Delicious huge cod n chips with choice of side dish and pot of tea, friendly efficientstaff. I come often, then get an ice-cream after and walk to the sea to eat it whole looking for seals

Food is good, maybe a bit pricey but enjoyable.

Chips need some life breathing into them unfortunately chips where white and not crispy 😒

Lovely “beach food” experience, with fantastic staff! If you’re looking for a real Geordi Saturday afternoon lunch, they offer a really good fish and chips (cod)! Freshly fried in a light batter, with REALLY good chips on the side, the plate was truly a good value - it was a HUGE piece of fish!

Visited on multiple occasions and each time the food is exceptionally tasty, the fish is wonderfully chunky. Highly recommend a visit. The milkshakes are lovely too.

What's the point of fish and chips in a box but you have to pick up your own salt and vinegar on the way out, reopening the box to have to close it again, why can't you add some like every chippy since chips were invented. Poor service, fish and chips ok, but Broadway a short distance away is much better.

Food here is lush, I recommend the cod or the chicken burgers! Bit pricey but I guess everywhere is these days. The ice cream on the other hand is second to none! Absolutely lush 😍

You can eat in here, but I had takeaway Plaice and chips. Poor value at £11.20. The fish was breadcrumbed and tasteless. Even loads of salt and vinegar could not lift it. The chips were anaemic and equally tasteless. A half lemon woukd have been nice. Too complacent due to thier location next to the beach I think. Cannot recommend.

It can get a bit busy during peak times so you have to wait for your food, but it means it fresh. Food portions are okay, but not fantastic. The one single bad thing is it's become very popular and commercial so the atmosphere it used to have is no longer there.

Cod & Chips. Haddock & Chips takeaways. Sunday 15th Sep 2024. First impression - nice clean place, well set up. Thought the price a bit high at first at £26, HOWEVER, after we both thoroughly enjoyed the excellent portions and quality - it was worth every penny!. Only visiting area otherwise would definitely be a regular customer. 5 🌟.

Ridiculously expensive. Food really wasn't anything special, just a very busy place in an ideal location so people use it for convenience.

Great spot for a sit down fish and chips meal. We ate fish bites and the haddock which came hot and crispy with lovely batter. We shared the chips and still had plenty. Also on offer are breakfast stotties and other breakfast items at a great price. It’s always busy which tells you what you need to know. Great ice cream shop next door too

We like to visit Coastline as the portion sizes are enough to share between 2 and the service from staff is absolutely fantastic they ate always friendly.

Ironically have been past this place for years but never got a chance to stop and try it till the other week. Astonishing chips, and reminds me of an awesome chippy that I used to go to at the fish quay, love their chip butties, perfect portions, perfect buns, really good price and just awesome, gonna try to stop here more often now.

Only had a bag of chips and they were a little tasteless. Edible but nothing to write home about. Worth going just for the beach tho.

Very impressed with the fish and chips from here, big portions, a well priced special and tasty ice cream for afterwards. The only, tiny little downside, is the vinegar. It’s not quite ‘chip shop’ vinegar more like Sarsons. Change this and it will be perfect!

We sat in the new terrace out the back which was really smart. This was ideal as we needed somewhere quiet to sit. All the staff were very friendly and so helpful. Food is always amazing here, our favourite place for fish n chips. Thank you for making our visit stress free and very much enjoyed.

Very busy but the staff were working fast. So it was £10 just for haddock then £3 odd for chips and £3 for mince pie ( a little expensive). . The fish was very nice as was the batter.

Not the cheapest however if you want the best in my view this is definitely the place quality has not changed in 10 years and you can sit on the prom overlooking the beach, weather permitting obviously. This is my chippy treat!!!!

Seating is perfect for what this place is. A proper seaside chippy. As for the food I was expecting a huge plate full of mediocre chips, instead I got just enough which were perfectly cooked. I chose to have a jumbo sausage and again I wasn't disappointed. For those with a sweet tooth they also sell fresh ice cream for desert. Well worth a stop off on your way to the likes of Alnwick, Cresswell perhaps.

Went for takeaway, I had chips and curry sauce, wife had fish bites and boys had chicken nuggets and chips. Only down side is boys only got 3 small nuggets which for the cost was so so.

Tasty, good value food, child friendly and pleasant staff

Ate takeaway fish & chips (kids) for lunch and we have felt unwell since. It didn't say what type of 'fish' it was but the only fish that makes us feel unwell is Basa! I won't be buying again as I've lost trust. Haddock or cod fine.

Really nice atmosphere and a popular place, had no problem being seated despite how busy it was. A bit of a wait for food and drink which came out sporadically rather than all together. Service from staff was great though so not fussed about it at all. Food was great so happy all round.

We visit coastline as a family all the time to sit in and takeaway. Myself and partner always share a large fish, chips & mushy peas today we had around 9 chips on the plate my child’s chicken nuggets and chips had the same amount of chips on. Spoke with a supervisor who initially talked over me to chat to my 2 year old about the fork she was showing her whilst I was discussing the lack of chips. She proceeded to do this again which made it clear she wasn’t interested, when I carried on talking about the portion size. I said we’ve always shared a large meal she said they’re a standard portion and it’s a meal for 1 my partner said it a large fish and chips she said it’s the fish you pay for my partners response was yes but not with a child’s portion of chips and she said well you must’ve got lucky last time and walked away. No apology and no customer service or people skills very rude. Left really deflated and annoyed as we’ve always loved coming here. Regretted not taking a picture I was too annoyed to think about it until we left.

Had around a 10 minute wait for a seat as it was quite busy, staff were amazing and never stopped. Fish and chips were top class and cooked to perfection 👌 Nice clean restaurant area and toilets were immaculate and free parking which is a bonus. Well worth a trip out

First time eating inside the American diner. Loved it. The icecream was absolutely delicious. 2 scoops in a tub was never ending. I highly recommend the ferero Roche 😋

If you're into the whole busy, family beach visit then this place is for you. They've recently added a Greggs and Co-op around the other side of where the chippy is (behind it). As well as a quaint little cafe on the corner. You can't miss it, it's as you drive into the car park, on the right side. There's a free park for the kids, a nice green for the dogs to run around, with seating placed around the edges and near the long (life guards) building, it's the one with the taller part of the building towards the seafront. The beach is pretty much always kept clean as well as the hard paved/concrete walking area alongside it. You also get a great view out to sea, minus the few wind turbines. Dogs are allowed around the area and there's even a mobile, self service dog wash to get all that sand off before getting back into the car. There's plenty of accessible parking too, just as you enter the car park, located right next to the cafe. There are also public toilets located in the 'long building' on the opposite side of the cafe / chippy. As if you're walking towards the sea. Pretty sure there's a small charge to use them. The chip shop service is good, but it can get really busy, so be prepared to wait. The food is 'alright'. It's not the best chippy and the prices just seem to be forever climbing, but it's okay. If you want cheaper cans / bottles of pop, I'd suggest using the co-op. There's also an ice cream van that usually parks up near the accessible parking area. Excellent customer service and the best chips

We got seated quickly but waited about 10=15 mins before someone came to take our order. We had a small square of coconut & jam cake each @ £2.50 a piece and a soft drink each @ £3.00 each. We were quite underwhelmed at the quality of the food and drink. Won't be rushing back.

Way too expensive, I understand it's in a desirable location but when you are a single mam with two children it's a canny bit to shell out for some fish n chips at the sea side!

I can not recommend this place enough. From the moment we walked in there was great customer service, food came out quick and fresh, drinks were good and the restaurant was clean.

Stunning food & service in the restaurant, seafood was fresh & delicious. Staff were efficient & friendly! Very clean & lovely atmosphere. We went through to the Ice cream area afterwards looking forward to finishing our meal with an award winning ice cream, Sunday 23rd June 24’ lady taking orders, dark hair & dark glasses very unprofessional & actually quite rude, I said as I moved along the queue (to my husband) “I found the lady very rude” to which another member of staff, blonde hair heavily tattooed nearly jumped over the counter asking “what’s your problem” which I replied I was talking to my husband. We did get in a bit of a heated discussion as I found her attitude disgusting, unprofessional & very embarrassing (for your business) despite awful staff It wouldn’t put me off returning as the ice cream it elite!

Extremely busy 21/6 around 5pm,myself and 2 kids went to get something to eat my daughter doesn't like places to noisy so I asked the member of staff if we could sit in the part of the restaurant in front of you just as you go in the door it was alot quieter so quiet they closed that section of the restaurant seriously how busy you are common sense would tell you to keep the whole place open. Badly organised can't cope with pressure as for the take away section what a joke about 15 people waiting for there order at least 30 people in the door, you know your going to busy put a system in place let so many in the takeaway section close the door wait till them orders have been cooked then open the door again so you don't get overwhelmed with customers and panic under pressure. I've lived in the North now for 6 years I lived in the south of the country for most of my life moved North for a slower pace still paffles me to this day how much people loose the plot especially at the first sign of pressure example Extremely busy restaurant with half of the restaurant closed seriously!!!!

Ten to four in the afternoon. Girl taking the order was disengaged, no eye contact. Girl serving the food was lovely and smiley. Please note that everyone has moments and customer service can be a trial. Fritto misto was delicious, great value at £10; a real treat. Chips at £3.20 were tragically undercooked and there were too many black bits. These were notably poor value and spoiled the experience. There is really no need to serve that tasty tartare sauce in its own plastic. Just squirt it on. Please! A wedge of lemon would not go amiss. If you like to eat with an enthusiastic, feathered audience, grab a table outside.

It's a great beach for a walk. In warmer days, it's good for swim too. Also there is a part that pets are allowed.

Used to be really nice. Chips were soggy, batter on fish was hard, felt like it had been cooked twice. On top of that wasn't that hot. I think £18 for fish and 2 portions of chips and 1 curry sauce is expensive. WON'T BE REVISITING.

A Whale of a Fish but the Chips on the Dish were not as Crispy outside as we would Wish. The Toilets were a wee bit Manky to be Fair. However: Staff were Run of their Feet when we were There!

Very large and very busy seaside fish restaurant and gelateria, my cod was large meaty and tasted very fresh in its light crispy batter - perfect. However the chips were lacklustre, pale, and slightly soggy. Huge amount of staff employed here yet still waited twenty minute's for my food (I guess freshly cooked to order) but then I had to go source my own cutlery and condiments, including a wooden spoon to stir my tea. Could have been better, they are close to being very good.

Recommendation was High thus Heights were not reached. The Chips were Not Crispy though the FISH Delicious; the Plate Breached! Mushy peas were hard & Too Cool to bother eating from Separate Pot. Main Toilet Door could do with Regular Cleaning: Not enough Staff to put on the Spot! be Fair Monday's Weather was a Perhaps a Surprise, thus Staff were clearly Short. Run off their Feet I guess ALL DAY : IN ALL: They Smiled : So Not on Report 😁

Dropped in with our grandson for ice cream and coffees, service was spot on, very pleasant and helpful, the ice cream was tremendous, we tried pistachio and chocolate, some of the best we've had. Coffee was spot on, , the Americano was really good, nice and strong, skinny latte also really tasty. Nice surroundings, near to beach and play area, plenty of parking
