Very overpriced for the quality of food. Nice view of the airfield, but interior is old.

Lovely roast dinner and reasonably priced.

The staff are friendly, the food is wholesome homestyle cooking, the portions are large, the beer local and all at a good price. It overlooks the local airport and the interior is dedicated to planes of all types. If you fancy somewhere a bit different from the bog standard dull pub then give it a try!

Nice little pub next to the airfield. Although we were a tad late for brunch, they still accommodated us with some poached eggs on toast.

I've just visited with my wife. We thought we would drop in for a coffee etc. I'm afraid I was unimpressed and quite annoyed. We were ignored when we got there. My wife eventually got the attention of the waitress and we were waved in the direction of a table and after we brushed the crumbs off the chairs and table, we sat down. No menu, no interest from the staff...apart from laying tables for the next customers. We obviously caught them on an off day. We won't be back and we won't be recommending to others.

Very busy when we went , so service was a little slow. Food was pretty good.Full English Breakfast was excellent, bacon cob was a little dry. Great cider and a decent price. Will definitely return.

We booked the Aviator for Sunday lunch as my husband was having a flight experience at the airport. We had booked for mid-day but as the flight finished earlier than we thought we headed to the Aviator to see if we could get coffee. I explained politely that we were early, but the staff behind the counter were offhand and we were made to feel as if we were a nuisance. ordered the coffee which was just dumpd on the side of the bar by a member of the staff. we were told we could sit at one of the other tables until mid-day, which we did, and then ordered our food from the bar about ten to twelve. again the staff were not particularly helpful or welcoming. we could not fault the food, but the people bringing it out had no idea of the table numbers, which are written on a scrappy piece of paper on the tables. i realised that the young man was trying to bring us our lamb and roast beef so he did an about turn and spilt most of my gravy on the floor by the side of my table. it is such a shame as this is a lovely venue, the food was good, but the staff need some training in how to make customers feel welcome, and it would be a good idea to have the table numbers clearly marked so that the staff trying to bring the food to the table would know what they were doing.

Had a fantastic relaxed evening meal at the Aviator with my partner. The staff are lovely and very welcoming and the food is reasonably priced and very tasty plus massive portions.

Good quality food at a reasonable price. Thick bacon, butter bread/toast, quality eggs nothing to complain about and we go here regularly and not had a bad one yet.

Good location but unfortunately some of the staff need customer service training. Quite a frosty reception. Food ok but nothing to write home about. Watery mint sauce was interesting. There's a lot of stress from the people serving trying to find table numbers on a tiny bit of paper. Walking up and down shouting numbers.. Why not mark the numbers on the tables to make it easier on yourselves?

Only ever been for a cooked breakfast, but it's a regular haunt when my parents visit. Food is quick and decent. On a nice day its a great place to sit and watch the planes and helicopters too. Would highly recommend the fried breakfasts.

Great over all experience with fantastic tasting food, fast service and reasonably priced. Member of party had serious egg and nut allergies, the staff were helpful in checking all ingredients and relaying information back to us, along with showing us some of the ingredients and packaging to our minds at ease. Highly recommended and will certainly return again

Called in this afternoon for a impromptu meal with my daughter & 2 granddaughters in the sun watching the planes & helicopters land, this is a venue my late son loved sadly we don't' visit as often as we should and should because it evokes some great memories, we were lucky enough to catch both landlords Richard & Pat who gave us a wonderful welcome, the meal was as always so delicious with top quality food, I am always happy to recommend this venue...

Dropped in for an iced coffee, latte and a couple of ice creams. It’s a lovely spot for having a quiet drink or maybe something to eat, have previously had an English breakfast here also. On this occasion I was disappointed that the iced coffee and latte were served in mugs and the latte was about a quarter froth. Previously served in tall glasses which is what I expect or proper latte/ coffee cups. The service was a little slow as only one person taking orders and whilst waiting I couldn’t help but notice the volume of dust on all the model aircraft hanging from the ceiling throughout the eating area. Also, it took well over an hour to clear a table next to us even though food had been served to the next table, the person bringing the food out just ignored it and walked straight past. The negatives can easily be resolved a with a little more attention to detail so I’d still recommend the Aviator as a place to have a snack or drink whilst watching the small aircraft come and go.

Arrived at 10:59am Saturday Morning ordered 2 bits of toast for a 2.5 year old so he could eat it & watch the planes. Only to be refused by the lady looking thing behind the counter. It would appear popping two bits of toast in a toaster was too difficult for her.

Friendly service & great location if you want to see aeroplanes landing & taking off 😀

Piss poor service, food was overcooked, our table wasn’t ready, my son who's a picky eater didn’t finish his burger and the men who collected his plate commented on the matter which was incredibly rude and upset my son. Will not be returning.

Whilst at the airport for a flight sim experience my other half and I visited the pub. The food was great, good selection of drinks and fantastic service. Will definitely visit again when we are next in the area.

First time visiting this resturant and the atmosphere was really nice. Great food and views of the local airport with planes landing and taking off through out our visit. Staff really friendly and attentive. A+

Visited the Aviator this evening with friends, we had really warm friendly welcome from the staff. Nice glass of wine, the steak , gammon and the burger were all delicious! and very faily priced well worth the money. The pudding was huge!! Great view would definitely visit again!

Great place to sit outside with a beer, or inside with food. The Sunday lunch is a hit with anyone who tries it, and plentiful. The dining area is clean and laid out nicely, wheel chair friendly. And for the plane enthusiasts, you are at the end of the runways, so you can watch the planes, and helicopters come in to land and take off.

Great food and fantastic staff. Went for a Father’s Day meal. My son was a bit upset with a table not by the window as he wanted to watch the planes and although very busy they quickly moved us to a window table. Very friendly staff who were great with my son. So many so called family friendly restaurants are not friendly so it was great to see a proper old school family friendly team. Will definitely be going back and highly recommend the Aviator.

The pub has an extraordinary garden. The kids loved it, as the airport is very close and the helicopters and small airplanes are a delight. The pub is dog friendly. The food is decent, the cleaning is ok. The service is great.

Only quickly stopped here during a landaway on a lovely May day but the place is amazing; I'll have to come back to have food + stay for a couple of hours! If you're only slightly interested in (general + jet) aviation then this place is for you! The garden is situated on a slope, slightly above the airfield elevation, which means you get a very good view of the airport itself. And with Gloucester being quite a busy training airport, you should see planes take off + land in rapid fashion (even on not-so-ideal days)! What makes this location even better is the fact that it's located near the threshold of runway 27 - this is where the more "interesting looking" (bigger) planes will take off from or land (on instrument aporoaches + departures, depending on the wind direction), right next to you .

Went to toilet. a member male staff came out of cubicle and went out not washing he's hands.and when I came back in bar he was pouring a pint beer

The best pie I’ve ever had! What a lovely place. The food is fabulous. Huge portions, and so tasty. I can’t recommend the steak pie enough- the pastry was stunning and the meat so tasty. Proper home made food. It’s an interesting venue and watching the planes come in was fun. 10 out of 10.

Went for my mums birthday meal have to say food was amazing best roast in ages. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The chap who took our orders was happy and very entertaining, 5 stars all round. Keep up the excellent work 👏

An impromptu visit: mushroom soup with bread and butter on the 'specials' board. Absolutely superb! I would thoroughly recommend it if you see it on the board.

Popped in and enjoyed a good lunch and at a reasonable price too, not oh the staff….they are either lacking in any social graces or they are completely miserable!!! They barely speak, don’t smile or acknowledge you!!!

Not been to the Aviator for a few years and booked for a Sunday roast for family, they were very busy but the service was excellent, meal arrived so fast and was really plentiful & tasty nothing was any trouble. Top marks can highly recommend...

Great Roast lunch served hot and even though it was busy the wait was minimal, and after dinner we ordered a couple of puds for grand children and decided to go outside and they were served for us outside great service and very helpful staff....

Went on a Sunday without thinking about the Sunday lunch rush. They were very accommodating and friendly albeit very busy.

Sunday lunch was brilliant 👏 There was so much food it was excellent 👌 plus add the fact its dog friendly and they even gave my dog 🐕 a little of the off cuts . Staff amazing 👏 food brilliant value for money and an added view of the airfield.

Every table was full when we arrived today for lunch. The lady serving had a pop up table set up for us so we had somewhere to sit and eat, cannot thank her enough for fitting is in! Food was superb too. Always call in here when in the area and it's things like this that keep us coming back!

Awful place ! Man behind the bar acted like he did not want to be there .. My Latte was served in a chipped dirty mug, I gave it back and said I can not drink from a dirty chipped mug to which the lady replied OK, I was not even offered a replace ment drink! I will not be recommending them !!

I only had a pudding which was apple crumble if you can call it that, literally a bowl of microwaved apple with custard thrown over the top, the bar man was uninterested and seemed moody won't be returning

Had a family Sunday lunch which was excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Can't fault the food. Watching the the planes land and take-off kept our grandson entertained.

This was a very nice and tasteful trip and the food and yorkshires are very nice. They are simply amazing. You should come here on any occasion if it’s family, business, it’s amazing just come here for a quick drink. Also this pub is dog friendly! A lot of pubs aren’t which makes this pub stand out to the rest. Thank you for this experience and also a big thank you to the chef for the amazing food and pudding 😋 The Buxtons

We have been for both just a drink and Sunday lunch so far. You need to book for Sunday lunch but the food is gorgeous and if you make the effort to be friendly they are all lovely people. Definitely coming back, sorry guys your stuck with us Swindonites 🤣❤️

Attended as a group booking with people with a wide range of disabilities. This pub is not at all accessible. The toilets are upstairs or via an outdoor ramp. There is another ramp up and through the back door to the toilets, which is too steep for a wheelchair with a stabilising wheel at the rear to mount. There are no accessible toileting facilities available, which is illegal, and manoeuvring a chair down narrow cornered corridors to the toilets is next to impossible. This is a direct breach of the equality act 2010 and it’s disappointing to see discrimination of this kind in this day and age. Will definitely not be returning.

Great coffee, I only needed a light breakfast but the granary toast was excellent….really tidy and clean restaurant and facilities. My colleague had a breakfast nap which he said was one of the best. Well done to all your polite staff.

We visited with family today, all the staff were friendly and helpful. I have some food allergies and they were really accommodating and able to adapt a meal for me. We look forward to being able to visit again.

Had a pre Xmas breakfast and catch up with family. I had the most perfectly cooked poached eggs on toast and the rest had a variety of the full breakfasts available. Nothing left on plates!!

Had our annual family early Christmas lunch, did not disappoint as always. Food was amazing, stuffing was the best I've had in any restaurant. My recommendation is do not eat for 24 hrs prior as you won't need to eat for 24hrs after. Soo good I'm taking my mother-in-law.
