Just had lunch here, got served by Harry. The food was amazing, big portions. The service was lovely and attentive! Would recommend this place, and definitely coming again :)

Just visited this pub with two friends for our Christmas catch up. Main course which was belly of pork was lovely but I cannot get over the portion size of the crème brûlée for a staggering £9.25. It was so tiny it’s unbelievable. Then to find out from the menu when checking the price that it should have been served with raspberries which were missing and other components were missing but they couldn’t be bothered to own up to that. Mentioned this to the server who pretty much dismissed it saying she wouldn’t know because she doesn’t eat crème brûlée. Would not return and would not recommend.

Service was very slow even though the place was empty. Would have been nice to get some Pepsi with our ice. Prices are a bit steep for the surf and turf not sure how two prawns and cold steak justify the £36 price tag. Would have been nice if it came out hot but seems it was sat there on the pass too long.

The staff gave us a warm greeting and offered my toddler some colouring in pages. The festive menu was excellent and good value for money. The ambience was lovely and the staff were polite and helpful.

Excellent service from the bar person Rae the reindeer today ,great to see Christmas cheer being spread by all on this miserable windy day.

Visited the Ashton for breakfast with Santa with two very excited 4 year olds although the weather storm Darragh lead to a lot of cancellations all the staff made the experience magical for the children we all enjoyed a breakfast then the children went to see Santa.Thank you to all the staff who made it such a brilliant morning.

We had a lovely Sunday roast and our server Jack was fab! My partner loved the pork and the veggie option was great :)

Poor service. Food was OK but overpriced for what We had it took an absolute age to get our food. Booked for 12.30 didn't leave until 3.10 and that was only 2 courses. Didn't get offered dessert or coffee. The restaurant wasn't busy. We had to go on to the bar to get more drinks. I would hate to think how long we would have to wait if it was busy

Came for my husbands birthday, lovely atmosphere friendly staff, great service from Rae who recommended a cider, cant wait to come back.

Absolutley outstanding service from Jack and Charlie, was very refreshing to talk to some students! Awesome food as well! Will most certainly return for the great service alone!

We had a roast today. They were very good. The children's roasts were enormous, adult size but half the meat. The service was slow but it was a Sunday. Overall, very good.

Lovely quality gastro-pub food in a cozy smart environment. Despite our large party, the staff did a great job this evening. Harry in particularly really stood out as a service-conscious, knowledgable and friendly host. He made sure to start and end service with a really pleasant professional tone. Good job Harry! PS. Have dropped stars for missing cutlery when desserts arrived (torturous!) and would be even better if the lower bottom room tables were checked on more often as we found it hard to catch attention of team. But all in all a lovely evening!

Attended the refurbished Ashton this evening as a family of 4 with 2 young children. We all loved the food and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The food came out quickly and it was lovely to sit in a relaxed atmosphere by the warming fire!

Really cosy pub. We came in for a Sunday lunch, had a bottle of wine between me and 2 other friends outside while we waited for our table. The staff are very friendly and welcoming but because I expected a lot of from the roast dinner, I felt quite disappointed. I had the chicken and fig parfait to start which was lovely. I had the trio of roasts for my roast dinner. I was really excited for some pork belly but they gave me the fattiest piece, which I don't mind but a bit more in the oven or cooking on it would be nice. The potatoes were also hard and needed more cooking. I felt like the meal was a bit rushed especially because my friends said the same with their meal. My yorkshire pudding also tasted quite burnt but my friends said their's were fine. Dessert was lovely though...I had the chocolate bomb but I'd say its probably best they do this dessert in a bowl rather than a flat plate as the ice cream melted everywhere and it was hard to scoop it. I would definitely recommend the chocolate bomb as I'm not keen on overly sweet sickly desserts but this was just right!

Food portions are quite small but generally this is a nice quiet pub for a group meet up.

Lovely decorated pub with a cosy atmosphere. Unfortunately, that’s where it ends. The majority of waitresses and waiters seemed incredibly anxious and quiet. Yes it was busy, however it took an eternity for orders to be taken and food/drink to arrive. The Duo of Beef was just rare fat that wasn’t really edible. About 4 raw roast potato’s, a sprinkle of gravy + oh and the cauliflower cheese had ZERO cheese - it was honestly quite funny. We then waited an eternity for the deserts to arrive - at least these were better. The manager woman serving tables seemed the most competent, at least she was good. Looks can be deceiving - although this pub looked beautiful, the food and service was below average

Very slow service worst roast I've ever had and very rude waitress can't fault the manger for resolving the issue, roasters we're hollow and filled with oil with a rubber texter parsnip wasn't cooked and hard inside waitress who was rude showed attuided over being asked to warm up the stone cold coli cheese before this she slammed them on the table and walked off in a huff only bouns is the manger was very understanding and refunded us with no problem maybe this was a one off but shan't be rushing back there

We came out to the Ashton for a spot of lunch, we booked in advanced so we swiftly got taken to our seats, the lovely Charlie and Harry were our waiters. They ensured we had everything we needed and provided excellent service. The food was amazing we had 2 seabasses, but one of us had a prawn allergy. Our servers checked with the chefs and managed to make a sea bass meal without prawns so I could still have the meal I wanted. Thanks

Lovely food, good stylish decor. And they do a fondue, by the looks of things, which is a rarity in Bristol.

Very good, tasty roast dinner and good value. The pub is in a good location and very nicely decorated with log fires etc. I would imagine it would be nice to sit outside in the summer.

Good food drink and friendly staff

Went there today, blunt response to not having a table. Second time I’ve gone in 2 weeks. Other time we had a good meal but again, front of house was grim. She really needs to understand how to be friendly. Food was good though. Same girl each time, really poor at customer service.

The deco and set up is lovely. Really friendly staff and very dog friendly. We went on a Monday evening and it was quiet. The food came out quickly. Was pleasant food. Normal pub food. Would recommend booking at busier times.

We had a long journey ahead of us home from the airport, and stopped off here for some food and a drink. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice selection of food to choose from, very well presented. The toilets were very clean. Very impressed all round. we hope to visit here again.

We enjoyed our meal, however the service was slow. We were not advised on arrival, that we needed to submit our car details into the screen at the bar otherwise we had to pay for parking. The sign to share this was not at the entrance and suggested and Euro Car Parks charged £100 per vehicle, we had 2 vehicles and so for a sunday roast the final bill was £300. I appealed and the pub were very unwilling to help and I was told that despite them having a record of our booking and proof of card payment to the Ashton Pub, they were unable to help me with the parking fines. A very disappointing experience and whilst the food was nice we will never go there again because of the rude staff and lack of support.

Our waiter Harry was just a dream. Kind, helpful and attentive what a lovely young man he is an asset to a wonderful pub. The halloumi fires were exceptional I am truly obsessed!!!

Great food. Had an issue with the order not going through, but the staff were friendly and resolved everything.

The food was going really well till we got to the desserts. The duo of roast beef was delicious and the other roasts were equally tasty. The chocolate creme brulee (£9.50) was the size of a 2p coin and barely contained any substantial amount of dessert. I left a quarter of the dessert stained on the bowl (see photo). Meanwhile, my baby had - for £3.50 - two full scoops of icecream and a chocolate cookie. Such a disappointing end to a good meal. I’d recommend skipping the dessert menu if you visit this restaurant.

It has been a long time since my friend and I last went to The Ashton. We were in for a lovely surprise with the refurbishment being first class luxury! Harry was a breath of fresh air, polite, helpful and the perfect host. The food was great and the dessert was excellent! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Good location and the pub has been renovated very nicely. A couple of the staff were clearly trying their best. I can only describe the food as overpriced and diabolical at best. It was a joke! The place was very busy - can’t understand why - and extremely noisey. No chance of us ever coming here again. Such a shame.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Ashton. The surroundings indoor and outdoor are modern, stylishly furnished. The design of the outdoor seating provide privacy. A varied menu and reasonable prices. Nice selection of desserts which included mini dessert with a coffee or cocktail!. Our meal was perfect. I particularly enjoyed my ribeye steak. The staff were personable, professional and efficient. Harry looked after us and nothing was too much trouble.

Served by Harry. Proper 5* service. First time coming and will be back.

A brilliant staff who were attentive and bright throughout our visit on a Tuesday lunch time. Katsura was great and able to attend to all of our needs. Another member of staff who sat us at our table took on board our requests of seating us in a quieter area away from any direct line from speakers. Staff were knowledgeable and approachable. Good on the 2 or 3 course lunch menu was good value. Food presented as good quality and tasty.

Have been to the Ashton for Sunday lunch today. I had the trio of roast, it was lovely. There were three of us and we all had different meals. Each one was excellent. Much improved on previous visits. They gave the covid protection very well implemented, we were impressed and felt very confident. Thank you to the staff for courteou, efficient service. Will be back very soon, especially for the trio roast!

Booked a table on the Fork, but when we got there they had not received the booking and the kitchen was closed. We were informed that you can only book online on their website.

The revamp is amazing. However, the like it or lump it approach to customer service and the shocking way the customer comes last unfortunately means that we won't be revisiting. Shame as this is our local!

We went to the Ashton for Sunday lunch to celebrate our twin daughters' 30th birthday. We were so impressed with the whole experience-definitely a cut above the standard pub fayre in every sense. Food was delicious and the service excellent. A particular shout out to Harry our waiter who did everything to ensure we all had a lovely time. Will definitely be back!

We were very well looked after by our waiter Harry. He was very efficient and nothing was too much trouble.

First time visiting The Ashton, which is a beautiful country pub and restaurant, and really enjoyed having lunch there. The service was good and the establishment was beautifully maintained. We had Steak and Malbec pie, with mash and brocolli stems, and freshly battered line-caught Cod & Chips, minted pea purée, house tartare sauce, charred lemon - both cooked to perfection. There is a lovely courtyard outside where you can eat/drink during fine weather as well. Parking is also available on site. Would happily recommend The Ashton and would certainly pay them another visit when in the area.

Went to celebrate a big birthday..refurbishment beautiful BUT disappointed with the size of the desserts..presented on a large plate but the portions very small for the price we paid. Won't be returning unfortunately.

Had a great lunch and not pressured to leave the table. Service was very good. Will certainly go again. The new decor and furniture is much improved.

4/8/24 family meal Lovely refit at the Ashton, nicely done. Maisie was fantastic, thank you Maisie. We all bizarrely had the roast chicken x5 and it was very good choice + I would definitely recommend the posh fry’s with truffle shavings, a very reasonable £1 extra. We will be back soon. From 11 months ago Excellent food, traditional menu done very well. The team all seem to enjoy working there which is always a good sign, very welcoming and relaxed experience. Our pizza was running late and they came over to apologise and brought complimentary drinks, nice touch but we didn’t realise, relaxed environment! Chicken liver and the rotisserie roast chicken - lovely

Wonderful Saturday evening dinner and service from Ellis! A credit to the company!

Lovely location with nice decor. Unfortunately I think we visited at a time when they were a little understaffed as the service wasn't great and the food wasn't a high standard for the price. But the drinks were reasonably priced and nicely presented.

Just reopened after refurbishment had a lovely meal and starter, next time leave the starter and have a pudding 🍮

Shared a wonderful lunch with hubby and parents and took advantage of joining the Friends of the Ashton club to get a free starter, which saved almost £40 off the bill. The Scallops, Crab and Squid starters were all delicious (squid can be hit or miss, but this was extremely tender with a very light batter). For mains we had the lamb rump, pork belly with scallops and steak and merlot pie, All were exceedingly delicious although the pie was very rich and may have benefitted from having just a pastry lid rather than an entire pastry case. Overall, we had a fabulous lunch and with supreme service from the lovely Harry, who looked after us extremely well. We will return...

Steak and onion rings came out stone cold, service was awful - had to ask to order our food twice. When the food was sent back the steak that was re-served was not the same cut as I ordered - it was much thinner and tougher and was overcooked. The starter, a white crab on sourdough bread and the second dish, mushrooms, were laughable portions and were far too expensive for what they were. I don't struggle for money but this took the piss. In fairness we were not charged for the steak and onion rings and the wine was excellent. The seafood pasta, however, was sparse and the extra charge for scallops was approx £5 for 3 small scallops. Again over charging and under delivering. We were offered desert but the evening meal was already ruined. We, my wife and I, have dined here before but the standards have dropped quite significantly. I would not recommend it. Venture further into Bristol and spend slightly more for a vastly better experience.
