The Alex Pub & Restaurant in Haringey

La comida era muy sabrosa, porciones generosas y precios razonables. Buena elección de cervezas. Personal amable y gran ambiente. Estábamos viendo el fútbol y hay pantallas gigantes, pero también áreas sin pantallas y un área exterior agradable. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo!

Entramos, ya que era el lugar familiar más cercano para almorzar después de visitar el Lido. Las expectativas no eran altas, ya que no queríamos el fútbol, pero encontramos un rincón tranquilo y la comida era deliciosa. Los niños pescado y patatas fritas eran encantadores. Los asados eran generosos, sabrosos, cocinados en casa y tenían un montón de deliciosas verduras asadas, además de una excelente salsa sobre la suculenta carne asada con un crujiente pudín de Yorkshire. Los platos principales estaban unidos caro (pensé que sospecho que no para los estándares de Londres). El servicio era bueno y realmente disfrutamos nuestro almuerzo.

la comida estaba congelada y sin sabor, y las salsas y los guisantes servidos en plástico se quejaban de que las bebidas gratuitas costaban 35 en Islandia 5

Las nuevas personas en el pub ya lo están convirtiendo en un gran lugar. Fuimos el domingo y el bar estaba bien abastecido, lo están convirtiendo en un pub adecuado no gastro o high-end. tiene una mesa de billar y dardos en el lado de los deportes, que es algo que echamos de menos en la zona. un buen trabajo bien hecho chicos volveré

We went in yesterday afternoon as hadn't been in for some time. I don't know if it's changing hands, being sold or what but the pub is just awful. It used to be beautifully decorated and well kept. The toilets were filthy. It appears to have changed into a sports bar with handwritten notices on the walls for children not to play on the pool table which is covered up anyway. The garden was also in a state. My recommendation is to keep on walking and head for The Maynard just up the road.

What can we say thank you so much ANDY AS YOU PROMISED we did not have to worry about anything every think went so well food and service was FANTASTIC at a very sad time in our lives you took care of every one . we would like to thank you and your staff that could not have done enough for us all . THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH

My friends and I booked The Alex for our Christmas book club evening. We were cheerily welcomed and had a great table by the open fire and Christmas tree. Very pretty and festive. The food was delicious, especially the home cut chips and burgers. I thought the attention to the little things, gherkin, homemade burger, yummy brioche bun made it extra tasty. House red was full bodied and smooth too! Very important for a book club. We had a lovely evening and all agreed we would be coming back. Thanks for a super evening.

New management are making a massive effort to be accommodating and the spiced cider is top notch - not too sweet, not too hot; just what you need on a cold December day. Have recently stopped by a few times, very briefly, to enquire about a big booking and they couldn't be more obliging, each time remembering my name and all the specifics of my request without prompting. Feels like a local already.

Ive seen a few bad reviews of this place however they have recently changed hands and there is a couple that are originally from crouch end take over and its defenetly a more family friendly pub and i can comfortably say this as i had previously visited last year and can see a big difference you should defenetly check this out ( a few things still need adjusting but hey its brand spanking new) I wish the couple the very best of luck as they are wonderful people

Had a confirmed booking for Thursday night, for a wedding anniversary dinner. They didn’t know that and didn’t need to but it adds a bit of gravitas to what happened next. We turned up at the allotted time to find them shut. No sign, no notice, just doors locked and lights off. Could they have emailed or phoned me to tell me they were going to be shut; and apologise for cancelling our confirmed booking? Yes, I think so. But they didn’t.

I would give this a zero star rating if that were possible. I booked a table for six members of my Foodie Group for dinner on Tuesday evening and gave my mobile number, as I always do. We arrived to find it shut !!! Not only that, but other people were also waiting outside, having booked a room for a meeting. We stopped a local passer-by, who said they frequently shut up without any notice. This was a huge disappointment for my group. Fortunately, we were able to relocate to La Gioconda, which was FANTASTIC and which I have reviewed separately. I will NEVER book at The Alex again.
