Brilliant seafood starters. Cosy atmosphere and great service. Varied menu encompassing Welsh specialities and tasty pub grub, nice cold beer and soft drinks. Definitely recommend the chips as they are very crispy. Mushy peas with a twist. We enjoyed our meal in the secluded den watched over by a giant grizzly bear. A must visit if you are in the area!

I had a lovely meal here on a Saturday afternoon, well worth the travel. The food was amazing, especially the crispy belly pork! Will definitely be back.

After 2 previous unplanned visits and having amazing service and food …… today I booked a lunch time table for 10 people and room for a pushchair. I can honestly say this place is great. The food is awesome and amazing value. The staff are lovely and all facilities are clean. I totally recommend a visit ❤️

We have just enjoyed a three night stay at this pub with rooms. Narelle and her team have been so lovely friendly AND know exactly what they are doing. Breakfasts have been very nice and freshly cooked too. We invited our Son and his fiancee to join us for Sunday lunch. WOW, it was gorgeous! It was like eating a proper, home-cooked meal. Very generous portions of meat and vegetables. Thank you to Narelle, her chef and her team for the excellent hospitality, in all ways.

Today we went on a recommendation from a caravan park we where staying 5 minutes drive away. I was able to book for 2.30pm via whats app. This was very handy. On arrival they did there absolute best to accommodate us and made us feel extremely comfortable. Unfortunately due to covid we had to sit out side. The weather took a turn for the worst 😫. It was lovley that we where able to change our menu option to a take away last minute. We took our full cooked dinner for 4 and 4 puddings home to the caravan. The food was amazing, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, roasted carrots sweet and parsnip, cabbage, turkey and beef, yorkshire puddings and gravey. ( propper home cooked dinner) Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, brownie and chocolate sauce. Whilst waiting for our meal the very polite chatty and accommodating from the start owner had perfect customer service. What a lovley lady! Lovley place we are looking forward to going here again. Perhaps we can fetch sun 🌞 next time.

I booked a Sunday lunch at the Angel on 6th December for 4 of us after travelling from neath to pick a Christmas tree at Salem Christmas tree farm. The booking process through Facebook was quick and friendly and we were able to view the menu in advance. When we got there every precaution was taken to ensure we were covid safe and the guys who served us were friendly and professional and even added pigs in blankets to meals on request. It's a lovely pub and the food was excellent and reasonable for a 3 course Christmas dinner.

Lovely evening meal at the Angel. The menu is simple and very reasonable with attentive and welcoming staff. We had the halloumi and squid to start which was extremely tasty, followed by the vegan curry and scampi. Overall very impressed with the food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

When this was recommended to us we were advised that we should book in advance but thought we’d give it a try anyway, upon arrival they were busy but managed to seat us. Kellie-Gwen and Vicky both saw too it that a range of allergies (Gluten, Soya, Dairy & Egg) could be accommodated for and were friendly and polite throughout. We had starters of Halloumi, Chicken Goujons and Whitebait, all were delicious and very well priced! Then mains of Steak (1 medium and 1 rare) were very tasty and the other 2 enjoyed a beef burger and chips - all plates were left clean and I would definitely visit this place again if I was local! Thank you Kellie-Gwen, Vicky and others we were served by for fabulous customer service and such lovely food!

We were planning to stay overnight in our campervan however were put off by the car park being so open to nearby houses and our dogs disappeared straight up into somebody's garden. Otherwise good halfway stop for the tour of Beacons etc, hook up, and bar food on tap.

Called on the way home a little disappointed because there wasn't a full menu on that night but all the same we enjoyed our meal and will visit again very soon

Very tasty and well presented meals. The selection was very good with a good range of gluten free options and vegan or vegetarian choices available. Some of the best vegan food I’ve tried in a while.

The bar service was good. Taking good notice of the customers. The buffet was varied, but not a good standard.

Friendly staff, great food and drinks! A really nice space to hold a function or event (in our case it was a birthday) The staff at The Angel Inn could not do enough for us and the lunch buffet was delicious and they are able to easily cater for our large group. Great time had by all and would highly recommend.

This is a great find. I've known of the reputation of the place for many years but have only now got around to visiting. The food was very good, freshly prepared and nicely presented which is always a bonus. The place was quiet but we had a great welcome from the hosts. The place has that lovely smell of woodsmoke and we bagged the seats next to the fire. It is quite big with many tables and has a decent sized car park. The place sits in an area of amazing countryside with walks and bike-trails all near.

Visited for an unplanned lunch, friendly welcome, good service and delicious food. Plan to return soon.

Went with my wife for her works do and the place was full not overcrowded. There was a good pre selection and all fell into place on the night. The food was excellent for the number attending. Easy to get to the bar for drinks and friendly and helpful staff. The girls serving on the tables were smart and efficient and soon cleared away after each course. Nice seasonal ambiance with being overdone.The live entertainment was very professional and loud, but I was sitting next to a speaker! Overall and well presented evening that we enjoyed very much, well done.

A lovely welcome on a cold and miserable night. Log fires burning - very welcoming. The atmosphere was friendly and jovial. A straightforward menu, the food was good with an excellent steak, a perfect medium rare. Waiting staff still learning the ropes but very pleasant. Only downside was that the while you wait bites arrived with the starters, which defeated the object. All round a very pleasant evening and we will be going back.

Not visited The Angel for number of years as quality poor, but thought with new owners, would give it a try. Limited menu, but good, fresh food. The surprise was the pepper sauce, which was much better than it should be for a "village pub" - complex and with exceptional depth of flavour. Whatever you choose to eat, try the pepper sauce! Wonderfull, and at £2.50, better than many renouned establishments. Positive feel about the pub, (although the waitresses were still learning the ropes). Really worth a visit, and we are likely to be returning as a "regular".

I have always loved the Angel in Salem so pleased to find it back up and running with excellent friendly service. Food good and they even had my favourite spare ribs on the menu the evening we were there. Will be back again when in the area. Have no hesitation in recommending.

We had a superb meal thanks to Narelle and her team of helpers. Courteous and welcoming staff, nothing was too much for them. Impeccable service.All 42 of us had all our courses delivered smoothly and on time. Each course was delicious. The dining room was spacious and allowed us to have our annual presentations and photographs. If you are a group searching for a venue large enough and capable enough to cater to your needs, then I would unreservedly recommend this family run country pub .Diolch, Narelle

It's lovely to find a cosy country pub that does great food, & where you and your dogs are warmly welcomed. We'll definitely be back when we're next in the area. The Sunday lunch was gorgeous, as were the other meals we had there. Highly recommended! :-)

We got a great welcome and had a friendly rapport with our host Narelle. She was also very accommodating to our needs and nothing was too much trouble. The same goes for Kevin the bartender.

we really love coming to this pub, especially on a cold and wet day when they have a roaring log fire. Yet another fab meal and recommend the crab or goujons to start and the specials list was great as always. Such a lovely atmosphere and dogs welcomed. the atmosphere is lovely and friendly with many locals, like us, but also groups from further afield or on holiday. Narrelle and her family have transformed the pub and the menus since taking over in June and now have b&b; upstairs as well. Our previous visit here was thirty years ago when it had excellent reviews and tonight's visit was very much the same, apart from the modernisation the place has been subjected to over the years. The friendly atmosphere greets you as you enter the door and the well lit, spacious and comfy bar area is pleasant to sit in whilst waiting to be shown to your table if your intention is to dine. The food was extremely high quality and very reasonably priced, served in spacious, comfortable surroundings. Narelle and her team are doing a great job and deserve every success. Won't be waiting another thirty years before going back.

We met a friend for lunch at The Angel Inn, which is under new management. There is a lovely, olde world atmosphere here and along with the crackling log fire made us feel warm and welcome. It is a family run business and the hostess is really pleasant.

We walked a 2 hour country walk to this lovely pub and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely food and fantastic service! Can’t wait to return! Worth the walk.

Checked in to the angel inn Saturday afternoon and was greeted by a really nice guy who runs the pub with his wife , we were taken to our rooms I had booked and we were pleased with what we booked the rooms where spotless and very comfortable with both rooms en-suite bathrooms with great showers.

I went with a group of local ladies to lunch yesterday and there was a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to greet us. The menu was extensive and there’s something for everyone! I chose a chicken escalope from the specials board. It was absolutely yummy! The chicken was moist and thick and well seasoned with garlic butter and the sweet potato chips were sooooo crisp and tasty. Topped off with homemade coleslaw. Absolutely delicious meal and would highly recommend the cheesy garlic bread, too!!!

Another visit and really enjoyed the hospitality and the food. They have a French chef and the specials are excellent and have been different each time we have eaten there. Back again on Thursday for a ladies lunch with locals. They have redecorated the restaurant and the toilets are all new and modern. Also doing b&b; upstairs which is proving popular. Lovely family who live in the village running The Angel and really trying hard. Highly recommend

I have known this pub restaurant for many years. Now under new management it is everything you would want - A great welcome, relaxed atmosphere, very good food at reasonable prices and a very well presented environment. I have visited a few times recently and each time has been a delight. With the pub getting busier and busier I cannot be the only one that is glad to return. I reguarly visit relatives locally so will be back soon. I have seen the new B&B; rooms and expect to use them soon. Couples, groups, families or singletons - this place welcomes and accomodates everyone. Thank you!!

Turned up just before 1 on a Sunday lunch time to half empty pub and told not taking any more orders. Really not acceptable.

Had three meals since the new owners took over a few weeks ago. The menu is simple and the food is very tasty (try the curry) plentiful and great value for money. It’s certainly nowhere near restaurant prices. Staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. Highly recommended, and no, I’m not a member of staff, just a happy customer who will definitely be back for more.

i truly cannot believe places like this run as a business and make money, managers attitude was disgusting, food was cold, i am sure that 99% of these reviews are written by the staff because it does not reflect the actual food you get this place was truly cheap pub grub with a bit of garnish and lets charge twice the amount, Not For Me Sorry

We recently visited after winning a free carvery through the radio. What a treat this was. Absolutely stunning Sunday lunch with so much choice. Will definitely be returning

We went out here for a Mother's Day meal in a party of 10. The cavery was fresh, hot and tasty. There were many options for dessert which were delicious. The restaurant was fully booked. The pricing is average. Due to a busy day the starters took an hour to arrive at the table. The tables weren't cleaned from drinks and plates for some time after we finished and the toilets needed to be cleaned and replenished with loo roll and hand wash. Staff were polite but it was under staffed for such a busy day.

Booked late and wasnt an issue at all, lovely atmosphere and fantastic carvery. Food was hot and fresh and excellent value for money! Thank you

Just come back from Sunday lunch and all I can say is wow! Lovely little place with a real homely feel. Had a warm welcome from the bar staff when we came in and very good service from our waitress. Food served by carvery with really good selection of vegetables and perfectly cooked meat. Proper roasties and Yorkshire puds and nice thick gravy. Desserts were plenty to choose from and very tasty and kids were fascinated by the stuffed bear that stands on entering. Best place I’ve eaten in a good while! Diolch!

We visited on a Saturday night with 4 children and 4 adults. The team behind the bar were really friendly, letting us try the ales before buying them. The food was fantastic, really tasty and big portions. They were happy to amend the the meals to suit the tastes of the children. We all loved it there and would be very happy to go back or recommend it to others.

The Sunday carvery is absolutely outstanding. Visited The Plough in Rhosmaen last Sunday for lunch and this establishment is far superior. The flavours are delicious. Well done all !

Visited The Angel, Salem on Sunday 30th December 2018 for a family lunch. What a surprise and also what an amazing difference from when we last visited in 2017!! Firstly, the staff are lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The Carvery was utterly delicious. Compliments to the chef. Choice of beef, pork or turkey, all delicious and carved to your taste, fabulous roast pots, along with all other vegetables (huge selection!!) with all the trimmings. Best cauliflower cheese I've tasted other than my own! A few of us had the starters, smoked salmon fish cakes and creamy mushrooms, which were lovely. Thank you to all the staff. I was very concerned about visiting again as the last visit in 2017 was quite dire, but, this was gorgeous!! Well done and please continue the great work!! Highly recommend.

We enjoyed a delicious and generous carvery, which was just what we were looking for. Cheesecake was great too. The staff were very friendly and helpful in accommodating our one year old.

On a visit to The Angel recently after a long wait the lonesome waitress took our orders. Some of the members in our group chose a curry and requested !/2 and 1/2 rice and chips to go with it. The waitress insisted we could not do that unless we paid £1.50 extra for the chips!

The pub itself was clean and tidy. The menu offered a good selection and was of a good quality. My disappointment was in the service which was slow. The serving area was divided into two sections and every now and then, customers from the other side to us would drift into our side looking for someone to serve. There as just one lady coping with everything. Perhaps on another day it would have been better,

Caratteristico pub. Siamo entrati per caso ( per un'amante di Stephen King trovarsi a mangiare a Salem di fianco ad un cimitero è stato un richiamo troppo forte!) è devo dire un po' scettici inizialmente perché il locale era deserto. Beh, mi sono tranquillizzata in fretta. I piatti sono arrivati dopo un po' di attesa, ma quella giusta, del resto le cose che arrivano in fretta sanno di microonde no? Piatti ottimi e la cameriera molto gentile e sorridente. Se mai tornassi da queste parti ci farei di sicuro un salto. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.

The Angel does a great Sunday carvery. Usual three meat selection of pork, beef and turkey. I had 'trio' and they were all cooked as I like them, the beef was well cooked as I dont like the fashion for 'medium'. An excellent selection of vegetables with no restrictions. The 'pudding' list had a selection of cold or hot choices but I couldnt enjoy any, as the main meal filled me to the top ;-) . My son had the 'Toblerone' cheesecake and ice cream which I did sample ;-) and it was delicious. A lovely fruit cider in stock as well. Service was attentive but she didnt always get it right. All in all we all thoroughly enjoyed our first visit.

Headed here before a weekend away. Can't fault the service friendly and professional.

Called in on random visit to the area, excellent service friendly, welcoming and staff very happy to help. We ate outside as we had our dog with us but even our dog was catered for with a bowl of water. The food was delicious with home cooked chips and delicious onion rings, our steak was perfectly cooked. My husband was impressed with the range of cider. The children were happy with third meals but even happier with the enclosed beer garden with park. I'd happily return again to try more on what looked like a better than average menu

The food here is just outstanding. The beef was so good, it practically melted in the mouth. Accompanied with all the usual vegetables, everything was excellent.

Sunday carvery was excellent with a good selection of meats and vegitables. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the bar had a good selection of beers.

Went to The Angel on Saturday night, haven't been for our 6 years or so, just as good now as it was then <3 Will be back for sure... Had a Great vegetarian menu, wine was lovely, staff were really helpful - I give a 10/10 :D And it was so quiet and beautiful in the beer garden.

I won a competion through Radio Carmarthenshire, Make my Monday, winning Sunday carvery for 2 at The Angel Inn at Salem Llandeilo.

We had eaten lunch at this pub previously and raved about the triple cooked chips. This time we were very disappointed with our evening meal. We shared a starter of hot and spicy chicken wings. The only thing hot was the cooking. Wings lacked any flavour and there was nothing hot and spicy about them. For mains I had scampi and chips, didn't want peas, everything was overcooked and when it arrived my partner said it all looked dry. He was right. The chips were hard, as was the scampi. My partner had steak and ale pie. He had the same overcooked chips and said the pie was ok. We both had dessert, apple and blackberry crumble and chocolate fudge cake. There was nothing wrong with them but they were a bit underwhelming.

I visit the Angel Inn periodically to check out the experience - once again the pub is under new owners and in a new incarnation. I have banged on in previous reviews about how the restaurant of this pub use to be tremendous with a considerable local reputation and was certainly special occasion dining where patrons were treated to innovative and delicious cuisine. This incarnation is not it. The menu is rather bland pub grub - what we had (scampi and chips) was ok but not exciting in any way.I thought the bill was tad expensive considering the averageness of the food. We went in at 5.30 and we were rather intrigued that the serving staff outnumbered us four to one ( we were the only cover in the restaurant.) To be generous, perhaps they were expecting a later rush. The pub totally lacks atmosphere and some of the tables were dusty and crummy. The service was polite and friendly but I do object to everything I say being "no problem." I don't expect it to be a problem if I am in a restaurant ordering from their menu - that's why I am there!

We couldn't have been more grateful to all the staff especially Glenis at the Angel Inn. She helped us store our bags after a traumatic time of our car breaking down. The food was amazing, we ate there 3 times so wasn't a fluke. On our last visit we had a few drinks in the beer garden, Glenis came and took our order up there and a member of staff came to tell us ur food was ready so we could eat inside.The staff went above and beyond for us. I can highly recommend this lovely country pub. Very friendly place.

We came across this little gem of a place on our travels over Easter weekend. Lovely helpful staff especially Dorian what a star he was catered to our every whim. Sunday lunch was delicious would definitely recommend a visit. We will definitely return.

I visited the angel with my family on Sunday. I was told new chefs had arrived there. I was not disappointed. The carvery looked superb. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the meat was second to none. I was extremely impressed with the quality and size of the Yorkshire puddings (and so was my daughter). Obviously highly talented and experienced chefs. So worth a visit. Well done, we will be seeing you more regularly. Thanks for a lovely meal! :)

Yesterday we had a great family gathering thanks to Jo and all of the staff.

We went here for my mums 50th (23/2/18). The food was amazing, presented nicely & plenty of it! Every one of us were over the moon with our food & really enjoyed ourselves. Staff were very welcoming. Great place to take family for food. A lovely place & highly recommend! Our new favourite place to go for food & already planning our next visit. Highly recommend, 10/10. :-)

We were staying local and popped in here the service was amazing and the bar very friendly. We came back to have the Sunday carvery and were not disappointed, the portions were very generous and the food excellent quality.

Went to Angel Salem for my birthday meal with family . The food was outstanding and the service. Couldn't do enough for us all. A lovely pub with a homely feel. Would go back I would recommend it to anyone. Joio mas draw.

My husband stayed here recently using the Brit Stop directory. Made to feel very welcome, they even called due to his late arrival and put up a meal for him and a friend, excellent and welcoming hosts. Highly recommend.

Under new management and really worth a visit. Special trip though, not really on the way to anywhere; but great sunday roast. Pricier than previous but very good quality. Open fires, clean. Worth a visit. Not open mondays and tuesdays though.

I was taken here for a surprise date so I had no idea what to expect! I was definitely very pleasantly surprised. The space itself was pretty nice.

Had a super night here on New Years Eve. The hot buffet was delicious, and plenty of it. We danced all night, with great music from the band ‘Oldscool’. The people of Llandeilo are so lucky to have such a great country Pub as this. Will definitely be back to try the Sunday Carvery.

An amazing night had by all. Paul and Jo are fab new owners. Food excellent and we stayed in our caravan with electric behind the pub. So convenient and Paul could not do enough to make our stay comfortable.

We had a lovely Sunday Lunch at this rustic pub on New Years Eve. The owners were friendly and welcoming; the service and attention to detail was equally impressive. There were plenty of choices of meat at the carvery, of which I had the beef, tender and succulent, cooked to perfection. My partner had the pork, which was less tender, but tasty. Great vegetable choice with wonderful roasted parsnips and potatoes. And the gravy tasted just like mother's! We had no room for desserts but finished with coffee instead. THank you, we'll be back.

We have just had a great night seeing in the New Year with wonderful hosts Paul and Jo, who were both extremely friendly and welcoming. The food is first class and great value for money, we will certainly be visiting here again, even though it's an hours drive from where we live. P.s we decided to spend New Year's Eve here after visiting the previous Friday and was equally impressed with everything then also.

Food was delicious, amazing chips, arrived very quickly and was plentiful. Game pie was incredibly good. Service was efficient and fast. Staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. Not many country pubs like this left, i”ll definitely be back.

A very warm and friendly place with a cosy atmosphere. The food is really good and enjoyable. There are a couple of real ales on sale which were equally enjoyable. On the whole, highly recommended!

Came here last weekend for Sunday dinner. Was amazed with the SIX different choices of meat for the carvery, lamb, pork, beef, gammon, chicken, and turkey. We even had pigs in blankets. The gammon was absolutely outstanding and probably the best Sunday dinner I’ve ever had. I will definitely come back again very soon. Top draw!

We had a our wedding reception here for 40 people and we were blown away with the quality of the food and staff.

On this visit, our first since the pub reopened, our family enjoyed a wonderful Saturday evening meal. The choice of food was amazing and everything prepared to perfection yet served very quickly. The owners took time to chat with everyone. They have refurbished the pub beautifully and the ambience is warm and welcoming. Thank you, Jo, Paul and staff for providing a such a pleasant experience. Thank goodness the owners have taken over running the Angel once again. I had stopped going there under the previous management. This is a very nice, welcoming country pub once again. We have eaten here twice in the last month - once for dinner and once for Sunday lunch. On both occasions the food was excellent and good value for money. The evening menu is extensive and interesting. Sunday lunch is a carvery but there was a fish and vegetarian option as well. I'm not usually a big fan of carvery but we thoroughly enjoyed this one. There was an extensive choice of beautifully cooked meat and vegetables. Would definitely recommend.

We used to frequent this pub/ restaurant in the past but after some poor experiences stopped going there. We had heard that management had changed and reverted to previous hosts, so we tried it again for an evening meal. We were greeted immediately on entering and, even though we had not booked, shown to a choice of tables. Service throughout was excellent. The menu is extensive with standard a la carte, chef’s specials, rib menu etc. We had no problem deciding what we wanted and the food was very good. The only niggle was that there didn’t seem to be a wine menu, just a choice of wine type related by the waitress. It’s not fine dining but very good food well presented.

(Never good going on your own).Well I have to say the food was lovely,(Sunday lunch) the polish chef did a lovely job and I have to say it was a breath of fresh air for a car very and I’m generally not a fan but it was lovely. Don’t listen to the reviews pre October 2017 as it was different owners.Was offered a choice of meats and 6 different veg. The beef was nice and tender and the lamb was nice also cauliflowers cheese was lovely and the whole atmosphere there was nice. Floater coffee at the end was nice to finish the meal off even if more practice was needed (2 spoons of brown sugar and the cream floats)Will definitely call again and this place will be going into a few food guides.. a little gem of a place. Keep up the good work.Will definitely recommend this place and well worth the travel from Cardiff.

After being put off 2 years ago ,when the so called chef/ Manager of the Angel (Matt)has just recently done a moon night flit , thank god, we have visited the Pub again . It's gone back to it great standards of outstanding service and food. It's now run by its owners again Jo and Paul, please don't leave again it's nice to have you back and I hope the great pub will stay up in the top 10 pubs in the area to enjoy great food . All the best

Ignore poor reviews prior to October 2017. The Angel has undergone a re vamp. The service received from Jo and her team today was first class. I had a beef Sunday lunch. The meal was hot, fresh and tasty. Looking forward to returning soon.

I went as part of a group of friends to this pub and enjoyed a fantastic meal served by very friendly staff as well as welcoming . Will be definitely coming back here for food ! 5*

Don't usually write a bad review but when a hospitality establishment is this bad I have to say something. Yes we gave the staff a chance to deal with complaint at the time but the chef behaved in such a threatening manner it seemed to not help matters. Don't go here if you expect to be served within an hour and a half of ordering. Don't go here if you like choice. Don't go here if you expect any degree of service. If you like waiting two hours on a family member's birthday, on the day they only offer 3 types of roast so not exactly a chefs challenge - this is for you. Thanks for ruining what should have been a special birthday. Thanks for threatening my elderly father for enquiring where his food was after waiting an hour and half.

Visited for Sunday Lunch on a wet September day. Menu was very limited with only Pork being available as a traditional roast. The beef was a Welsh steak cooked to your liking with yorkshire and veg or a Parma ham wrapped chicken. My partner ordered the pork and I had steak. We ordered drinks, there was only one type of draught beer on tap which was disappointing so opted for a bottle of Peroni and a glass of red wine. The food arrived surprisingly quickly, even before we had any cutlery, ooops, they brought us someone else's lunch! It was soon whisked away to another table. We didn't haveto wait for too long before lunch arrived. I have to say it was delicious, the pork was perfectly cooked with a delicious apple sauce. The steak was beautifully cooked but I would have prepared roast beef to a steak for Sunday Lunch. Plenty of freshly cooked veg, potatoes and gravy, really excellent portions. I decided to have another glass of wine to go with my steak but apparently they had ran out and there was no red wine to accompany my beef. That to me is a bit of a disaster! We finished our mains and decided to leave before trying a dessert. A pleasant experience, service was pleasant although one waitress didn't seem to know what was happening and needed training. The quality and quantity of food was excellent but the experience as a whole was disappointing.

Avoid at all cost, service was slow, took 10 minutes just to get menu, finally after ordering food came and I would have rather eaten from the dog bowl, and the attitude we had has got to be the rudest and most un professional ever, would not recommend anyone to come here, if you do, I'm sorry I tried to warn you,

Now that is what I call a fantastic place to have the best Sunday lunch ever, great staff warm welcome just brilliant

Wow...what a find. We popped in while on a tour around the beautiful area and oh my. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and menu full of good choices. We opted for 2 course lunch and wow.Our starters were fab..not too filling but when the main roast arrived !!!Everything was cooked to perfection, 2 of us had pork, 1 had beef and one lamb and everything was perfect. All the trimmings and veg were to die for and staff were attentive without being too much. Good wine choices and the deserts looked lovely but couldn't squeeze one in.Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back very soon.

The restaurant is large but poorly decorated. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the food was hot and plenty of it. I had lamb some of which was over fatty and my wife had chicken which was good. We finished off with plumb tart and custard which was very yasty

Stopped here for lunch one Sunday and it was so good we've come back 5 weeks running.This is a 75 mile round trip for us but the food + service is great.Young staff but they are all really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We'll be back SOON!

As part of Brit Stops we stayed overnight after having a lovely meal in this really cosy and very friendly pub. It was a bit off the beaten track but worth a visit.

Went there tonight for birthday dinner with family the food was ok but service was poor was an hour wait for food and even then the waitresses started clearing other tables before all the food was out and one of the children's beef burger turned out to be lamb and mint and we got was a sorry passed on from the chef had to negotiate with staff over paying for that uneaten meal we brought our own birthday cake in and had to ask staff four times to bring it out and it wasn't busy in there so should have been an easy task won't be returning also asked for high chairs upon booking witch we didn't receive

I attended on a very busy night with 60 ravenous football players from local club having their presentation night The 3 course meal was very tasty ,presented well and served by a team of attentive waitress . The function room can cope with large numbers but also the place can cope with smaller more intimate dining

This is a great pub. Had a another delicious meal last night...Eaten here several times on our visits to Carmarthen. Great food and plenty of it, lovely atmosphere.. Would recommend to anyone. Looking forward to calling again soon ;)
