We'd a lovely family lunch at the Kirkton Inn - 16 adults and an 18 month old. Gemma has recently taken over the Kirkton and could not have been more welcoming. Food was excellent and very good value for money. Well worth a try.

On all occasions when we have gone the food has been excellent with a good variety and all home cooked with a friendly service from staff and very helpful. Highly recommend it

Nice place, what we had was good. I think it would benefit from having some lighter options, like sandwiches, or filled rolls for people not wanting a meal

I have just returned home after having lunch at the Kirkton Inn. Another local business owner guided us there and said it had been opened by a young couple and was a great place to go. As we enjoy finding local places that are not part of a faceless chain, we decided to give it a try. Husband ordered the chicken burger which he said was lovely. He also complimented the fries. I ordered the chicken breast withash and pepper sauce. Sadly, I was provided with a chicken breast that looked like it had done three rounds in the boxing ring with mike Tyson. I had to cut off the chewy bits that were left on it, but the knife I was given, was useless. It could not cut through the chicken. I had to tear it. The pepper sauce was not like any pepper sauce I have ever had before. It wasore like a gravy and it had been poured all over the plate....... drowning the carrots and peas. Anyway, once we had eaten our main course, we thought we could maybe have some better luck with desserts, however after waiting half an hour for someone to come to our table .....we ended up having to disturb a member of staff who was sitting at a table beside the bar having her lunch and asked her for the bill. It was only when she delivered the bill that she asked how the food was......nobody had checked on us before that. We would likely have bought another couple of drinks and a couple of desserts if we had had decent service..... Sadly, I won't be back to this establishment.

Lovely place. Finally got to try it out and will definitely be back. Food was lovely. We asked for vegan option and were brought a list straight away. Great service

We had a great meal here yesterday Cumberland ring with mash and veg was excellent marked you down 1 because you didn't have any draught apple cider but overall very good.

Great wee pub, keenly priced pub grub. Carvery is excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

A lot better since its recent takeover. Haven't tried the food yet but it looks very nice. Decent beers and the owners always try to accommodate you when it's busy.

First time having a meal in the Kirkton Inn since the new owners took over. Food was delicious, I had the yummy macaroni. Food is very reasonably priced, decor is modern and airy. Staff very friendly. Plenty of tables as well . Great food and great prices, just what Carluke needs .

Went to the recently refurbished Kirkton Inn for lunch for Mother’s Day. The food was great and the staff are lovely and welcoming.

No draught beer on tap that I could see, but plenty of cider and lager to choose from.

Yes good but I got turned away after two doubles cos the locals took over and did not care at all just a local pub don't try 🤪

🤢 Food was cold Starter was good apart from the nachos being cold chilli was warm Main course steak pie, gravy was watery, no flavour, top of stew was cold and the gravy was warm, puff pastry had been made this morning and not even reheated, chips were cold, portion size was for a child, dishes were very cold, just came out of the microwave but the veg was piping hot. Arrogant little children in charge of this establishment And a chef that only knows how to use a microwave And the owner can only say well no one else had a problem 😂 SHOCKING If your looking for somewhere that just serves a microwave meal and don’t care about standards then this is the place for you. Tables were falling apart Screws sticking out from underneath the table, it was splitting in the middle. Underneath the table was something sticky so hadn’t been cleaned. Tiles on the floor missing and someone tripped over it when they were on their way to their seat, death trap

Turned up after getting the last train home from Glasgow and had a few drinks fantastic wee bar, staff were amazing and punters were of varied age and very welcoming, door staff very friendly will definetly be back. Music could be amazing upstairs for a Proper Carluke massive night out arrange a banging gbx original DJ’s night out as soon as allowed. Ps message me and I can arrange the gbx bod to put a night on HWG! 🙌🏻

Have been several times for meals and drinks since the new owners & management took over last year. Staff are lovely with the customers, always had great service, nothing is too much trouble. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. Always had a fabulous meal, cannot fault the quality and value for money. The Manager/Owner Chris welcomes any feedback and quickly sorts out any concerns. Also he is happy to hear our requests, eg- for good quality wines, which he sorted out and then duely improved the wine selection. Huge selection of quality spirits and beers too. They are really working hard to make the business a success, not just for themselves, but for the Customers from Carluke and afar who appreciate a Great wee local pub. As I follow them on Facebook, I get frequent updates of their themed nights and what's on different nights. Oh and it's a dog friendly pub too!! What's not to love? Top marks from me! Keep up the great work guys!

Went for dinner on 7/2/20 ordered fish and chips fish was massive but cold in middle when I complained was basically called a liar and charged 8.95 for the privelage absolute disgrace

The best thing about this place was the bar maid, portion was to small for the price ,steak pie where do i start, meat could have done with an extra 20mins cooking time, gravy was salty if you can call it that pulled pork tasty ,must be out a packet and portion yet again to small, only getting two for the bar maid..

Carluke is crying out for a decent pub restaurant and we decided to try the latest incarnation of the kirkton after reading good reports on Facebook.

Excellent meal in this place , few beers and a nice area out back to sit in the sun , special nights for everyone

The Kirkton inn is open again for who knows how long. Very quiet tonight but can't fault the prices. 4 drinks and change from a tenner. What's not to like about that? Check it out as it deserves to be a bit busier!

Ordered nachos and without sounding cruel I wouldn’t feed my dogs it. I firstly ordered the plain nachos but when I got them I could see oil seeping out of the site- on closer inspection I could see the bowl filled with what I assumed was there “chilli” The homemade tortilla chips chips were disgusting- if your going to fry your own chips, the oil needs to be hot enough so that the chips don’t soak every drop of oil in the pan and once cooked they need to be drained properly. Also the Mac n Cheese we ordered cake with raw garlic bread and to make matters worse no one could figure out how to get the card machine to work

The place was filthy, stains on the menu and carpet, the chef had to leave to get canned peas and they were served cold.

Has drastically gone down hill. Staff extremely rude, lager looked like a pint of flat irn bru

Went with the family on xmas eve wasn't that busy but was short staffed at the time we arrived. More staff arrived but nobody seemed to know what they were doing bar service was shocking and manners of some staff was terrible.

Food was excellent, coffee was strong and delicious, service was with a smile and extremely courteous, would go back again. Great value for money

This was a pre-meal stop off for a couple of hours and was great fun. A great atmosphere and the team who work behind the bar were great fun.

We hired upstairs for a party, came with a bar, dance floor, good space and a dj. the staff were very helpful and friendly, drinks were cheap and had some great special offers

Foods Great - but it is a pub so has a pub atmosphere which is fair enough. However, cheap, cheap, great value for money. Good sized portions, and good price - not for business lunch if trying to impress new customer, but great for secure customers.

My husband and I went to The Kirkton inn on Sunday we got 2 roast beef dinners for £10.00 which was okay although quite a small portion, My husband went to the bar and got me a small lager/lime he was charged 65 pence for a dash of lime an utter. disgrace

Went here for a family meal after a day of shopping my fiancee had been a while back and said it was lovely so was looking forward to it but it didn't live up to expectations basically it was bang average my burger was ok but a bit crumbly the kids meal was ok my fiancee said her lasagne wasn't as nice as the last time she was here and it was served on one of the wooden tray things but we prefer our food served on plates like normal people do especially stuff like lasagne so won't be rushing back here anytime soon

My favourite place to go, quiet at the right times and busy on the expected times, great service and atmosphere, unlikely to encounter a bad crowd in here if you go. Family friendly environment up until food has stopped being served for the day. A garden out the back for smoking or also for enjoying the sun if you want to order food out here (although keep in mind that this is the only place people have to go and smoke so you will have to deal with the smell of smoke rather than judge them for going to the only place they can smoke). Good selection of drinks but lately have become pricey, there isn't really any excuse for a small town pub to have more expensive drinks than Glasgow or Edinburgh, this is true for every drink I have bought over the past half year in this pub, so spend wisely.

The atmosphere is quite good and drink are reasonably priced. The place needs updating and more seats as there is hardly any room to move on a Saturday night.

Had sizzling steak fajitas (chef's special) and they were delicious 😋😋 also the bar staff were really good and very friendly (in particular Danielle). The place was reasonably busy so service was quick considering and we didn't have to wait for either the meal being served nor being served at the bar. All in all, a reasonably priced dinner, served by nice people and having EM as company made it a pleasant and enjoyable evening. Steve the chef has also to be mentioned for his tremendous effort and to his kitchen staff - so well done guys and gal!! 😀😀😀

Unfortunately the care taken cutting the chips was not matched by the care taken cooking them. They were decidedly very brown and soggy. When this was brought to the attention of a member of staff, another plate was provided to place the "hand cut chips" upon. Nothing was done apart from this to remedy the complaint. No replacement "hand cut chips"; no financial consideration when paying the bill. Simple. Won't be back.

Visited friend in Carluke, and decided to try here.The place was quite quiet for a Saturday lunch time.2 of us had macaroni cheese. Other then be had steak pie. Food was piping hot, freshly made, and very reasonably priced. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.Would visit again.

Garlic prawns! AVOID I have been so ill through the night. After reading on line how to cook prawns - these were most definitely not cooked - they were grey in colour and although warmed through, RAW. Tis no wonder I am ill. Vomiting, sweats, chills and the rest!

Was a regular for over 20 years till new guy came in he just wants the young ones in 79p Jaeger come on . Drug taking in toilet . DJ out is nut every weekend . Under agers. The way they treat there staff is beyond a joke. No wonder the full towns talking Stay well away ppl

Not long moved to Carluke and decided to try this place as it is within walking distance. Visited with my partner and toddler daughter and was given a high chair which was clean enough. The place is quite small inside but wasn't tgat busy when we went in (on a Thursday) so got a table without any problems. There was a good choice of food on the menu to suit all tastes. Food was tasty and freshly made, no complaints there except my partner asked for mash with his steak pie and was given chips instead. Staff were friendly and welcoming and took orders quickly. Would return again for another meal.

We regularly attend the Wednesday night pub quiz, which is a really good laugh, & we're lucky enough to win a £20 food:drink voucher. We popped in for lunch & were incredibly impressed by the quality, quantity & taste of the food. You should definitely give it a go!!!

Been in three times for food and drink since it went into new management. First couple of times food was excellent with big portions. Also drink prices have been reduced.Sadly this lunch time although the food was still tasty the portion size was small with barely two chunks of steak in the steak pie and much fewer chips.Informed the waitress who said she would tell the chef.....end of?Also heard waitresses talking about how busy it was when the place was half empty.Advice to manager if your food is not consistent and you don't address complaints the staff won't need to worry about being busy as customers will go elsewhere.

Have frequented the Kirkton for many years, however, this was the first time since the new management took over. As a white wine drinker I expected the usual choice but was told they only had Pino Gricio. No other choices. I bought it and regretted it as it was tasteless. My partner asked for a Merlot and they didn't have any they had a Shiraz but only enough for one glass. Unacceptable on a Saturday night given the amount of wine drinkers these days. They need to sort this out. The Kirkton used to have a great choice of wines. Staff were really nice as usual.

My friends and I went for dinner and drink last night. The food was really nice, big portion sizes and served pretty quickly. We had a few cocktails off the menu, all prepared there and then and were so tasty, especially the strawberry daiquiri! The staff were friendly, especially the bouncer who came and spoke to us later in the night. Really good evening!

We have frequented the Kirkton for years and it's usually a lovely friendly environment with great bar staff! However last night we went for a couple drinks to be subjected to some completely inappropriate behaviour by one of the bouncing staff. We were enjoying our drinks chatting when at first the bouncer kept staring in the Window at us and making rude gestures we laughed it off as "just q bit of banter" however then the bouncer became downright rude and inappropriate, he made comments about my chest, he made rude gay jokes, he slapped my friends bottom, in the end we made a complaint and left all absolutely furious about our treatment!

2 meals for £9.99 on a board outside drew us in but as has been taken over and closing for refurbishment choices were limited. Steak pie and macaroni cheese were ok though.

2 meals for £10 so was not expecting much, the food was really nice and we were pleasantly surprised. Really could not fault meal. The older lady who served us was extremely pleasant and really made us feel welcome, which is rare to find these days. Fresh décor as well. Would most certainly return again. Thanks for a real nice afternoon.

Dropped in for a Bar Lunch on a Bank Holiday, place was busy but only one staff member service Bar and Waitressing.Picked a table in the side room away from the bar. Ordered drinks and food at the bar, people at the bar are overlooking a number of the tables not something I prefer.The food arrived quickly and was piping hot, very tasty and reasonably priced.Place is a bit tired and in need of a face lift. However it cannot be faulted for it food or friendly staff.Not the first place I would rush to but having tried to find Restaurants locally which were open on a Bank Holiday and were serving food after 2.00pm our choices were restricted.Enjoyed what we got at The Kirkton.

A very average pub with very average food - nothing to write home about. I won't be back here again sadly.

been in the Kirkton a few times , usually when visiting my dad , pleasant enough , good pleasant staff , they do food , only had a snack which was pretty good , lager nice and cold , watched the footie , [ we lost ] they have a function room upstairs , though ive never been in it

Visited saturday night for the first time food wise and have to say that the quality was fantastic for the price. All four had the surf and turf which came with nice piece of steak, scampi and chips with veg. Amount on the plate was huge for under £10 and will certainly be back. Drink prices very good as well.Doesnt look anything special from outside but dont let that put you off for quality pub grub.

Not grand from outside but don't be put off.The bar is large and quiet smart, mixture of young, older and femail customers.

Well we didn't have our best meal of our trip here, the food is average, but the staff more than made up for it. The staff were so incredibly helpful and friendly, using their own phones to help us figure out the trains to Edinburgh. Free wifi is available. Very reasonably priced menu. We felt at home and very welcome. Would definitely be a place we would go back to if we were there again for a few drinks.

Visited with my other half and mother in law the other day and we were quite shocked at the attitude of the barman. We've visited on other occasions and the service has always been warm and inviting but clearly not on the day we visited

This is a nice pub that serves very decent bar meals at reasonable prices. Good service also and a friendly proprietor.

Been here a few times never a bad word to say tried the haggis cannelloni last time was impressed big portions low prices.

We ate at this cozy pub twice during our stay. The BBQ ribs were fabulous!! The bar maid was so gracious to give us each a separate check (4 of us). Soccer matches were on the 'tellys' and the young men there were so kind to us older ladies.

Best meal we had in Scotland during our recent trip. Nothing fancy, but very delicious chicken tiki marsala for my wife, and a very spicy beef chili with rice for myself. Like every other meal in Scotland, meal was delivired piping hot. (Not always a sure thing in the USA, even in finer restaurants.)

After hearing excellent reviews about The Kirkton we decided to try it for a family celebration! Food was excellent and portion sizes were huge! Far cheaper than a wetherspoons but much better quality fresh food! Even my fussy 5 year old enjoyed her meal! You can reserve a table and children are welcome! Staff were all very friendly and received a nice greeting from Richard the man in charge! As someone who has never been before we were made to feel very welcome. I will certainly be going again! highly recommend!

This is a local pub which I believe has been recently refurbished. The menu offers some tasty delights with great value for money, in particular the macaroni cheese is amazing!Drinks are reasonable and a great atmosphere, mainly down to the staff - Richard is amazing and very welcoming to all. I would definitely recommend and always make a pitt stop when in Carluke.
