Went with family, was ecxcellent food and service will be back very soon xx

Family lunch 2 adults, 2 toddlers. Nobody on front welcome desk, sat down, got moved, no menus, asked for menus and got chastised for not checking in, told we had no menus as we did not wait to be seated (having been reseated by staff), I said 'shall we just go then?'. Got menus, surly waitress, Scampi £11, chips £3.50 extra, pizza £12, 1 kids battered sausage & chips, coffee & 2 Cokes, £42.30. Thanks, won't be back.

Lovely fish and chips, generous portions

Despite it being Bank Holiday and extremely busy, the queues for the takeaway moved fairly quickly, order taken, and less than 5 mins wait for order to be prepared. Less than 15mins from joining the queue to walking out with piping hot, fresh food.

Food was good, service and atmosphere were both good.

Brilliant place. Lovely staff and warm welcome. Gorgeous food at a reasonable price and massive bonus of having an ice cream parlour aswell.... Highly recommend.

Shocked at how much 5 fish bites and chips were. £19 for so so fish and chips, a small coke and a bottle of water is a bit much , the chips and batter on the fish were both soggy and not a great deal of taste. They were only in the box for 2 mins max as ate them just outside the shop. A bit disappointing.

Down in Blyth Northumberland for a few days and read about this place being decent especially for their fish and chips. £18.50 for Cod or Haddock with chips mushy peas pot of tea,and a small roll with butter. Place was busy but seating available,shown to a booth and didn't have long to wait before someone came and took the order and payment. Service was quick and large portion of Haddock and chips,looked really nice and was as good as it looked. Lovely fish and chips well worth the money and small roll came with small sachet of Lurpak butter. Can thoroughly recommend Coastline Blyth.and plenty of free parking on site.

Out for a family walk and lunch. I want to say a big thank you to a young man called Ben. He could see our three separate families wanted to eat tiger. He moved tables and chairs and got us sorted. We don't get together often and this was a nice touch.

Very good fish and chips. Grossly overpriced at almost £15, however due to very generous portions one between two adults should suffice.

Food is a bit pricey but top notch

Thought we would have the popular fish n chips whilst out at the coast for afternoon.. Neither of us enjoyed fish/fish bites with chips. Portions were good but far too greasy.

Considering it was Good Friday we must be fair and share that while exceptionally busy the service was excellent (commendation to the lad at the door) food was great and everything was prompt all considered… however do take a peek at the attached image as someone should proofread your menu

Just been for our annual Good Friday Fish and Chips, as per expected it was very busy. My husband ordered 6 Fish Bites & Chips, child’s sausage & chips meal deal and a coke. Grandsons was happy with his meal, when I opened the tray what I thought was Fish Bites & Chips I suddenly discovered 6 chicken nuggets hidden under all the chips. We’ve travelled about 20 miles for Fish only to be given chicken nuggets, husband was so hungry he ate his 3 but I couldn’t as I don’t like them. Paid over £18 definitely a rip off!

Possibly the best fish we have ever had. Batter perfectly cooked. Huge portions so couldn't finish mine .Service was very friendly and quick. Spotlessly clean. Wine reasonably priced.Toilets immaculate.

Decent chip butty, quick service too. Nice that you can add your own salt and vinegar but the butty lacked any real depth.

Good food but we waited 10 minutes for cutlery, after our food was brought to us. we asked a server when our meal was brought to us for cutlery they said they would get some but did not return. I had find another member of the team to ask, meanwhile food was going cold. There were maybe 6 tables in, so we didn't understand why we had to wait so long 🤔

Great fresh food cooked to order really good prices .

Fabulous day out for my grandads 80th birthday. We had to wait a little while in the queue but this was because it was a lovely day outside and dinner time too. We were a family of 9 with children but the staff were Fabulous and seated us altogether at the back of the restaurant. The food was tasty, hot and freshly cooked. Would recommend to anyone. Oh and try the ice cream too!

Food was lovely although a little too expensive for what it is, the service was friendly but we had to wait a long time as it was so busy and there was no space in the queue to put my friends wheelchair. Nice as a one off treat!

Fantastic chippy... Can be a bit of a wait for anything that needs cooked... Great chips but beware of the small bread bun as it's tiny for 40p...

We love coastline the food is always outstanding but today was a very big let down the fish meat was grey and the portions of chips was a very small portion a big let down so disappointing the staff are excellent as always, please do better next time

My children love coming here for ice cream i especially like that they cater for my Little girl who has coeliac disease they use a different scoop and tell us which ice creams she can choose from that don't contain gluten

Brilliant fish and chips - love coming here. Chips are really good and the fish is amazing. I've given 5* for atmosphere but it's a chippy so not sure what atmosphere you'd be looking for!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Other reviewers are spot on about the high prices. £10 for a piece of fish to takeaway! Yes, it's a big portion, but lacking in quality. I have tried their cod and their haddock on several occasions. Both are rather dry and chewy. The chips also are hit and miss. Sometimes okay, but other times floury inside, rather dry and lacking flavour. Perhaps the worst thing is the ratio of 'scratty ends' you get to normal shaped chips. For the money, they could do better.

Ordered chips etc the portion size was terrible the chips well they weren’t great mostly just soggy and mostly just just of little bit of chips asked for batter which we didn’t receive also the staff weren’t very friendly try other chips shops as it’s a bit over priced too

Fabulous food - just a bit overpriced. I opted for a kids meal which was just right for me.

My kids said this is the nicest fish they've had in ages! Really organised service. You do need to ask for ketchup but it is free! Help yourself to salf & vinegar which is great in our family as one loves vinegar and the other doesn't and they usually share an adult meal! Plenty of space outside to sit with the dog.

Awful could not be worse Me and my friend came in and it was not busy we were sat in a tiny table where you could not sit opposite had to be sat side by side and before I could ask to move the server was gone then she send us move and no one came to take our order despite her seeing this and I asked someone else to take our order he said yes then never returned, then had to stick my hand up for someone to take there finger out of there a** and come over then they bring us 3 forks instead of 2 forks and 2 knife’s, this is the second time after moving seats there has been an issue, if this were my staff I would be so embarrassed the manager should be ashamed not disciplining there staff, looking at the other reviews it’s obviously a common occurrence. Staff always looks so miserable aswell. Such a disgrace.

Wow it was busy! But they were (as always) very efficient in getting customers through the takeaway as quickly as possible. We had a portion of scampi and it was piping hot and delicious. Along with chips, curry sauce and mushy peas it was just the ticket. Lovely staff and great car park.

Love this place, been coming here for 30 years

We visited Coastline Fish & Chip Restaurant today after a break of almost two months. It is one of our favourite's and we have been going there for many years. The quality & quantity of food have never been a problem - until today! We ordered the Coastline Special (Cod & Chips) and were surprised when it was served with only half the amount of chips we would normally receive. We questioned this with our server and she referred us to the Supervisor. The Supervisor advised us that, in order to keep costs down, the owners have decided to reduce the portion size of the chips. The Supervisor then apologised and said there is nothing she could do. There weren't enough chips to go with the cod that was on the plate. The customers on the next table even commented and said they thought the portion of chips look like a child's portion. What will the owners do next - reduce the size of the cod too? In my opinion, if the margins are that tight that they can't afford to serve a normal size portion of chips with the meal, then there is something drastically wrong with their business model. And they did increase the price last year in any event! All in all, a very disappointing meal that I had been looking forward to. I don't think that I will be hurrying back any time soon.

Delicious food Clean Service quick and very polite

Came here between Christmas and new years with a friend and had never been before. It’s quite wide open with lots of space which is nice. The menu is wide and extensive and reasonably priced. When you order you pay up front which makes it nice and easy - waiting around after eating is always a pain! We got the fish and chips for £16.50 and you get a side, and a drink, and a small bread roll and butter. The haddock and chips was delicious. So good I could have eaten ten of them. The bathrooms are nice and clean as well which always helps! This is a great restaurant and if you’re looking for good fish and chips then this is the place to be!

Really excellent restaurant where the food is second to none

My wife made me come here as she said it was excellent, but I would class it as ‘alright’. It was very busy, and someone who works there decided to seat his 5 kids on the table next to us. All they did was scream. The food was average, they were stingy with the chips and the fish was rather tasteless. The batter was very nice though, as were the mushy peas. I did like the fact they charged you when you order at the table, so no waiting around for the bill. More places should do this. Service was below average, no smiles and the lady who seated us seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else. They didn’t give us milk for our pot of tea and we got told it was with all the condiments up at the front. But….no milk so we had to ask again. To be fair the guy with the kids noticed and shook his head at the server. I would say £33 for our food was not really worth the money, so I won’t be rushing back.

The fish was nice, but small, half the size of my local, chips were nice, but yet again small portion and the bread bun, well a seagull would swallow it in one go, it's been eighteen months since I was here, and nothing has changed, so it's going to be my last. The staff were very friendly and the place was nice and fresh. But at these prices for the amount you are served, i feel it's not worth it.

I'm beyond annoyed with this place the food was very average the portions are feckin tiny I payed like £13.00 g For mingey little chicken strips that are frozen out of a bag and 2 sausage's... I really cannot compair the food to the price below average and way over price they could surely give some extra chicken strips for £6 quid fuming I was don't bother going here for food a right kip 😡😡😡😡😡

Great place for a catch up, cuppa etc

This place has gone downhill so much over the years. Used to be the best chippy around now shocking. Chips barely cooked and all bruised and barely peeled. Won’t be going back sadly.service was terrible also, older lady who serviced us was miserable and messed up the order.

Very disappointed with very cold dry cod and chips. The fish looked beautiful and I'm sure it would have tasted delicious had it been freshly cooked to my order. We have bought these fish and chips on many occasions and they have always been delicious. At £28 for cod and chips and 1 portion of peas not cheap. Will we risk it again not sure to be honest.

Food was phenomenal, really nice and didn’t take too long to come, weren’t asked if everything was ok, weren’t asked if we needed anything else, forgot the curry sauce :(, probably won’t go again but the pie was tasty and the fish bites were ginormous. Wanted to box the food up to take home, nobody approached us - kind of just stood around looking blankly at eachother and customers.

I came here on Saturday night for something to eat whilest watching the fireworks, and it has made my whole family ill, as soon as i ate the food it went straight through me, everyone in my family are I’ll complaining that they have stomach cramps and needing the toilet will not be coming back, clearly food wasn’t cooked properly or food hygiene was bad not worth £40 at all

Since the redevelopment of blyth beach, the area has had such an improvement. A great place to pass a couple of hours of your day or night.

Really disappointed. Ordered fishcake chips and a bread bun. With tar tar sauce. No tar tar sauce and the bread bun was mouldy. Called to complain to be told they would give me the 80p back for the bun. totally put off given that I had eaten half of the bun before I noticed. Shocking really. Ruined the entire meal but no offer to refund that!

Delicious huge cod n chips with choice of side dish and pot of tea, friendly efficientstaff. I come often, then get an ice-cream after and walk to the sea to eat it whole looking for seals

Lovely “beach food” experience, with fantastic staff! If you’re looking for a real Geordi Saturday afternoon lunch, they offer a really good fish and chips (cod)! Freshly fried in a light batter, with REALLY good chips on the side, the plate was truly a good value - it was a HUGE piece of fish!

Visited on multiple occasions and each time the food is exceptionally tasty, the fish is wonderfully chunky. Highly recommend a visit. The milkshakes are lovely too.

Not recommended. Very expensive for the amount served. When ordering fish and chips, they are priced separately. First time visit, definitely the last.

What's the point of fish and chips in a box but you have to pick up your own salt and vinegar on the way out, reopening the box to have to close it again, why can't you add some like every chippy since chips were invented. Poor service, fish and chips ok, but Broadway a short distance away is much better.

Food here is lush, I recommend the cod or the chicken burgers! Bit pricey but I guess everywhere is these days. The ice cream on the other hand is second to none! Absolutely lush 😍

The battered cod was really good, just the right amount of chips too, though, I’ve had better chips. I agree they are at the top price point for a portion of fish and chips, especially as it was takeaway but you make the choice to buy them at that price so you can’t moan. The food was a bit slow, there was no one else waiting for food to takeaway but that’s likely due to food going out to the restaurant. Would be nice to see a mini fish and chips on the menu (not a kids menu item) for people that don’t have such a big appetite.

You can eat in here, but I had takeaway Plaice and chips. Poor value at £11.20. The fish was breadcrumbed and tasteless. Even loads of salt and vinegar could not lift it. The chips were anaemic and equally tasteless. A half lemon woukd have been nice. Too complacent due to thier location next to the beach I think. Cannot recommend.

It can get a bit busy during peak times so you have to wait for your food, but it means it fresh. Food portions are okay, but not fantastic. The one single bad thing is it's become very popular and commercial so the atmosphere it used to have is no longer there.

Cod & Chips. Haddock & Chips takeaways. Sunday 15th Sep 2024. First impression - nice clean place, well set up. Thought the price a bit high at first at £26, HOWEVER, after we both thoroughly enjoyed the excellent portions and quality - it was worth every penny!. Only visiting area otherwise would definitely be a regular customer. 5 🌟.
