Newnham Court Inn - Pub & Grill in Maidstone

We came here for a birthday dinner and booked our table in advance. At first, I was confused as we had been seated upstairs and I had mentioned in our booking that we would be coming with a pram. However, the upstairs seating was much quieter and we had an area to ourselves which was lovely, especially with the children. The starters were amazing but the main courses were not as good as we had remembered them being a few months ago. I believe we were served by Kayleigh, who was absolutely amazing, engaged with the children so well and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout our meal.

Good service all round by staff lovely coffee and a delightful visit

Nice food. Plenty of parking. Reasonably priced (cheaper than Harvester). The only downside is sometimes the lighting is so low we struggle to read the menu.

Dog friendly pub. You can sit with your dog in the pub area. They have a lot of space indoors and same tables outside. Car park and wheel chair entrance. A few alcohol free drinks. Food and portions are good.

Worst Christmas dinner we’ve ever had. On the way in, we met a family who were just leaving complaining it was awful. I thought they were exaggerating. 2 hours worth of travel & £350 bill, I couldn’t have been more disappointed. First the wrong starters were brought out. When our starters were finally out, although looked lovely, they were cold. Mains were brought out - we all opted for the Christmas dinner (it was Christmas Day after all). Each plate was different so we ended up having to share sprouts etc. Potatoes were so pale I thought they were still frozen. Completely inedible. Yorkshire pudding was like elastic! Couldn’t cut through it. I couldn’t eat the veg it tasted like the whole thing had been microwaved or reheated many times. My mother was burnt TWICE by the lady bringing the food. Not even so much as an apology. Wrong desserts then brought out. I had a brownie with freezing cold custard in a pot next to it. The table next to us was already complaining about theirs being cold. I ate the brownie and just left the custard. The rest of the table had the Christmas pudding, which was a slither no bigger or thicker than my phone, with a white watery liquid in a pot next to it. Although the food was such a let down, our server was absolutely lovely I felt so sorry for her having to deal with everyone’s moaning. She did offer us a drink as an apology bless her, no one was drinking alcohol so a free coke didn’t really feel equal to spending £350 on inedible food, considering we had to order a pizza on the drive home on Christmas Day too. The place itself was nice though, and staff were very friendly.

The place is looking a bit tired needs a bit of a freshen up re design. but saying that you can not fault the food always Hot &value and service .

Claire always ensures we are looked after when we attend, funny professional and polite and is a major reason we always return along with all the other lovely staff, Claire again tonight went above and beyond with Ellie to make our family bday amazing . Held a funeral tea here, staff were wonderful, food was poor, the bread it's self was good, but sandwiches were dry and fell apart. The quiches were so soggy that the centre 4 inches was inedible. Potato salad, coleslaw, chips, and chicken bites were fine. Good atmosphere and so close to the crematorium.

I have now had the worst Christmas meal ever at Newnham court ; the restaurant was cold as they had no gas supply the food was cooked in microwave ;almost inedible ; I was presented with a bill for £150 ; this restaurant should be closed; Green King need to review this restaurant; advise not to attend even if you have booked until the gas supply is re connected

Nice Rustic atmosphere in this Greene King restaurant next to Notcutts shopping near Maidstone. Our party of 4 including 2 teenage hungry grandsons, enjoyed a selection of reasonably priced meals including a couple of tasty Rump Steaks. I have, in the past, found rump steak can be hit and miss in other "family" restaurants, but not so here. Very tasty meals for all. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We went for Sunday lunch. Two of our party had been before and found the food and service mediocre. Today our server was Katie O and she couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Always good value for money here

Despite looking shabby outside, we had chicken and bacon ciabatta which was very nice, hot and full of filling. We were there just after 11.30 so it was very quiet.

I had went to the Newham court inn, with my girlfriend and a friend for a catch up with some food and drink.. walking into the venue it was clean and a nice welcoming atmosphere… we was promptly seated by a lady called emily who was very polite and told us about any deals that was on. We had the chicken shared starter which was nice and quite filling, you could have this as a main. Followed by some burgers .. the food was hot and nice portion sizes, we was asked by our waitress if we had room for desserts which we said “we will have a look, have a look”👀 .. my girlfriend and i shared a brownie which i mainly ate as she was stuffed.. we then proceeded to the bar area which was a nice relaxing area to have a couple of more drinks before getting a taxi home. Nice pub, lovely staff and welcoming atmosphere will come again.

Booked a 15th birthday dinner at this restaurant and the staff where excellent. Emily went above and beyond with the planning and organising it and the table looked fantastic when we arrived which was very special. The food was delicious and my steak was cooked perfectly. I cannot thank the whole team enough for a truly special celebration.

I find it strange today that when you go to a restaurant early evening 5ish you wait to be seated look around at the empty tables, then when a member of staff do arrive your asked have you booked in our case no only to be told no tables available in restaurant but can sit in the bar area near to door and 2 fruit machines. The burger was nice though.

Scampi and Chips - you could of counted the chips which came with the scampi. If it came on the '2 for £20' I could of understood a smaller meal but obviously we didn't have the required drinks. Mac'n'cheese was good which my mum enjoyed. Will try elsewhere in the future in case the same situation occurs.

Loving the revamp here. Haven’t been for some time, & I’m pleased to say the menu has changed & the new staff are great. Felt very welcome, beer prices very reasonable too. Forgot to take pics though 🫣

Eveyrhing about the place was average. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins.

Family meal, catered for almost 50 of us... Absolutely first class service, couldn't do enough for us. Tipped the table staff £40 and still felt they deserved more. Excellent rib eye and great quality entrees ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👌🏽

We have become frequent visitors to this restaurant over the last couple of years and have yet to have a bad experience. You do of course get what you pay for it is not a la carte or the ritz but if you keep that in mind there is no disappointment. My Husband and son often have the Tomahawk and it's always been brilliant, cooked to their liking and on par with any Miller and Carter they have had. Service is efficient and food always comes out hot. Recently, at short notice they accommodated a table of 15 of us. I was expecting a few hiccups but there were absolutely none! The staff excelled themselves, accommodating, friendly service, all orders 100% correct and food enjoyed by all. Thank You to the Newnham court team.

When we got are food the plat, cutlery and glasses was drirty. The food was cold. When we got there the stuff was all talking and sitting down.

Good service and well prepared and presented food. Not rushed. Pleasant atmosphere, not spectacular. Plenty of space for our table and not rushed to move on.

I attended on the 10th had fish, jacket potatoe and peas. Few hours later, I had food poisoning. Other than that, the service was pleasant and were more than happy to accommodate substitutions to the meal

The best greene king pub I've ever been to in terms of quality of food. The staff are very welcoming and the service is great. I'm not sure why this place isn't more busy than it is.

Booked out the function room for a retirement party, 26 people attended and the staff were incredible. Emily organised the booking and helped on the day to make things run smoothly, incredible customer service. The food was delicious, they allowed everyone to pay for their orders individually at the bar (rare in most places) and did it all with smiles on their faces, a lovely place for a family event. #TheRegulatorGuy

As a purveyor of anything food and drink I have to say that this establishment is a cut above the rest right down to the fine upholstery and rustic solid oak bar this place just oozes character and charm further more I would like to add that me and mother shall be returning again as we were both pleasantly surprised Thank you for all your hard work

Hello, just wanted to say what a wonderful establishment the Fayre and Square is, staff are always friendly and accommodating, the food is wonderful and the premises is just wow! Have been coming here for years and I’ve never been disappointed! Waitress today was incredibly friendly, cheerful and bubbly! I completely forgot to ask her name before writing this review! All I know is she has worked at the pub for 6 years or so, as she said earlier! Just wanted to say thank you so much for being so lovely and cheerful! 🙌

This chain pub/restaurant is owned by Green King so it has some good deals on food. It's a large venue and has a ground floor and upstairs area. The seating is comfortable and not crowded together. I had a starter for my main course which was a sharing platter of carrots chicken items with onion rings,corn on the cob and coleslaw. All was cooked nicely and I just about made it through the generous portion The car park is very large and it's free. The pub is next door to a huge garden centre with other retail businesses also attached.

I really like the food in here and the service is good, but the last couple of times I've been in here the tables are dirty and sticky like they haven't been cleaned at all.

Great place to come and have a bite to eat, good plates and sizes on meals. And very good prices 😁. Friendly and professional staff.

We booked the room for our mum's celebration of life. With a buffet selection. Everything was ready, food etc, on arrival so we weren't disturbed and could enjoy our reflection time. The buffet was an ample size and plenty was leftover which we boxed up and took with us. A very reasonable price, compared to other venues in the area.

It was a quiet Tuesday night, so not busy enough to generate a special atmosphere, understandably. Food and service excellent, so yet again this place will be on my short list.

Changed the menu so you get less food for more money. Wanted to change something on our shared starter as we didn't like it but was just told No! So it seems they don't care about food waste.. won't be back.

Great Ultimate Burger, great service reasonably priced

Have eaten here a few times and food is always very good value for money. We ate on a busy Saturday night. Staff were cheerful and efficient. We were advised on arrival that they were one staff member short and busy but it did not impact on our experience at all.

Good cheap pub food, with good service and a fairly tidy interior

Very average pub grub , soggy chips with everything and with everything being frozen ready meals (although prices were top end - expensive for what it was).Table was sticky and cutlery grubby. Saving grace was the waitress who was friendly and chatty.

Food is good The cheaper menu that stops at 17.00 has limited choice but is really good value

What a sticky, dirty pub.. wouldn't eat as you'd stick to the tables.. never again.. filthy!

Had a quick drink on a sunny day

Took Grandchildren there for lunch on a Saturday. Wasn't too busy in pub but we sat in beer garden. Service was good and food really nice.

I have been to this pub/restaurant many time and I love it. The food is sometimes better than others but overall it is very good value for the money.

Food was awful, roast potatoes weren't even roasted, veg was nearly raw and the beef was full of grissle and fat! All only lukewarm.

3 of us were acknowledged by a member of staff that we wanted a table so we're moved to one side til member of staff returned to desk. In that time 2 other customers came in went to desk and were seated immediately and we were left still waiting, it was clear they were known to some of the colleagues and received priority treatment at which point we walked out and went elsewhere. Bearing in mind my wife is disabled and finds it hard to stand to long periods with her walking stick

Staff were great, attentive when needed, food was good and pudding delicious.

Average service and great prices. Food usually tasty for a mid range kind of pub.

Upon entering the restaurant me and my colleague were greeted in a very friendly manner by a very happy lady (Claire). The weather outside was miserable but the service we received by Claire completely changed our mood. This woman deserves a lot of credit as this is one place I will be returning to! What an asset to your company.

Had a lovely morning doing the Easter egg hunt with friends and family. The staff put so much effort into it and all for a great cause! Friendly staff and amazing with children. Highly recommend as the kids had so much fun finding all of the eggs. The breakfast was delicious too! 5 🌟

We visited the pub this morning as a family for the Easter egg hunt. It was awesome! Staff were so lovely and the kids won an Easter egg and more chocolate treats each. Would recommend.
