Radstone Hotel in South Lanarkshire

We dined at the Opal Restaurant and were very impressed with the food. The service was friendly, though a little slow, perhaps due to being slightly understaffed. The main issue was the bar service, which was extremely slow. It was busy when we arrived, and we faced a significant wait to be served, with no available seating while we waited for our table. Although the restaurant service was excellent, the slow bar meant I had to wait a considerable time for a drink, even after prompting other staff members, which unfortunately impacted my enjoyment of the main course with no drink. Despite this, the food was delicious, and the views were lovely. We would definitely return. The meal cost around £80 for three courses for two people, with drinks costing approximately £15 for a pint and a glass of wine.

We attended for an afternoon tea and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We mentioned it was for a special birthday and they brought a dessert slate out with a written message. Couldn't do enough for us, especially Lorraine. Fantastic team in restaurant!

Fabulous hotel we beautiful views , from the minute you step in till you leave amazing staff !!! Gorgeous room we stayed in a couple of different rooms all to a high standard everything you need in the rooms ,, brilliant night's sleep so peaceful, food at breakfast so yummy , we also have had evening meal & cocktails such a variety on menu and so delicious,,,easy to park plenty of spaces ,,, We come up from the Midlands every year to visit our family that live close ,,, staff are so warm & very friendly help with anything you need you sould be very proud of your staff & hotel highly recommend and we definitely be back love The Radstone hotel thank you for always making us very welcome xx

Just had our Christmas party night. Staff were amazing. Could have done with more people on the bar or table service. Meal was lovely and more this year than the last couple of years. I was full after my 3 courses. Some people at my tsnle coudnt finish theirs. Band wete good, awesome DJ. The jugs of cocktails and buckets of beer was a life changer, saved habing to go back to the bar all the time. We only needed 2 rounds. There were 8 of us and the round was just over £100. Most nights out are really expensive. Just a shame the rooms were all booked out when we booked. Mibby be an idea to partner up with a nearby hotel and put a bus on?

I had a superb one night stay at Radstone. Thank you to Rory, who welcomed me, Callum, an excellent Night Porter, who obliged my 4:30am chat and John, on Reception who also was extremely accommodating. I appreciate the no nonsense ethics, of the staff who deal so expertly with all who walk through their doors A no abuse policy is the way to go... You are all superstars! Great rooms, great dinner, great breakfast. What more could a gal in business ask for? Well done!!! 10 stars...

First time attending for my mum's 80th birthday and booked Opal restaurant. Beautiful location, gardens, lobby, bar, restaurant and the food was perfect. Hot and I mean hot to the table, presentation amazing and really enjoyed it. Done up for Christmas and it's beautiful. I'll be back

I've not stayed here, so the rooms I'll get to later but if they are as good as the rest it'll be fine. This hotel is proper tucked away, I just popped by for a swifty drink on my way passed. And I've been back four times now with Wiffy for food and drinks. Service is pretty good. The food is spot on for the prices . It appears to be as equally prepared for couples and corporate guests. The menu is constantly changing, and they hold a very wide range of special deals and seasonal events/entertainment . You'll also be among an eclectic clientele from work wear, suits, bests, and weddings. It's all good you'll enjoy it.

Stopped in for lunch..Nice ambiance. Food was excellent and reasonably priced for the quality. Vegetables were the best I've had.

I was only here for a meal in the restaurant. It was a lovely meal, served by attentive and pleasant staff. Never been disappointed at the Radstone any time I've visited.

I can honestly not fault this hotel we stayed two nights for my daughter’s wedding in the topaz suite from arriving to leaving everything was spot on . The food and service was amazing a special mention to Lorraine for making our pre wedding meal special and Katlyn and staff for every thing during the wedding rooms are clean modern and cater for family’s with kids breakfast was lovely I will definately be back

Great food, reasonably priced, great and friendly staff, quick service

Stayed in a few suites in different rad hotels - they are all stunning! Food is always great and staff are always helpful and friendly.

Food not the issue here, slow service is the problem. I take elderly relatives 4 or 5 times a year and its always the same. 45 minutes after arrival before food arrived. Then asked for a coffee, 10 mins later asked again, 5mins later cancelled the request and asked for the bill. The restaurant was about 20 % full therefore its either short staffed or poor training.

I was hired to perform Caricatures at a wedding on Saturday night and the place was stunning. Lovely grounds and plenty of parking close to the main reception. I arrived as the main meal was finishing and the food smelled awesome. The staff were attentive and friendly at the bar and I had got set up in the lounge area which had nice comfy seats. Al in all a lovely venue for a wedding and I would definitely recommend.

There is truly nothing I can fault this hotel about. My room was just right and the bed was the height of comfort. The food was plentiful and of a high quality. However, the best thing for me was the staff. They all worked very hard, were professional and everything was done with a smile. A huge well done and thank you from me!

Stayed 11th October 24 for tribute night. 2 double rooms, evening meal,tribute,b&b. Rod Stewart was horrendous, DIDN'T sound anything like him. Thankfully he wasn't on long. TINA Turner was even worse.OMG. the Dj in-between was alot better. We had a security guy standing the whole time watching , very strange. The food took ages to be served. Soup was lovely, then chicken, 2 small potatoes, cpl bits veg & potatoes round. Not alot for a main meal. Pudding was one cake with cream & half a strawberry. Cake wasn't very nice. The room was lovely, the shower had a will of its own. Got it on, then cldnt get it off.

Stayed here for the first time for a work night out, Excellent location right next to the motorway junction which was very handy after a busy day driving and for a early get away the next day Room was very clean and bed very comfortable The only bad point I would have is that breakfast isn't until after 7am

Stopped here for a night and fabulous hotel the decor is to a high standard everywhere. Really comfy rooms. We had a meal at the restaurant and it was fabulous My only massive downfall was the walls are so thin in between the rooms I could hear everything from the room next door ie opening a canned drink and there are certain things nobody wants to hear from the room next door when trying to sleep. Please get some soundproofing sorted asap

Dinner, bed, and breakfast for GBP 112 in late September. You can't beat it. Staff are friendly, food is fine, rooms are lovely. I always stay here to break up my trip between the South Coast of England and NW Scotland.

We attend a wedding on a Sunday but also stayed on the Saturday night. Attentive service, excellent food and an excellent venue.

Just stopped off here to charge the car and they were very happy to make us some coffee and serve cakes! It looks very plush, but I don't have any personal experience. However, as a place for charging the car, it's great - friendly, welcoming, good drinks and not too expensive.

I would normally give the Radstone top marks, but my stay 04/09/2024 was not good. No gas... This meant no hot water, so no shower, a shave with kettle water, I go camping I can cope with that. It was the "we have no kitchens," so no food, not even a sandwich, as they had no hot water. The food is always the best here, I was starving and was told this at 8pm, no food. This ruined my stay. No back up what so ever. No electric boiler for a workaround. I love the Radstone, but this visit did not cut it. I'm very disappointed. Plus, a cigarette burn in the bath. WHAT!! and the plug that looks like a buscuit and the sink plug that I had to seal with toilet roll. Not forgetting, there was a massive gap in my room door frame that goes into the hallway, and the new plug sockets are fitted too close to the worktops, so your charger leads are bent double. Let's finish on a positive... The new carpark looks very nice with the new charging bays. I'll be back because the food is so good, hopefully, when they have paid the gas bill.

Went for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my sister's birthday! They accommodated all our dietary requirements, provided unlimited tea and coffee and a wonderful selection of sandwiches, cakes etc as well as lovely little tea cups of a delicious soup! Fantastic service and lovely food! We wound up taking the leftovers home in doggie bags. Thank you for a lovely afternoon xx

Meals nothing special sent 1 back never was asked if something else could be ordred certainly was taken off bill. Wouldn't recommend

The hotel was very clean. Wasn't impressed with the restaurant, as we we're given a table right under the air conditioning system and asked the waitress, if we could have an other table. She went and asked the restaurant manager for us. She came back and said that the only tables they had were in the bar. I noticed that there was other tables available in the restaurant. We had our meal and when we left the tables were still available. John the restaurant manager needs to go back to school to work on his approach as he just put down the menus and walked away from us. The waitresses were very good and polite.

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my friend. We each had a little cup of homemade tomato soup (delicious) sandwiches, scones and cakes. The service was excellent and the servers pleasant and helpful. I would definitely go back.

We spent 27thJuly till 28th July which was an overnight stay, B&B and Dinner for my Husbands 90th Birthday.

Room ok, nothing special. Breakfast and manager appalling, rude service. On arrival at breakfast, I had to wait for 15 minutes to be shown to a table, sat down to be asked if I wanted coffee - if so, it would be another 15 minutes as there was only two people serving. I sat there and then waited for my food order to be taken, the breakfast buffet was empty as the two staff couldn’t restock in time. I left without eating and went to reception where I informed the manager who said there was nothing that can be done to compensate as it was within my room rate. I informed him that he should go and help his team to which I was told I have too much admin to do. No other offer just head down and continued to ignore me from there onwards. Having been the first time I stayed there this will certainly be the last, I’d suggest finding yourself a new manager.

Very disappointed in our dining experience at Opal Restaurant within Radstone Hotel. 4 adults and 4 kids (8-11). Food was very good but the service was terrible. Server had to come back and ask again for main meals, when bringing to table she almost knocked over a glass of water which a kid managed to save (no apology). We asked, after finishing our starters c30 mins earlier, when our main courses would be ready and were told 'just coming', 10 mins later asked again and told 'just coming'! Eventually 7 meals were brought to the table and after a couple of minutes we asked when the last meal would be brought out (we like to eat together!) and got the 'just coming'. After asking for condiments which were brought with no apology, we decided to start our meals and some had almost finished before the 8th meal was brought out (no apology). Chose not to order desserts and went to Equi Ice Cream instead. There was no interaction with the servers, very cold and indifferent, and I appreciate they may be busy, but efficiency and explanations are a time saver and go a long way to satisfied customers! We were not satisfied with the service we received in celebration of a 76th birthday event.

As a wheelchair user I was assured a room that would meet my requirements to apologize for our wedding night stay. The room had a bathroom with no aids, nothing to assist me when taking a shower or using the toilet. The management tried their best with very limited resources which would allow me to take an assisted shower but no change to the toilet, thus still embarrassing for me. The jacuzzi looked good but when activated blew out black organic matter along with the water, we decided that it would not be used at all. The lunch was ok, a light bite of pate and oatcakes although their ratio of pate to oatcakes was a bit off. Their dinner, my husband took the steak which he was pleased with and I had the battered fish which was a mistake. The batter was soggy, the fish was greasy and it had to be returned. I was offered something else but I was sickened and decided not to bother. This hotel does not cater for disabilities if you have one do not book. We cut our stay short, went home after first night. This hotel not only ruined our wedding night but also our first anniversary. I will not be giving you a chance to ruin anything else

I was delighted to discover this lovely clean hotel with modern bedrooms that had good views, friendly staff and delicious food at a reasonable price. I am looking forward to going back.

While I cannot speak for the rooms, if you have food allergies do not go to the restaurant! When asking what I could have a a celiac I was told sandwiches could be made with Gluten-Free bread, however when I was given my food and had started to eat it some employees came over and grabbed my food saying it had been made with regular bread. My mum (also celiac) had a salad that we were told was also gluten free however it was severed with croutons which the staff hadn’t realised she was allergic to. We made sure to pass the feedback with the hope that there is an improvement.

Great wedding venue, attended a all day wedding, well presented and everything ran like a well oiled machine ,lovely rooms we were lucky we had a beautiful view of the countryside, would recommend for weddings...

Great find when charging a Tesla. Decided to stay the night when heading back north. Great dinner and breakfast, plus staff were all very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the bedroom walls seemed very thin.

Excellent short stay on way travelling north. Plenty of things to see within 1hr of hotel eg Falkirk wheel and Kelpies. Excellent staff in all areas. Hotel clean ,modern and good value for money. Afternoon tea was especially good.

Went for a wedding. Loved the grounds. Modern hotel nice n clean. Just off the motorway. Went in today for lunch, enjoyed the fish n chips and the cappuccino. Was a lovely day enjoyed the little stroll around the grounds.

I was there on a bus outing and stayed fir a meal with 20 others. Excellent food and service and surroundings. Will be back.

Spectacular hotel, service excellent 👌, friendly and cheerful hardworking staff, lots of events on but everyone looked after. Evening dinner last night was superb, and breakfast this morning. Clean rooms, an excellent night's sleep and stunning scenery. I would certainly recommend to anyone on a journey further into to Scotland x ❤️

Having stayed here many times before I chose here for one of the tribute nights and wasn’t disappointed. It is well worth the money. We stayed overnight too, had 3 rooms, the superior twin rooms are lovely, can’t fault them only the unusual smell from both rooms on checkin. The larger room just needs a little bit of maintenance and this is the room I stay in each time I am there. The tribute night was great only suggestion maybe more than one dessert choice or some people are only having a 2 course and paying for 3. I will still stay at this hotel as I have had loads of lovely memories throughout the years x

Staff are very friendly efficient and helpful. The room was luxurious loved the decor. Loved relaxing in the sitting area. Bed and pillows amazing giving a great night's sleep. Love the bathroom, shower, and a jacuzzi bath, to relax in. Can't wait to visit any of the Rad group hotels again.

Didn't stay over, visited for a meal. The restaurant was cold, I had to sit in my jacket. Food was OK, the cocktails were good though. Baby change was out of use so I had to change my 6month old on the floor, wasn't ideal.

went for a light lunch, soup and sandwich. soup was delicious, sandwich was awful, dry/stale bread and tastleless coleslaw. great waitress, but if theres a next time, only gettin the soup is cauliflower and cheese

31.12.2022. Just been to the hogmanay ball. And well, it was AMAZING. Very well organised, 5 course meal was fantastic. Brilliant night. Just been again, this time for my birthday, and I wasn't disappointed. And again, for our wedding anniversary. FAB-U-LOUS!!! 31.12.2023. Back again for the hogmanay ball. Great night, danced our feet off. Lovely meal again 02.03.2024 Date night, fab as always

Lovely comfortable room, bed and pillows. We appreciated the thoughtful surprise to upgrade our room on arrival, thank you! Only thing missing for us was bathrobes as we don't travel with them. Sadly these aren't available at this location. Traffic noise from motorway was a little disturbing during the night but our stay was excellent!

Had afternoon tea here. Everything was lovely and well presented. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The hotel is really nicely decorated and feels quite up-market. Would recommend.

We visited on Xmas eve for a family lunch and the staff were lovely and attentive and the restaurant was very festive with lovely surroundings. Our party of 7 had the only menu that was on which was a set 2 or 3 course choice. The majority of the guests loved all the food but as a vegetarian the choices are terrible. Starters were vegetable tempura or creamy mushrooms on a croissant - the mushrooms were nice albeit a bit cold. The only choice on the main menu for a vegetarian is tomato pasta - the most basic dish you can get. The sauce was bitter and watery and the garlic bread was not toasted on one side. There was no cheese on it so it was bland. In a world where there are a huge number of vegetarians and every main meal on that menu could be adapted for a vegetarian for example a Turkey Xmas dinner can be swapped for a veg tart with all the trimmings instead I had 2 bites of awful pasta. The staff were lovely and asked if I wanted it changed but I declined as what would it be changed too?! There were no other choices…. Then came desert where I opted for a cheese plate - out came 3 x crackers, 4 x grapes and a spoon of chutney with two bits of cheese. Come on radstone - do better!! The lemon meringue pie came without ice cream despite it being on the menu! all these details make a difference. Add in it was £32.50 a head I expected better. The main meals for the rest of the party looked nice and this is the second year we have been on Xmas eve but I don’t think we will be back to be honest. For a restaurant and hotel chain as big I would expect more

Visit often for coffee and all well. Write a recent review having had a lovely dinner with friends: staff were brilliant. Recent two visits with friends for coffee were such a disappointment. First visit - two wee Girls who were less than welcoming or helpful. Coffee was luke warm - poor response. Second visit - reported the rude service to reception. The bar was busy but, when I asked about our drinks, the young lady didn't even raise her head when speaking. I questioned her attitude and she refused to give her name. All I was looking for was a little courtesy which was clearly too much to ask for. So disappointing.

We booked a meal for a few couples as we'd previously had good service here. However, after being served our drinks; about 30 minutes after that, one of the guests had to call on a waiter to take our food order. Although the meal was nice, the evening was a bit spoiled with the poor service. A cocktail was ordered, and it just came in an ordinary glass with no extra thought to adding a strawberry or similar decoration, as usually happens in other eateries. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for our friends who came from South America to sample such poor service. Not the service we expected after previous visits - what's happening here?

Overnight dinner b&b stay with 3 friends. Stunning reception area most welcoming. Friendly helpful staff beautiful rooms with a fab shower. Dinner and breakfast was superb. Excellent in every way, cannot wait to return.

We were here for a tribute night. All packed in and took barely move my chair back. The veggie options were soup, stuffed pepper with risotto and sticky toffee pudding. £35 dinner should consider of something of a higher standard. A pepper filled with rice is so unimaginative. Also the servers asked me about 15 times if I wanted chicken when they passed me. It’s not that difficult to remember 2 vegetarians at one table. Poor dinner and poor service, would not return.

Given 1 star as staff nice, band good, decorated ok. Meal diabolical, tiny portions, Luke warm and tasteless. Ridiculous queues for bar, price of drinks extortionate & I swear they are heavily watered down. I’m a light drinker & for the volume I had & on an empty stomach, I should have been carried out of there but instead I felt as though I could have driven home! Wish I had taken the car & drank water all night! Actually wish I hadn’t gone!

Just had a lovely wee DBB at Radstone Hotel. Our room was gorgeous with a huge comfy bed & wide screen tv. Also an immaculate bathroom with great shower. Staff were so welcoming. A special mention for John gen manager & Fraser at check in. Both the food and the service at dinner were excellent. Wine was well chilled and meal piping hot. We were so well looked after by our server Rachel. Portions were very generous so sadly couldn’t manage a pudding! To top it off the barman made us a great after dinner Irish coffee which we had whilst relaxing in the cosy lounge area. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed overnight on 27th August 2022, and were upgraded to the Azure suite, due to previous stay that had a “ boisterous” wedding party staying causing noise throughout the whole night. The hotel handle the issues very efficiently and professionally for situation out with their control. The Radstone went above and beyond to remedy the issue and obviously value customer satisfaction very highly. The room was superb with plenty of space to relax, dinner was excellent with Dylan looking after us throughout although he was also busy with several large dining groups, he does it all effortlessly. Also special mention to young Faith at the bar who was learning to pull her first few pints and although a bit nervous to start with she done a good job so well done An excellent hotel for a enjoyable night away

Just arrived at Larkhall Radstone Hotel. Walked into upgraded room Wow!!! What a difference . Room amazing can’t believe change. Have stayed several times. Can’t believe the difference. We’ll done Rad. Amazing shall definitely book to come back
