The Alchemist George Street in Edinburgh, City of

Un restaurante bar interior súper cool en el centro de Edimburgo, que incluso tiene su propio espacio de bar privado (el Patron Parlour! ) si tienes un grupo grande / reunión corporativa. Cenamos y tomamos cócteles y el servicio de Skye fue de primera clase: esta es una organización que se centra en capacitar a su personal para estar atento al servicio al cliente y crear una sensación de teatro en la entrega de cócteles. No puedo recomendarlo lo suficientemente!

Comida de cadena por encima de la media con algunos cócteles medios. El menú es atractivo, con suficiente variedad y no demasiado. Hay un tema oriental general, desde gyozas hasta currys y tempura, pero también otros tipos de ofrendas. Si desea probar varios bocados hay platos para compartir. Un marisco principal (tempura de bacalao) estaba fresco y muy bien cocinado. En general la cocina es muy profesional aunque no te acelere el corazón desde el punto de vista gastronómico. El servicio era muy amable y servicial. La habitación es amplia y bien diseñada con asientos cómodos, pero la música era demasiado alta (y no a mi gusto). Los precios son un poco altos por la calidad en mi opinión, pero esto es George Street. En general, un almuerzo agradable.

Estábamos aquí para las bebidas y Alchemist proporcionó Todo lo que quería era un martini sucio y el increíble tierno bar entregado Muchas gracias. La mejor bebida que he tomado en mucho tiempo Lo que aprecié fue... que esta bebida no estaba en el menú pero era lo único que iba a golpear el lugar

Habíamos reservado una mesa y llegamos a tiempo a las 5 : 30 pm. Solo había cinco mesas pequeñas ocupadas, por lo que había más personal que clientes, aunque el personal estaba muy ocupado sin hacer nada. El aparente gerente de turno pasó más tiempo tirando vasos que entregándolos. Pedimos nuestras bebidas y tardaron 15 minutos en llegar dos de ellos y el tercero llegó 25 minutos después de pedir. El equipamiento es mediocre y los asientos incómodos. No tendremos ninguna razón para volver.

Excelente personal - cócteles eran encantadores y el personal muy servicial. Reservamos con antelación, que era muy sencillo. Recomendaría

Visité con mi amigo esta noche. Mala experiencia. Aunque la gran impresión general de la inversión es área es sucia, particularmente área de bar. Parecía poco personal, algo de personal en entrenamiento pero no podía manejar un vino de la casa. Sorprendido por los precios cobrados que no había servicio de mesa. El personal del bar se desentendió completamente de los clientes en espera y se ofreció a servir a nuevos clientes a pesar de que otros 4 esperaban algún tiempo.

1 visita a la calle, parada para tomar cócteles en el camino de regreso a nuestro hotel. Personal amable del bar, atrayente y profesional, mis maridos Virgen María fue el mejor que ha probado, cuando mencionó esto al barman en nuestra salida. Él nos mostró su ingrediente secreto, yo también disfruté de mis Mojitos, nuestros dos cócteles se adornaron bien. Merece la pena visitarlo: )

After a day trip through to Edinburgh from Glasgow we ventured in for some food . Unfortunately as driving no cocktails but looking at other patrons orders they looked fab . Food was amazing .. compliments to the chef steak cooked to perfection. ( Hate places that can’t cook a decent steak ) . Iris our server was very attentive and had a lovely manner . Would def go again if back in the Capital x

Incredibly disappointed in this bar, service was terrible and on remarking that there was 6 members of staff doing nothing and I was still to be served, I was told that not all of them could serve…… Decor is grey and soulless, Prosecco is £40 and not worth it. Only good thing was the music. Would not recommend.

First visit here and will definitely not be back. I had a voucher for a special birthday to use. Both service and food was poor. On top of that you could not hear yourself speak as music so loud.

We just popped in for a cocktail. Great bar staff. Lots of theatrical cocktails with dry ice, smoke, syringes etc. So great to look at and watch what's getting made. The taste of our two was a little underwhelming once the smoke had died down... There was a big group doing speed dating in the bar, which was funny to watch for a while but got a bit distracting with the bell ringging every 5 mins. So to sum up, you could spend a lot of £ in there trying all the fancy concoctions, which is a laugh. Would you get a delicious cocktail, not sure. We had better at MalMaison but without any of the theatre. So maybe try both?

After a bit of shopping part 1 for a spot of lunch with my friend Karen. We popped In here 1st time very bright & staff were good fun. My cocktail was 3.5 oz of happiness. You got to keep the hip flask it came in. We ordered food but were asked to move to another table as we were sitting at the bar. The lovely guy who asked us gave me a big hug🤣🤣 ( best hugger ever🤣🤣. I would recommend this place to everyone, it's busy & lively. Service was brilliant.

This is the place to go if you are new to cocktails or your tastebuds know what they like. The mixologists knew their drinks, were very helpful in explaining and generally hypnotising to watch them work their magic. All the staff were so friendly and chatty throughout the night. The menu was easy to understand with a bit of fun thrown in. Loved the music choices which gave to the ambience of the place. Next time we visit we’ll definitely be trying the food, as well as the rest of the drinks menu!! Thank you

This was the second time we have tried the alchemist. After a negative experience in St James centre at Xmas, our group were offered some free cocktails. We decided to try the Alchemist on George Street - and what a difference! Excellent service, cocktails were explained well, didn’t wait too long, even though we were told that staff training was ongoing. Special shout out to Reece & Jack, perfect hosts, perfect start to our night in Edinburgh 🌟

My partner and I visited from York for his birthday to do the after dark event with the drinks package. He had never been before and I was so excited to take him. We were served by Laura, and when I say she was AMAZING this is no understatement. She made our evening so special. It was full of laughter and smiles thanks to our amazing server. We will be for sure make a visit if we travel up again, fingers crossed Laura is in! Thank you for making our visit so special, and I hope your duck we gave you made it home!

Eye wateringly expensive and worth every penny. party of four, mum dad, two adult daughters, dad paying, 2 cocktails each. Michelin star level of quality BS and Pfaff, waitresses were fantastic, the bartender was hipster masters degree cool, Go there once. I suspect if you go there twice it loses some magic. But go there once.

Terrible service, ever so slow. Forgotten drinks, no speed to help. Don’t waste your time. Find another place instead so your night out isn’t ruined.

Absolutely terrible service. Waited over half an hour for drinks and when they came they forgot 1 of the cocktails. Was then told it would be another 10 minutes as it was a new order and went to the back of the queue. After complaining was told there was nothing they could do. Left after 1 drink. Would not recommend.

Group of 3 couple went for after dinner cocktails. 30mins after ordering our cocktails arrived and they forgot 1. After pestering 2 waitresses and the manager our final cocktail finally arrived. Miserable drink. Not worth it. Best avoided.

Only guests in the restaurant 10.15 in a morning We could see our breakfast been prepared, put under heat lamps whilst they were completed There for just short of ten minutes Three breakfasts arrived but on two plates , miscommunication in the kitchen, !!! My breakfast as expected was served cold , the poached eggs were hardboiled and cold Sent back waited over 15 minutes for replacement which arrived slightly better but scored at 2/10 My wife ate hers because she didn’t want to wait Pancakes and bacon arrived all good AVOID for breakfast Chef in kitchen also not wearing any headware The bill came with discount but I would have preferred a GOOD EDIBAL BREAKFAST and pay for what we ordered

Amazing! Nipped in for a drink and was thoroughly impressed and entertained. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and skilled. Cocktails were really tasty, well made and prepared with flair and theatre. Highly recommended. Drinks were about £10-£12 each and worth every penny

Reserved a table last night for 4. We were starving. Heard extremely loud music as we got closer. Asked the bouncer if he was loud music inside and he said no. We walked in, music so loud we couldn’t talk to each other. Immediately walked out. Didn’t want bleeding ears over dinner.

Well, what can I say....we were not disappointed! Greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Drinks ordered we decided on our food by the time our first cocktail arrived! With oohs and aahs, we enjoyed the display and of course, how they tasted. We opted for cauliflower bites, and panko halloumi, following this with smoking board - bbq port and plant-based goujons. Service was great, food and cocktails were exceptional. Set in a lovely building, which was like a tardis, small front entrance, large bar and restaurant. So glad we came here for Saturday night dinner

Came in on the 21 October and our server Sofie was AMAZING. Recommend the best drinks in the menu. She we very accommodating with suggestions of shots and cocktails. 10/10 recommend and ask for Sofia. Sofia you where amazing and make me and my partner’s anniversary very special

Had lunch here on Sunday afternoon with my 2 daughters, age 14 and 10 while on a girls trip to Edinburgh. Everything was perfect - the service, the friendliness of all the staff, the drinks & the food. Will definitely return when back in the city. The girls enjoyed watching the bar staff create lots of cool cocktails from where we were sitting. Thanks for a lovely lunch….

Went here last Thursday night for my friends 25th birthday about half fivish, and we all had an absolutely fantastic time! Drinks were absolutely delicious not to mention very cool looking. I had a Pina Colava lamp which is a Pina Colada in a lava lamp and it lights up. I loved it! I also had a Jaffa cupcake with was super good too. Food was delicious too, especially the cookie s’mores which most of us got and now we’re obsessed! But what really made the night was the service and the atmosphere. We were served by Sophia to start with, she was super welcoming and friendly and I loved the pink hair. We also were served by Laura, again super friendly, had great banter with her through the night and she was the one who recommended the above mentioned cookie s’mores. Sean (or Shaun?) was also great, we all loved his little games with the bubbles. Would 100% go back whenever I’m back in Edinburgh. Thanks everyone that was on that night for such a great night!

Fantastic experience. Staff (1 lady in particular) was so friendly, happy and made it fun for the children , who can't wait to go back. Highly recommended 👌
