Giuseppes Southern Italian Restaurant in Worthing

Morella was an amazing waitress! When we ordered mussels the chef personally came down and explained he’d run out of mussels, we then decided on lunch menu, so had a starter of mixed seafood from lunch menu, absolutely delicious, my friend had the cod off the menu and I had the chicken in Marsala with the gorgeous mashed potato, we are going again on a Friday or Saturday to get the best fresh cooked mussels in the future!

The food was absolutely outstanding. The service was second to none - attentive, friendly and fast. Great vegan options too. Wonderful restaurant, fully recommend!

If I deem it to be so I'll add a tip to the bill but to add a 10% service charge at the beginning is outrageous, this ain't in America!! Was disappointed, £143 for four people (3 starters, 4 mains, 3 desserts and 2 cokes) we didn't have any alcohol either!! I asked for extra panchetta and sausage (£3.50 per portion) in my calzone, must of been added using some kind of nano technology and the panchetta I did find was raw and cold. I should of spoke up but didn't want to cause a scene as I was with family and they recommended the place so I kept quiet. There are other places to try when I'm back in Worthing.

Omg what a treat ! Went for lunch today - great ambience, staff very polite & professional & food was superb - can't fault a thing & definitely will be back.

Delicious meal with excellent menu and service.

They were closing and we asked if we could get some food. There kitchen was closing. It was 9.50pm. They then welcomed us in and gave us a menu. Food was beautiful, hospitality excellent. We explained it was our 20th wedding anniversary and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I would highly recommend. Thank you, for making us feel so welcome 🙏

The food was wonderful, large servings very attractively presented. The staff were all very welcoming. Special mention to James who was apparently new but was excellent, he discreetly ensured that we had everything we needed and tables were cleared when it was a busy night with some large parties we could have been overlooked.

A few little changes would make this a great 4 star or even a 5 star restaurant. Change lighting to provide some atmosphere and ambience. Staff are friendly and efficient but could do with being warmer and more engaging with customers. Food is good though.

This is a great restaurant. The food delicious, the service good, inspite of being very busy. The staff were very helpful and friendly, a most enjoyable evening and would definitely go back.

Me and my friends go every year as we are in the area for the Goodwood festival of speed. We have been for a number of years and never had a bad meal. The food is utterly superb. So many flavours. The meatballs starter, Salmone dello Chef and Tiramisu all are superb. Very friendly and helpful staff also they'll recommend dishes if you are unsure what to order. We will go again and recommend it to anyone visiting Worthing.

Authentic and delicious Italian food. Tiziana and team are really welcoming and professional. Kids are welcomed too and all details are thought of including kids cutlery, great menu and crayons to color. Will come back. 5 stars.

The restaurant is on a rather unpromising street with a monolithic brick building opposite (we’re not locals, so didn’t know what to expect). Once inside we were delighted to find a bright and airy space with a relaxing ambiance. We were warmly welcomed and quickly shown to our corner table. The menu had plenty of choice and I finally settled on pork belly. Whilst we waited, we shared bread and olives, a generous serving including three or four different breads. My belly pork was cooked to perfection; the meat all but melted in the mouth and the crackling was exactly right (crisp, but not so hard as to risk a broken tooth!). Served with a variety of vegetables, it was again a generous portion, so much so that I could barely face a pudding. Nevertheless, I couldn’t resist the Chocolate Soufflé and am glad I didn’t as it was first rate. Overall, it was a perfect evening and we look forward to dining there in the future.

Had dinner here on a cold April evening. The welcome was warm, the food and wine excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Wish we lived in Worthing so we could visit again.

Beautiful food- unfortunately we did not feel welcome, and felt like we were in the way. We weren't allowed our children's starters to come first because no adults were having starters. And my 1 year old was not allowed to just have a starter, but had to order a main as well. The food was almost thrown on the table. It was delicious to eat, but just a shame about the service.

My Wife and I went here for my belated Birthday meal. For starters we had, to share, the Antipasto Italiano which was great selection of meat and cheese; A good way to start a meal. Mains, my Wife had the Paccheri al Pescespada, swordfish pasta, which she thought was very nice, where I had the Linguine al Granchio e Caviale, crab and prawn pasta topped with caviar, also very nice and my go to choice at this restaurant. Both were good size portions. For desert we both had the Tiramisu di Pistacchio, this is something else that we always have and you have got to try it. The food was all washed down with a bottle of Pinot Blush. Service was good as usual. We will be back soon.

Superb home made Italian food as it should be. Best pizza ever!! Very welcoming and pleasant staff. Excellent wine, we had two bottles and beer. I'm staying in Worthing for another night and I'm going back for dinner again. I had Salmon and Artichokes for starters and it was a good sized portion and delicious. Pizza Etna I highly recommend.

A group of us had lunch. There was a price choice for a 1, 2 and 3 course meal all at reasonable prices. Wonderful selelection will go there again. We travel from Fareham by train, and its not worth coming by car as they are fairly close to the station.

Simple team night out to wish good luck to a colleague, we all had a lovely time

As we were shopping in Worthing we wanted a quick and tasty lunch. I chose Pollo Funghi, my wife chose Tagliatelle Filetto. Both dishes were prepared freshly and the standard was excellent. I would comfortably describe the cream, mushroom and pea sauce on my chicken as BRILLIANT. The service was roundly, efficient and suitably attentive, the environment was bright, clean and well presented.Highly recommended.

I was expecting fresh vibrant italian food after seeing the reviews on google but unfortunately didn’t have a good experience..We came in the middle of busy dinner service and was lucky to get a table..I ordered meat balls as a starter and it tasted frozen although the sauce was very good..The biggest disappointment was the main dish pasta carbonara, big portion but the pasta wasn’t cooked fresh the whole dish was very bland without any flavour whatsoever..The wine was good.Would I go back?Probably not!:(

Disappointing on several levels. Firstly we were sat next to a group of six that were excessively loud with no manners to acknowledge other diners were trying to also enjoy their evening. I feel the restaurant must of heard this and should have stepped in rather than allowing other diners to suffer the excessive noise. Secondly the amount of time it took to get a starter and then a main was way beyond reasonable for a pizza pasta restaurant even on a busy Friday night I can’t accept that. Lastly the food was mediocre at best it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either Ive been to this restaurant a few times but ive got to say I think this one was my last. With regret.

Mouth watering food, great service, and superb coffee for afterwards

Really like it here. The food (big portions) and service is always good. It is a bit crowded at busy times and only one ladies loo (that I know of), so you have to queue - right next to other diners because of where the loo is. I guess not much can be done about that. Overall, a lovely place to eat.

Gorgeous fresh tasting food and the best pizza I have ever had even if my eyes were too big for my belly and had to take most of it home in a box because I was full from the starters I shared with my man. Will definitely be going back soon!

We opted for here as a pre show meal, we allowed ourselves 1.45hr for the meal. After 30 minutes of no drink or food order taken, we began to sweat! The waitress came over and apologised for the delay, explained they’re very busy. Drink and food orders taken, we breathed a little. Another 15 minutes our drinks arrived and then after being in the restaurant an hour our food turned up too. Lovely food, well presented and tasty. We would have liked to have tried the baileys pudding, but with time running out we didn’t want to gamble!! Nice place , staff and food just a shame about the long wait time.

Came here for date night. We were seated in front of the cashier desk, where the menus are kept diagonally opposite the side sliding door. There were a few things that bothered me when we first arrived. The table was opposite the sliding doors, so whenever anyone came in, the breeze was freezing. The table next to us was very loud, and there was a continuous banging from upstairs. My partner agreed that the table was not the best, so we were really hoping the food was good. We weren't disappointed! Once the table next to us had left and the banging stopped, our evening was instantly better. Our wait staff were friendly and attentive. We had White Bait and Calamari to start. It was hot, well cooked, and tasty. My partner had the rib eye, and I had salmon. The steak came with Mediterranean veggies, and he ordered chips and sauce on the side. The steak was cooked to perfection. The salmon was the same. It was soft, perfectly cooked. It also came with Mediterranean veggies. It was the perfect amount of food. Absolutely delicious. We also had dessert and coffee. Tirramasu and Canolo. These were absolutely delicious. We had a great evening despite the rocky start.

Turned up on a cold January Tuesday night. The Lasagne was so so good and welcoming on such a cold night. The staff were friendly and courteous and attentive. After the meal, we requested a taxi, but the owner insisted on taking us back to our hotel! Customer service way beyond the call of duty, and with fantastic food! Thank you! Our go to restaurant in Worthing!

I went there for a special night out ordered the steak which bled all over the plate was very chewy not nice ,I let the waitress know who.apogised was still charged the full price even though ate less then half of it was so.dissapointing would not go.there again

Last night, I indulged in a delightful dinner at Giuseppes, a hidden gem! This charming eatery truly captures the essence of authentic Southern Italian cuisine, exuding a warm and welcoming family atmosphere. Without a doubt, it is the finest Italian restaurant in Worthing, boasting mouthwatering dishes that leave a lasting impression. Giuseppe, the maestro behind it all, astounded me with his impeccable taste in Sicilian wines, particularly his recommendation of the exquisite Passiccato. This dining experience was truly unforgettable, and I am already eagerly planning my return!

Not very good at all. Staff were all very confused. They didn't seem to know how to give good service at all . Took ages to order drinks and food . Food took a long time to appear, then 2 meals arrived, and the waitress said the other pizzas were burnt ,so starting again . OH NO ! A table of four donot expect 2 to eat ,then wait another 15 minutes for the other 2 dishes to arrive. Unbelievable poor service. Then, had the cheek to question and ask for the service charge we took of the bill . Outrageous. Will not return

We have been to this restaurant many times unfortunately the meal was off par a few friends have had food poisoning the service was not professional all very confusing not withstanding the owner then came over and insinuated it’s time to go there are so many restaurants going bust in Worthing customer service should be paramount .

This is the nicest Italian restaurant I've found in the UK after spending several years living and working in Italy. The earlier reviewer who claimed this to be inauthentic has clearly never set foot in the country because if they had done so, they would have immediately recognised the authentic passion, attention to detail, honest family service, pride in the freshness and quality of the ingredients, unfussy cooking and absolutely delicious results. I so wish we had an authentic Italian restaurant of this quality near to where we live but I shall look forward to my future visits to Worthing with more excitement having discovered this gem.

Great little Italian joint. Good wine (the Primativo), good food (the swordfish and aubergine) and, although I really didn't need it, good pudding (cannolo). The food was fresh and simple. I could've counted the ingredients on one hand. I liked the atmosphere and kind wait staff. Seems like a nice, family run place. Very quiet here on a Monday night; come make them busy.

The food just isn’t very good. We go to Italy on a regular basis and this is about as far away from being authentically Italian as it’s possible to be. When asked if we had enjoyed the meal because we left most if, it we said no. We were then told that everyone loves the food at Guiseppes, the inference clearly being there was something wrong with us because we didn’t. Definitely not for us or for lovers of Italian food.

Lovely food with friendly and helpful staff. I has linguni with crab and prawns in a creamy sauce. The helping was too large for me but good value for money.

From previous reviews we were expecting a good meal but came away feeling slightly disappointed. Whilst the service was good, we felt a bit rushed with plates being taken away whilst we were still eating our last mouthfuls. Garlic bread was cold but pizza was nice. Met a group for lunch here today best italian eaten for ages. A friendly warm greeting and service, the food we agreed tasted so fresh & tasty presentation was good we all said best garlic bread ever with fresh onion relish. Our waitress was helpful friendly and effiecient. Will be back for sure

Best Italian restaurant I've been to for a long time. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. There is a good choice of food on the menu and portions are generous. An excellent combination of plenty of good tasting food and attractive presentation. It's not the cheapest in town - just under £100 including service for 3 courses plus alcoholic drinks for two, but well worth it.

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. I walked in with my wife and small kids with no booking and they quickly accommodated us. The front of house and chef were friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to serve us excellent food. It was a lovely place to spend the evening. I disagree with earlier reviews about pricing. The cost of ingredients, energy and business rates is crippling for small businesses like this. So yes things cost a bit more than we would all like them to, but this is the world we live in.

My grandma loves Italian food and i wanted to take her something that she would really enjoy. After hearing many good things and reading reviews visiting here certainty did not disappoint! My grandma absolutely loved the food and struggled to pick what she actually wanted as so many things looked good! The staff were super friendly and it really was a lovely day!

Had lunch yesterday at Giuseppes. We've eaten there a few times before and haven't been disappointed, yesterday was no different. Food was really enjoyable, staff were really attentive and were great with our nineteen month old daughter, who polished off her pasta dish.

Very welcoming staff, the restaurant was quite cool upon arrival and is clinical rather than cozy. Great Marguerite to start with, followed by lovely red wine- good selection. Dined here with my family. Delicious seafood risotto. Plus two other of the dishes were enjoyed. But my granddaughters pizza not so good. Sparse topping. She only ate part of it, which is unusual for her! Would certainly eat here again (but not the pizza).
