The Avon Lounge in Stratford-on-Avon

The manager half owner of the Avon Lounge mark was so abusive and nasty to my husband and my self I would not recommend this place

Much that I love this little corner of Stratford-upon-Avon, I'm afraid £5.90 for a Stella is just plain daft. Sure they will have overheads but we are not in London so don't think you can swindle hard working people with some music cheap lights and false smiles.

One of few venues open late on a Friday in Stratford (certainly at this time of year). Music was great-classic tunes. Service at the bar was relatively swift despite being busy. Owner seemed friendly and keen for people to be having a good time. Had a good atmosphere and enjoyed the night overall with a good mix of clientele. Security staff present inside and swiftly moving on anyone causing nuisance. Downsides- became slightly over full as night went on. A couple of people questionably old enough to be present. Limited toilets & always busy- some drug use in them evident. Young people overindulging leading to vomiting floor and over others-although again dealt with swiftly. I would suggest that raising the age for entry in the evenings would improve the experience and help remove many of the 'downsides' without negatively affecting profit since most of the people spending money at the bar were the more mature attendees anyway.

Went in for a quick drink with a friend I was visiting as we both used to work at a well established hotel in the area. Cleanliness, professionalism and attention to detail are still aspects of my working life, albeit a different trade, I now care for the most vulnerable in society and love everyday. WOW, this venue was not only catering for all of the above, it was run by the most beautifully, caring, funny and attentive family. In Stratford-upon-Avon, there is often a desire to please the tourists short term, this family made you feel special, as if it was your very own private party. We were lucky enough to spend most of the night, yes only popped in for a quick drink. There were a few lovely couples, a group from Italy and the staff who got everyone, including themselves, 100% involved in the night, ensuring everybody had a good time. The Italians loved the family feel and we all danced the night away. Got to say, next time I am in Stratford-upon-Avon this is top of my places to visit. If Shakespeare was alive, this would be his local. No fuss, just honest love and respect from the proprietors and their amazing family. Thank you for a great night.

Wow, this place is bad....i mean bad in every way. Came here with my wife for a drink....place was really packed. Ordered a Mojito....the sign said 2 for 1 cocktails and was immediately told that deal was off, so we just ordered the one. It turned up....no ice, no mint and no lime.....so essentially a warm rum and soda.....girl said they had none of the ingredients.....SO WHY OFFER IT!? I had a pint of cider.....again very warm and the lines had not been cleaned in a long time....it was sour and smelt like sulphur. Save your money, save your time and go elsewhere. Have you noticed that the owners don't reply to any customer reviews? That's because they have lost their passion and don't care.

Terrible service unclean outside areas and manager was inappropriate towards my wife making us both feel uncomfortable avoid

Popped in for a late drink, second visit. First time we came it was quiet and we chatted with one of the owners and felt welcome. Second time (last night) I'm not sure why but the bouncer shoved me 2 handed and I landed on my backside. He even admitted afterwards he got the wrong guy. This bouncer needs to ease off the steroids maybe? And why is the owner hiring him? I lived in Birmingham City Centre and went out a lot for 10 years and have never been set on by a bouncer like that before. So if you want a drink with your wife/fiance/girlfriend in peace you can't guarantee that at all in this place. I was humiliated and physically hurt very unexpectedly, to the point I'm considering contacting the police. I definitely won't go back.

Should have run when we were asked to pay on ordering. Ghastly coffee and a Luke warm coke served as a can plonked in front of you. No ice or glass.

Not a very good choice of beers TBH, young staff worked extremely hard in a busy pub, owner continually berated his young staff for no reason which made the atmosphere poor and uncomfortable to say the least. Advice is swerve this place. Manager needs communication lessons.

Went out for a few drinks with friends and first impressions was amazing lovely staff and female door staff this is great to see as don’t normally see this very often and they made us feel very welcome and got on great with the to female door staff having a good laugh with them and made us feel very relaxed. we was really enjoying ourselves until we seen how the owners speak to all members of staff and customers! These owners shouldn’t be dealing with the public and should leave there staff todo there jobs deal as they would probably find they would get a lot more business!!

The owner of this restaurant cares about no one and nothing other then herself. She was rude to countless other guests, barging into them, shouting and screaming and just all round being unpleasant. I ordered food but left it due to it being inedible. I then came back into the restaurant 10 minutes later asking to use the toilet and she shouted infount of the entire restaurant "I dont care if you piss yourself your not using our toilet " this was such an embarrassing, demoralising experience and I hope no one else has to feel this way .

Absolutely horrendous Poor service cold food I also heard the owner works at a COVID SITE STAY WELL AWAY

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Rude, unprofessional owner, terrible attitude! Stay away!!! Even said she didn't care when confronted!!!

What a great night out...hospitable welcoming staff couldn't have done more to ensure we had a good time. Friendly fun atmosphere. Felt like we were on our hols in our own town!! Thank you.

Sat outside for a drink with friends after dinner. They had been here before. When I came back from the toilet, the owner was sitting at the table and then asked about politics. It was at this point he started spouting racist views that I will not repeat here. We immediately left. My friends that have been previously were shocked and indicated they would not be going back either. Completely inappropriate way to treat customers at your place.

Great pub and the garden out the back is a suntrap.Great for a drink after visiting the market. Cash accepted which is a bonus

Been here before , the staff are excellent and friendly, the latte's we bought were tasty and there were outside seating for eating/drinking if prefered....! It was just the bathrooms that were to us a bit shocking.. I know staff can't check the cleanliness every...

Having heard the music coming from The Avon Lounge we wondered over to see what the bar was like it had a good atmosphere and we were met by a waitress who encouraged us to go in which we did she was very bubbly and...

Travelled from Birmingham with a plan to sample a few hostelries but we quickly settled here. Lovely staff. Nothing too much trouble. They made our day. Thank you all. You deserved that drink. We will be back soon!

Had a great couple of days visiting Avon Lounge. Pip and the staff are very friendly and make great cocktails. The best "beach bar" in Stratford. Will definitely return.

We stumbled across this place by accident but thoroughly enjoyed a drink there. Staff very friendly and a very different vibe is offered compared to other Stratford businesses.

Stopped by for cocktails one evening, and also coffee the following morning. Pip and the rest of the staff very welcoming and friendly, all worked hard to provide a great atmosphere. Prices very reasonable, given it's central Stratford. Will definitely be going again!

So good to see the independant Avon lounge back open. I met friends there for snacks & mid morning coffee. Great atmosphere, friendly staff & being local intend to go back often.

The service was attentive. Seemed like a husband and wife operation. Very attentive. Small downside, the garlic mussels were only a few.

As you would expect from any major tourist destination Stratford is packed with places to eat ranging from quick snacks, takeaways, cafes to restaurants of pretty much all standards and prices. The Avon Lounge is a little way off the centre but near the market...

Lovely little independent cafe with a good range of dishes available on the lunch menu. The salami, mozzarella and basil baguette was very tasty and the all day breakfast was very large and of good quality. Highly recommended.

Great Independent Coffee/Lunch/home made cake place best in Stratford by a mile. Totally reasonable, great vegetarian food. Fantastic vibe. Go for yourself and see

My children and I stopped by for breakfast today and it was a really tasty breakfast, well cooked. Will definitely be going again.

Popped in here for a quick coffee in our wanderings around Stratford. Great latte and flat white, not sure what the beans are but they had a good flavour. Took a slice of raspberry crumble to go with, which was delicious. Really enjoyable.

Found this really friendly local cafe by chance and loved it. Dropped in for coffee and (much needed) cake, then went back for snack lunch. Lovely welcome, good food at sensible prices (especially for Stratford), and no bull.

Very fine full English breakfast but it did take a time to be produced but it was well worth the wait. Four sausages, one fried egg. lots of mushroom, grilled tomato, two rashers of bacon, baked beans and toast. All washed down with a fine pot of tea.Will certainly revisit.

I was impressed with this cafe. I like how everything is new and this makes it a very clear and comfortable cafe to go to. I thought a vegetarian breakfast at £7.50 was a tiny bit expensive for a Warwickshire town, but it was definitely very good food. I also thought that the staff were well trained and fast. That is important in a cafe. I will definitely return.

This place is just great, there's a friendly welcoming atmosphere, a cheerful buzz, a bit of banter going on and some great down to earth food to boot. Everybody's spirits seem to be lifted as soon as they walk in the door. There's the market place right outside, and people wander in for something to eat or just a cuppa and a chat. Local people love it but everyone is made to feel very welcome, and in a touristy town it doesn't feel at all touristy. Lovely full English breakfast and a coffee for a tenner all in....what more could you wish for?

Me and the family were visiting Stratford for the first time, and we came across this lovely little place. We were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. As we were new to the area the team were happy to help us with the trip. Would recommend time and time again!

I visited The Avon lounge with a couple of my friends on a day out in Stratford .The decor is amazing so fresh looking with fantastic lighting.I had the poached egg avocado it was perfect,runny eggs nicely seasoned with lovely farm house brown bread and the best hot chocolate I’ve had in years.friendly staff great place will be back

Popped in with the family and tired of all the retail brands. This place is independent and food and service excellent. Thank you for making us feel special, we will be back.
