Another super meal at the Alma. All 3 courses were great and really well priced. Young balding chap who runs the bar does a great job, and was very attentive. 5 stars and will be back.

Had a meal with a friend today. The meat pudding was inedible, never before experienced suet crust that you couldn't cut through with a knife! and meat was as tough and hard as a bullet. I sent most of it back but ate some of the vegetables as naturally I had to eat something. I was told I would get a reduction on the bill but when I came to pay only the price of a soft drink was deducted. I questioned this and it was insinuated by a staff member that I was trying to get a free meal! I've never been so insulted on my life.

What a fantastic family run Kentish pub. Great beer, superb food & really friendly atmosphere. Two courses & a beer, £27, great value. Good choice of gluten free meals.

Lovely home cooked food with friendly staff.

We had a birthday party at the pub and couldn’t have asked for more Richard,Claire and the team worked so hard to make it a special day. The buffet was amazing and everyone commented on the lovely food. I would definitely recommend not only the place for celebrations but also the lovely food that they serve everyday. Sizzling chicken must be tried. Thank you again

I visited here for dinner one evening as was staying in the area and cannot recommend enough. Beautiful little country pub, nice atmosphere and glad to see busy mid week. Food was so hot and flavourful, fantastic portion size and value for money. All freshly cooked. Would love to go back soon! Thank you!

This was our first visit and we have to say it was a very good one, the food was excellent. Service was great and the bill was a pleasant surprise.

Went for a roast with my family. The food was fantastic, really good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Good vegetarian options. The inside was really cosy and well done. The staff were all lovely too. Can’t fault it!

Absolutely fabulous lunch with family members for mums 95th birthday. Food was delicious, service was excellent, and the gypsy tart was to die for! Thankyou.

Really enjoyed being here and well worth to wait for the table to have lunch. Food was great, especially liked the Gypsy Tart, who wouldn't.

A lovely Sunday roast. The pub was packed with diners but all seemed to be served promptly with piping hot and very tasty food at a very reasonable price.

Fantastic country pub. Excellent food and the beer (Shepherd Neame Master Brew) was spot-on. Friendly and attentive service and reasonably priced.

I know of nowhere better for pub grub. Welcoming staff who are efficient but unobtrusive; superb value; delicious steak and kidney pudding; great beer.

Consistently reliable good pub food and if homemade steak and kidney pudding is your foodie favourite, The Alma's is cracking.

Went with friends today and they were very impressed Especially liked the steak and kidney pudding with generous helpings of fresh veg and chips We had fish and chips which were equally good Banoffee pie the best one I've had beside my own lol! My friend was so happy as they had gypsy tart He is a huge fan! The orange panacotta with orange sorbet was delicious 😋 Lovely staff Would recommend you try here

Not easy to find a place where they still serve steak and kidney pudding but the Alma does and tasty it was too. The suet layer just right, not too thick. Well filled, lovely gravy and roast potatoes and vegetables on the side. Wish it was closer to home.

How luck they open on Monday’s. Delicious food, lovely avocado and smoked salmon, very good burgers and chips were very good as well. Will definitely revisit great place for Ladies that lunch. I had a delicious rose wine. With good service

Stayed in the campsite just up the road. Made a reservation as we have a dog, very friendly on the phone and made the reservation. Food was great, service was very polite and accommodating. Really lovely pub and the garden is very well kept. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Beautiful little gem of a pub . Popped in there after Shepherd Neame tour . Food was gorgeous staff were on the ball and friendly. Be warned that it gets busy so book if you can . We will be visiting again

Every time… unbelievable food, service & a impeccable hospitable atmosphere, love it so much, up there with one of the best without a shadow of a doubt.

1st time we have eaten there. The food was delicious, I had steak and kidney pudding,(Simply magical). There was two people running the front of house both very professional. We believe the landlord was present, if so he never spoke to us , but he spoke to all the other tables, not a major problem but if our pub we would have checked everything was ok for the paying customers. Will go back .

We had a Sunday lunch and a mid-week evening meal at The Alma. Both were lovely. We were camping at Painter’s Farm, a 5min walk away so we’d booked to have lunch there once we’d pitched our tents on the Sunday. We found out they were having a charity quiz that evening and as it was too cold to sit outside, we decided to go back; what a hoot! Our team came last but we had such a laugh. Both the landlord and his team, as well as the locals were really friendly and made us feel really welcome. The landlady is the chef; and I must say, her Thai chicken curry was delish!

Superb evening at the Alma yet again for a family celebration. Richard and Claire never disappoint with the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Comes highly recommended.

Had a fantastic lunch. Food and service were both great. Definitely recommend. Young bar manager with the sticky out ears was brilliant.

On recommend from the local camping site we were staying at, my wife and I dropped in for food and had a great meal: Delicious Steak + Kidney pie (local butcher sourced meat and filled to capacity!) - truly better than Mum made, and a Red Thai Chicken Curry that actually kept the wife quiet for a good half hour!! We were really pleased and will wholeheartedly recommend the Alma for quality food, good pricing, and all served with excellent hospitality, (many thanks Millie) and Rich the landlord - well done, we’ll be back! 👍🏻 (ps - our Springer Spaniel was allowed to sit with us at table in garden no probs)

Good food, clean, nice ales, lovely gardens...very reasonably priced too

I think the staff were struggling in the heat and towards the end of service. No welcome when we arrived. Slow to get served and everyone seemed exhausted. The roast was ok but, for Brogdale beef it was tough and chewy and we left a lot of it. No one asked if we’d enjoyed the meal so no feedback was given. Overall it was a disappointing experience. One waiter did finally make an effort to be cheerful but by then we’d decided to leave.

The best home cooked food especially Sunday roast.

My guests were held up on the M11 and staff were very helpful and changed my booked time with no hassle.

Long time since last visit but we weren't disappointed. Food as ever is fantastic and plentyfull. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will be back in the future although we don't live locally but we'll worth a special visit

Lovely village pub, clearly popular with the locals. Food was delicious and good portions. Lightest batter on the fresh cod we've ever had. The Chicken Sizzler was different, and very popular. Reasonable pricing, outdoor space available. Cosy setting, loved the old photos on the wall showing some of the history of Faversham. 10/10 would definitely visit again.

Beautiful little pub right next to our campsite. Had a lovely bacon and brie baton with salad and a portion of chips for our lunch. Sat in the 🌞 was lovely 😍

Excellent food and service at resonable prices

A lovely village pub in a fantastic part of the countryside. I stopped off there whilst on a bike ride, I locked my bike up outside and went in to enjoy a very tasty Cajun burger and a pint of Birra Moretti. The service was good, the food was brought out promptly and I was made to feel very welcome. I plan to go back and enjoy their hospitality again, but maybe next time I will sit in the beer garden and enjoy the sunshine (when the weather improves).

What a gem . . Proper home made classic dishes , made and cooked too perfection . 4 guest , 3 courses and not a scrap left on any plates .. the battered brie was to die for , the batter so delicate and clean the white of the brie was visible followed by Liver and bacon , quality liver that melted in the mouth , generous amount of side vegetables and real apple crumble and custard . Yum.. gypsy tart apparently also out of this world with a light texture . . Without a doubt can't wait to visit again .

Absolutely great place We stayed on the caravan park Richard the landlord and his staff couldn't have done more for us with our Dog's We ate there on Saturday and Sunday And the food was fantastic The Sunday roast was the best we've ever had in a pub Well worth a visit We will definitely be going back

We stayed at the campsite nearby where Simon and Karen the managers are . Very kindly people who told us that the Alma was the pub to go for good food and beer . But it was an deception. No-one said anything to us . Letting us standing there for quite a while. We where the only customers. Super unfriendly. No food no beer , so weleft. Never coming back again.

Olde world ambience and an excellent meal

Just a short stroll from our campsite. Unfortunately we couldn't eat here as we hadn't booked and they were so busy but had drinks and pizza in the garden which was lovely, fresh oven baked by two lovely young people. We heard wonderful feedback about the food so will book next time. Super dog friendly. Owners are fab, just don't be late for any booking without apologising lol. If you do you will find out why the warning.

Amazing food and a lovely outside area to eat and drink. Our waitress was also very lovely and friendly.

Cannot fault the landlord or staff , super helpful, great food , great atmosphere, Stayed at the local campsite, ate here twice , both times great . Would definitely go again if I’m in the area .

Pizzas were very nice and staff friendly but older gentleman, assuming the landlord, was very rude and miserable.

The gentleman doing the pizzas was lovely and the pizzas were delicious sadly the older gentleman who I assume is the landlord? Was very rude towards me when I asked something, I understand it may have been busy and perhaps short staffed but when your a paying customer it’s not where I want to spend my money! Told 3 other couples at the campsite to avoid going because of this unpleasant experiance!

Waited a long time to be served and while waiting, saw the owners being rude to at least 4 other groups of customers. The pizza orders were mixed up and when they eventually arrived, one of the pizzas had a corner cut off, suspect that was some burnt bit.

Arrived at The Alma without a booking and asked if they could accommodate two for dinner. Lady working very rudely just replied “chocca” and said no more to us. Understand we hadn’t booked but the unfriendly welcome meant we didn’t even stay for a drink in the bar area. Avoid.

Quaint. Cozy. Bat and trap was certainly entertaining. Food was tasty and the staff were friendly.

Wonderful meal with friends this lunchtime. I had steak and kidney pudding, good sized portion, beautifully tender beef, well cooked fresh veg , good prices, great value. The fish and chips looked great, so did thai green curry and fish pie. nice choice of food on the menu. Great garden, perfect place for a pint or two . Going back to try the rest of the menu!

26 of us turned up (booked in advance) and they couldn't have done more for us, service was absolutely spot on, and the home made food was excellent.

A ++++ Super food . If you have an allergy of any sort ,this is the place to eat as the care and attention you get is wonderful. My husband has many allergies and nothing was to much trouble.
