The Aldwick Cafe in Arun

The Aldwick Beach Cafe is situated on the beach in Aldwick, Bognor Regis. Although situated outside on the beach, on a wooden flooring, it is immaculately clean. Some of the tables and seating are partially protected from the wind. The staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a large menu with a good range of food as well as ice creams. The food is fresh, well cooked and well presented. The Aldwick Beach Cafe also offers free Wi-Fi.

My partner and I just visited the Aldwick Cafe (02/01/2024) and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The cafe was quiet with only a few customers in, even thought we have never visited here before we felt very comfortable and at home. We ordered our food which was at a very good price and it came out of the kitchen in good time and it was hot! We cannot find any faults with the food or service. Thank you for giving us a Breakfast and Cafe to return too.

I ordered an all day breakfast mid morning. Service was excellent and food came quickly. It looked ok but something didn’t taste right, I couldn’t decide which item. I left half of it. Ten minutes after leaving I had to stop the car to be violently sick. That set the tone for the day of constant vomiting and diarrhoea

Whilst this has always been my favourite cafe in Bognor, after today we will never return! Prior to the owner opening another venture in the centre of town and working there full time, he was always the most attentive chef and nothing was ever an issue. Today we visited and the cafe was busy, we sat on a table that was dirty due to none others being clean, it took a while to be cleaned (could have been excused due to how busy it was) however customers who had entered after us had their orders taken before us, we had ours taken and then another family come in, they got their order taken, toast and drinks all before we even got our cold drinks. The waitress was apologetic and was clearly new to her role, so wasn’t a massive issue. After the wait for food (which we were made aware of) we got our food before our cutlery and was instantly disappointed at the look of the food. The chef has clocked onto me not liking the look of my food and proceeded to laugh to himself. My mushrooms were swimming in oil, also 2 different batches of cooked mushrooms, half undercooked and the rest majorly over cooked. Sausages over cooked, can also tell they were cheap with the overpowering taste of vinegar, hash browns were mushy as anything, very very rubbery bacon, and the eggs were the worst of all, unsure even how they were cooked and I would not even feed them to my dog! When we asked the waitress (whilst ensuring her we know it’s not her fault) if she would eat them, she laughed and said no! The chef was leaning through the shelves at this point actually laughing at me, my partner and the waitress. The young waitress told us they would not be charging us for our food, I’m not usually one to complain but I’ve never had food like it in my life! It was horrendous. We where going there minimum once a month when the owner/old chef was there and will never return. I would be absolutely gutted as the owner, who was clearly very passionate about his cafe which reflected in the food and service, to see what was a really lovely cafe turn into an absolute laughing stock due to the staff employed. Disappointed in myself I forgot to take a photo as I truly believe the owner would be gutted to see! Once again I believe the young waitress has true potential and hope she does not feel like we took this out on her!

The best cafe breakfast in Bognor Regis by far!! Friendly staff, very attentive. Really good ingredients. Delicious!

Came here for breakfast, excellent food, good service. Definitely recommend. They even went out to the shop to get us some sweeteners for our coffee.

Sad to say I had to reduce what would be a 5 star review for the amazing food down to a 3 star because of the awful service received from the waitress on todays visit (never had a problem before today). We were not recognized upon sitting down but It was reasonably busy so could be excused, however after sitting there for 10 minutes and not even having a "be with you in a minute" it started to become frustrating we had all chosen and put menus down and clearly waiting sat there waiting to be served, then a new gentleman entered and found a seat and the waitress walked over and took his order immediately! we carried on waiting and still nothing so my partner had to go up to the till and asked if we could be served soon, she did not receive a particularly nice response or any apology for the delay. When finally served the waitress was cold and unfriendly like we had done something wrong for wanting to order! yet all other customers some obviously regulars were being chatted to with jokes and laughs. The toast was half the normal portion which was then rectified when my partner loudly said "we usually get more than this?" such a shame as the food quality is amazing but front of house staff is very important better training needed. Will have to reconsider options for breakfast in bognor in future.

Went for the first time this morning 4th Dec 2020. 7am . 3 superb tasty breakfasts , plenty of choice of which breakfast to have, plenty of toast and Ground Coffee Beans for a proper coffee not the powder cheap rubbish. Spotlessly clean dining area, clean breakfast no grease, very pleasant table service. Highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant food! Tasty burgers that are perfect for when you want quick and easy, hearty food. All topped off with a unique twist of deep fried potato slices. Would 100% recommend!!!

Went in for first time this morning. I live the other side of Bognor but have passed it many times. Was welcomed into an immaculate business with 2 very well presented staff. I ordered a breakfast without an egg and was immediately offered a substitute which I asked for an extra sausage to take away for my dog who was being groomed locally. The toast and tea arrived quickly and the food within a reasonable time ( my tea was still hot) but was piping hot and of a good quality. The only critisism was that there was not sauces in the table I assume for C19 reasons however I am a grown adult and could have asked !! Overall a 5/5 experience and I will be returning maybe for lunch next time. Keep up the great work

Visited at 2.50 for closure on the door of 3 pm. Received well, no issues. Communication was good. Parking is as usual slim on road but try the street behind as we did. Good ample portion so decided to drop in the next day. Could not facilitate due to covid:19 as they only had four tables and all four had one man per table just drinking. Not their fault due to restrictions yet thought they could have tried to accommodate with a reshuffle. So had to leave and not give a 3 meal custom for them. Otherwise do go yourself it's fine.

We called in for breakfast on my husbands birthday - huge breakfast with hot toast and very good coffee served with a smile. We will certainly be back.

Met up with family for a hearty breakfast before a day trip. Food was freshly cooked and plenty of it, including hot toast, which is very rare in cafes, so a very welcome treat! Would definitely visit again.

I am enjoying an All Day English Breakfast in a clean, bright, friendly cafe. The owners are delightful and justifiably proud of their establishment. A sense of throwback to pre-corporate days when local was good and hearty!

Not been here for a while and decided on spur of moment to drive from chichester for brunch/lunch. Not disappointed clean as ever. Service great and the food simple well cooked and delivered with a smile and of course the price is excellent.

Good clean cafe serving a good range of hot and cold food and drinks in a location just off the Aldwick seafront. Well worth a visit , I highly recommend the All Day Breakfast . Choose one from the selection offered or create your own . Well cooked and presented by pleasant staff. Great value too . Breakfasts , Lunches etc .

I visit here a few times each month and have to say this is always very good quality food and always served hot . Most of it is freshly prepared for you but the speed and quality of the service you get is excellent . This is honestly a great cafe to visit .

Mi marido y yo vamos aquí regularmente para el desayuno. Es simplemente el mejor desayuno preparado que se puede pedir y nunca nos ha decepcionado. Hemos recomendado a muchos de nuestros amigos que ahora vaya aquí. Tiene un ambiente agradable y el personal son encantadores y se desviven por ti. Lo recomiendo altamente.

Nice place for a breakfast. Very friendly staff. Large generous breakfasts and not swimming in grease. Fast service. Very clean space and a garden area to the back . Very reasonable priced.

Este es un lugar popular y después de visitar Puedo entenderlo, el personal es agradable y el desayuno mega es exactamente eso, muy bonito y muy abundante. No tome bastante tiempo para la comida para venir, pero estaba bastante concurrido y cocinan todo ya que esperar tanto comprensible.

From the food right down to the waiter(ress) this place is perfect, everyone is cheerful and the aldwick breakfast which I had was top class. Top marks and well deserved.

After my kitchen had been demolished upon my return from holiday, I resorted to cooking no breakfasts. This was the retreat I sampled with my family. They were very welcoming and friendly and the eggs were done to perfection.

Serves one of the best breakfasts in Bognorgreat for a late Sunday breakfastA good choice of breakfasts from Beans on toast to the two or three of everything and chips on the side for the really hungry!Always hot and cooked fresh, and they do not deep fry their mushrooms which is a definite bonus for me. (I hate deep fried fresh mushrooms)

This cafe serves good helpings of sensible basic food. Nothing fancy, decent quality at value-for-money prices. Swift and friendly service.

I do use this place for breakfast now and again as I live nearby. I think.the food is pretty good bit I think the breakfasts are overpriced for what you get. They do subscribe to the 'fill you up with bread theory of breakfast making unfortunately. The set breakfast is nearly 6 quid and for that I would like things like mushrooms, or black pudding not toast and sliced white!

I was working in Bognor when I visited this cafe with my son and I am afraid I was'nt impressed. The food I ordered was greasy and cold. When I complained the owner was aggressive and rude. I will not go back there again

Like others, we keep coming back here.I started coming here when I lived and worked round the corner, but even now I'm living further away, we keep coming back. The breakfasts are excellent and good value for money, the owners are always friendly and cheerful and the service is excellent.

I have been visiting this cafe since it opened. I have been to all the others on numerous occasions but this is the one I always return to.. The service is second to none. My wife is disabled, everytime she visits the owner always helps her through the door (in and out) no other cafe does this.The food is of a good standard. The place is always clean. Could be slightly cheaper but then you get what you pay for. I can't wait to visit again.

From the service, to the price, to the food - this cafe is hands down, the best in Bognor. I couldn't fault this cafe at at all. I strongly recommend visiting here if you want a nice, cheap breakfast (or one of the wide variety of other dishes on the menu!)

I have been eating here weekly for the past 3 yrs since they opened! A lovely cafe with above average service, excellent fresh food, food cooked to order if wanted and one of the cleanest cafes you will ever visit! A must visit for anyone! I highly recommend this cafe!!
