The Arches Coffee Lounge in Selby

I am a regular customer in the coffee lounge...or I was until today...the manageress'nails are disgusting. Fake over grown with gunge behind them .also comments on social media her customers look horrendous fake wrinkly and pasty...she really isn't very nice...Will not be going back .!!!!!!!

Ordered an English breakfast, I was so disappointed, it was swimming in grease, egg yolks were broken, it just looked a complete mess, and to top it off ,I was charged £2.85 for a can of Coke, when I realised how much it was, they gave me my money back ,and was told it was due to the sugar tax on it, that’s why it’s that price. What a load of rubbish.

Amazing quality & value. We popped in for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday & the place was full but the service was super quick, once we had placed our order. We had the steak pie & it was absolutely gorgeous, with real suet pastry & the beef dripping gravy was to die for. I don't know how you do it for the price? A huge huge well done to all the team, we will be back.

Ordered Quiche I received something like a custard tart with tomatoes in, it was REALLY awful I was too embarrassed for them / for me to complain, I was so hungry I ate a quarter before my taste buds kicked in.. Chips and salad were bog standard (cba to do yourself, so acceptable). Another day I would have complained.

Called for early lunch ,the place was busy, a good sign l suppose. After finding a seat we ordered food . Pie,chips and veg. Tasty but the pie crust was hard baked . The place itself was quite cold. I guess money saving comes to mind. Will no doubt call again I'm sure.

My husband, granddaughter and I popped in to the Arches for lunch today. Pleasant though it was I was disappointed that having selected a chicken sandwich from the menu I was told "We haven't sold chicken for years". I suggested that maybe they should take it off their menu then, to which the lady said, "then we'd have to reprint and laminate all the menus" !!!!!! This mammoth task would have probably been no more than 20 menus at a stretch. Obviously never heard of a permanent marker or tippex either.

Lunch was brilliant again, good portions, I always have the steak pie with chips and veg, my daughter changes every time today she had jacket potato with tuna it was so big, and they always accommodate my granddaughter she had 2sausages and some of my chips as there is always to much for me, the staff are lovely always make us feel very welcome.

Visited on sunday and had our first turkey lunch. Very, very nice indeed. Everything beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are always so friendly and cannot do enough to make your visit a pleasure. Will definitely be back next week for our lunch.

Super choices for meat eaters, lots of steak in the pies alongside freshly prepared vegetables. Very limited choices for vegetarians, which is a shame as there is so much scope.

A lovely place to have a snack, meal or coffee with friends. a good all round menu friendly staff. Lift to cafe if needed

very good but got very busy . i was there at 12.00 on a wednesday. and it was busy . but well worth it . friendly helpful staff

Lovely shop with a very nice restaurant offering lots of choices on there menus,good prices as well.had the roast beef dinner & one jacket spud as well.meal was very nice.we enjoyed our meals.nice lattes.helpfull staff very friendly.

Great well cooked breakfast. Polite and Friendly service. Great place to relax during any week day morning.

We discovered this cafe wanting a mix of different foods within our group. We all managed to find something to eat and drink that we enjoyed. Even though some food had run out later on a Saturday there was still many choices of food available. The staff were all friendly and we found the service quite fast.

The service was a little slow to say the least. It said at least a 20 minute wait for hot food. I waited at least that before getting served and it wasn’t that busy. The place is a little dated but clean. The coffee was from a bean to cup machine but was nice.

The family and I have been coming to The Arches Coffee Lounge for many years and it has always been a pleasure visiting here. The meals / food on offer are always superb, very reasonably priced, good portion sizes, well presented and delicious.The Coffee Lounge has a lovely atmosphere and all the staff are always smartly dressed, helpful, jolly and courteous.

Highly recommend, they provide soft gluten free rolls, I have had chips, bean, two eggs which was gluten free. Very nice, portion could have been a bit bigger, but I do have a good appetite. Husband had steak pie which he really enjoyed

Lovely coffee shop above a small popular department store. Extensive range of meals to buy hot and cold. Very friendly staff . Can get quite busy.
