Great village pub with good food. Dog friendly and a beer garden.

Good variety of Beers, but the food? Excellent home cooked, good portions served by polite, happy young staff. I will return!

Best place I've eaten at in years. The steak and kidney pubbing is absolutely to die for.

What a gem of a little pub in the countryside, absolutely loved it and so did my friend's who came to. Good disabled access so highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Food and service excellent. Very loud could not hold a conversation with my friends and family as far too noisy and uncomfortably hot in the restaurant

What a lovely place to eat, our food sizzling chicken + salad +chips and the Steak + Kidney pudding with mash + veg were absolutely superb!

We were staying locally for a relaxing night away and stumbled across this pub. Staff were very helpful, we ordered some starters and sides to share between us. They were all absolutely delicious! Delivered quickly to us as we sat in the garden. Food and atmosphere were lovely. Will definitely return if we are in the area again!

Expensive on drinks but the food is excellent friendly staff and a great beer garden

We only ended up here by chance... this small local restaurant really deserves 5 stars... my wife and I would have liked to have given more... super tasty food... good wine... and excellent service... what more could you want 👌😎

Spot of lunch at a village on the edge of Faversham and this place turned out to be a good choice. Lunch for two at £35 was a real bargain and a pleasure to eat. Large Fish and chips, Steak and kidney pudding served with a choice of chips or mash and a side of cabbage/carrots/broccoli. Tasty meat filled pudding was a generous portion and was more steak than kidney in a tasty suet pastry, smothered in gravy it went down very easily. Fast and polite service by two young gentlemen who could not do enough for you. The price included two and a half pints of Cordial and soda so was very good value.

We were staying on a campsite nearby. (Painters Forstal) Booked a table , when we booked they said it may get a bit rowdy as the Bat and trap championship was on that evening ! We had a delicious meal , followed by entertainment at the bat and trap !

We had a meal here. A very nice pub. There was a mix up with the food order. Sadly one person in our party had the wrong meal. However the food was very nice, and we got a reduced bill.

Disappointing. Turned up at 15-00 on a Sunday to try and get something to eat, only to find they had no food as they were catering for a private function. I understand that this is a big booking for them, but there are other people eating and what about the wood fired pizzas in the summer? Staff on the bar seemed very indifferent

Food at a The Alma; good burgers, reasonable price, good service. Young, enthusiastic people making it a very good option. This is a genuine review , genuinely impressed tonight. Best of luck to them.

Our second visit to the Alma when visiting family in the area. A great atmosphere, service with a smile and a very tasty menu. Would highly recommend, if you get to the desserts I would suggest the gypsy tart. Five stars from us.

Food was delicious, hot and well presented! Excellent service and very friendly.

Modernised pub serving food which I didn't try. Well kept Shepherds Neame Masterbrew. Outside seating is basically in the car park, but pleasant on a sunny day. There's another covered seating area over the fence which I thought was the smoking area, but I see from the comment there's a garden there.

A hidden gem in a pretty village. The service, food and pub are great. My wife had been on a strict gluten and dairy free diet for the past three weeks, it was a real treat for her to have a delicious Thai chicken curry. I enjoyed my steak and kidney pudding with nicely cooked vegetables.

Another super meal at the Alma. All 3 courses were great and really well priced. Young balding chap who runs the bar does a great job, and was very attentive. 5 stars and will be back.

Had a meal with a friend today. The meat pudding was inedible, never before experienced suet crust that you couldn't cut through with a knife! and meat was as tough and hard as a bullet. I sent most of it back but ate some of the vegetables as naturally I had to eat something. I was told I would get a reduction on the bill but when I came to pay only the price of a soft drink was deducted. I questioned this and it was insinuated by a staff member that I was trying to get a free meal! I've never been so insulted on my life.

What a fantastic family run Kentish pub. Great beer, superb food & really friendly atmosphere. Two courses & a beer, £27, great value. Good choice of gluten free meals.

I visited here for dinner one evening as was staying in the area and cannot recommend enough. Beautiful little country pub, nice atmosphere and glad to see busy mid week. Food was so hot and flavourful, fantastic portion size and value for money. All freshly cooked. Would love to go back soon! Thank you!

We had a birthday party at the pub and couldn’t have asked for more Richard,Claire and the team worked so hard to make it a special day. The buffet was amazing and everyone commented on the lovely food. I would definitely recommend not only the place for celebrations but also the lovely food that they serve everyday. Sizzling chicken must be tried. Thank you again

This was our first visit and we have to say it was a very good one, the food was excellent. Service was great and the bill was a pleasant surprise.

Went for a roast with my family. The food was fantastic, really good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Good vegetarian options. The inside was really cosy and well done. The staff were all lovely too. Can’t fault it!

Absolutely fabulous lunch with family members for mums 95th birthday. Food was delicious, service was excellent, and the gypsy tart was to die for! Thankyou.

A lovely Sunday roast. The pub was packed with diners but all seemed to be served promptly with piping hot and very tasty food at a very reasonable price.

I know of nowhere better for pub grub. Welcoming staff who are efficient but unobtrusive; superb value; delicious steak and kidney pudding; great beer.

Consistently reliable good pub food and if homemade steak and kidney pudding is your foodie favourite, The Alma's is cracking.

Went with friends today and they were very impressed Especially liked the steak and kidney pudding with generous helpings of fresh veg and chips We had fish and chips which were equally good Banoffee pie the best one I've had beside my own lol! My friend was so happy as they had gypsy tart He is a huge fan! The orange panacotta with orange sorbet was delicious 😋 Lovely staff Would recommend you try here

Not easy to find a place where they still serve steak and kidney pudding but the Alma does and tasty it was too. The suet layer just right, not too thick. Well filled, lovely gravy and roast potatoes and vegetables on the side. Wish it was closer to home.

How luck they open on Monday’s. Delicious food, lovely avocado and smoked salmon, very good burgers and chips were very good as well. Will definitely revisit great place for Ladies that lunch. I had a delicious rose wine. With good service

Stayed in the campsite just up the road. Made a reservation as we have a dog, very friendly on the phone and made the reservation. Food was great, service was very polite and accommodating. Really lovely pub and the garden is very well kept. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Beautiful little gem of a pub . Popped in there after Shepherd Neame tour . Food was gorgeous staff were on the ball and friendly. Be warned that it gets busy so book if you can . We will be visiting again

Every time… unbelievable food, service & a impeccable hospitable atmosphere, love it so much, up there with one of the best without a shadow of a doubt.

1st time we have eaten there. The food was delicious, I had steak and kidney pudding,(Simply magical). There was two people running the front of house both very professional. We believe the landlord was present, if so he never spoke to us , but he spoke to all the other tables, not a major problem but if our pub we would have checked everything was ok for the paying customers. Will go back .

We had a Sunday lunch and a mid-week evening meal at The Alma. Both were lovely. We were camping at Painter’s Farm, a 5min walk away so we’d booked to have lunch there once we’d pitched our tents on the Sunday. We found out they were having a charity quiz that evening and as it was too cold to sit outside, we decided to go back; what a hoot! Our team came last but we had such a laugh. Both the landlord and his team, as well as the locals were really friendly and made us feel really welcome. The landlady is the chef; and I must say, her Thai chicken curry was delish!

Superb evening at the Alma yet again for a family celebration. Richard and Claire never disappoint with the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Comes highly recommended.

Had a fantastic lunch. Food and service were both great. Definitely recommend. Young bar manager with the sticky out ears was brilliant.

On recommend from the local camping site we were staying at, my wife and I dropped in for food and had a great meal: Delicious Steak + Kidney pie (local butcher sourced meat and filled to capacity!) - truly better than Mum made, and a Red Thai Chicken Curry that actually kept the wife quiet for a good half hour!! We were really pleased and will wholeheartedly recommend the Alma for quality food, good pricing, and all served with excellent hospitality, (many thanks Millie) and Rich the landlord - well done, we’ll be back! 👍🏻 (ps - our Springer Spaniel was allowed to sit with us at table in garden no probs)

Good food, clean, nice ales, lovely gardens...very reasonably priced too

I think the staff were struggling in the heat and towards the end of service. No welcome when we arrived. Slow to get served and everyone seemed exhausted. The roast was ok but, for Brogdale beef it was tough and chewy and we left a lot of it. No one asked if we’d enjoyed the meal so no feedback was given. Overall it was a disappointing experience. One waiter did finally make an effort to be cheerful but by then we’d decided to leave.

The best home cooked food especially Sunday roast.

My guests were held up on the M11 and staff were very helpful and changed my booked time with no hassle.

Long time since last visit but we weren't disappointed. Food as ever is fantastic and plentyfull. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will be back in the future although we don't live locally but we'll worth a special visit

Lovely village pub, clearly popular with the locals. Food was delicious and good portions. Lightest batter on the fresh cod we've ever had. The Chicken Sizzler was different, and very popular. Reasonable pricing, outdoor space available. Cosy setting, loved the old photos on the wall showing some of the history of Faversham. 10/10 would definitely visit again.

Excellent food and service at resonable prices

A lovely village pub in a fantastic part of the countryside. I stopped off there whilst on a bike ride, I locked my bike up outside and went in to enjoy a very tasty Cajun burger and a pint of Birra Moretti. The service was good, the food was brought out promptly and I was made to feel very welcome. I plan to go back and enjoy their hospitality again, but maybe next time I will sit in the beer garden and enjoy the sunshine (when the weather improves).

What a gem . . Proper home made classic dishes , made and cooked too perfection . 4 guest , 3 courses and not a scrap left on any plates .. the battered brie was to die for , the batter so delicate and clean the white of the brie was visible followed by Liver and bacon , quality liver that melted in the mouth , generous amount of side vegetables and real apple crumble and custard . Yum.. gypsy tart apparently also out of this world with a light texture . . Without a doubt can't wait to visit again .
