Our reservation was cancelled a few days before the day due to there being a wedding. They should have made this clear on the website and not allowed us to book.

I booked for my mum's 80th birthday and the service was awful.....the sandwiches were dry....The cake selection consisted of chocolates brownies and scones with jam and cream.....yet when I looked at others they all had a better selection. We only had one pot of tea between 4, and had to ask the waitress for the champagne which was prosecco. ... Was it because we had a groupon voucher and felt we got treated differently.

My daughter and I have stayed in the hotel a couple of times but this was a Sunday Lunch visit having booked through open table. There was only one other table seated and we were actually made to feel it was inconvenient we were there. Staff were rude and the food, which I had thought would be a well priced Sunday Lunch, was the worst meal I have ever eaten. Will certainly not be returning.

Our booking was cancelled due to a function so we were unable to eat there as planned but instead had to walk down the hill after a full day out and have a dreadful meal at the pub suggested by the reception staff.

My friend and myself came here for afternoon tea as we had a voucher. The waitress very kindly moved us outside as it was a lovely day. We asked for no salmon as I was pregnant and my friend doesn't eat fish, the Waitress offered us to replace them with ham and cheese sandwiches. The salmon arrived on the sandwich platter anyway, it was taken back and changed but when it came back there were less sandwiches on the plate? A waiter took over the service and was not easy to locate for tea and coffee refills. Unfortunetly the scones were stale but still edible. Overall the experience was ok but I wouldn't come here again for afternoon tea or food. The bar area looks ok for a drink.

I went for Afternoon Tea with my husband. The sandwiches were ok, nothing special. The cakes again were ok. I give lots of Afternoon Teas, and have been to hotels and Fortnum & Mason for beautiful teas, so l was disappointed when the sandwiches appeared on a plain white earthenware plate and the cakes on a slate!! no tiered cake stands and no Green Tea either. Also you should be asked if you want more tea or sandwiches or cakes, again not forthcoming. The Afternoon Tea was a present so l feel it was wasted and perhaps should have chosen another location.

Food was average, generous portion sizes however wasn't very fresh though, service was excellent and the place was very cosy and elegant with nicely laid tables. very quiet and peaceful. when we went it was just us, was nice as it was quiet and had great service however would have been nicer if more people and some background music or something to create some sort of atmosphere. Had a Groupon voucher for Sunday lunch and was a good deal and value for money however I wouldn't pay the full price, so would only go back if had a voucher.

Unfortunately the place is run down and could do with a refurb. I was there for Afternoon Tea with my mother and I booked as per their website Afternoon Tea with champagne. However it was Prosecco and not champagne! The sandwiches were not very tasty and the bread was dry. The crockery for the tea was old and the teapot had tea stains. The pastries were ok. I'm not generally that fussy but as this was a gift it didn't feel very special at all. So as soon as we had finished we headed back into the main town and walked around the shops and by the river which was lovely.

We had an amazing dinner at the Atrium Brasserie. The food was delightful and the service was impeccable. The Brook Kingston Lodge Hotel is definitely a hidden gem. We had such a great time we are returning to the hotel for NYE, which we cannot wait for. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

The restaurant at this hotel is attractive and pleasant with adequate car parking. However, the service was awful: very slow (only 4 tables), ignorance of basic 'service' ( extra cutlery just dumped on table), pint glass for 3yr old, extra (wrong) dressing brought out in original container squirted directly on plate. The promised rare beef over cooked, roast potatoes under cooked, bland vegetables, no `Yorkies with beef, baked fish overcooked, average Greek and Caesar salads, etc etc. It is understandable that there was a table available where other places in Kingston fully booked for this sunday lunch.

Wonderful service on the night. Patrick was a superb waiter and made us feel special. Terrible customer service prior to the night - staff were unfamiliar with the Open Table booking procedures, rang me twice, the second time by an extremely junior, poorly mannered, and poorly informed receptionist who did nothing but irritate me to the extreme. Sadly, despite giving feedback, I have little confidence that the junior member of staff and manager on the night (who asked her to ring me) will be trained/educated and it is likely it will happen again.

There is nothing in the Top Table description that tells you the Atrium is a Hotel Restaurant. In fact you drive past the hotel whihc has no sign indicating it has within it the Atrium grill. The staff were lovely, but the food was standard fare and while reasonably priced - nothing could make up for the slighlty empty suroundings. Neither bustling nor hip, it could only ever be as good as a hotel restaurant normally is.

There was a set menu for this day, starters were great but when the mains came a lot of the side veg was not very warm and the roasties were not great. However the service was excellent and could not have been more helpful. Made a fuss of mum, important

The starter was great, the sea bass was a little underwhelming. The restaurant itself is simple - not somewhere you'll find that wow factor but good for a long working lunch/somewhere quiet where you won't be disturbed

Arrived for afternoons tea 2pm ,very surprised only cups ,No Saucers ,had to carry our own tea to table and wait for food .Food was delicious and presented nicely but it arrived 10 mins later .We had practically finished the tea .Why can the staff not bring tea over with the food ?I know it’s a cafe but have some etiquette,I think everyone associates afternoon tea is a cup and saucer must that’s part of the experience

Jonathan Personal Gibbs 46 reviews Dine in | Brunch | £1–10 Following the demise of the much loved Jaxx, a period without a local cafe, and a couple of stuttering starts, the OLRC has found its feet and become a treasured community cafe. For sure there are slicker venues - better food and classier decor - to be found locally, but there is now a real sense of a local shared space and an regular eclectic mix of patrons. As a daily vistor I've noticed the vibe change between times of day, day of week, and college term times. You kinda sign up for that before you enter. I haven't experienced their ccasional evening live entertainments so can't comment. Pet friendly, this has become my dogs' second home, along with a cute kitten and (as previously noted) the occasional pair of parakeets.

Had a very tasty chicken burger and fries today,, freshly prepared and didn’t have to wait long before it got delivered to my table. Bright and spacious, this restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem in Kingston.
