From Bordon, Hampshire, twice we have been there and twice it was an execellent experience. Very busy place (Saturday lunch time), very welcoming staff, excellent servings / portions, good range of menu choices and fairly quick service. We went on our bike and had no trouble to park very close, however, using a car not as easy but with available parking nearby on the road along the promenade. Overall an excellent experience and would highly recommend.

I had the king prawns with rice and salad. The menu didn't say that they would be whole king prawns, very awkward to eat. They tasted good though. Salad was OK but very boring as very little dressing. All in all the food was very plain.

I don't think this great Restaurant will ever be the same again after a coachload of pensioners growing old disgracefully descended on them on a Tuesday in early September. Only two staff on this particular day but it did not delay the delivery of nicely prepared hot food. My friends had sardines with a salad and rolls (their verdict was 'delicious). I had the ubiquitous fish and chips ... really top class. Highly recommended clean restaurant with friendly staff and ambience. View of the Pier and a little of the sea.

I could not fault this restaurant! The waiter was cheerful and helpful. To my surprise, because I am elderly, there was a discount on the menu! I chose cod, chips and mushy peas. This was accompanied by a selection of sauces and a slice of lemon. I had a good portion of cod, cooked to perfection as were the chips. I just wish I had this restaurant near me!! Thank you restaurant staff for making my day special!

Best seafood in Worthing, we are never dissapointed, fish is always fresh, tasty and the waitors are friendly and welcoming. This is my regular place for fish and chips or if I want to splash out on the lobster, this is THE place.

Quick lunch before leaving the area and heading home after a weekend away. What a gem ! The restaurant is lovely and clean etc, the service is great and the food was fresh and fabulous. We had the gilled octopus and the grilled sea bream, 10/10, felt like I was back in Greece. A few other people were having traditional fish and chips and this looked really good too.

A no-frills restaurant next to the beach (you can't see the sea though whilst seated). They also serve steak and a few other non-seafood dishes.

A great value, down to earth and friendly place to eat fish and chips and plenty of other options on the seafront.

We were on a day out with our Darby &Joan club. Although the restaurant was very busy we didn't have to wait to long to be served. The fish was lovely as was the chips and the mushy peas. I had the Haddock and my four friends had the cod meal deal which included a dessert. Would definitely recommend this restaurant 👌 I also had a lovely large glass of white wine.

Worthing is my.home town, always come here when visiting , food is superb quality , fish is like Jonah and the service is great. Love this place

Stop by for lunch on a 3 day stay in the area, it was superb, so much so we came back on the 3rd day. The prices are very reasonable and the food was good. I had the plaice during our first visit it was very nice the batter was light and crunchy with some amazing fries while my partner on both occasions enjoyed their Rib-eye steak again served with fries the salad that comes with it was pretty standard.

Food was 10/10. Portions were great. Service was great. The only thing I would change is dom the lights and put a candle on the tables and it would be amazing but that a bit nit picky tbh. Absolutely fantastic

Had the Scallop and the grilled Seabass Was delightful&delish Friendly service and reasonable charged.

Really nice restaurant. I had the haddock and chips what was so fresh and light batter very nice and my wife had the grilled sea bream and was also lovely. The waitress and all staff was very nice and accommodating to our little baby boy we are definitely going back especially looking at other people’s food that they had lol.

Dine here today and would highly recommend their pasta. Freshly cooked fish and chips as well. The place is spacious as well for our little ones, and also got plenty of options for kids menu.🙂

Very nice restaurant, had air conditioning on hot days, and was very facilitating to my family of 4

Was taking a walk from West Worthing to Worthing and getting a bit peckish. Since I love fish, so thought to give this venue a go. It has a very nice setting overlooking the Worthing pier. And though it was a warm day, the indoor seating has AC (you can sit outside too). The food we had was great, and for me who really likes Whitebait the whitebait here was the best I've had so far. The calamari was also very nice, not overly cooked and lightly battered. The other two were happy with their food also. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

My wife and I popped in here on a Saturday afternoon for fish and chips. I cannot find any fault at all with the meal and the service was great too.

We chose this restaurant as it looked clean and was always busy, it looked very popular. Had delicious cod and chips for a reasonable price. My son had a chicken burger which he said was delicious. Service was good. Would highly recommend.

Warm welcome, polite, really clean restaurant (opposite pier), food perfect and came quick. Even fresh flowers on the table. 😘 Lot of food for the price. Defenitly worth going!

WOW ..What an amazing find. 44 clients and staff from Kingston Eco-op were fed and watered in this amazing restaurant in under an hour...never mind the other customers they were also serving. Addy & his crew know how to look after their customers and every meal was cooked from fresh, the fish was outstanding and the chips cooked to perfection. We will definitely recommend to everyone and be back. Thank you so much.

This is a fabulous restaurant found by chance. Affordable and delicious food - superb Greek salad for only £5 - really warm and genuine service and would really recommend.

Delightful restaurant in worthing, very clean and speedy service. Welcoming staff and attentive. Particularly Marta was lovely to speak to. The food was fresh and well cooked, risotto al dente, whitebait, crispy and not overloaded with oiliness. A good variety of food too. Definitely worth a visit

Our food took about 30 minutes to arrive. The pasta was overcooked and the dish was too much oily. Additionally, we didn't like the wine. And also the grilled octopus was excellent. We highly recommend it.

Located across Worthing Pavilion. I was sat outsife enjoying the sea breeze. Very quick service. Theya accept card payments. It was a recommendation to have haddock because it has an intense flavour. Batter was very crispy. Fish was not dry. It was light, flaky and juicy. Chips, solid. Mushy peas - good flavour. The tartare sauce was good. Thry gave me vinegar and salt too. Perfect combo.

Decent food, nice place to eat...

I am not a fan of fish restaurants but 4 of us chose this restaurant to try out, what a good choice. Don’t be put off by the review by Gary J, he must be a total grump, well worth the 4 and 5 star reviews by others. Very friendly helpful staff, good quality food, good service, what is there to complain about, loverly views of the pier, centre of town, not too noisy even when packed as it was on Thursday, best to reserve a table at lunch to avoid disappointment. It is on our list to visit again. From a Worthing resident.

My husband and I decided to visit The Arcades restaurant (travelling 49 miles from Surrey) on a sunny Sunday, on recommendation from a friend who had already been. We emailed to book a table ( although not necessary) and Tilly arranged that for us. On arrival, we were greeted by many friendly faces who made us feel welcome and gave us a choice of tables. The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated and very clean including the toilets. We ordered from a good choice on the menu, food arrived reasonably quickly and we were served by a lovely waitress. The food was amazing! Best fish and chips we've had in a long time and reasonably priced. We had a lovely experience here and we will definitely return with our kids next time. Thank you.

This place really knows how to make feel comfortable in fact 5 stars well deserved to the front of house.. however the octopus was seriously overlooked same for the pasta linguine ai frutti di mare...

Have been here many times and food has been excellent. However ordered over 60's meal and I was shocked at the portion size for what they charge. We were left very hungry. Will be back but not for over 60's meal. Thought we would get same size meal. It was more suitable for a 3 year old

We came from London for a walk by the sea, and popped round for lunch with no expectations. Really lovely place, fresh seafood, massive portions, and very friendly smiley service. Very pleasantly surprised, would definitely recommend!

From the welcome you get as you arrive to the farewell as you leave this family run restaurant couldn't be better. Pork chops, huge Lamb chops, amazing Linguini, risotto both outstanding. I so wholeheartedly recommend you visit this place.

Great over 60s deal. Lovely small fish and chips, bread & butter pudding or ice cream and tea or coffee. Less than a tenner.

Good food, but there is no good overview if customers have a question or want to order something extra. Other than that it's fine.

In my 60 years on this planet, this was by a clear mile, the best fish and chips I have ever had. I told the owner that when we were leaving and he gave me a hug! Excellent food and service and if I lived closer, I would go every week!

What can I say, absolutely beautiful food. I had the Linguine Frutti Di Mare, grilled pitta bread to soak up the juices and a glass of white to wash it all down. Lovely relaxing music and fantastic service. Thank you

Halloumi to start (on the side) with battered sausage and chips for main followed by tiramisu for dessert. No complaints regarding the service, restaurant or food. All good. Decent prices, portion sizes and opening hours.

My partner and I have been here a few times and it's always the most delicious fish/seafood we've had. We had the fish platter for two which is £70 but well worth the money, especially for a treat. Amazing service and just a really friendly atmosphere. Thank you!

Four of us went here before going to the theatre. We knew it was goi g to be more expensive than one of the chippies around the corner. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. However, the cod was probably the smallest piece we’ve ever had anywhere yet was £13.50 (£14.85 inc mandatory tip) Not super hot and not a great portion of chips either. My salmon fillet was very nice with boiled rice and a salad and again not overly cheap at £17.00 (£18.70 inc mandatory tip). Our son’s burger was very good and a decent size and he seemed to have some of my wife’s chips as his portion was far better. Overall, not bad, nice atmosphere but not convinced the extra cost compared to other fish restaurants (not chippies) is justified. £89 was a lot of money for what we had. As they say “you pay your money you take your choice”. Our choice will be somewhere else in future.

Good location. Had the pensioners special lunch including tea or coffee, enough fish and chips and a pudding too. Reasonable price although there is a sneaky service charge of 10%.

My wife and I went there for lunch on Mother's Day. The restaurant was full and busy with a lively atmosphere. We were welcomed by name at the door ( by the owner I think), who had anticipated our arrival (a very nice touch), and he showed us to our table. All of the staff were friendly, courteous and professional. The food was excellent, both in quality and price. We spent a very nice couple of hours over a leisurely lunch, and it was all the more enjoyable knowing we weren't going to have to take out a second mortgage to pay for it. We're definitely going back.

I lived in Worthing many years ago and I ate here many times over the decades when it was the Connaught Corner Restaurant. Then it became Harry Ramsden’s for a while and it was awful. We visited today with our granddaughter for a late lunch of fish and chips. It was fabulous! The staff are very friendly, the service excellent, the fish and chips first class, and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. Beautifully cooked fish, really good size portions, with lovely chips and mushy peas. And good value for money. All kudos to the family who own and manage the restaurant, it’s great. We’ll be back soon.

Never again weird looking Batter on fish should be Crispy too many Chips a small pot of Mushy Peas which were cold then you get charged Service Charge wont see me there again i will go to another restaurant in Worthing where the Food is good and you dont get charged for Service if i wont to give a tip i do

Dissappointed Heard it was good went in ordered the ober 60s Meal wish i had gone to the Fish and Chip Shop too many chips batter tasteless gew cold musy pras in a pot no condiments on Table wont be back. Then the audacity to charge a Service Charge

Absolutely lovely food, and very helpful friendly service. Highly recommended. The restaurant is attractive and sparkling clean. Excellent location. The fish and chips was fabulous. Really fresh fish with perfectly cooked chips, and lots of them! Companions had the sea bass and sardines and praised them highly too. Massive slice of delicious tiramisu to finish. The whole evening was made even nicer by the lovely waiter, who looked after us beautifully but also gave us space and didn't rush us. Will be back soon

Quite honestly the most amazing food I have ever tried. Excellent quality. The food was cooked to perfection and with every single bite a new experience. The Chef was on point with every tasting. A truly incredible night supported by an even more amazing hostess. A must place to visit for any food fanatic.

Really nice place to have a meal. We have been a few times and each time the staff have really been lovely and friendly. The food is always fresh, the dishes are reasonably priced and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated. It's also in a great location, directly opposite the pier. If anyone is into their fish and seafood then this restaurant is definitely a place to visit. I highly recommend them⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eaten here a few times now and the service and food has always been brilliant. My mum has a wheelchair and they always make room and allowances for it. Staff are always friendly and polite. One of the best chippys in worthing.

The best fish and chips we have had in a very long time! Lovely fresh fish with crisp batter and chips. The light sprinkling of herbs lifted the flavour. I would definitely recommend .

Called in one cold January afternoon looking to eat, because our chosen restaurant was closed. Very ordinary meal, small portions and no personal service. Ordered a bottle of wine which was a very ordinary brand and very poor. From ordering food to being delivered took about under 10 minutes which always makes me aware how it’s cooked. No service in asking if everything was ok and no follow up asking us if was wanted a dessert. Overall very poor and will not be going back

One of the best haddock and chips I've ever had! Light batter on the fish, amazing crunchy chips, huge portions. Friendly service, great prices, a bright and airy atmosphere. The Arcades is a real find - keep up the great work!

I ate here with my son on a Sunday evening. It was so lovely and the food perfect. We had the fish and chips. The fish was the best we have ever had. Only constructive feedback is our plates were cleared and nobody came to check if we wanted hot drinks or puds. But that’s a small thing in what was overall a lovely meal. We will be back. Thanks.

Came here again for a "60's Special Lunch" with my wife, which is served between 11.30 and 15.00. This is fish & chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce followed by either bread & butter pudding with custard or ice cream and then either tea or filter coffee. The portion size is adequate and really good value for money. It also tastes great as well. The staff are always friendly and helpful and I highly recommend The Arcades Fish Restaurant and will definately visit again

Mum and I had fish and chips here yesterday and we both thought it was the best fish and chips we have ever had. Next time I visit we will definitely return. Lively with a nice atmosphere and amazing food. Recommended!

Nous cherchions notre fish and chips dès notre arrivée sur worthing et voilà trouvé. Bel endroit, très très lumineux et bien placé en bord de mer et de la jetée. Prix correct pour du sur place, choix du poisson, haddock ou morue. La carte a du choix pour tous les goûts.

Very welcoming and great service. A plateful of beautifully cooked fish & chips, very meaty fish, perfect batter. Located opposite the pier, we were a little sceptical but thank god we walked in, just a great lunch.

Really tasty food, served with a smile and excellent service. We had whitebait and calamari starters, haddock and chips, scampi and chips and whole cooked prawns in a garlic butter. All excellent and great value.

I don’t leave many reviews but I think it’s important when the experience is so disappointing or amazing that you do. We went to the restaurant with our two smalls kids (3&6) a friend and ourselves, of course. We were seated quickly and menus provided however they were slow to take our order. I left briefly with the 3 year old to entertain the toddler and on our return the food had arrived. Food was good. It isn’t show stopping but it’s tasty. The hummus burger would benefit having the option of a sweet chilli sauce for some zing. Greek salad was good although no balsamic offered. The kids menu is frustrating. The only veggie option is pasta. I wanted a piece of Halloumi (which is one the menu) in place of the chicken/fish etc but they refused to accommodate the request. My daughter is a vegetarian and she was quite frustrated. We had to order a starter of Halloumi and a side of chips for her and a drink - costing us closer to £12 than the kids menu offer of £6. I just think this is unnecessarily stubborn and harsh. It would be at no additional cost to them. We aren’t asking for anything drastic. When the items did arrive, I had to get up 3 times to ask for something as they ignored the table. We were ignored and never checked on. They were slow and inattentive. I stacked the plates and a staff member came over and I asked him for the bill and to takeaway out leftovers. Our kids by now were fed up. He removed the empty plates and then went outside for ages. We sat waiting. He then came in and went “ah ha!” And remembered. I then reminded them the kids menu came with an ice cream to which he replied “I’m sorry young lady but you can’t take it away”. I wouldn’t have needed to race out of there if the staff weren’t so slow and ignored us. They should have been attentive and came over when we had finished eating and given us the ice cream WE PAID for. When I went to pay the bill, the machine took forever. The entire table except me left and waited outside. Eventually they asked me to pay with a different card because their machine was slow. I refused. Thankfully in the second try it went through quickly. Overall it wasn’t with any malice but complete lack of attention. If guests visit your establishment with small kids, please remember they DO NOT have the privilege of waiting forever. Attend to those tables quicker. Our service would have frustrated us with or without children. But the fact we did have kids, made it more frustrating that they aren’t showing any understanding of the challenges eating out with kids, especially post pandemic can have. The clientele is majority older people and the set up suits that. It is slow and not in a comfortable way. I will never be returning to the restaurant.

Very nice fish and superb chips , but I had salmon , salad and chips , so over powered by over half a plate of lettuce with a few bits of Tom, cue and 1 bit of pepper on top.not to mention red onion ,would have liked smaller salad but be able to fit my chips on same plate as salmon . Good service .

This place is just amazing. Outstanding service, always cheerful and courteous. Great menu, amazing grilled sea bass. I bought French friends here and 11 year old had chicken pie and chips and gravy and almost licked plate clean. Their kindness to less able clients is legendary
