Had a lovely lunch. Food exceptional. Lovely waitress Danielle who was very attentive. But I will say all the staff are helpful and friendly. Great place to go too.

Me and my family were welcomed with great warmth on my lunch visit last month. A lovely and friendly place, super clean and brilliant Service. The food was absolutely outstanding! We were served quickly and the young waitress was so patient and understanding with my little boy who couldn’t decide what he wanted to eat! The waitress was so understanding and patient that my little boy felt like he was cared for greatly! he keeps asking for another visit! We will be back soon!

We went with a friend for coffee and cakes, it was fairly busy and we decided to sit outside as it was pleasantly hot, So we used the parasol to keep the sun off the food. Service was good, but you have to order & pay your food at the counter because we were outside. It was very pleasant and relaxing and we weren’t rushed. Afterwards we enjoyed a walk around the centre.

I attended Parkers Garden Centre Restaurant for the first time this afternoon around 3pm to have a bit of late lunch as I was so hungry I decided to try it out, I also shop in the centre on a regular basis Too. Well, what can I say except I left feeling extremely disappointed. So I ordered the Halloumi and Water Melon Salad, which was priced on the menu at £12.95. Unfortunately, all the meal consisted of was x2 small round flat pancake shaped Halloumi pieces which were overcooked & dry on a bed of chopped lettuce mixed with a sprinkling of fresh mint, with small cubes of water melon spaced around the plate and the drizzling of balsamic glaze. I also ordered a ciabatta bread to have on the side which came as one half portion. And I have to say the presentation looked fine but as soon as I started eating, I was shocked by the quality of food. There was no other salad on the place except lettuce. Far overpriced!! I did not eat all of the meal and did express to the young lady who took my order how disappointed I was and how I was so looking forward to the meal. However, I paid the full price for the salad but they removed the cost of the half portion of bread and my Cappuccino. Unfortunately I will not be wasting my money returning back for a further meal.

Come here on a regular basis to meet friends. Today I ordered jacket potato and pot of tea. The jacket was sub standard and wasn’t fresh in my mind and not hot. The tea was luke warm as well. I should have complained but didn’t which is my fault. This is not the first time this has happened but don’t think I will be ordering a jacket potato again. My friend had a toastie and asked for white bread and it came up on granary bread. She complained and they changed it but it was burnt in places. It is becoming very hit and miss here but will come again but next time I will complain if not up to standard. Not cheap either.

The best Chicken Caesar Salad I’ve had in years. Gorgeous crunchy bacon bits, wonderful dressing, plenty of chicken and when I asked for extra Parmesan, they were very generous . A real winner. Daniella was absolutely lovely with a genuine happy greeting and so friendly. I also asked her for details about an evening event in September and she found out all the information for me. My daughter had the fish and chips and also said that it was so fresh and very tasty. Great value. I do eat here regularly but today was extra nice. Thanks guys x

We have visited Parker’s including the coffee shop on countless visits. On a recent visit I asked the waiter what the speciality quiche of the day was and was told ‘Cheese and Onion’ Well as most quiches have cheese and onion in them I must admit I wouldn’t say it was special. When it arrived it was bland and tasteless, and full of grease. when I dared to ask for some mayonnaise, received a very interested look from the young waitress who did bring some and added “ here we are Madam!’ My sarcasm detector was sounding!, It wasn’t a totally awful experience but not enjoyable and one to be repeated. NB. The older waitress was very pleasant. We won’t be returning I’m afraid.

Really a good place to visit for lunch or coffee/tea and cake, we visited as we purchase most of our plants from Parker's. Decided to visit the coffee shop as it was around 2.00pm on a Saturday afternoon and finished having a lunch outside on a beautiful afternoon, my wife tried the bean ragu only complaint was the accompanying pita bread had been massacred, but replaced at a time when the ragu had almost been finished. I had a chicken caesar salad which was excellent and accompanied with some soft drinks.

We have been frequenting Parker’s Coffee Shop and Restaurant for quite a number of years and have always found it a relaxing, enjoyable experience. However, today - 1st Oct 20 - proved the exception. The staff remain pleasant and welcoming and do particularly well under the pressure of Covid 19 rules and regulations. It was busier than normal and consequently we found ourselves being seated in the conservatory section of the restaurant. I can only equate the resulting ambience by comparing it to sitting in a cafeteria of a cross-channel ferry. The noise from the extraction system provides a loud and irritating constant hum that seems to intensify the longer you’re sat there and being out of the way, you tend to wait that bit longer to be served. An experience I wouldn’t wish to repeat and, if forced, I would, reluctantly look for other options.

This time I thought I would try the expensive posh fish finger sandwich, made from real fish if you know what I mean, and I was not disappointed. My wife however went for the quiche, a mix including stilton cheese that she couldn't taste which was a let down, it was also dry, she will not be ordering that again. Only problem having a main meal from the "short" length menu card rather than the lunchtime "long" menu card is you are too full for any cake afterwards!

Visited Saturday the 28th at approx.1.pm nobody waiting by the picket gate to be taken to a table. We waited and waited and I could see an empty table to the left of the gate true full of dirty crockery, Said to husband come on and went straight ahead up to the till area and noticed 6 empty tables there so we sat down, First time ever thought would try the Fish and Chips for me. Menu states Fish of the day, I ask the server what Fish it is she had to go and ask. I was told Cod I asked is it battered here or bought in ? again will have to go and ask. Surely when they open in the morning is there not somebody in charge of this restaurant present to enlighten the staff as to what the soup is that day and what Fish it is that day as customers will ask. My Fish and Chips came out large Fish frozen chips and peas, Sent it back as it had no taste at all. The server when I told her I could not eat that asked if wanted anything else I said no thankyou. She took it away and came back and said it will be taken off the bill, Nobody from the Chef or Management came to enquire what the problem was which to me clearly states could not careless. Think the Fish must have been Frozen cheap Fish. They know what they are serving hence no concern when a customer sends it back. It is almost expected. When it came out the lemon slice for the fish was sitting in the Tartare sauce so could not use that without getting your fingers smothered in the sauce. Husband had the Pie of the day said it was okay we paid and left, In future will stick to going to the Fish and Chip shop we pass on the ay to Parkers called Kirby Cross Fisheries. True have no eating area so we have sat in car and ate ours before but the Fish is always beautiful tasting and proper chips It does seem since enlarging Parkers standards have dropped somewhat so we will not go again for food. Very tight in the shop area as well bought lots of discounted Christmas decorations and told we do not stamp your card as the goods are discounted. Well I spent £21.00 which went in their till so why not. If had bought anything else for that money would have had the card stamped.

Booked special Christmas Evening on 12th December 2019. We were so disappointed. The pan fried pigeon was crucified it consisted of 2 very small over cooked pieces of pigeon breast and 2 pieces about the size walnut which could of been offal. The roast Turkey was 2 small slices of rolled Turkey, few yellow brussel sprouts, 1" sausage in bacon, small round stuffing, supposed roast were like boiled potatoes, the rest of the vegetables stone cold. The oven baked Brill was a disgrace, all broken, about 10 half, boiled potatoes, 1 slice of beetroot, none of it edible. The service was abysmal, we arrived 5.30pm, one of the first tables to sit down, we were the last table to be served go our starters about 7.00 pmand our main meal about 7.45, probably why it was so bad.We were trying to finish our meal when most people had left, and tables were being cleared, as we just about time to gulp our coffee down , as we felt we were holding things up.The best thing about the evening was the 1940's 3 piece girl group, Fox, Wiggle, and Sass, they were brilliantDon't think we will be booking again.

Arrived at 12pm for lunch and ordered turkey roast and roast beef dinner. The beef was tasteless and had Brussels sprouts carrots and one parsnip half and a soft Yorkshire pudding and a completely tasteless gravy. The turkey was from a rolled turkey joint 2 slices with a tiny stuffing ball and a mini sausage with bacon wrap. Again soggy Yorkshire and tasteless gravy. Know from experience unless in the restaurant early hardly any choice left in food. So today 22 October we got there early and I remarked how quiet it was to my husband time was 12.30 pm No queue to be seated at all. Husband sat down I am in a wheelchair and before we entered the restaurant I asked what Pie is it today of the lady who came to see us in. Lady replied Steak and Kidney Pudding are on today. Made our way through moved chairs to facilitate my chair lady came to take orders. We both ordered soup told it was Carrot and both ordered the puddings to follow. Lady came back all the puddings had gone only Chicken Pies left we do not eat chicken. So said just have our soup which lady said only one Carrot soup left and then it is vegetable soup. I ordered Vegetable soup with Brown bread. Husband ordered the last available Carrot soup with white bread. Soups came up hardly warm both looked similar in colour so I asked which is the vegetable soup ? reply do not know you had better taste them. It turned out my vegetable soup had white bread and not the brown I had asked for. And husbands soup had my brown bread on his plate. Both of the soups were thick and have had better. We finished our soups paid and left. It will be sometime before we go back there if ever as what is the point if you cannot guarantee that within 30 minutes of the dinner service starting they run out of their pies? They have been in business long enough surely to know what demand they get for certain pies they make yet run out within 30 minutes of serving dinners that is poor customer service. After all they are open until 2pm for dinner.

This was at 3.45pm. After our order was taken a rather embarrassed waitress came back to us and explained they do not serve food after 4pm! Why on earth not??? We often have afternoon tea there. We were astonished. I was so shocked I didn't even bother spending my vouchers. I was advised by speaking to a, friend it has been taken over by a corporate company. From initially coming into the car park the wrong way as the signage is poor, we did much the same at the entrance to the cafe as the sign for "wait to be seated" didn't catch our attention wit has the general huseless and bustle on a Saturday afternoon. Then I was told there were no sandwiches left, so to make things easier, I then ordered 2 x cheese scones, 2 slices of cake and 2 coffees, I then paid, told them my table number and sat outside. While waiting, I was remided by staff on 2 occassions that they shut at 4pm. After waiting 25 minutes for my order, I went up to chase it and was told it would arrive shortly. When they did bring out the order, it was incorrect. After querying why, it became apparent the lady at the till took the order wrong however there was no appology. They just explained that if I wanted the missing part of my order, it would be chargable.

9 of us had afternoon tea for my nieces 18th birthday. As requested they sat us in a separate part of the cafe so we had plenty of room to ourselves. Drinks orders were taken quickly and brought to the table not long after. Then the afternoon tea began with 3 delicious courses of sandwiches, scones and three desserts. My nieces was made specially as she is vegetarian. The food was impeccable and really hit the spot. Good value for money and a real winner!

Having been impressed with the improved dinner menu thought would try the breakfasts there. Not bad but a very small sausage more like you would give a child than an adult. Considering if you want an extra sausage it will cost you £1.50 this size sausage would be a rip off at that price. Toast decent bread not too thin. and nice hot plates. Would go again for breakfast. And must say the sausage on my husbands plate was bigger than my one, Surely all should be consistent in size to be fair/

My friend & I took our Mums over for lunch when the Garden Party was on. 2 of us ordered jacket potato & the other 2 had a baguette. We all enjoyed our food. Our Mums particularly liked the fact they did half a jacket pototo so wasn’t too filling. The restaurant was really busy but the service was excellent! We then went and joined the Garden party which was really good!!

We visited for lunch having been before and to say we were disappointed with the majority of our food order is understatement. Quiche was over cooked and dry, chips were not chips they were wedges and again over cooked and tasteless. The waitress who who originally served us was quite rude and did not take into account her customers needs. Having said this when we raised our concerns two of the meals were discounted off the bill. I felt that although there’s been improvements in the decor etc this has been at the cost of the quality of the food. Would not be in a hurry to return which is a shame as we have loved coming in the past.

Me and two friends came in for afternoon tea, we went for the luxury and for £14 each it was such good value for money! My friend wanted coffee instead of tea and that was no problem. One friend didn’t like citrus and they offered an alternative. Nothing was a hassle and it was all delicious! We came away so full! Will definitely be coming back!

We came for an afternoon tea for a hen. The food was absolutely amazing and so beautifully presented. The best afternoon tea I have had and would definitely recommend and come back again! Service was great by the staff and were always checking we were ok and making sure we had everything we needed. 10 out of 10. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Went to this restaurant two weeks ago and had a lovely Caesar salad so went back this last week and ordered the same which I said to my husband this does not look the same so started eating it which was just lettuce and chicken then I started to think this should have more to it as it cost nearly £10 silly of me to eat it with out checking but I went and got the menu from the entrance to see it shoul have had croutons Parma ham and cheese shavings with a dressing which I had none of these so when I went to pay the bill I told them this to be told sorry you ate it the chef does not send food out like that we have plenty of the food in stock so I was practically called a liar so I would like to say you might have it in stock but forgot to put it on the plate funny when I praised the salad two weeks ago got treated very nice but because I brought this up last week was made to look a liar did complain at reception and the lady was very nice but heard nothing back exspensive salad won't be going there again

Plenty of choice for afternoon tea and cake. All set in lovely garden centre surroundings. The cakes, tea cakes are lovely and the service is very good. The restaurant caters for children with high chairs and can do lunches. Jacket potatoes are also on the menu together with quiche.

I took my friend here as I had not been since the new refurbishment I have to say I was underwhelmed I preferred the old setting where you sit and watch the fish, I am also not keen on the queueing idea to be seated. However, the scones were delicious. A few days later I visited with my husband and we sat outside which was nice and my husband had a tuna melt which he said was very tasty and I had a sandwich which was also nice but the garnish accompanying it was brown round the edges a little off putting. The garden centre itself is very nice and also the little shop.

First visit since place been refurbished and now lovely. Comfortable chairs and good to have cushions to sit on that have not gone flat and hard. Was going to have a sandwich but husband said to me they have Scampi on the board, As I quite like that that's what I ordered. Nicely done Scampi. Hand cut chips. Peas. Husband had the home made burger with chips. and to follow a scone each with jam, Really lovely scones, Two coffees each, Came away full up that's for sure. Will have to try their breakfast next. All in all good value for money.

Visited at lunch time when it was very busy and people were queuing to be seated. We were seated and waited nearly 10 minutes to have our order taken. Then we waited almost 25 minutes for our sandwiches and panini our drinks having been delivered a good 10 minutes in advance. People seated after us had their food delivered before us and we were on the point of walking out when our food arrived. The food was well presented and very good. This cafe is in a very good Garden Centre which appeared expensive as was the food.

The breakfast here is nice but not the best around . Beans and bacon a bit dry and butter portions put onto the warm plate which meant they were liquid . Good coffee. It just needs a bit of attention to detail and someone to keep their eye on quality control. £4.95 for a piece of lemon meringue pie is very extortionate to be honest and at least £2 too much although you don’t mind going here for a nice treat it would be better if they were more realistic with their prices so that if you are local , as we are, you would be drawn to use it more often rather than feel they were aiming at passing trade.

Beautiful selection of home made treats. My friends and I are happily sampling our way through them. So happy to see such a fantastic choice. Thank you.

Such a shame I was looking forward to eating at the revamped resturant, I had breakfast there on Monday and I was left wanting, waited a ridiculous amount of time for the food to arrive and I have to say it was not worth it.

This pleasantly located restaurant offers light bites as well as Sunday roasts. Sadly, the latter were disappointing - over-cooked and tough beef, undercooked carrots and overcooked parsnips. This is a shame as the puddings were good, especially the lemon meringue. The simpler snacks would perhaps be a better option. The environment is nice, it's a good meeting place so the answer is to order only what they can deliver safely. It's very wheelchair friendly and the toilets excellent. Bags of parking too.

We had some relatives from Devon with their dog visiting the area and needed to find a decent dog friendly place to eat. I contacted The Ship, and they advised me that they were very dog friendly, so we booked a table for lunchtime. Because of the dog, we were given a table in the bar area with a hard floor, which was understandable. The pub/ restaurant was fairly busy, but it didn't really impact on the service, especially as there were just 2 staff members serving. The meals were well presented, plentiful and hot, and served with a smile. Two of us had whitebait main meals, one had grilled cod, and the other had the chicken burger. Everything was nicely cooked and good quality and we all really enjoyed the food. Three of us had really nice desserts, and we all came away pleasantly full. Will we return? Definitely! Especially as we only live less than 10 miles away.

We popped in for a Sunday roast for the first time since the pub went under new management last year. WOW! The best roast dinner I’ve had in a restaurant ever. The meat was tender, the potatoes were perfectly crisp, the gravy was out of this world. I opted for a side of cauliflower cheese, which was delicious. The service was amazing too, lovely friendly staff who couldn’t have done more for us. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic fish and chips - we ordered and paid online (easy and completely hassle-free) and we arrived a few minutes early and our order was made up there and then. The fish is really fresh and it has been cooked in fresh, clean oil, which allows you to taste all the flavour of the fish. And the chips are great, too!

A few months back the Three Jays had new management , he has transform the pub utterly, warm, friendly ,most welcoming, but the prize and jewel in the crown, must be the food on offer, truly mind blowing , people go to the big chain restaurants , yet the food on offer is not a patch on the food at the three Jays. You could almost say just like Mum used to make. Veg fresh favourable , roast potato’s so tasty, nice crispy skin, texture , the meat was outstanding so tender , not paper thin again like the big chains offer. Gravy was really tasty made the meal even more extra. Price was another key , not over priced , A restaurant within a truly great public house. So no need to what for further reviews, go on book a meal NOW, I’ve seen their Christmas food list, mind blowing .
