Would highly recommend The Auld Store staff are great and so was the service. My partner got the steak pie and he said it was the good he got another one. The carbonara was amazing aswell. Couldn’t have had a better experience.

Arrived Sunday 19th November for dinner to be told they had no chef and weren't serving food. Another couple arrived just after us, they had booked to previous weekend too, and the same thing happened. Locals sitting drinking at tables had a good laugh at our expense. Half hearted apology from women behind the bar. Don't go, you're wasting your time, and they couldn't care less.

Arrived for booking at 1pm today to be told there was no chef. Total joke - no phone call to tell us and no back up for not having a chef. Annoyed with myself for booking after a friend recently had the same experience. Such a shame as it was lovely when it first reopened, food was good. It has just went downhill since with the appearance of football tops and a pool table. The village is expanding but they clearly don't care and are not handing over any goodwill to potential new owners. We're done as are many others that we know.

Delicious food for a great price. Clean pub with cozy atmosphere. If you fancy bingo on Tuesday, this is the place to be.

Checked website for menu as said new. Only to find not available, staff Great. Food poor, chicken panoramic very dry, steak in steak pie and stroganoff inedible.

Great food, good choice and good value. Only issue was no babu changing. Was glad it wasn't busy so could change baby on the booth seats. Staff always friendly and helpful. So much so we went twice in a week 😊

Was here for dinner on a Saturday it was very busy, we were seated in the middle of the pub floor, lots of people squeezing past our table, rugby on the TV and overly loud music playing you couldn't hear yourself think, service was a bit slow food was ok I had lasagna it was bland no flavour to it

We had booked for a Sunday roast, sadly they weren't on offer when we visited. Our alternative choices were lovely though, the staff and locals were friendly and we enjoyed our visit.

7 of us for dinner this evening. The food was fantastic and everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal from starters to desserts. The staff and service were first class. We will be back. Thank you to the bar staff, waitress and chefs for making the evening outstanding. great to have somewhere like this to dine out right in the heart of our village.

steak pie looked like it came out of tin some of the meat was not cooked the mashed potato came out of a packet not impressed at all will try the place once more just in case it was a bad day

Great place for a meal with family

Was very busy for a Monday night, as there was an event on, we hadn't booked but they managed to get us a table. Very good and varied choice of menu, we had steak pie which was of good quality and quantity, meat was very tender and there was plenty of gravy. The firecracker chicken was also of very good quality and amount, it was very spicy but very tasty too, I opted for half rice and half chips, more than enough to soak up the spicy sweet and sour sauce. For pudding we had chocolate fudge cake and strawberries and ice-cream sundae, the cake was very light and portion size it was a slice and a half. However the sundae was massive, and very tasty, just what was needed to cool down after the firecracker chicken. We will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu, highly recommended.

Went with my wife for a meal here as we stay local the food was lovely apart from the puff pastry on my steak pie I don't know why places use the really flaky pastry but the rest of the meal was lovely will be back

I was looking forward to finally having a venue in the village where I could go with friends and family for a bite to eat. I have since been three times. The decor is nice, it is clean, the food is pretty good and very reasonably priced and the staff are friendly. What you’d expect from a village pub. However, if the owners hope to shake off it’s old spit and sawdust image and attract families and couples, they may have to up their game a bit. There are still too many groups, young and old, whose language leaves much to be desired. We have always been there around 6pm when I hoped it would be family friendly. I think the owner needs to be a bit more pro-active. If he is trying to attract a new clientele throughout the day and early evening he should be chatting to his customers and making his presence known. I have never once been asked by him if everything was ok or if our meal was good. I so hope The Auld Store is a success. A lot of money has been spent refurbishing it and it’s just what the village needs.

Not for families....yet. Great food, lovely staff, nice place BUT...there's still locals who were there (and no doubt frequented under the previous ownership) who were dropping in loud 'f' and 'c' bombs when there were children eating elsewhere in the restaurant. I heard them all from the opposite side of the room. Staff never mentioned anything to them which was disappointing. The Auld Store needs to decide what it is, a nice, family friendly place to eat and drink or simply the old place, with the old customers and a hell of a lot of effort to bring it to a great standard gone to waste. Please be the former.

Great little village pub with beer garden warm and friendly staff serving a great choice of lovely home made pub grub along with great beers.

We visited after hearing that the new caterer was formerly at Wishaw Golf Club so we knew the food would be good. They didn't disappoint. Tasty, good portions at a great price. What else can you ask for? The staff were all excellent, we were very well looked after and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Only issue we had was the crowd from a party in back room coming in to play the fruit machine and ask for drinks. During the current climate I'd turn the machine off and insist on customers remaining seated. We'll definitely be back and this will be our go to place for a pub meal, if we can get a table.

The Auld Store Bar is the best pub in Scotland, and I've been in most of them, Kenny is a great guy and he knows how to pull the best pint of 60 shilling ale, his welcome and a roaring coal fire what more could you ask for, first class.
