The Ashley in Wyre

Went to a party here, loads of children at the venue so was an ideal size, the heating was on and the bar staff lovely. Great parking, wheelchair friendly a good large hall and bar.The staff were friendly and cheerful, I would go again.

Dj was good food was nice but not plentiful soon went. What was most off putting was the staff cleaning up half way through the party using the same Hoover to clean the tables, seating and the floor just going from one to the other not very hygienic have been to a few party's their but have never seen this before was made to feel like they couldn't wait to get you out no wonder people left early.

I am appalled at the ‘don’t care’ attitude expressed by Maria, the manager of The Ashley club. I booked a private party 2pm till 4pm on a Saturday afternoon for my son’s 9th laser tag birthday. I called into the Ashley personally to make the booking, explained that there would be 15 boys and a lot of parents who would like to stay and have a few beers. I watched Maria write it in the diary, asked if she wanted the deposit now (which she refused and told me to bring it on the day). I also doubled checked everything was still ok for the date a few weeks before and repeated my offer of dropping off the deposit prior to the event and was again told to bring it on the day. I arrived at 1pm to find the doors locked and no one answered either her mobile (switched off) or the Ashley official telephone number. I rang and knocked and started to panic. The birthday cake was delivered, the entertainer arrived and at 1.45pm. I had to take the party to a hurried plan B. How a responsible venue owner who does a lot of functions (we ourselves have had christenings and parties prior to this) could leave anyone without a venue at such short notice is beyond me. I have received no apologetic phone calls and no explanations. Poor attitude and poor service! The Ashley should be ashamed of itself!
