Not just a cafe, The Angel is a meeting place for all. The warm and friendly welcome extends beyond excellent coffee and cake and you find yourself conversing with strangers within no time and a sense that these ancient walls have always echoed with voices and laughter. The highlight of the year is the Easter Dawn Service in the garden followed by eggs and bacon in the cafe - wonderful!

Several times a year Pam and Matthew and a hard-working team of volunteers run Cambodian Feast Nights at the Angel. £18 per head with a large glass of wine and coffee included. Buffet style service with a selection of Cambodian delights to suit every taste. Booking is essential. If you can't make this feast night, try one of their Big Breakfast mornings. Locally sourced produce all beautifully cooked. You won't be disappointed.

When you walk in the places looks quite small, but there is more seating round to the right entrance door to the front of the building over looking the main road. You order at the counter & your order is delivered to you. We found the staff friendly & our drinks & cakes to our liking. This is a community cafe that is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10.00am - 4.00pm, & Saturdays 10.00am - 1.00pm . The entrance is down the side on the left as you look at The Angel, the toilets our out outside entrance door down on the left.

Stopped here on the off chance as we were passing and were lucky enough to get a table. Good range of choices for vegetarians. Loved the quirky decor. Food delicious.

Lovely community run little cafe opposite the church in Martock in a beautiful building made from the local stone, if only the stone could tell the stories it must of witnessed over the years. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and especially as they were in the midst of chaos after losing Internet and card payment facilities they relied on good old paper and pen. Ordered some delicious looking cakes and cream tea for the kids, all giving a big thumbs up. I looked at the specials board and went with a simple cheese and ham toasted sandwich in white bread. Served with a side salad and crisps. Nothing special but also nothing wrong with it, all tasted as expected, freshly made with a pleasing cheese pull without totally burning my mouth. Lovely, welcoming would love to visit again.

Lovely big cups of coffee, cheese scone and bacon on crumpets, followed by a slice of 'cake of the day'. Yummy food and good service.
