Sarah and Colin screamed at me and my friend when playing pool saying we were fighting when we weren’t and then started screaming at others so everyone left and they had no customers

Good to see food coming back to the Argyll. The wife and I tried some burgers from the new menu and we were very impressed. I had the chicken burger and it was moist and full of flavour. My wife had the beef burger and bacon and was impressed. Her burger was ever so slightly over done but really good non the less. I think we were amongst the first to get food from the new menu now available on a Friday and we will definitely be back for more. The karaoke was just starting up and had we both not already had very long days we would definitely be staying to enjoy the rest of the evening.

Came in to watch the rugby with some friends, had a nice couple of drinks and enjoyed the match. Went to order food and was told that there was only one menu! There was a large table of 10 people using the menu, so took a while to order. Food, when we got to order it was good and would eat here again for a cheap and cheerful bite. Decor is very dated and definitely needs a refresh to say the least

We visited in a Saturday night whilst supporting a young lady with autism. The pub was very welcoming and the staff were fantastic. We all had a meal which was great value. The live music from Safehouse was great and we all had lovely time. Would definitely recommend.

Popped in for a drink and first time visit due to recently moving to the area. This pub was quiet in the afternoon, also badly in need of modernisation. This pub is still in the mahogany mode era and brass. Apparently they do a Sunday carvery but haven’t tried it yet.

Haven't been here for years despite living locally. Called in Sunday at 13.30, plenty of tables available. Table wiped clean by member of staff as soon as we sat down, bar staff pleasant, good service. Ordered standard buffet which a good price and decent standard. Lady carving meats was not busy but was really ignorant, no idea of customer service. Enjoyed meal and drinks, plates removed as soon as we finished our meals and we were asked if we wanted a pudding. Apart from one member of staff, very good service. Will use this pub again.

Sunday carvery is such good value for money at a fiver. Burgers here are freshly made and not from the freezer. Top quality food, friendly staff and big projector for the footie

We both enjoyed the burgers that were served, tasted really fresh! Price was very reasonable and couldn't fault it. Although I'm not much of a burger person, I will be having them again. Very impressed :)

We went to the Argyll today as they have launched a new burger menu allowing you to decide from top to bun how you want your burger. The Argyll is our local and we mostly visit in the early evening after a day at work for some refreshment and food. The old menu didn't suit all of our family so we often dined without my wife's daughter as she couldn't find anything she liked. At other places we visit When we visit she often finds a fully stacked burger and then went for "no cheese, no salad, no sauce etc", anyone with kids knows this story. The beauty of the new menu is you start with the most basic choices and work your way up adding as few or as many extras as you want until you have designed your ideal meal. The burgers we ordered were really tasty and enjoyed by all of our group (fussy one included). The menu is very reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and the range of drinks gave us plenty to choose from. We couldn't manage a dessert as we were full from our burgers. Would we go back? Oh yes.

In the surrounding area of the Argyle bar and carvery in Eastham are restaurants that live on past glories and how. How refreshing it was to find this haven of how things used to be. Some of the prices for food and drinks in this area are dearer than good restaurants we've eaten at in London. For £3.95 we had a carvery Hoss Cartright would have had trouble shifting. Piping hot as much as you like two oven cooked meats five different veg, bring it on. One criticism the chef was a bit heavy handed and the meat could have been a bit thinner. Hey!some people are never satisfied . Give it a whirl you won't be disappointed trust me. Thanks to all concerned ,see you soon.

The food was nice, gammon and turkey were the only choices and neither are a winner for me, very, very reasonable price. The food quality was good but the meat choice and only 1 Yorkshire pudding let it down for me. The pub itself isn't very nice very old and not the cleanest but I'll definitely be going again for a roast when hungover. 8/10 for food 5/10 for settings

Have not been to this pub for a long time but had heard good things about the sunday roast. It was a very good price ,choice of three meats turkey, beef and gammon. Choice of four fresh veg(not frozen)Yorkshire pud and a cranbury stuffing as much as u want and hot.The staff were very friendly.Perhaps the only fault is the service was a little slow at the carvery counter but in the end that did not matter as food was good.We will be going there again.

Not been to this pub for a while but we decided to call in on Sunday for lunch, staff were friendly and the pub was clean. The food isn't the best quality money can buy, but when you are paying £3.50 you get what you pay for. The food was great fresh & hot and the gravy was made with the meat juice so that was great. I will be going mire often.

As the title suggests if you do this is exactly what it's like. For "local people" even staff walk past you to serve a regular shocking and it's expensive
