Decent food hampered by slow slow forgetful service. Won't be returning, which is a shame

Very welcoming pub, with excellent service from Milly who was also very helpful providing a highchair for my granddaughter. . Food was very enjoyable, as was the beer!

A lovely pub near Newcastle Airport and not too far from Newcastle city centre. Really nice decor and nice atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful, we sat next to the real fire which is very homely. Food was nice, but not amazing. Overall, a very nice experience and I would go back.

Had big expectations due to my friends reviews but we all got disappointing. Sunday lunch was cold-ish. Small portion for the price you pay. Bad knifes that you struggle to cut the meat. Good atmosphere and service.

We, my Partner and I came for Sunday Lunch today, March 16th and were served by Millie. We would like to add that Millie served an excellent meal and provided us with all the accompaniments required: beer and soft mixed berries cordial. Everything was delicious and satisfying. One could add that we had a more than elegant sufficency. Many thanks to Millie and the rest of the very professional, experienced and efficient team for making our Sunday Lunch such a satisfying experience.

Food was really good here, £64 for 2 starters, mains and 3 sides for £10. Service was really quick and staff friendly. Only negative thing I could comment on was the stuffing as it was chestnut and bacon and there was no nut free option. Other than that amazing and will definitely come back.

Having not been in the Badger for years, the pub had been tastefully refurbished, the food was excellent and the service was good throughout!

Our favourite place to visit for a casual weekend drink. Such a lovely atmosphere with even lovelier staff. Plenty of seats available. Dogs are always welcome and the staff love them. Great service and fabulous food.

Went for a last minute dinner with family, food fantastic but what really stood out was the service and all round great energy from David our server. We noticed quite a rowdy family near us with loud children but David made sure all the children had activities to keep them entertained and kept going back to make sure everything was ok. So if you have children I 100% recommend asking for David as your server. Thanks again

Food not great. We both got the sausage and mash. Sausages were over done and tough to eat my mam really struggled. One meal had plenty of gravy luckily mams mine had very little. Quite odd as served with onion rings which were really nice. Would have preferred veg with that type of meal.

Anne our server was very amenable nothing was a bother so friendly.

Beautiful place to eat, we were lucky to get a table by the open fire which really added to the ambience of the place. Anne our server was lovely, so friendly and chatty. We had the sea bass and the pie of the day, both dishes were beautiful. Definitely will return next time we’re staying at the airport hotel.

Popped in for a quick bite with my partner on Friday evening. We both had the fish and chips which were excellent. Anne our server was fantastic.. welcoming, helpful, on the ball and a good laugh.

First time here this afternoon, but definitely not the last... Food was fantastic, even more so when you download the app and we got 40% off the mains, even without the discount it was fantastic, David our server was polite and attentive.. We had a booking for 1430 pm, but got there early and that wasn't a problem at all.. 5🌟.. Will be back soon

Really pleased with our food, tried the bar snacks 3 for £12, couldn't decide which to go for, so went for 6 in total and was not disappointed, good portion sizes and very tasty, making fab value for money. Food came out quickly and staff great...would highly recommend 👌

Nice pub, Sunday lunch was excellent. They also do other meals on a Sunday so catered for others that didn't fancy a roast dinner. David severed us and couldn't have been more helpful and cheerful.

Great food great staff lovely place great ambiance

Being a regular customer for in excess of 15 years, the food tonight was sub standard… vegetables vastly overcooked and inedible, and unfortunately no one seemed to care. Service was as usual superb, I felt sorry for the waitress who was blameless for the lousy food.

I absolutely loved this place! So friendly and all four of us was so happy with our meals. Very doggy friendly, lovely ambiance, creative dining options and plenty of parking. Chloe, our server was polite, friendly and thorough. She even asked about dietary restrictions. Restrooms were clean and bright.

We brought our dog amd had a very warm welcome from the lovely staff, who looked very well after us and the dog, who got treats water and a blanket! The food was amazing and the location is a real treat in terms of decoration and atmosphere.

My wife and our daughter and I called into the Badger at Ponteland on Saturday 15th February for lunch. No problem getting a table near the roaring fire on this cold day. Our server David was superb. He was very friendly and helpful. Service was excellent as usual, no long wait for food etc. We each had a different meal choice and all were delicious. I can recommend their traditional burger. First class all round.

Dropped in for Saturday post-valentines lunch with my wife. Our waiter Alex made us feel very welcome and, despite not having booked, he took us to a lovely cosy area by the fireplace. He was very attentive and the food came in good time and was delicious. My wife had mac and cheese side, Belgium fries (served with paprika mayo) and green veg medley which was exactly what she fancied and I enjoyed the lamb skewers with feta salad and wrap. All with plenty of flavour. We rounded off our meal with a delicious latte each and sticky toffee pudding to share. Would recommend and visit again when in the area.

We came for Valentine’s Day, had a lovely 3 course meal as well as lovely staff, Alex was super nice and welcoming.

Food was okay apart from the starters. One chicken skewer with 3 lumps of chicken on seemed a bit tight for one starter. My Liver Pate had 3 massive slices of bread and the finest sliver of pate to go with it. Had no pate left to go with most part of the bread left. Service was very poor… nobody told us about registering our parking in order to avoid charges upon arrival. Terrible lighting at tables…massive spot lights on the tables, felt like a UFO was about to land on our dinner! Main server was very loud and not very attentive. Asked if we wanted to order drinks when we arrived which we did and then came back to take our food order and asked if we wanted to order drinks again and I said we were still awaiting our first order of drinks…probably waited close to 15 minutes for our first drinks to arrive and this was at 6pm, not busy… I’m rating the service poor as tbf I could have gone to any local hungry horse and had the same service, for some reason I thought this may have been better. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Poor service and stingy, uninspiring menu. Not worth the money or leaving the house for.

Visit to the Badger for lunch fish and chips were really good. Very professional service very short waiting time . Definitely worth a visit.

We waited a very long time for our food and the place did not seem at all busy. When the food arrived the bacon chop was inedible and my fishcakes were burnt to a crisp, sorry but will not be coming back,

Disappointed with the staff/pub for not highlighting that parking within the pub car park comes with a £60 penalty if your vehicle isn't registered inside the pub. With a poorly lit car park, the signage isn't viable and therefore I would expect the pub to highlight that the vehicle needs to be registered. Having a family meal with multiple vehicles parking at the time, we know that at least 2 out of 3 of us have been charged so far. Good way to make some extra cash.

We booked the conservatory at The Badger for a 90th birthday celebration. The room was lovely and ideal for a big family get-together. The buffet was good and staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Recommended.

Ordered chicken & avocado Salad, with extra king prawns came with no avocado & chicken was dry as sticks. When paying bill they took off the price of prawns which was good of them but £16.50 for a salad is a bit much when it was mostly all lettuce 🤔

A private room was booked for an annual dinner for around twenty people on a Thursday evening first week in February 2025. There were not a lot of other customers there at this time, a quiet night. Although the company of friends made for an enjoyable evening, the food was a great disappointment. My opinion is that it is very overpriced and certainly on that occasion, was overcooked and dry. Most of the party were in agreement, with "bland" being the kindest review. I paid £8.50 for a pate starter, for which I received a portion of pate the size of a credit card and about 5 millimetres thick. It did not have any exceptional qualities to warrant it's wallet robbing price, and of course requires little in the way of preparation to be served to a customer. My main course was the chicken parmigiana at £17.95. Again not a large portion of the main ingredient, but it's main fault was that it could not be described as juicy or succulent, it was much closer to being overcooked. Overall a very poor quality meal at an inflated price. The timing of the courses was good but glasses were not cleared from tables, so service not the best either. I do understand large parties present problems for kitchens but you either run a professional establishment or you don't. I understand some of the party did complain and were given partial refunds. I doubt that any recommendations will be given out from those who attended on that evening.

I visited the Badger on 28th Jan about 7.30 pm before my flight out next day, I was met by Alex who showed me to a table near the blazing fire. Alex took my order and food arrived very quickly and was delicious, the fish and chips were to die for, I must say he was very busy and also a very polite young lad and a great member of staff to have. Lovely lunch for my Dads 93rd birthday staff lovely, food excellent, reasonable prices, no massive mark up on wine. Paid £22 for a good Pinot Noir whereas the same in Newcastle City Centre was £49.99! Good place, good food, good people- packed on a Wednesday so book to avoid disappointment

Great service and atmosphere and the food was amazing! We had Sunday lunch and some drinks. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the Wet Charge which I don’t agree with but other than that it was perfect.

Food was amazing, dave was our server very attentive and friendly.

Came in on the 24th January. Was greeted by Chloe who was incredibly friendly and very helpful. She allowed us to be seated near to one of the fires as per our request and was prompt with our orders. The food came very well presented and was delicious. Will definitely be back.

My server was Dave and all I can say is that this man could work in a 5star business, he was quick clever and created such a wonderful atmosphere from start to finish and even on a busy night he always had time to help and never failed to make me or my wife smile . Come here every week. staff are great, friendly and welcoming, food is really nice, good portions and reasonably priced. Great selection of drinks. The Iced lattes are my fav!

Mixed experience. Milly, our waitress, was fabulous - really friendly and welcoming. Crab fishcakes were fab. Five stars. Sea bass was really good. Four stars. Lamb skewers were cold, overcooked and over-priced. One star. Slaw was awful. One star. Sticky toffee pudding was really good. Four stars. A gorgeous building, had wanted to visit for ages but don't think I'll be returning, based on this experience.

Food quality and service were excellent. Sunday roasts were lush, and good sized portions. Servers/staff were very friendly and helpful.
