Lovely, quirky feel to the place where Andy, wife and staff couldn't be more accommodating in all aspects. Nice outdoor seating area at the front and a conservatory like bar with rooms leading off it. Excellent array of ales and although we had arrived on the Wednesday which is the only day hot food isn't served we were offered and enjoyed a tasty pork pie with various pickles. A warm and friendly hostelry, well worth a visit!

Reviewed before but now eaten a couple of times since. Booked in advance and arrived early for a drink outside, the weather was good and it's a lovely country pub. Food was really tasty, it's no frills but foody Ludlow is only a few miles away if you want that. Really tasty lasagne, garlic bread was a little lacking in garlic butter and there were a few complaints about the oven chips being dry. Lovely pint of Wye Valley ale.

This is a quaint little pub with a community feel, clearly very popular with locals and families. Although definitely more centred around drinking than eating, the food was inexpensive and the portions were generous. It would be nice if it were a bit more obvious if they were serving food/how to order/seat etc. Soft drinks were also served in cans, although not an issue, it would be nice to see some more things on tap!

Absolutely cracking little pub in an old post office store, so big windows and scrubbed pine tables. Been meaning to pop in for ages to try the well kept beer - Wye Valley and Ludlow on when we visited, possibly more! Lots of CAMRA certificates displayed. Lovely landlord even though we only stayed for a pint and no food. 👌🏻

A total dump. The place is minging. Gross food, frozen peas, frozen chips frozen pie. Absolute trash for £13.50 and a lamb shank, chips and peas with Bisto gravy I wouldn't feed to my dog. That was £18.50. Cafe food that I would gladly have paid £6.95 and £10.50 for. Full of local goons, couldn't wait to pay and get out. 1st and last visit to this caff.

Called in here for a drink, it's a village pub off not far off the main drag. Nobody I knew had ever visited but it's a really nice place and serves the wonderful Butty Bach ale. Real locals pub, felt we were being watched by some of the regulars. There was a party on so no food but definitely worth a trip out, sat in the rare sunshine at the front, happy days.

We were staying at the local HPB site and visited the Apple Tree at Onibury as it was very local and dog friendly. We visited on a Friday evening and found it to be very much a locals pub were most areas full with people unwinding after a working week. We had booked a table so no problem finding a spot to eat. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was home cooked. We found the environment noisy but this may just have been due to it being a Friday night. We would go again but avoid a Friday o Saturday night when presumably it is busy with locals drinking who are obviously their core customer base.

Visited to meet my brother and exchange my mum back to him from a visit . Very local pub, it felt a little uncomfortable because of that, we were put in a back room separately which was fine as we had a dog with us . The food was good, and well priced for what it was. It felt like a proper pub in as much as it hadn't been made 'corporate ' like so many places are nowadays. So why the three stars , it was just something you couldn't quite put your finger on, whether it was the signs everywhere that were 'funny' but sort of felt as if they meant them , or just that it was a 'local pub for local people ' if you get my drift. Anyway we don't live locally and won't be rushing back, but maybe if we did we would feel differently. Everything else cleanliness etc was fine.

Following months of lock down , we decided to meet with the rest of our immediate family for a meal at the Apple Tree, This followed my daughter speaking to one of the staff and explaining that i was a shielded person, she was told that although the pub was closed for drinks ( Beer Garden only) we could have a room to our selves to eat. Can only say what a great evening it turned out to be. Good wholsome food much of which was localy sourced and at reasonable prices washed down with local ales ( 6 maincourses + sweets and a round of drinks a little over £100 . Can only say thank you Gill Andy and Becky for a great evening we will be back

We were staying a few miles away, as storm Denis had effectively given us no way out we decided to walk to the Appletree. Looking like a corner shop we had ignored it when we passed it a few days before. We waded through water to find our way to this pub to be delighted with the welcome of the landlord. The food, rich and tangy Stilton and broccoli soup followed by a hearty roast beef and good traditional pudding was a delight. The local Ludlow beer was just the cherry on the cake. The landlady then sorted us out with provisions for tea as well and off we went home, well feed and delighted.

Stayed close by for Christmas. Booked meal on the Saturday before Christmas for 6 adults, 6 children. We received an extremely warm welcome, nothing too much trouble for staff and owners. Food fantastic, tasty and served hot. A wonderful experience. We also walked there for a drink on Christmas Eve, again we were made to feel so welcome. The mulled wine was an instant hit, one of the best I have tasted. This is truly a friendly local pub and one we will make the hour plus journey from home to visit again. Onibury may have lost it's station, but thank goodness it still has it's village pub. The somewhat 'untypical' outside appearance is intriguing. Inside you will find a small, pleasant, no frills bar offering good, local ales served by welcoming, happy, staff and quite likely, a few village regulars to chat to, should you wish.

Strangely unhelpful and eccentric place. Phoned to ask whether they could accommodate a vegetarian and vegan. Was met with incredulity and rudeness. There are many millions of people in the U.K. who prefer to avoid the products of the cruel meat and dairy industries. It’s a shame this place lives in the past. Would not recommend.

At first sight, the Apple Tree is not obviously a pub. Originally built as one, it was converted into the village shop, before being turned back into a pub relatively recently. It's got a great intimate atmosphere, with bar space in the 'shop window' area, as well as a cosy side lounge. Beers are from the excellent Ludlow Brewery, and I had a very tasty brie and bacon baguette.

Went for the first secret diner club evening that is run by Jess who owns the fab 'not today seitan' in liar liar..what can i say?.the food was on another level. Litrally the best vegan food in Oswestry and way surpasses anything else available in a vegan cafe in Oswestry. The food was beautifully presented, the flavours were amazing and the cocktails were beautiful too. Really hope the owner decides to run these evenings on a regular basis although once word gets around i imagine getting a table will be really difficult. Its great to see a vibrant young business do so well and honestly the co trading with Liar liar is such a brilliant idea. Two amazing businesses running side by side. I cannot recommend this highly enough, the best vegan resturant/cafe in town by far

Very very disappointing...we booked for Sunday lunch..big mistake. We were not greeted on arrival, there wasn't even anyone behind the bar for us to let them know we had arrived.... But from there it went downhill....we were put on the smallest table in the furthest corner despite there being lots of much nicer empty tables available..we eventually managed to order drinks and asked to order food..The waitress mumbled something and walked off....a lovely young man delivered our drinks and said the young lady would be back.....when she returned to take our food order we asked what she had said, apparently it was they had lamb....then we tried to order but what she actually meant was they only had lamb nothing else and mostly no veg either...one of our party doesnt eat red meat so lamb wasnt an option but the waitress did nothing to try to help the problem...no offer to check if the kitchen could help.....I really could understand this situation if we were walk ins but we had booked...they knew we were coming....why would you not attempt to provide at least one other choice We drove to Bridgnorth from Shrewsbury to take some family out for a treat and thats the best they could offer....obviously we will not return.
