The Ashes in Maidstone

Great place to watch a game and have a few drinks, always have offers on drinks. Originally I'd said that the only minor improvement needed could be to have heat lamps in the smoking area however after the response from the owner I have had to adjust my review. Although they have heat lamps I was outside in the smoking area for roughly an hour a few days before christmas and I wasn't the only one feeling cold saying they could really use those heat lamps so maybe they weren't out? Or turned on? No one could see any lamps either or is there another smoking area apart from the area outside your entrance? Happy to correct this review as many times as necessary I want to be fair.

Food was good and had a nice atmosphere

First time visitors this evening. I purposely asked names of two people. Kate and reece who between them couldn't do more if they tried!! Both were conscientious and attentive literally the whole night. It was busy yet nothing was too much for either of them! Whatever they are being paid is not enough!!! Thank you both of you xxx

The only place worth watching sport in Maidstone and a beautiful size garden as well.

Popped in Saturday after watching Maidstone United play, had a great time, friendly atmosphere and great for watching sports a big 👍 from me!

A very pleasant centre of town sports bar.

Had to stop in here to make a phone call. Wish I hadn't. No atmosphere, no af options. Worker who barely spoke English pushing a mop around aggressively. Avoid.

Lively sports bar in the middle of town. Seemed OK but only stayed for a drink, bit of a younger crowd in there. Seemed like it could get abit rowdy although didn't witness or experience any trouble in the short time we were in there.

Awesome sports bar. So many screens with multiple events being shown. Really impressive.

We had a lovely evening in here on Saturday 27th May. We wanted somewhere that was playing the football. We found this bar and was literally going to watch the match then move on to another bar. When we walked in the bar staff were so friendly. They made us feel at ease straight away. we ended up staying here until we went back to our air Bnb. We didn’t want to go anywhere else. The manger is so lovely, she was so welcoming, the bouncers are a right laugh, they are so friendly. Honestly, if your looking for a good atmosphere and friendly people this is defo the place for you. Thank you all for making our very rare date night so special x x x we will defo be returning x x x x x

Dark and dingy pub, the pool tables left a lot yo be desired.

Not enough space around the pool tables to play properly,.choosing to play pool is a waste of money , might be good for a drink and whatching sports , i haven't stayed that long.

Was refused at the door for having scratches on my face. This was due to a car crash! Didn’t even bother asking how I got them!

Good place to watch sports with plenty of seating and screens to choose from. Shame they've got a very limited beer selection otherwise I'd probably go to watch more sport. You can get a decent pint of Guinness here, which is always a good thing. Beer garden out the back with screens so you can have a durry while not missing any of the action. Not bad a place at all though.

Good atmosphere fir west ham games

Went for a drink with a group of friends for a leaving do. The door staff were unnecessarily aggressive and mistook one of the party for being too drunk in their opinion. Once we had spoken to them we were allowed in. The music was absolutely deafening and extremely bad quality, there appeared to be an issue with the speakers. Once in the venue there were people who were so drunk they could barely stand up. It would appear that the bouncers were on an ego/power trip outside but did nothing to control the paralytic people inside the venue. Not somewhere I would ever go again. Very very poor quality bar even for Maidstone standards.

We accidently found this place whilst looking for a different bar for some drinks early on a Friday night. The staff were really friendly and welcoming - we'd never been before but didn't feel like outsiders at all. Football was shown on various screens around the bar, and there's a room full of pool tables too. Cocktails were 2 for £10, bombs were 4 for £10.

Loads of TVs if tou want to watch live sport!

Absolutely awful experience, have reserved a table for football, they didn't let us because we havent arrived 2h earlier prior football starting, have paid for tables to find out they sat someone else there, and being kicked out and sworn at by the owner and managers, and refusing to give my money back I paid for to reserve the tables. Awful experience.

Good sports bar with two pool tables and a large screen! Nice outdoor seating at the back (undercover and heated) and a small section outside at the front also. Quite a lively pub especially at weekends and stays open late!

Had a drink here to watch some football on a Friday evening. Although there was plenty of places to sit, there were only a few small TVs in HD. They had a terrible projector which was really blurry and made the game unwatchable. The drink selection was ok and there are pool tables in the back of the pub as well. I would only go here again to watch the football (or sports) if everywhere else was full.

Good venue but when you get threatened to have your throat slit with a beer bottle just because your football team is beating a rival team, and then it turns out the person who threatened you with the bottle actually is a member of the bar staff, yeah thanks anyway . Turns out that this is a regular occurrence when Liverpool play and the staff hope and pray Liverpool win so they avoid any confrontation from their Albanian clientele. Couldn't wait to get our of there .

Great atmosphere to watch the football. Spent most of the world cup there. Multiple Screens. Only negative is with the amount of people there the staff decided to say certain drinks (shots) couldn't be ordered at particular bars. This info was only received after 20 mins of queuing

Not my favourite place to drink in Maidstone but great for sports. One of those places I'd normally wipe my feet on the way out, sticky floors, awful music when DJ is in at weekend and pool tables have been missing balls or something when I've been in previously but if you just want somewhere to have a point and watch the football then this is the place to do so as it's usually always got something on the sports channel.

Great for sports beer pool and banter

I have watched quite a few matches at this bar. There is a good atmosphere for big games. I can't fault it save that the volume is usually set at an eardrum piercing level. Why not turn the volume down so that the commentary is still clearly and easily audible above the din but not so high as to cause physical discomfort? Please don't think I am the only one who thinks this as I have seen some of the bar staff grimace, on occasion, as the volume is turned up. Sorry, but lose two stars for this alone.

It's alright. Good place to watch sports.

This is an alright place to go watch the football with loads of screens and not bad smoking area with heaters, but not much of an atmosphere for a sports bar, and the bar staff seem to charge what they want, it was a different price almost every round for the same drinks, when asked why by my boyfriend a rather unpleasant girl behind the bar was rude, the beer isn't great and overall a bit of a clicky locals pub.

You have to spend over £7 before they let you pay by debit card is this legal? (Otherwise they'll charge you extra!)
