wow food amazing loved the chicken fajitas. can't wait to go back. staff super helpful and friendly.

We have become frequent visitors to this restaurant over the last couple of years and have yet to have a bad experience. You do of course get what you pay for it is not a la carte or the ritz but if you keep that in mind there is no disappointment. My Husband and son often have the Tomahawk and it's always been brilliant, cooked to their liking and on par with any Miller and Carter they have had. Service is efficient and food always comes out hot. Recently, at short notice they accommodated a table of 15 of us. I was expecting a few hiccups but there were absolutely none! The staff excelled themselves, accommodating, friendly service, all orders 100% correct and food enjoyed by all. Thank You to the Newnham court team.

When we got are food the plat, cutlery and glasses was drirty. The food was cold. When we got there the stuff was all talking and sitting down.

Good service and well prepared and presented food. Not rushed. Pleasant atmosphere, not spectacular. Plenty of space for our table and not rushed to move on.

I attended on the 10th had fish, jacket potatoe and peas. Few hours later, I had food poisoning. Other than that, the service was pleasant and were more than happy to accommodate substitutions to the meal

The best greene king pub I've ever been to in terms of quality of food. The staff are very welcoming and the service is great. I'm not sure why this place isn't more busy than it is.

As a purveyor of anything food and drink I have to say that this establishment is a cut above the rest right down to the fine upholstery and rustic solid oak bar this place just oozes character and charm further more I would like to add that me and mother shall be returning again as we were both pleasantly surprised Thank you for all your hard work

Booked out the function room for a retirement party, 26 people attended and the staff were incredible. Emily organised the booking and helped on the day to make things run smoothly, incredible customer service. The food was delicious, they allowed everyone to pay for their orders individually at the bar (rare in most places) and did it all with smiles on their faces, a lovely place for a family event. #TheRegulatorGuy

Hello, just wanted to say what a wonderful establishment the Fayre and Square is, staff are always friendly and accommodating, the food is wonderful and the premises is just wow! Have been coming here for years and I’ve never been disappointed! Waitress today was incredibly friendly, cheerful and bubbly! I completely forgot to ask her name before writing this review! All I know is she has worked at the pub for 6 years or so, as she said earlier! Just wanted to say thank you so much for being so lovely and cheerful! 🙌

This chain pub/restaurant is owned by Green King so it has some good deals on food. It's a large venue and has a ground floor and upstairs area. The seating is comfortable and not crowded together. I had a starter for my main course which was a sharing platter of carrots chicken items with onion rings,corn on the cob and coleslaw. All was cooked nicely and I just about made it through the generous portion The car park is very large and it's free. The pub is next door to a huge garden centre with other retail businesses also attached.

I really like the food in here and the service is good, but the last couple of times I've been in here the tables are dirty and sticky like they haven't been cleaned at all.

Great place to come and have a bite to eat, good plates and sizes on meals. And very good prices 😁. Friendly and professional staff.

We booked the room for our mum's celebration of life. With a buffet selection. Everything was ready, food etc, on arrival so we weren't disturbed and could enjoy our reflection time. The buffet was an ample size and plenty was leftover which we boxed up and took with us. A very reasonable price, compared to other venues in the area.

It was a quiet Tuesday night, so not busy enough to generate a special atmosphere, understandably. Food and service excellent, so yet again this place will be on my short list.

Changed the menu so you get less food for more money. Wanted to change something on our shared starter as we didn't like it but was just told No! So it seems they don't care about food waste.. won't be back.

Great Ultimate Burger, great service reasonably priced

Have eaten here a few times and food is always very good value for money. We ate on a busy Saturday night. Staff were cheerful and efficient. We were advised on arrival that they were one staff member short and busy but it did not impact on our experience at all.

Good cheap pub food, with good service and a fairly tidy interior

Very average pub grub , soggy chips with everything and with everything being frozen ready meals (although prices were top end - expensive for what it was).Table was sticky and cutlery grubby. Saving grace was the waitress who was friendly and chatty.

Food is good The cheaper menu that stops at 17.00 has limited choice but is really good value

What a sticky, dirty pub.. wouldn't eat as you'd stick to the tables.. never again.. filthy!

Had a quick drink on a sunny day

Took Grandchildren there for lunch on a Saturday. Wasn't too busy in pub but we sat in beer garden. Service was good and food really nice.

Good was ok. It was a shame done of the lunch menu items couldn't exist on the main menu. It was like a spoons, but more expensive

I have been to this pub/restaurant many time and I love it. The food is sometimes better than others but overall it is very good value for the money.

Food was awful, roast potatoes weren't even roasted, veg was nearly raw and the beef was full of grissle and fat! All only lukewarm.

Really enjoyable family meal for my birthday here yesterday. Great service. Tasty, freshly prepared food well presented. Good atmosphere. Fantastic kid-friendly restaurant.

The place is looking a bit tired needs a bit of a spring freshen up but saying that you can not fault the food and service .

Staff were great, attentive when needed, food was good and pudding delicious.

3 of us were acknowledged by a member of staff that we wanted a table so we're moved to one side til member of staff returned to desk. In that time 2 other customers came in went to desk and were seated immediately and we were left still waiting, it was clear they were known to some of the colleagues and received priority treatment at which point we walked out and went elsewhere. Bearing in mind my wife is disabled and finds it hard to stand to long periods with her walking stick

Upon entering the restaurant me and my colleague were greeted in a very friendly manner by a very happy lady (Claire). The weather outside was miserable but the service we received by Claire completely changed our mood. This woman deserves a lot of credit as this is one place I will be returning to! What an asset to your company.

Not been here for about seven years, yep, still like the place, good food, fast efficient service, nothing to fault.

We visited the pub this morning as a family for the Easter egg hunt. It was awesome! Staff were so lovely and the kids won an Easter egg and more chocolate treats each. Would recommend.

Had a lovely morning doing the Easter egg hunt with friends and family. The staff put so much effort into it and all for a great cause! Friendly staff and amazing with children. Highly recommend as the kids had so much fun finding all of the eggs. The breakfast was delicious too! 5 🌟

Ultimate Burger was tasty and great value

Terrible food on Sunday 24th March, hard Brocolli and undercooked roast potatoes, all dishes were luke warm.

No complaints here, quick service. Me and the missus were in and out in about half an hour with food. Lovely looking place. Plenty of room and a large beer garden. The burger I had was absolutely delicious and I would definitely recommend it. Hunters chicken went down well too. Polite friendly staff. We've never stopped here but would visit again.

Ordered food for collection just for it to be cancelled a couple of hours before collection. Waste of time

Came here for Sunday lunch and wasnt disappointed roast dinner was very big and plenty of it on the plate and the chicken fajitas were amazing was told I could add a 4oz bit of steak to fajitas and glad I did, staff very helpful and nothing was to much trouble even though they were very busy. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back

Ordered a 12oz rump steak, medium rare. Was given a 4 inch square of meat that was as thick as a burger. Waitress was swift in taking it back to the kitchen and represented a steak of adequate quality. Companions steak was blue and had been ordered medium rare. I was disappointed with the meat quality overall. Not going to be on my return list.

Very nice place. Plenty of parking. Excellent service. We hadnt booked but really people should book so they know how many chefs to take on. Good shops and garden centre nearby.

One steak was more burger than 12oz rump and ribeye was closer to blue than medium rare. Thankfully my companion was and is perfect.

My partner and I have frequented this eatery a few times over the years but have got to say this was not the same experience we usually get. Was welcomed well by a young lady and our order was taken well but the lady who bought the food out to us basically threw it at us, the presentation of the food was very poor and portion sizes different cannot understand that considering we both had the same meal. It was quite a busy time but that does not mean standards have to drop, we constantly hear that hospitality is suffering and with these kinds of standards you can see why. With this experience we probably will not be visiting this particular Greene King again.

I have just received a pop up email recommending this place for food - here is my view on this place The place was fairly quiet when arrived with my party of 5 and we were seated promptly by waiting staff and upon seated we were given drink and food menu - the waitress who was to serve us gave us her name and said she would return soon for our order. The waitress returned and took our drinks order which promptly arrived very quickly. The waitress then took our food order - my husband and son in law chose the mixed grill and upon the Waitress recommendation they upgraded for the matter of a few pounds. The food arrived very promptly which surprised us. The waitress offered us no sauces - just walked away. At no time during our meal did the waitress come back to check if our meal was good or to offer a drinks top up. My husband and son in law's mixed grill was a mixture of awfulness - the steak was so tough it was not edible, my daughter had Chicken Fajitas which was three quarters onions with 4 pieces of Chicken, my other daughter had Mac -n- Cheese which was so bland and my fish was burnt at both ends. No wonder the food arrived quickly. And no wonder the waitress did not ask us if our food was okay! Our first visit and our last!

Food was good as always and service was excellent too! I had the steak sandwich and it was worth every penny, steak was cooked well and I was positively stuffed afterwards!

Car meeting . It was ok. There's many places like this. Plenty of parking which was good.

I had mac n cheese. It was awful. Glutenous horrible sauce...i think from a packet. I left it! Not that i wanted a fuss BUT the waitress just took it without a word....like she could have said.. "was that ok" "sorry you didn't like it"! I meet my friend from the coast as its half.. i will find somewhere else now!

Always get a reasonably priced good meal here. Parking no problem. Service is always good

Very disappointed, all seemed well when we turned up, plenty of parking, although maybe that should of been a clue, were seated very quickly and the serving staff were fairly quick to take the drinks order. The food arrived in a timely manner and that's about all the good things I can say. The waitress was sullen and not at all friendly, she took the order and that was the last we saw of her, until it was time to pay, even though we wanted more drinks, My Father-in-law and I both had the mixed grill, we were encouraged, by the waitress, to upgrade, we did, The Steak was so tough I couldn't eat it. The chicken was dry and the Sausage was like eating carboard it was so bland. I had to leave the gammon as it was dry and tasteless. My Sister-in-law had the Chicken Fajitas, there were 4 small pieces of chicken and the rest of the plate was onions. My Mother-in-law's Fish was burned and My Wife's Mac-n-Cheese was so bland she could hardly eat it. We paid and left, and then got hit with a bill a good 20% above that of any comparable restaurant. So disappointed, and will not be returning. *Update* Was contacted by a very nice person and Green King and they have chatted to me about the problems, say they will retrain and we will be trying again. I will report back here when we have.

We only stopped in for a coffee on a cold day. The place was busy so obviously quite a few people like it. Coffee was fine but not the best I've ever had. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Came here for my mums birthday and the food was absolutely amazing. 3 of us had the roasts and 1 had gammon, it's was beautiful, service was good and we definitely will be coming back, thank you.

Christmas dinner with work colleagues, the mushroom in creamy cheese sauce was very tasty and not heavy for a starter, the Christmas dinner large potion, roast potatoes, carrots,peas, broccoli, parsnips,stuffing,pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding,turkey gravy very filling cooked to perfection apple crumble and custard. Amazing place staff were polite and courteous would highly recommend to go and have a lovely meal

Irish family of 5 visiting this venue for the 2nd time. Definitely recommend price point quality and service tics all the boxes. In fact I would say they stretch the limits on quality as we experienced much worse more expensive with horrific service

Went with a group of 14, for the three course Christmas lunch …… excellent value, tasty starters, the main roast dinner was great - plenty of tender Turkey, with all trimmings, vegetables cooked perfectly and piping hot. We were all served quickly, efficiently and with good humour as there were a few last minute changes which were taken in their stride. Great desserts too 😊

I recently celebrated my 21st here, with my whole family coming together. It was truly lovely. We had a whole private room of tables, pictures and a TV for ourselves. There were enough seats for all of us, our drinks and our selected food all came out right and on time. My food was delicious, my beer was refreshing. We were all happy, and I had an amazing night being with my loved ones. They really made me feel special and my 21st celebration special. If you're trying to find somewhere to celebrate your 21st, or if you just want a nice place to have dinner. Come here!

Nice atmosphere good service busy for a Monday lunch time.

Family of three just dropped in on way past. Never tried before but was quite impressed. The staff were really lovely and helpful and just came across as enjoying their job

We had a perfect dinner here on our last night at Maidstone. Service was fantastic and the food was great! Really good value for money, especially the cocktails and alcohol. We were very happy and highly recommend this place. Staff were super friendly and very helpful as well.

Thought we would try here for lunch. We didn't have a reservation and were seated in the bar area which has regular tables and highchairs etc so all good. Ordered food, which came quickly and was very tasty. 2 adult meals and 1 child. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was nice and chilled with great food. Will definitely be returning.

Good food and service at good prices

The waitress was nice the food I ordered was cold, I ordered the steak and fries and my food came out cold. The waitress sent it back and they sent another steak with fat chips and not fries like I ordered.. and the peppercorn sauce was only enough to fill a teaspoon. Wouldn’t eat from there again, avoid please.

It's a Greene king chain pub and it's lovely inside, bit bar and pub area also a restaurant side, affordable eating for a family meal out

Very busy, lots of young families so was very noisy , maybe to go later in day not around lunchtime

The booking was easy, the greeting we received could have been better, maybe the girl was having an off day. The waitress Shareen was lovely, always had a smile when we spoke, very pleasant.

I was really disappointed, the vegetables were awful (peas rock hard, broccoli was basically mush so were the carrots) we ordered a side dish of cauliflower cheese which was undercooked cauliflower with cream poured over the top no seasoning-inedible. The Yorkshire pudding was basically a flat pancake with gravy poured all over it which made it even more soggy ( again inedible) room temperature gravy was poured all over the food which I think should come on the side because by the time our food came out everything was soggy including the roast potatoes. The meat was okay and the atmosphere was nice so it’s a shame the food wasn’t good at all. We weren’t table checked once. This all came to over 40£ and I went home hungry and had to cook dinner.

Lovely meal. Few little hiccups with the bill as those of us picking from the cheaper lunch menu, got charged full price for several main courses and deserts. Quickly remedied though.

I frequently attend funeral wakes here for the services that I hold at the crematorium. I've even held funeral services in Newnham court itself. It's a great location with excellent food, a good atmosphere and friendly staff.
