It was our first time at The Ashton tonight, we absolutely loved it. Had a lovely meal and fantastic service from Harry. Will definitely be coming back again. Thanks so much x

Our waiter Harry was just a dream. Kind, helpful and attentive what a lovely young man he is an asset to a wonderful pub. The halloumi fires were exceptional I am truly obsessed!!!

Great food. Had an issue with the order not going through, but the staff were friendly and resolved everything.

The food was going really well till we got to the desserts. The duo of roast beef was delicious and the other roasts were equally tasty. The chocolate creme brulee (£9.50) was the size of a 2p coin and barely contained any substantial amount of dessert. I left a quarter of the dessert stained on the bowl (see photo). Meanwhile, my baby had - for £3.50 - two full scoops of icecream and a chocolate cookie. Such a disappointing end to a good meal. I’d recommend skipping the dessert menu if you visit this restaurant.

It has been a long time since my friend and I last went to The Ashton. We were in for a lovely surprise with the refurbishment being first class luxury! Harry was a breath of fresh air, polite, helpful and the perfect host. The food was great and the dessert was excellent! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Good location and the pub has been renovated very nicely. A couple of the staff were clearly trying their best. I can only describe the food as overpriced and diabolical at best. It was a joke! The place was very busy - can’t understand why - and extremely noisey. No chance of us ever coming here again. Such a shame.

Served by Harry. Proper 5* service. First time coming and will be back.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Ashton. The surroundings indoor and outdoor are modern, stylishly furnished. The design of the outdoor seating provide privacy. A varied menu and reasonable prices. Nice selection of desserts which included mini dessert with a coffee or cocktail!. Our meal was perfect. I particularly enjoyed my ribeye steak. The staff were personable, professional and efficient. Harry looked after us and nothing was too much trouble.

Harry was lovely and provided great service this evening. Food was lovely too. We had all 3 courses. Lamb rump was perfect.

Have been to the Ashton for Sunday lunch today. I had the trio of roast, it was lovely. There were three of us and we all had different meals. Each one was excellent. Much improved on previous visits. They gave the covid protection very well implemented, we were impressed and felt very confident. Thank you to the staff for courteou, efficient service. Will be back very soon, especially for the trio roast!

Booked a table on the Fork, but when we got there they had not received the booking and the kitchen was closed. We were informed that you can only book online on their website.

A brilliant staff who were attentive and bright throughout our visit on a Tuesday lunch time. Katsura was great and able to attend to all of our needs. Another member of staff who sat us at our table took on board our requests of seating us in a quieter area away from any direct line from speakers. Staff were knowledgeable and approachable. Good on the 2 or 3 course lunch menu was good value. Food presented as good quality and tasty.

After booking for my wife’s birthday, sadly we left without eating as I stood at the bar being totally ignored whilst other customers who arrived after me were served.

The revamp is amazing. However, the like it or lump it approach to customer service and the shocking way the customer comes last unfortunately means that we won't be revisiting. Shame as this is our local!

Great ambience but terrible food and worst service. Our experience was that we didn't matter and pleasing us was too much trouble. Wouldn't recommend

We went to the Ashton for Sunday lunch to celebrate our twin daughters' 30th birthday. We were so impressed with the whole experience-definitely a cut above the standard pub fayre in every sense. Food was delicious and the service excellent. A particular shout out to Harry our waiter who did everything to ensure we all had a lovely time. Will definitely be back!

We were very well looked after by our waiter Harry. He was very efficient and nothing was too much trouble.

First time visiting The Ashton, which is a beautiful country pub and restaurant, and really enjoyed having lunch there. The service was good and the establishment was beautifully maintained. We had Steak and Malbec pie, with mash and brocolli stems, and freshly battered line-caught Cod & Chips, minted pea purée, house tartare sauce, charred lemon - both cooked to perfection. There is a lovely courtyard outside where you can eat/drink during fine weather as well. Parking is also available on site. Would happily recommend The Ashton and would certainly pay them another visit when in the area.

Came here for the first time for a roast dinner we had the trio of meats, wow it was amazing the best roast dinner in ages will defo be back!

Went to celebrate a big birthday..refurbishment beautiful BUT disappointed with the size of the desserts..presented on a large plate but the portions very small for the price we paid. Won't be returning unfortunately.

Had a great lunch and not pressured to leave the table. Service was very good. Will certainly go again. The new decor and furniture is much improved.

4/8/24 family meal Lovely refit at the Ashton, nicely done. Maisie was fantastic, thank you Maisie. We all bizarrely had the roast chicken x5 and it was very good choice + I would definitely recommend the posh fry’s with truffle shavings, a very reasonable £1 extra. We will be back soon. From 11 months ago Excellent food, traditional menu done very well. The team all seem to enjoy working there which is always a good sign, very welcoming and relaxed experience. Our pizza was running late and they came over to apologise and brought complimentary drinks, nice touch but we didn’t realise, relaxed environment! Chicken liver and the rotisserie roast chicken - lovely

Wonderful Saturday evening dinner and service from Ellis! A credit to the company!

Lovely location with nice decor. Unfortunately I think we visited at a time when they were a little understaffed as the service wasn't great and the food wasn't a high standard for the price. But the drinks were reasonably priced and nicely presented.

Just reopened after refurbishment had a lovely meal and starter, next time leave the starter and have a pudding 🍮

Shared a wonderful lunch with hubby and parents and took advantage of joining the Friends of the Ashton club to get a free starter, which saved almost £40 off the bill. The Scallops, Crab and Squid starters were all delicious (squid can be hit or miss, but this was extremely tender with a very light batter). For mains we had the lamb rump, pork belly with scallops and steak and merlot pie, All were exceedingly delicious although the pie was very rich and may have benefitted from having just a pastry lid rather than an entire pastry case. Overall, we had a fabulous lunch and with supreme service from the lovely Harry, who looked after us extremely well. We will return...

Steak and onion rings came out stone cold, service was awful - had to ask to order our food twice. When the food was sent back the steak that was re-served was not the same cut as I ordered - it was much thinner and tougher and was overcooked. The starter, a white crab on sourdough bread and the second dish, mushrooms, were laughable portions and were far too expensive for what they were. I don't struggle for money but this took the piss. In fairness we were not charged for the steak and onion rings and the wine was excellent. The seafood pasta, however, was sparse and the extra charge for scallops was approx £5 for 3 small scallops. Again over charging and under delivering. We were offered desert but the evening meal was already ruined. We, my wife and I, have dined here before but the standards have dropped quite significantly. I would not recommend it. Venture further into Bristol and spend slightly more for a vastly better experience.

Had an amazing meal at the Ashton today! Our server Harry was amazing today and he looked after us all the time, an amazing atmosphere and look forward to returning in the near future.

It was my first time at the Ashton and my family took me for my early b day lunch. It was such a lovely experience and harry our server made it very nice. As someone who used to work in the service industry for a while he did amazing for his first day. (Definitely deserves a raise x)

The inside of the Pub was well arranged to accommodate social distancing. The staff were attentive and friendly they also followed the rules. We enjoyed our fish and chips very much indeed and my wine was good quality. All in all a relaxing and enjoyable lunch. Have recently had a post renovation visit and was most impressed. The outside eating area has been refurbished to provide comfortable and diverse seating areas. The inside is tastefully decorated and the new furniture stylish and comfortable. Well done

Can't even make a booking with a phone call because a robot answers and says no after a lot of faffing about. Shame

We had a really nice time - great service, very tasty food. I appreciated my very specific dietary needs were met. My friends enjoyed their chicken dishes as well. The location is right next to the Ashton Court estate. Well done Kayan and the team. We will be back soon

Sat in a lovely terraced area and was immediately impressed with the level of service. We really think you are getting good value here for the quality of the food. The calamari and bread board were all delicious staters. For mains, two of us had cod and chips. We would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. So, thank you to the restaurant’s staff, in particular Kayan. Keep up the good work.

Stumbled on this place on the drive back to Bristol. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and our waiter Logan couldn’t have done anything more for us.

Had a lovely time out for a family birthday this afternoon, we were looked after by Logi who was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was really nice, will definitely be coming back :)

Went for a lunch to see The Ashton after their refurb and was amazed by how it’s turned out. Logan served us in their restaurant and he was on the ball and never laughed more and had a more enjoyable night!!

The service was excellent and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Particular praise to our server, Maisie, who handled our order with outstanding friendliness and admirable patience - even when we changed our mind about the order multiple times! A perfect example of extraordinary professionalism.

Fine dining restaurants in Bristol will be jealous of the decor at the Ashton. It is superb and the food was absolutely marvellous. Friendly staff, just wonderful.

I'm always keen to see a Refurbished Pub. The Ashton has long been a fond pub of mine for a Autumn/Winter drink after a dog walk in Ashton Court with their incredible central fireplace (if you know you know)! The refurb seamlessly blends classic with modern comfort with some great finishing touches. Had the most loveliest experience at The Ashton’s reopening evening!! The drinks and canopes were to die for!! The staff were so so lovely and couldn’t be more attentive! With a special mention to Kayan - your gin bar and gorgeous customer service was both simply amazing!

Came in for a roast on Sunday. This was there last day of opening before a refurb but this didn’t interfere at all, the food was lovely and the team couldn’t have done more to help. Can’t wait to come back and see the new look!

I booked a table for 7pm on the 6June when we arrived there wasn’t anyone around to confirm our booking I had to go and find a member of staff. We had to share the menu’s as there were not enough, it took 1/2 hr for the server to take our order of food and drinks eventually the food arrived and we still waited for the wine. The order for desert was taken including coffee we waited for another 1/2 hr we had to ask for the deserts which the kitchen had forgotten about. While we were waiting other people started to complain. The whole meal took just over 2 hrs. Sorry but Never again.

Awful! They seem to try and act superior, but it's not! The food was seriously over priced! Burger and chips 18.95!!!!! I ended up with just chips, due to prices and no dairy free options despite them saying there was? The chip were not cooked, sent back. Tables sticky! Would never go back!

We were working in the area and stopped here on two occasions for food. The pub itself looks fancy ( although they are now undergoing a refurb) the staff friendly and welcoming on arrival. The food however was very disappointing and definitely overpriced. Having chatted with locals to the area we were informed kitchen staff are mainly youngsters and most of their meals are microwaved, this was evident in the eating. Don’t be fooled by the decor, it is over priced and poor quality food.

Served by Dan and Daisy both were very attentive. Pizza was fab and Lamb was very flavourful. Would recommend and come again

Lovely visit to the Ashton yesterday!

There's nothing quite like ordering the most expensive burger you've ever had (£19) only for it to then arrive at the same time as the kids burger (£7.50) to then compare the two and realise quite how overpriced it is. You would assume for that price it could be a worthwhile venture but it arrives presented in basic fashion with zero flair, and nothing memorable of note in regards to flavour or taste. Very disappointing X

Very disappointed. Had a meal and a dessert, which did not come as specified on the menu and was quite overpriced for the cheap ingredients on the plate. Timothy Taylor's landlord on cask was cloudy and not the clear amber I expect from a cellar of a pub this caliber. Returned this evening for a drink with friends and was met with a lack of Guinness. The staff informed me that there was more Guinness but they were too busy to change it. Working in hospitality for many years I find this completely unacceptable, I could clearly see that there were enough staff present to handle the amount of customers, so whether the staff were untrained or not coping, I'm not sure. Either way The Ashton fell far behind my expectations for it's gorgeous decor and scenic location on the Aston Estate

I want to like it here so much, as it’s a great location, and a beautiful place, but time and time again the food takes forever to come out, the staff always look so rushed off their feet, food orders are incorrect, it’s SO pricey for the amount of food you actually get, which wouldn’t be so bad if it came out within a reasonable time frame. We’ve given it a go here a number of times, and we are always disappointed :( we’re just not sure what’s going so wrong behind the scenes. The waiter even said today the food took a while because we had starters - as if it was normal for there to be an hour between courses, our starters also took forever to come out in the first place. The staff look like they are doing the best they can in all fairness, but we won’t be going back.

Went here for food and was served by the wonderful Ellis very chatty and full of energy going through recommendations to eat and was not disappointed with Hank you Ellis
