Family got meal deal for a tenner was good value for money. My curry I paid full price for to take home was an ok curry hardly any so that was not worth the money. Was only 2 other people in midweek lunch Mon

I would highly recommend the chasni and the prawn poori they are best I have tasted very friendly and a great price

Update. Been back another 3 times the portions have gotten smaller now only 3 pakora was 4 as you can see from my 1st review. The buffet has been cancelled never got to try it instead they offered a table buffet (don't know if still available) anyway the table buffet was crap all u got was a 3 course meal instead of lots of things to try. On our fourth visit it was a different waitress who applied a extra charge for our curry without telling us there would be a surcharge to get it (haven't seen her since, haven't been charged it since) the food is still amazing and great value. I've since tried the lamb pasanda (the lamb was fatty and chewy) I've also had the patia which was thick and delicious, the chasni and the tikka masala also pretty good. The new Gurkha grill is delicious I've visited 3x since it reopened, the food is fresh with good size portions. First visit I had chicken pakora and chicken korma with fried rice and a pashwari nan which is massive, food nicely presented. My friend had lentil soup with crusty bread and steak pie (she said it was spicy but she says that about everything) we both had the Indian rice pudding which is lovely if you've never tried it. Second visit I had seek kebab and chicken pasanda (very like a korma but this was better than last week's korma) with boiled rice. Third visit I had haggis pakora and chicken jalfrezzie and garlic bread, I got to try the vegetable pakora aswell, we both had the rice pudding but it was half the size of previous visits and dried up looked totally different. There was a new menu 3rd time I've taken a picture, 2nd time we got buy 1 get 1 free but that's now finished. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This place was fantastic today for Mother’s Day with my 4 daughters. Elvis tribute was amazing, food was so good and staff were very attentive. Giving an all round 5 stars will certainly be back.

Worst place ever to go eat food was cheep rubbish had breaded fish and was the stuff you get from farm foods, only one person serving and he was too busy on his phone to notice when you needed anything, when you had finished your food he just moved dirty plates onto another table beside you, even service was terrible one person at a time was getting their food and they had finished before anyone else got anything was three of us at the table and we all ate at different times due to service, Reson got a one star is you can't go any lower or it would have been zero

Xmas dinner buffet was delicious , there was a bit of a mix up of times when we were to come and we came too early but they brought us out lots of beautiful starters food was delicious and staff were lovely

We had lunch here last Wednesday (05/04/2) and can't praise it enough! There were five adults and two kids in the party. Four adults had the three-course Business Lunch with tomato soup for our starter. I've never tasted such fantastic tomato soup in a LONG while; we all couldn't get over how good it was. Two of us had the fish and chips and cleared our plates the others had the curry which I think was the South Indian that day. That was scoffed too. My husband had the steak with a whisky sauce which he said was fantastic and done to a "T". The childen had Mac n Cheese and Pizza from the kiddies menu. We all finished with ice cream with various sauces. YUM! All-in-all, a most enjoyable lunch. Great atmosphere, fantastic food at brvery competitive prices and our wonderful server, Shannon, couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. This was me and the hubby's second visit to the restaurant. First time was for dinner, which was also thoroughly enjoyed and was our reason for heading back to the G&B last week. We'll certainly be back again, either for lunch or dinner. Who knows? What I DO know is that we can be sure of excellent food and service.

Lovely wee bar, went for a meal and moved into the bar later on in the evening. Service was on point and the food and drinks where delicious (not to mention cheap !)would happily reccomend trying out this place to friends and family

Took my missus to this amazing new place had to tell every one. The food was excellent, the staff were all very helpfull . Tried the beers and cocktails all superb. Will be returning very soon as it was fantastic. Thank you to all the staff.

Had lunch here on Saturday. Great service, even though there was a wedding venue on at the same time, no delays waiting in food. Had the ombre pizza, amazing, even better than Domino's. My wife had the steak pie which she enjoyed. Only criticism would be that she prefers the pastry cooked with the stew cos when it's cooked separately it's too dry and brittle. Would recommend and will gladly go back.

We went for a lunch with my mother in law who is very picky about what she eats…..she loved it there we all had the fish and chips I don’t usually eat the batter but it was different from the other batters I have had it had a light spice to it and it was crispy not soggy we all cleared our plates The staff were great with us checking the food was ok we had enough drinks and they couldn’t do any more for us very helpful Will be returning very soon

Usual collection of alky's and neds in this pub. Should have been knocked down years ago and every shed of it chucked in the Clyde. Only people giving it 5 stars are normally the alkys themselves.

We have been coming here for years and has always been good. However this is the first time we have been back since lockdown and it’s such a shame as it was awful. The portions were tiny practically half of what you use to get and £11 for a curry with a skinny burnt Nan bread and you don’t even get rice. The roast dinner was ok potatoes were rock hard so was cauliflower the only good thing was the beef which was lovely. The staff were ok one member seemed a little confused by everything. My husband received his curry in a bowl and Nan bread on a board but we had to ask for a plate to put it on and cutlery to eat it with. We are very disappointed that this is what has happened to this place but it if this is the route they are going down it won’t be busy for much longer we will be going elsewhere from now on and won’t be back to waste our money going home hungry. Save your money go elsewhere.

Food here is amazing, 8 of us went for dinner and every meal was outstanding. The fillet steak was done to perfection. Staff were attentive without hanging over us and all COVID safety rules followed. Will defo go back

Just had a takeaway for the first time in my wife's recommendation and glad I did. Chicken Pakora starter was delicious followed by fantastic Americano pizza and Godfather penne pasta. Good value too and local so defo be back. I wish them well through the tough times ahead and would highly recommend if you fancy something really nice and cant be bothered cooking.

Totally overpriced for halfway. £5.25 for a pint of Moretti. £12 for a pizza with no sides. £10 for a small lasagna on its own with no sides. And turn the heating on. However staff are very friendly and attentive.

We visited here for the first time for an anniversary meal. Food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and polite. The service was very quick. Perhaps the only down side was that it was maybe a little too quick as we were in and out in less that an hour and a half and still had three courses. It was a quiet night though so that may explain it. On the whole though a lovely meal and will definitely be back again soon,

Great as a pub to chill out with friends but the food in here is of poor quality do not waste your money. Ordered a sunday dinner a few weeks ago and received reheated rubbish. Meat was rubbery and tasteless potatoes were solid gravy. Disgusting. I understand it is a cheap meal but save your money and go elsewhere.

Heres a place for great value for money, service and food excellent and they don't scrimp on portions

Ten of us went here for a family meal and we had a great time. Nice atmosphere and good food. Can't say for all but the fish and chips and the chicken with haggis went down well.Veggie options.. I had mozzarella fingers that went down a treat. The vegetable bhuna was good too and the chocolate cake to finish was lovely. The scoop of ice cream was a bit meant though!Good value for money and the girl on our table was brilliant. She went to check on vegan options and came back with a list for us. Nice place to sit for a meal. Would definitely go back.

Awful ... awful ... awful .... did I say awful .. more offal than awful .. fries still frozen , burger was nice and not to bad. Pizza terrible ,, Tennents rubbish , I had to go next door for a better pint .. staff are always nice, but chefs have to get a grip serving pizza’s half cooked , chips half cooked , flat coke , wee things let this place down badly

Thought we would visit this place as it is practically on our door step. And we weren’t disappointed. A three course lunch for £6.95! There’s even a cheaper option for three courses for £4.95!!!!! But we decided to push the boat out. The courses were just right. We will be back. And we will recommend.

Food was ok reasonably priced BUT £1.90 for a t bag in a mug of hot water is a pure rip off, the cost for cans of juice is shocking

Visited with my husband and mother in law for 3 course lunch for £4.95, soup starter, breaded fish, chips and salad and ice cream to finish, really well cooked and can’t argue with the price, plenty other good choices on menu too, my husband paid £2 extra for chicken pakora started and was well worth, great size portion and very tasty. Will be going again very soon.

Nice food good menu really reasonable prices for food but drinks very expensive no need to charge £1.75 for a juice takes the goodness out of the meal

Went here for family lunch adult menu good value 3 courses for £4.95 however not worth upgrading to chicken pakora for extra £1.95 for 3 small pieces. Children’s menu is a joke £4.50 for 4 chicken nuggets and fries not even a piece of salad on plate. Don’t mind paying for drinks but at £1.75 for half pint of lemonade for each child it did not turn out to be a cheap lunch, won’t be rushing back.

My husband and I went to the Velvet Bar and Grill we went for the two course lunch menu, not a lot to choose from the staff were very nice , this was the second time we have been but I don’t think I’ll be back it’s very cold they don’t have central heating just a couple of electric fan heaters didn’t enjoy eating in a cold restaurant

I eat here regularly and for the daytime special it's fine, however the menu in the evening is expensive, my husband had the steak pie and he enjoyed it, I on the other hand had the curry and it was pretty dreadful, extremely expensive for poor quality food.

I was taken out for a Christmas lunch.As I've past the Velvet Room many a time I mentioned it to.my Brother and my Sister in law,They asked if Fancy going to Velvet Room for Christmas lunch,And may I say the food was great for all of us.the prices were very good.

My partner and I have been here a handful of times for food and for drink, both we really enjoy. The food is really lovely and not your average ‘pub grub’ standard. There are lots of drinks to choose from and the music is superb. Staff have good banter and are fast! Boss is also a really nice guy. We love it here and will continue to visit.

Great place, decor is stylish and welcoming, steak pie, fish, pasta, burgers all lovely and good size portions, my daughter ate for free and the kids macaroni and chips was huge portion, entertainment available weekends, singers and kids allowed in until 10pm if eating. Staff very attentive and efficient.

I don’t know how they manage to do the food they do for the amazing price but this place is a really great find! 3 courses for £4.95 (a couple of us splashed out and paid the £1.95 extra to upgrade to pakora starters) and everything was really tasty. Fish and chips huge and very good, pakora really lovely. Highly recommend!

Amazing place, Has become a weekly event. The pakora is delicious also pizzas and curries . Lunch menu is fantastic value with a wide range to choose from 3 course prices start at £4.95 and go up to £9.95 . Have also gone at night where prices are a wee bit more than the lunch specials. Love this place.

Heard really good reviews about the Velvet Bar & Grill in Cambuslang so decided to stop by for some lunch with my wife on my day off. I ordered the burger & chips and my wife got the mac & cheese. We also got a pizza to share. To be honest it was very good value for money. The food was good and the atmosphere was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the full meal including drinks came to under £20.00. The only minor thing I didn't like was the burger which had spices in it where I tend to like my burger without spice and just grilled but that is a personal choice and should have no reflection on the restaurant which was very good value for money and I would recommend it.

we have been to the restaurant 3 times now and every time the food has been very good the service has been excellent and the value for the food is 2nd to none, the deals they provide are very good , the restraint is spotless

Perhaps it's the cost of the recent renovation that has resulted in the pub having no draft beer OF ANY KIND. I know management will say it was because of the recent snow, but they were running out before the snow started.

He comido en el Hostal del Sol en un par de ocasiones y lo disfruté. Decidimos visitar hace un par de semanas. Cuando llegamos, tarde un domingo por la tarde, no había otros clientes en el restaurante. Nos pidieron nuestra opciones de bebidas y ni Appletiser ni J2O estaban disponibles, lo cual me pareció bastante extraño, teniendo en cuenta que este es un pub y yo siempre he sido capaz de conseguir uno o el otro en otro lugar. Yo opté por algunos zumos de frutas, que estaba bien. En leer el menú, todos estábamos bastante decepcionados, ya que la variedad ha cambiado considerablemente desde nuestra última visita. La elección era ahora muy básico (ninguno de pollo el Hunter's, etc.) y la única opción para mi marido era vegetariano. queso macaroni Me imagino que el lugar había cambiado de manos. Las comidas estaban bien, no tengo quejas, y el servicio era bueno. Es verdaderamente la falta de un menú de inspiración que decepciona en este lugar, cuando ha sido bastante interesante y atractivo antes.

Just your usual local pub. Food is average. Use to be a rockin little place had entertainment every weekend. However, despite numerous owners just can't turn the place around. Pub and food is average.

Primera vez en 3 años aproximadamente. No te des prisa en regresar. El primer plato estaba bien, buena relación calidad-precio. Main, teníamos las 2 filetes por £20. Servido con patatas fritas frías! Lugar muy concurrido lo suficientemente grande, con un montón de familias. Sin embargo, los dos miembros del personal eran totalmente dirigido a sus pies tratando de servir comida, tomar pedidos, pour bebidas y pagos. Como he dicho no será en demasiado de prisa en volver.

Primera visita a Glasgow para ver buenos amigos y 9 de nosotros visitamos el Sol Inn en un sábado por la noche para la cena. El personal Sun Inn es acogedor y amable y el personal era muy hospitalario. Todos estábamos sentados perfectamente y fueron la izquierda para navegar por el menú y bebidas ofrecidos mientras estábamos ocupados eligiendo entre una buena selección de comida de pub.

What kind of pub regularly runs out of beer ------ the sun inn. In my experience this indicates severe cash flow problems and imminent closure . Please prove me wrong and have regular supplies of beer

Six of us ate here tonight on the two can dine for 12.99p two courses restaurant was very quiet so service was quick lovely waitress who took our order those who had soup said it was piping hot and tasty main were chilli and macaroni cheese with chips,salad and homemade coleslaw and portions were enormous puddings again no complaints and large portions good value for what you pay

Stopped in here for dinner last night after being out and about.We have been here before so we know that the food is good, they have minimised their 2 can dine for £12.99 menu to 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts but it is still very good valueThey have started doing american grill items which are very good.I opted for the new yorker burger which come with BBQ pulled pork and onion rings on top - it was very tasty the pulled pork was awesome!My wife went for the steak pie which was very big and tasty as well, lovely soft steak and delicious gravy.I really couldn't fault the food to be honest.The service can be hit or miss here but it was quiet when we went last night so there was no issues.

Stopped by for food after Karting. No co-ordination to service, everyone doing anything meant tables were overlooked. Anyone who came in and sat themselves down (because they could) were met with an aggressive "Can I help you?" followed by "Have you booked?". If they were unlucky they had to stand up and leave.One table who complained was approached by the same woman who said very loudly as she walked up "What's wrong?". Drinks served to the table were sometimes clutched to one waitress' chest, which isn't good, but another one used a tray.It was more entertaining than anything, to be honest, but the way customers were looked after could have been so much better, which was a shame as the food was OK and there's been money spent on the place. Willing, but inept and not trained to know any different.

Tried the Sun Inn for food this evening (6/10/13) and were impressed by the '2 can dine for £12.99 menu'...basically my other half and I had 2 courses each for £12.99 but along with 4 pints our total bill was £32.00....a fiver a pint is far too expensive for where this establishment is located. The girl with the glasses was very pleasant and the food was lovely but what could have been a superb value experience was let down by the inflated alcohol prices.

I requested a dish with reduced cream and the waitress (Caitlin) asked the chef, who prepared a typical Italian Carbonara. It was tasty and much better than those artificially creamy ones. This eatery always has friendly staff who, with the catering staff cater for individual needs.Well worth a visit if you live locally to Cambuslang or are passing through. We always enjoy a visit.

My wife and me went in with no real expectations. The place looks like its had money spent on it, first impressions were good. The girl who served us couldn't have been nicer. As soon as a drink was empty she'd very nicely suggest a refill, superb lol. The food was really nice, we hasn't expected it to be so good. A Haggis burger with a whiskey sauce, fries and home made coleslaw. All very well done. Keep it up and we will be regulars. Also be doing our best to tell people about the food. Well done
