Moby Dicks in Northumberland

Just had the worst Fish & Chips EVER - overcooked, dry fish, the batter was burnt on the underside. Struggled to cut the fish with a normal knife, think a steak knife would have been slightly better! Who needs a steak knife for fish & chips!!!!!!

Used to be a great chippy but tonight service was poor and portion sizes of the chips has halved. Charged for my order in full but when I got home an item was missing inside the wrapping. Not worth the bother going back. Will try other chippy 's in future.

Mobys isn’t the best chip shop around but it’s handy for us, so we keep popping in now and then when needs must. Pizzas and kebabs etc seems to be the order of the day here now, as they’re taking over the menu board and the traditional side of the shop. To me, you’re either a fish n chip shop or not. This is a hit and miss type of place. Every now and then you’ll get lovely fish n chips from here, but unfortunately it’s a rarity. Like tonight, usually it’s dry chips (which copious amounts of vinegar can’t even rectify) and thin fish of which the freshness has to be questioned. Tonights went in the bin halfway through. Been coming here since I was a kid and I think it’s been owned by the same people for many years. The staff are second to none and great craic, but even that’s not enough to make me want to come back again. 40yrs I think, but I’ve been so disappointed lately. Shame.

This is the third time I had cod bites peas and chips the chips were hard and just warm the cod bites were tough as old boots have they changed their fryers or something very poor fir the money that we paid will not be going back will go to kings down the station .

We'd been busy on Tuesday so my wife suggested getting food from here, used numerous times before and food had usually been OK. She got a tray of kebab meat while I had a donner kebab and salad, we both left most of it as it swimming in grease and not very nice. Both us were feeling ill after about an hour, without going into detail we've now been 'ill' for 2 days, standards have slipped for sure. We will never use again!

Don't know where they get fish from.....but they should change supplier 7pm on a friday night and it was as tough as old boots and not cheap £7

Moby Dicks serves generous portions of food. Piping hot and very tasty. Pizzas 2 for £5.50 are well worth the money too. Very friendly staff who always find time to chat to you while you wait. A visit is a must !

Ample parking outside. Very pleasant staff and massive portions. Great choice of fish, pizzas and kebabs.

Although the prices may have have risen in recent years, the quality and size of portion has remained the same and is always a good choice

Delicious fish and chips. Highly recommend. Friendly staff and haddock cooked to order. Batter is light and crispy. Fish beautifully cooked.

Went here last week for a change, usually it's very nice but hadn't been for ages. The fish was incredibly dry as was my fishcake which was almost inedible. I won't be returning as it was nearly 3 pound dearer than Kings for 2 meals. Chips were OK though

We often use Moby's as it is easy to get to the staff are very friendly and the food is first rate and good value

We always get the lite bite from here and it’s lovely. Cod bites x 2, chips and either curry sauce,gravy or peas. £3.95, bargain. Lovely staff,always cheerful.

Been here on two occassions visiting my family and had the fish and chips and it was delicious.cant wait to try more on the menu.its good to find a quality fish shop.im from northamptonshire and wasnt sure where to go but my sister said try mobys and i will be visiting again when im in the area.oh yeh plus the staff very pleasant and friendly.

Lovely place for a bite to eat, this well established fish & chip shop is always busy which tells you how good the food is. Very reasonable prices, good portion sizes and delicious food. If you are going for a pizza I would recommend the three meat special, delicious. And to top it all off the staff are very polite and friendly, always chatting to the customers.

Love there food always well cooked and best batter going , have my granddaughter every weekend and its the first thing she asks for at tea time her best food is sausage chips and loads of batter .

Fish and chip dinner was lovely,crispy batter,nice cooked brown chips,plenty of salt and vinegar too.

Sometimes decent, but sometimes absolutely awful. Seems to go for quantity over quality, but have to say the donner kebab is fantastic.

El pescado es agradable y crujiente y las patatas fritas son preciosas y doradas, pero suaves. La salsa de ajo es extremadamente fuerte, pero precioso y los otros son sabrosas salsas. Hay espacio suficiente para pararse y esperar que guarda muy agradable y cálido. Lo único que puedo decir es que algunos de los empleados puede parecer un poco hortera, pero la comida es sin duda vale la pena!

The fish is always very well cooked, with crispy batter and tasty fish, the size of the fish is above average. They always give you a good serving of chips.

Fish n chips fantástico. El personal siempre es amable. La única pega que no hacen dilivery. Quizás no es una mala cosa o ser mucho más pesados que wnould. Jajaja.

When you order fish and chips the size of the meal ordered is quite substantial and well worth the money charged. There is a huge range of choice for consumption and the staff are always friendly.

The best fish n chips in bedlington by far.Always a good piece of fish, in golden brown batter, just crispy. No bones. Plenty of chips. A meal from paradise.

They do a lot of different foods here so not just a fish n chip shop. Portions are a okay size.Normally pop in after a few drinks as there isn't much in the area to take out.

Huge fish with a very large varied menu. Take away only.Kebabs,pizzas,salads,pies,fish amd chips. What more could you ask for.

Simply the best fish n chip in town. Batter is light and crispy. Staff are friendly and the premises are spotless.

There's no other chipshop within miles that can compare with Moby Dicks.Unlike most chip shops they don't have dried fish and chips that have laid around for what seems like an eternity when it's quiet- it's freshly cooked. And I love the chicken too.I haven't got a car now but will happily bike there - buses aren't a realistic option in the evening because of poor timing and rarity- but whatever the weather it's worth it!Thanks guys and gals! Often get food here, lovely staff, good chips and the fish is nice too. Hubby gets the kebab meat and he says its lush. Good value.

Very nice clean Fish and Chip Shop. The staff are all friendly and the quailty of the fish snd chips are very good. You always get good value for money and the portion sizes are more than adequate.If you are in the area, feel secure in the fact your going to get some lovely traditional yummy grub from a very clean and frendly local shop.

The fish and chips at this take away are second to none. Friendly staff and good quality fish if you can eat a whole one!As this is local to us we have had opportunity to visit many times and we are rarely disappointed
