoming staff and a good choice of treats to choose from. Love the breakfast tea - full of flavour, tasty and refreshing, hubby enjoyed his coffee too. A pleasant change to sit outside on a hot sunny day under the canopy at the front. Thoroughly enjoyed my break from work today - thank you I will be back for more!

I’m frequently in Sherborne as I live only 3 miles away and usually go to the chain coffee shops. However in this particular day I decided to visit the bake out with my 18 year old daughter. I wish I had been here before! Lovely food, friendly staff and great value. In fact, it’s now mine and my daughter’s “special dining place”.

Located at the end of the alley way leading to Swan Yard car park, popped in for a cuppa. Lovely welcome on entering the cafe, nice fluffy, friendly staff. Love the calm neutral decor very relaxing. We just had drinks on this occasion I had a hot choc and hubby had a coffee and said it was "very good with a bit of a kick". We really liked it in here and think we will pop back for lunch shortly.

The Bake Out has an open feel to it with tables on the pavement as well as indoors. The service is always very fiiendly and carried out with a style not normally found in coffee shops. The sandwiches, baguettes and cake slices are freshly made and very tasty. It iforms a quiet refuge from the serious business of Sherborne shopping - or a break from the nearby Waitrose.

Set off the high street this a small place which has only a couple of benches inside and some tables outside, it gave the impression it was mainly take a way. Not the right time of year to sit out we opted for in. Toasties served on cheese board? A very strawberry milkshake, an extremely delicious hot chocolate and a very moreish pecan and maple syrup slice. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. Not bad prices either considering it was Sherborne.

After finding this cafe by accident at the weekend, with friends and family, I made my way back there again today, and let me tell you right now, it's great. The beauty is in the sheer simplicity of the place and it's offering. And it is all very acceptable indeed. Different in this case really does work. And the friendly staff and customer care attitude is second to none. Well done to you guys and girls - top job.

This is such a perfect little cafe based in Swan Yard run by a brother and sister. They are so friendly and helpful and it's so nice to go somewhere completely independent and not part of a chain. Try the hot chocolate - scrumptious!

Such a breathe of fresh air to have a good value, modern and friendly coffee shop in Sherborne! The coffee is the best in Sherborne and I love their emphasis on recyclable cups. The Bakeout has now become my favourite place to go for a lovely coffee and cake with my friends. Will be back very soon to try the pizzas!

This should be a lovely cafe, with fresh, homemade and thoughtfully sourced food presented stylishly in a Farrow & Ball plus reclaimed wood interior. Unfortunately the last two times I've eaten here the small space was dominated by toddlers with parents who let them bawl, yell and throw their toys at other customers. Service can be slow and they have to open the only door to let the smoke from the kitchen escape. So your choice is smokey or freezing. So I think I'll find somewhere more sensible next time.

I've been visiting the The BakeOut since they first opened up back in September last year. I am a regular customer and I love it! Everything at The BakeOut is fresh, the freshly baked pastries in the morning, the gorgeous cakes that are handmade, (I defiantly recommend the Rice Krispie cake - it is to die for!!!), the sausages and bacon for the best breakfast bap comes from a local butchery and their chicken and ham for their lush wraps, sandwiches and toasties. The BakeOut is very different from all the rest as the staff are lovely, Nicola and Marcus are always so attentive and the shop has really come on leaps and bounds in under a year of opening. As it is a family run business The BakeOut is very unique and is the perfect addition to the Sherborne community!

I love this place! Staff are so friendly, always smiling and happy to go that extra mile to make my daily visits a lovely experience! Good coffee, hot chocolate to die for and a array of cold drinks. The cookies are yummy, the pizzas fantastic, the salad and sandwiches so fresh and if they don't have what you would like, they will always accommodate and have even delivered it to me if I can't pop in as held up at work! True stars! Thank you Bakeout!

The BakeOut is a great place to eat. All the food is made to order and the service is quick. I personally eat regularly here as the food is good and the service is great. I have tried most things on the menu and can particularly recommend the jacket potatoes along with one of their smoothies. The prices are exceptionally reasonable for Sherborne, so it is suitable for families to eat out in the town. It is a place that must be tried by anyone who visits Sherborne.

We stopped here on a day trip to Sherborne, there are two bench tables inside and 3 small outdoor tables with two chairs. We decided to eat in, the staff were friendly there was a selection of hot pasties and pastries, but we opted for freshly made sandwiches, we ordered a chicken salad sandwich, two ham salad sandwiches and a gluten free chicken sandwich for our 2 year old. Then we waited, and waited and waited .... our 2 year old got very impatient and despite asking the staff how long it was going to be and being assured it wouldn't be long, it took almost 30 minutes to make 4 sandwiches ... the shop wasn't particularly busy, and there were complaints from people sitting outside that they were still waiting for orders. When the sandwiches finally came they were wrong, the two ham salad sandwiches had been loaded with over an inch thick of coleslaw which had to be scraped off (no-one in our group likes coleslaw and we hadn't ordered it) the girl offered to change them but after waiting so long there was no way we wanted to wait any longer. our 2 year olds gluten free sandwich was disgusting, two stale on the edges, and soggy in the middle - defrosted pieces of gluten free bread with no butter and some chicken in the middle, she didn't eat it. We couldn't really work out what was wrong, the service just seemed to be painfully slow for anything that had to be made, really disappointing as it could be a lovely place. If you just want a hot pasty then it's probably ok.

Two visits over the last few days. Pleasant staff, decent beer and nice atmosphere but nowhere to sit - the first time all the tables in the pub were reserved for a quiz, the second time it was lad out, theatre-style, for the rugby. We cleared off to The Volunteer.

We came with friends as we had all been gifted afternoon tea, and chose to visit this tearoom. We booked just over a week in advance. What a great choice! A great selection of beautifully fresh finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam. and a selection of small cakes, which were so light. Absolutely scrumptious. We weren't rushed, so we could sit and enjoy our food. The folk working in the tearoom were very welcoming and we had a delightful afternoon. Thank you!
