£7 for a small bottle of rose wine had tap water instead barmaid not bothered avoid this place we didnt even bother to look at the food menu take out another mortgage, came here 2 years ago wouldnt botber again

Extrordinarily expensive, they wanted £7 for a 250 ml bottle of cheap rose wine, I questioned this and decided to go elsewhere, very expensive place

Looking for somewhere in Walton to eat is hard work. We found this little place & thought we would give it ago. The girl that served us was lovely but god know who cooked it. I had the 6oz burger & chips £14 so with a drink same price as 5 guys & got this. Safe to say won’t be going back in a hurry. I’ve heard of double fried chips but come on this was a £6.50 burger and chips

Very very quiet today which is unusual. The more expensive of the fish and chip shops but you do get your food on a plate. I had a childs portions of fish and chips as trying to be good! It came in a basket and my first thought was that parents always cut up food for their kids and thats hard with a basket. Nonetheless delicious fish, crispy but not greasy. The ice cream selection is good. Open all year round unlike their neighbours.

Came to walton on a holiday today we tried to get into this place when covid hit and but was full. I said to my partner we here now so let's give it a go. Ommmmggg amazing food by all round have kids with me so was a little picky but staff was amazing and made it happen. Staff was so help and really lovely. I highly recommend this place if your in the area. i know one thing I defo be back. Thanks so much ❤️ xx

Had lunch here today .... we were seated quickly, the staff were really friendly and the food was 10/10. I had the Fish & Chips, the regular size portion which in my opinion would have passed for a large portion. Both the fish and chips were perfectly cooked and not greasy at all.

What a lovely find! Sacha and her team made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and hot, we both had freshly cooked fish and chips. The decor is lovely and bright. We will definitely be back!!

After a long ride in the hot sun, originally to visit Revved Up, we chose the Beach House because Revved up was packed and the Beach House had lovely umbrellas on the tables outside. So pleased we went that way. What a gem of a place. Great service, lovely cool shade under the beach umbrellas but the fish! Fabulous. My GF and I decided on place and haddock & each swapped half of our fish. She added curry sauce for her chips but I was hot enough so dipped out of that one. Both the plaice and the haddock were superb, really good fish perfectly cooked. As good as any I can remember having anywhere & probably better. The chips were just right. Crispy, tasty, what more do you want from a chip? I'm reliably informed the curry sauce had a nice bite to it. From what I could see of what some of our companions had, the burger looked pretty damned good, but who comes to the seaside to have a burger? The halumi in batter looked rather tempting too and everyone was very pleased with their food. Seriously worth making a trip to Walton on the Naze just to eat here. We certainly will.

Came by today for some lunch and it was lovely. We had the burgers and chips. Very good quality meat and the chips were cooked perfectly. A lovely girl served us and asked if my dog wanted water (100 brownie points 🐶❤️) very cheerful staff. Will definitely be back again

My burger was good but my friends burgers was underdone and had to be sent back. They were good about it and did 2 fresh burgers . Would go back.

We stopped here to get some food. I had the small fish and chips which was just the right size for me. My husband had the pizza which when it arrived was very small for an adult and would have been more suitable for a child. Lager on tap was very expensive. Toilets were clean. Service was quick. Restaurant was clean.

I've eaten here in the past, and know the food and atmosphere to be lovely. Today, I wanted to bring my son here for his birthday meal - I dropped by at 1pm to ask when they were open until, and if we needed to book a table (we are a family of 6, so we always try to book!). I was told they were open until 6ish, and there was no need to book. I confirmed we'd be there at about 5pm. When we arrived at 5pm, it was closed. I respect that may have closed due to unforeseen reasons, so I am balanced about my views here... But I was also very disappointed, and annoyed as it meant meeting new plans for a family of 6 to eat at late notice. 😑

Great. No gluten free option on the menu but asked and the chef made a very tasty fish and chips. Chips fresh and tasty. Homemade pizza. Great service by the lady with the brown/blonde hair. Definitely return next time in town

We stumbled upon this restaurant after a day at the beach. The food and staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. One of our meals came slightly later than the rest so the children in our party were given free ice creams, which goes to show what a great place this is. Highly recommended.

Really super friendly staff, were patient when listening to our allergen issues, and made sure to adjust food to suit us. Lovely vibe. Great location.

Considering the Beach House is near a fairly busy road, it had a really nice private outdoor area. The staff were very welcoming and able to adjust our meals to make them vegan. They were very tasty. Lovely place for a quick lunch and beer!

The food was great and for anyone with a sweet tooth, they also have a place next door that does ice creams, waffles, pancakes and milkshakes. We had the large fish and chips and burgers. Very yummy. They also have kids sizes for some menu items.

One of the worst fish and chips ever. I have order two fish and chips, one large one small, they arrived two small but one in a different plate (oval), the fish was barely eatable the chips not! I guess the chips were already fried and cold and they've been refried!:( The fish is one of the 3/4 main course of the menu, is hard to think to mess with this classic, the bar was nearly empty. One job only..

Worst chips I’ve ever had. No taste, no flavour, cold, pale, and looked as if they were cooked hours before and kept moderately warm. Would have been one star, but only saved my an ok piece of cod. Won’t be eating there again.

We unfortunately had a very bad experience at this restaurant this evening. We noticed the Beach House after a long day on the beach on our way back to the car and thought we would treat ourselves rather than just grabbing a quick fish and chips from the chip shop on the way back to the car as it looks nicely presented and appeared to be a nice place to eat. How wrong we were. Such a shame as it looks like it has potential to be a great establishment, however the customer service leaves a lot to be desired, as does the waiting time for food and the quality of the food. We chose a table and decided what to order, my partner then approached the bar to order food and was ignored by the lady behind the till who proceeded to take another customers order before ours despite him being at the bar first. Another staff member then came over and took our food and drink order. We ordered two adults meals and a child’s meal. We proceeded to wait at our table for food. I heard another family complain about the quality of the food however I thought nothing of it. After about 15 minutes the two adult meals arrived. We both had fish and chips and the fish was cooked beautifully and tasted lovely, however the chips tasted like chip shop chips that had been reheated a few times, they were very dry, and very hard, some so hard the fork wouldn’t even pick up the chip, and not just crispy. The server asked if we ordered any drinks, which we had but hadn’t yet received so we reminded of the order of a cup of tea and two waters, and the tea was then brought to our table but not the water. We didn’t say anything as we thought perhaps they were busy and would bring it shortly. We were assured the child’s pizza meal was on its way, however at least 10 minutes later my daughters food had still not arrived, she ended up eating some of our meal whilst waiting as she was very hungry. After another 5 minutes (15 in total) someone went to check where her food was and returned with the pizza and said the fries were just being made. The child’s pizza was a generous serving and again the pizza was lovely and clearly homemade, just a shame we had to wait so long for it. Another ten mins passed and another server came out with the basket of fries and said to us “these were supposed to be with the child’s pizza meal but they weren’t collected, do you still want them?” We accepted the fries which were a generous portion, and tasted much better than the reheated chunky chips we were served with our fish, however by this time my daughter had lost her appetite as she had waited so long for her food. We then had to ask the server for our waters as we still hadn’t received them. Such a shame as it looks like they have lots of potential here but need to invest in some customer service skills and food quality. We hope that we just caught the staff on a bad day and that others won’t receive poor service too.

Excellent location. DOG FRIENDLY and great staff. We had the full English breakfast which was very tasty and tea and coffee. All great. Very clean and lovely beach themed decor.

NOW CLOSED - sign in window saying 'Shut due to staff shortages but back "with a new offer" in 2022' Wonderful beach cafe serving fish & chips and the like (limited post-Covid menu at the moment) ice creams and a small selection of alcoholic drinks alongside the usual hot and cold beverages. Pleasant outside seating area at the front which catches the sun and a nicely done interior with a 60s Americana theme. Love coming back here, which says it all

Never been here b4 but very taken with decor and ambience. Sat inside as boiling hot outside. Tables nicely spaced apart. Lovely young waitresses. Ordered regular fish and chips and latte. I like my coffee HOT! asked waitress to put in microwave to make it ultra hot. She obliged although prob thought i was mad lol. Fish and chips very fresh very hot! Lovely. Only issue we had was how expensive coke and cold drinks are. 2.50 for a coke is extortionate. Fresh apple and orange cartons are £1.00 which again is a nassive mark up for tiny cartons. We loved the meal and would def recommend. Staff are really lovely. Wouldnt buy cold drinks tho. Everywhere else is circa 1.40 which is average price.

We took our 3 Grandchildren out for the day and came across this restaurant. The first impression was amazing as you still need masks to enter the premises which I totally loved. They were polite and friendly and the food was so so. Good. With 3 children 6,4 and 3 they ate all there food. Value for money.. 💯 Would definitely go back next time we visit

Some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. Flood value too.

We were so disappointed with our haddock and chips takeaway tonight. I don’t think I have ever been served such tiny portions of haddock (3 in total). One of the pieces wasn’t much bigger than a saveloy sausage (see attached picture - it looks as if it’s been half eaten but that’s how it came!). What’s more the fish didn’t taste of anything … pretty certain it wasn’t haddock! The only positive thing I can say is that the chips were good.

The staff were polite and helpful, service was good, we were able to sit with our dog outside. The food was hot and freshly cooked. Very good food reasonably priced. Everything was clean and tidy. Definitely go back and eat there again.

Visted late afternoon bank holiday monday. We were a party of 10. Firstly to walk through the restaurant you have to wear a mask so if you haven't got one they wont let you in. Ordered starters and main course and waited an hour to be served our food. We had to ask waitress where our food was as no update Everything served up together. No apology. Would have understood if it was busy but it wasn't. Fish and chips served in a small basket with no room to cut the fish. Asked for a plate to be told they dont do plates. Calamari was burnt, chips were awful, but more worrying were the burgers were raw in the middle with one blood seeping out. The waitress was very quick to point out that they are 100% steak and are ok to eat like that. Anyone knows burgers are the one thing that should be cooked thouroughly. Equally worrying that a food establishment don't recognise the dangers of eating undercooked burgers. Environmental Health I'm sure will be very interested in their logic. She didn't charge us for it but the food and customer service in general was very poor. Not a place I would visit again.

We were served by 2 lovely people and they even gave us a free bread roll. Only 4 stars because the chips were not very nice. The breaded chicken for starters was delicious.

We were served by a lovely lady who my little boy and daughter took a liking too. She knew how worried they were with face masks being worn and made them smile even when my little boy had a screaming fit. She managed to get him to stop. Food was lovely, only critasium was that there wasn't enough quantity wise on the fisherman's ploughman. Lovely waffles and will definately be back again.

Don’t waste your time with this place. The staff are very rude can’t be bothered. Supposed to open at 12 give or take their words, still wasn’t open at 12.10 (Obviously not owners, mad in a seaside town that’s missed most of its custom this year!) You lost 6 customers today.

Perfect little spot by the sea for meals at any time of the day. We visited for lunch and returned for dinner! Great prices too, hope to return soon and try the homemade waffles. From the friendly staff and their Hawaiian shirts, to the vintage beach signs and delicious menu, I would without a doubt recommend the beach house bar and grill to anyone visiting Walton On The Naze.

Visited the venue for fish and chip lunch. They are really on top of the COVID precautions. The food was excellent as was the staff. Highly recommend them and will definitely return when next in the area.

Dont get me wrong, the food was good. Great cod. Tased and smelled fresh.But the positives sadly end there. In stark contrast to a visit 2 years ago the service and atmosphere was really poor. Staff were rude (except for one) and unhelpful.Sadly there were no toilets or baby chaging facilities. They are shut. Didnt tell us this until we had paid. (Payment upfront) didn't tell me why they were shut when I dared to enquire. Just reacted like I had cut off one of their fingers when I asked if there was toilets.Waited an age for an extra bowl for a baby which was frustrating. Staff were too busy chatting eachother up. Face masks required to enter the restaurant.Tables were grubby at best. No name or number taken as per covid regulations. Heaven knows how they will trace anyone if somebody reports a positive test there....

A return visit. Food was good. Service was fast. However, two of the three staff we spoke to were rude. They have no toilets which means no baby changing facilities and were not apologetic about it. There is no signs up advising this so we had already paid for a party of 9 by the time that was apparent. (Payment was up front) its a shame as when we visited previously 18 months or so ago it had a lovely atmosphere. Also, you have to wear a face mask inside so bare that in mind. We didn't all have one. When we asked to sit outside due to that, the eaiter was less than friendly. Shame.

This place is a gem! The staff were incredibly nice, also everyone is wearing masks and making sure we’re all safe during this pandemic. The food was great, service amazing and a good range of drinks on offer.

We had been here 2 years previously and enjoyed the food so decided to return. I telephoned to make a booking for 4 adults, a toddler and a baby for a Monday in July. I was assured that whilst not usually open on Mondays they would be opening in Monday’s from this date. We arrived for our booking and the restaurant was shut. They had obviously decided not to open but didn’t call to inform me even though they had my contact details. We were then in the position of having to find somewhere that didn’t require bookings during this time. We ended up having to drive to Frinton-On-Sea with a sleepy toddler. I telephoned the next day to complain and was simply told it was a miscommunication. No apology. I asked to speak to the manager who I felt should be informed and was told they weren’t there. I asked for the manager to call me and no one ever has. Disgusting way to treat potential customers in my opinion and I will not be returning.

Went here before in 2019 with family and had a small child. Our experience was not great at this time. It was the summer and very hot which meant loads of people. We did not wait long to get seated but it seemed forever to get served. Yes everyone was busy but as it is a restaurant near the sea front this is something that would happen during this season and something the restaurant should be prepared for and to deal with this.On this occasion we waited about 30 mins to be served just for drinks. When we did get someones attention we ordered everything and the drinks seemed to also take a long time to come. The milkshake which a member of the party got seemed not great to look out. We had been in here over an hour and still had no food and I had a 2 year old who was getting very hungry. In the end we had to give up and left.I have since returned in July of this year with my partner and our now 3 year old. Due to cover it was very quiet this time round. We got seated and procedures were followed in terms of cleaning the tables and chairs before we sat down. We were not close to others who were in there. Drinks arrived straight away and the food took about 20 mins to come to us. Food was lovely.

Even if the food is ok the girl has the worst attitude. So rude!!! Wouldn’t go again the places either side have better chips as well and don’t speak to you like crap!

This is a nice restaurant although the music was extremely loud. We ordered a variety of foods from the menu as there was 9 of us and the food was ok apart from the scampi which was burnt and not very nice. The cod and chips are worth the high price they charge as it really was delicious. Sadly the service was poor and the waitress let the restaurant down with her approach.

Had a takeaway from Marina Fish 'n' Chips. The fish and chips were reasonable. The batter on it was not really staying but it wasn't smelly and was crispy. The chips were really nice and fluffy. But customer service was poor. Had to ask for tissue, forks, carrier bag (which is the bare minimum). The quality of the forks were bad and broke in our food.

Eating in here is always a joy. It's clean and the decor is cool. The food is always spot on and I love the ice creams you can get at the front. Perfect for families to grab some nicely cooked fish & chips with great table service.

We had a lovely dinner here on New Year's Day, only spoilt slightly by a lack of staff. The staff that were on duty were excellent, but rushed off their feet due to a very busy day. We really felt for them as some diners were less than kind. Food was plentiful and hot. Pretty quick considering how busy they were. Certainly planning a return later. To the waitress going on holiday to Sri Lanka ... have an amazing time, you've certainly earned it!!

We stopped by the sign saying wait to be seated along with a few other families were told sit where you like, so we did. 2 ladies were working on New Year’s Day neither acknowledged us after a while we were seated so we left. I would understand if we had been handed a menu or been told sorry be with you in 5 mins to take your order check out the menu while you are waiting. We left along with another family who also could not wait to be acknowledged. I said thank you on my exit for the fast service and she did not apologise but said there was nothing she could do. We we went next door to the chippy for lunch instead.

My wife and i travel all over Great Britain and found ourselves in Walton in november.being as its a seaside town we didnt expect to find anything open midafternoon that was anywhere good.The Beachhouse turned out to be a great surprise, The food was excellent and the staff couldnt have been nicer. If you live within driving distant off this well laid out restaurant give it a call ,in the summer we think it must be very busy but ANYTIME would be perfect plus the prices are reasonable.We comment on tripadvisor regulary and this is one of our favorites.

Amazing place. Staff are so friendly and helpful. There isnt anything they wont do to help. Food was amazing. Had one of there new roast dinners and it was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend here for dinner, beer wasnt bad either. :)

Foods great and the cocktails are great value. The best thing is the staff, the girl on the front bar is lovely, friendly and so helpful and all the others are very polite and kind too especially to my nan and grandad.

After having one of the best ever family days on the beach we decided to finish off with some genuine fish and chips at the Beach House.Only positive thing were the huge portions of chips, shame they were anemic and not very tasty, biggest disappointment was the Skate, mushy peas and tartar sauce that was listed on the specials board for a double figure price, bland but the best bit was the tartare sauce came in a satchet and every table had many of the same satchets with the rest of the sauces, stick to the COD as it wasn’t too bad for the money as it at least tasted of fish.

Total Cr#p ..considering the chip shop next door supplies the food to the restaurant we had to wait 30 minutes for our dinner..when it arrived considering it came from no more than 3 meters away it was stone cold three of us sent our dinner back..we got free drinks not the point it should of been hot..the toilets in there are a health hazard too..absolutely disgusting..and in our opinion totally over priced..go to the chip shop on the corner..better value and cheaper too..

We had a family meal last week for my daughters 14th birthday, they fitted us in last minute and stayed open for us, the food was lovely . Fresh. Hot and tasty . The staff were wonderful . So friendly and kind and brought our dog water too! We cannot wait to go back and visit again

The waitress was very friendly and pleasant. The 3 portions of haddock and chips were perfectly cooked. One of the few places in Walton where you can sit outside on a sunny day. Strawberry lemonade was good and pleased that they provide paper straws.

Burgers made of real meat,nice staff and good seating

We ate here on our first night in Walton. The menu isn't huge but had enough choice. The boys had burgers which were made with decent meat, my husband and I and my daughter had the fishermans basket which came with squid, prawns and cod bites. It was cooked really well and was a decent size portion. We were served quickly and they pulled tables together to accommodate us. The staff were friendly and our meal came to £46 for 5 of us which I thought was really reasonable, especially for the food we received. Would definitely recommend.

My friend who has just moved in locally recommended this place to us and In particular the Deep Fried Halloumi burger. Wow wow wow! The burger did not disappoint and neither did any of the other 7 dishes we ordered. The kids loved their HUGE burgers, my Dad loved his Codfather! Cod & chips and the little kid meals were brilliant value. It was a shame we didn’t have room for dessert because they looked bloody scrumptious!!!! We will just have to go back, never mind! Keep up the good work! Amazing food, drinks and staff x

Not sure what previous reviews meant by kids portions being too small, they were spot on for our two boys. Fish was cooked well and the surroundings are much nicer than the standard cafes. It was our smallest child's birthday on the day of our visit and the waitress helped out with putting some candles in and singing happy birthday! Definitely worth a visit

I have given you the extra star you deserve only because of where you are. One star for Walton, and one star for one of the most overpriced basic b**** meals I have ever eaten. I would also like to add the 45 minute wait i had was due to this restaurant cooking food for the other eatery next door. Vintage S does not approve at all.

Had a great experience here visiting the seaside. Really nice food and the drinks were nice and refreshing, our waitress chloe was very accomadation and represented the beach house very well. Will definitely be back

Looks great! We were happy to try this seaside venue for lunch but oh my goodness the food.In fairness the adult meals were decent. The staff were super lovely and helpful but the children’s meals were utterly appalling. One pallid fatty sausage and stone cold dry chipsOne portion of grey fish fingers and the same chips. Did you know fish fingers could be grey? I learned that today. I - wrongly - assumed that the fish would be decent. Being on the coast apparently does not mean this at all. Not good. Not good at all.
