Booked to go to the Brewhouse to take friends as always had a really nice time there. When we got there the Brewhouse was totally quiet with only one table being used. The open fired kitchen was closed. Then a waitress came in and we asked about our reservation she said we were booked in the pub. I said I booked the Brewhouse. She said that it’s only now serving the Antelope menu and is an over flow for the pub. As we were meeting friends I felt really responsible. At least having a table in the pub meant there was more atmosphere but that was it. I ordered a large glass of Malbec which the bar staff emptied the dregs of 3bottles. I said I wasn’t happy to the manager who agreed and instructed staff not to open a new bottle until the open one is finished. Then there was the food… so utterly disappointing. We had to burnt smashed burgers on cold wet buns and unmelted cheese. My fries had the schnitzel which had to be sent back as it was literally black with char. Clearly the kitchen staff have no sense of pride in their craft. Bring back the Brewhouse. It was the only reason to actually eat at The Antelope. Very sad indeed and a real missed opportunity

Awful food. Roast is a plate of tough meat, soggy potatoes and boiled veg that tastes of rubber. Complete rubbish. Such as shame as it used to be amazing. Would not eat there again. £90 wasted!

Having been going on and off for years was shocked and how the quality of the food has dropped. Burgers used to be the best in the area but now average and portion of fries half the size and no slaw anymore. Atmosphere and beers still great but that’s it won’t be heading there again for food anymore.

This is how a pub should be - cosy yet cool amazing array of ales and bonus of great pizzas. We stopped by as the local Italian was closed and I’m so glad we did - roaring fire great pizza and a gorgeous pint of pale ale, good music from Vinyls and chat from the friendly bar staff. I wish this was my local!

We had our works christmas party here for 30 people and i just want to say how amazing Friday was for us on our work do. Could not fault the food and the service from everyone! We all thought you did a fantastic job with getting all food out on time and the portion sizes were great. So good that we want to return on our next nights out and next years christmas do. All your staff are so lovely and very helpful when the men didn't know what to drink the would recommend and give tasters. I cant remember the gentleman name that was looking after us but just wanted to give him a big thanks to he made us all feel very welcome and very friendly, he did a great job. We would highly recommend your pub, lovely atmosphere in there. Some of us younger ones are looking in to coming to your pub for new year :) Thank you again it really was enjoyable. We went on a Sunday late afternoon. The greeting and service was warm and friendly but the roast dinner was the worst we’ve had in a long time. Food was lukewarm, Yorkshire puds oily and cold, meat was average. A real shame as we’ve heard good things.

The pub is humming with a great atmosphere. What would have been a most fantastic choice of real ales was in reality limited to just one real ale if one wanted a traditional bitter; the countless others were all pale ales. The very basic and limited choice of food options were just OK but expensive for what was delivered. Past experiences that often included more interesting dining options (smoked brisket/duck salad etc. etc.) were no longer evident. A shame.

On the first visit, I came here, after the first day of the British Beer Festival, up at Olympia, with a couple of friends. Arrived just after 8 pm, and for a Tuesday, the venue was extremely busy - both inside and outside. Really nice, cosy, interior, with different levels, leading to an excellent outside area, plus several, covered, booths (with heaters), down the side of the pub - and another, enclosed area - for dining. Staff are excellent and very friendly, and there is a good array of beers etc. Returned on the 7th, having enjoyed the first visit, a great deal, and had, yet another great evening. Excellent location.

The Anteope remains a firm favourite, however I do need to critique the food this time. 10 of us dined in the brewhouse and all apart from one, had the steak deal. The price of the Thursday steak deal is very good (it includes a drink), however I have noticed that on this and my previous visit, the quality of the meat has deteriorated. It's fair to say that the majority on our table found the steaks to be rather fatty sinewy & to top it off, not cooked as ordered. It was too busy really for us to cause a fuss and only one of our number decided to send his steak back. I would say that the chef was out of his depth trying to cook so many steaks (the brewhouse was full) to order. It did seem that the place was under-staffed, with one exceptional and charming waitress running around doing the lion's share of looking after customers. The chef was alone (it must have been stressful for him) and there was another waitress behind the bar who didn't seem to get involved a great deal. So on the whole, I still love the Antelope, however I will give the steak a miss for a while and hopefully it will improve. I rather hope that the staffing can be tweaked to reflect how busy the place can get. I felt sorry for the chef and the very busy waitress !

Probably the worst meal we have ever had in a pub or restaurant. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was closed. The steak at £23.95 was almost inedible - dried up and half full of gristle with a sauce that tasted like gravy - and the burger at a whopping £16.95 (plus an additional £1 to swap skin on chips for chunky chips) was average at best, with nothing at all on the side and very limited chips. We had one drink with our food, voted with our feet and left wishing we'd eaten at home. Such a shame as we've lived locally for many years and the manager and staff are always really friendly and welcoming. We would have complained directly to the bar staff but there was a long queue at the bar and it was just too much hassle.

Booked a table for 4 at the Brew House. Got there and they had moved us to the pub. In the pub we had an hour and a half to order and eat before we were kicked off our table even before we had finished our drinks. The menu in the pub is not the same as the brew house and most of the menu had sold out by the time we ordered at 6pm!! We had booked to eat and sit in the brew house and were unceremoniously told that we couldn’t have our table in there. At no point while we were there did we see the brew house full! This place offers decent pub food and friendly service and I'm glad to see they survived through a difficult few months, as this place is much loved by the people of Surbiton. As many of you will have guessed from other reviews, if you walk in looking for a pretentious London gastro pub that lacks any resemblance to a proper pub, you're in the wrong place. If you fancy a pint and a bit of pub grub with a fun atmosphere however, nowhere in Surbiton compares.

Me and s lips arrived and were asked if we had booked and apparently they do take bookings and were full. Kindly the chap found us a two seater and we went for the ribs on a Dishi special. The ribs arrived and the staff could find any knives. We toiled away at eating and cutting ribs with just a fork, but what a palaver! We never did get a knife between us. Sadly the ribs were so fatty I wouldn’t have them again. The staff try hard, but this place is just average as you like for food and drink. You can expect to pay a full price for: been offered a menu to choose from only to be told they can serve burgers only. But yes, why not? Then, if you prefer it well done, unfortunately they are unable to do it. You will be served a bloody burger and a shrug from their waiting staff. Also, your water glass will be served with a beer smell from their busy Sunday day. After all, you will be told that it is Sunday night and they can’t do nothing about it. I’ve heard good things about this place, but what a waste of money and time! They might as well shut the place on Sunday evenings instead of offering such poor service.

Popped in here for a crisp pint around midday on Friday as the sun was shining and a beer garden felt like a great idea. 3 hours later I managed to tear myself away. I was introduced to the brewery’s own Sicilian lemon gin, which I had with lemonade, it was probably the nicest drink I’ve ever had and there were a few to follow! It’s distilled in Kingston, my hometown so even better, I like to support local businesses. I wasn’t going to eat but saw so many nice dishes being carried out I decided to have a snack. The prawns with green curry sauce, so delicious they actually spurred me onto a burger, this was absolutely amazing, medium rare, it melted in the mouth. It came with truffle chips but my eyes were bigger than my belly and I couldn’t manage them but the few I had were equally tasty. Coupled with this the service was amazing. I should have got his name because he deserves to be mentioned. Dark hair, beard, so friendly and attentive from the get go. He offered to charge my hand fan as it run out and brought water without being asked. He then proceeded to fulfill all my orders quickly and with a smile, he’s a credit to you. As a Kingston resident I usually drink round here but I’ll definitely be visiting again. I never leave reviews but everything was 10/10 so felt it had to be done! Keep up the good work :)

Considering the price charged, this was disappointing. We ordered from the Antelope tonight on Deliveroo as the reviews were excellent. We’ve been into the pub for a drink but haven’t eaten in so we were looking forward to trying the food. My partner had a brisket burger which he enjoyed, but my fried chicken burger was atrocious. At £13.95 for a burger and chips you’d expect something decent, but the chicken was burnt beyond all recognition and totally inedible. Possibly the worst piece of meat I’ve ever been served. Won’t be bothering again!

So much more than a pub, it is a community! Best pub in Surbiton, with a fantastic selection of beers, ciders and food menu!

We booked a table at the smoke house located at the back of the pub. Separate kitchens to the pub food. A great selection of drinks in the pub. Lovely char grilled meats and tacos for lunch. They could do with a coffee machine but the coffee tequila made a great substitute. A great location for a friends Saturday lunch

Went her with family for dinner and booked a table. Told we had a 6pm-8pm slot. No problem. Did get a bit p1ssed off when got told two or three times from 7:15pm onwards that we had to leave by 8pm. Yes. We know!!! And we will!!! Stop going on about it!Food was pretty good. Beers were pretty good - but please learn how to serve real ale!So I can’t decide whether I like this place. Give it a go, as it could be good but there does seem to a pattern of staff arrogance based on this and other reviews. Sort it out guys - this place has a lot of potential!

Spent the evening here with a big group of friends, spending the best part of £300 between us.An awesome range of Cask, Craft and Cider; we were having a very pleasant evening until closing time! Most of the staff were polite and courteous in asking us to leave except Daniel - a rude, obnoxious, jumped up jobsworth who even threated to take one of our party outside! This incident spoilt a very enjoyable evening.Maybe Daniel would benefit from a course on people skills?

Should be great. Isn't. Attitude from staff appalling. Have been here for a function as well as just for a pint or two. Both poor experiences. For functions expect a ridiculous hire charge and ‘minimum spend’. If you hire the space until 2330, expect the bar to be closed at 1045, music turned off and lights turned up. Staff attitude universally confrontational. I just don’t understand it. Maybe there are just too many people attending the pub for them to be bothered – and herein lies the other problem. They have absolutely milked this place. Chairs and seats everywhere, but this ‘urban sprawl’ has outrun the basic amenities. I have already mentioned that service is miles behind where it should be, but so is provision of basic services. There isn’t an inch to move on a Saturday – that’s not ‘atmosphere’ or ‘vibe’ it’s just greed – trying to open up as many areas as possible. So expect long queues at the bar as people are served in the order of who the bar staff happen to favour that evening. Seating and personal space aren’t the only things that haven’t kept up – check out the toilets! Absolutely tiny and the same provision the pub offered when it was half its current size. Stand more than one person at the urinals in the Gents and you’ll feel your married to anyone else who dares squeeze in! It’s just greed. Why provide adequate facilities when you can crowbar in another table or two eh? There is also zero regard to making the pub accessible. They managed to find goodness knows how many hundreds of thousands to convert the laughably self-indulgent brewery to a function room. It is a nice space – they have spent a bomb (of your takings) on it. Seemingly however, they couldn’t find the money or space for a disabled toilet. I suppose people in wheelchairs aren’t as profitable so why bother? Why? Because it is 2020 that’s why! The world has grown up. Shame the staff and management haven’t. The food is okay. Infatuation with pulled meat is bizarre but some of the dishes are very nice and genuinely well cooked. I can only assume that the front of house and management have no input to the kitchen otherwise they would sit another cover on your plate and make them wait 15 minutes for a bit of arrogant and aggressive service.

Great pub, good selection of beers too. One qualm was the bartender (Daniel) raining the last orders bell to kick us out when we were all already standing and making our way out of the pub. So unnecessary and it wasn’t even like we still had full pints, it was before midnight on a Friday night!

Went here on Friday 28th Feb for a family birthday. We had a very enjoyable evening apart from one rude barman, who I think was called Daniel. He tried to collect glasses that still had drink in them, aggressively rang the bell at the end of the evening and then rudely yelled at us to leave saying we’d stayed too long. When we told him there was no need to be rude he started to argue with us. I will never frequent this pub again which is a shame as we quite liked it. We pent a lot of money in this pub and would expect to be treated courteously. I think he would benefit from some training in customer service skills .

We had a large party of people (20+). They got our arrival time wrong, I was told the odd additional attendee could be catered for, it wasn't. All food was served on cold plates ( roast dinner) Food was good although some had cold veg. And the bill was cocked-up ( in our favour) which I queried but wasn't acted upon till later, after I left.

Six of us for dinner (4 adults 2 kids) Staff were amazing, very friendly and attentive. Lovely room - great space! Food was ok - nothing particularly to write home about and I think over priced. For six of us the price was £220 - that is with 2 kids and only 3 of the adults having 2 beers each! I don’t like having to pay extra for veg and chips - especially when ordering a burger I think this should come automatically with chips! Nice but wouldn’t go back.

Went to the BrewHouse at the antelope for a Birthday meal with friends. The old refurbished barn/shed has been turned into a grill restaurant and has a great atmosphere. 2 of shared the grill platter which had lots of tasty chargrilled meat. The other couple had a shared taco platter where you make up your own tacos. All the food was soo tasty and we shared it around. A special mention to the roast mashed sweet potato which was amazing.

We’ve eaten here on numerous occasions, the burgers have always been pretty good but now even better simply by the fact they’re served on a plate without the sheet of grease proof underneath... so much better! My pie of the day was really nice too!

5 of us + one dog had a great lunch on Saturday afternoon. We all had croquettes to start, which were great. We then shared two portions of tacos between us, which were delicious especially the brisket. Finally for desert we had Oreo cheesecake which was brilliant. The service was spot on and they couldn't have done more to make us comfortable. All in all a great experience

We ate in the brewhouse . The Sunday sharing roast platter . Great portions , 4 different meats and 4 Veg sides all nice and fresh. The quality was excellent . The only downside was the cool plates and serving dishes . As the portions were so good and we were enjoying a leisurely lunch and chat the food went cold quickly . Much hotter serving dishes would have made the difference . That said I am sure I will go back as it’s a lovely venue and good price £18 per head

A vibrant atmosphere, busy at all times, an amazing range of on tap beers and ciders (over 30) - some from their microbrewery, and delicious food at reasonable prices. The homemade burgers (with optional jalapenos) are great and their bbq marinated ribs are to die for. A must place to drink and eat
